A proper English tea shop serving real tea and delicious snacks and cakes, topped off by being served by some beautiful stunning senior ladies, what a wonderful find in the heart of chard.

Friendly service provided by volunteers. 5 star food hygiene rating for light snacks and drinks. No Internet or card payment systems.

The food was not even warm service was so slow couldn't risk sending it back as might never got it back with in an hour even though there were only two tables being served!!

We stopped off in Chard looking for somewhere for a bacon buttie for breakfast and came across this quaint little cafe which is something to do with the local Church. It appears all those that work there are volunteers so hats off to them and we didn’t expect speedy service so our wait wasn’t a problem. We only had bacon baps and a drink, but these were pleasant enough and very reasonably priced. It appears that it is probably a popular place for the more senior residents of the town to meet up for a bite to eat and to catch up on local gossip, but who can blame them when the food is decent and prices excellent. Well done and good luck.

Quiet, but good service from a group of volunteers. Excellent filter coffee, teas and cold drinks with light snacks. Excellent home made cakes and biscuits. Child friendly, but no WiFi or electronic payments.

Good basic food, cake and coffee served by really friendly people, who I understand all volunteer. Would recommend as Chard has a rather limited choice. So, give it a try...

Nice enough place to drop into for a cup of tea and a snack. Didn't quite get what was ordered but hey, it's volunteer staff and very reasonably priced.

A lovely old building next to Chard Baptist in Holyrood Street. Lovely coffee and scones. Rather quaint but I loved it.

Very polite small and compact little restaurant tables late out lovely. Gentleman who served us was most courteous. Remember this place is not licenced but you can bring your own drink with no corkage charge. The only thing that I found was expensive was the poppy dons charging £1.95 each. Will return but I will only be having 2. Keep up the good work

Shading staff, beautiful building, free parking... Slowest wifi I've ever seen, no signs in shower for slipping, no Matt, non working extractor fan, TV blocked by bad railing had to raise TV, wall drops is on 1 pieces pretty dangerous as the top bit can simply fall off. No breakfast at least not at 8am. Window had so many slides webs looked like it had never been shut. Plug socket had 1 of 2 working physical with it. Finally shower worked sometimes depending on water pressie. Needs a lot of work. Maybe I would give a different room a try. Not worth more than 30 quid m.
