This place is lovely and the staff are wonderful they are also great neighbours.

We go here quite frequently with different friends and are never disappointed. Went last night with friends with whom we have a curry every couple of months. I always have the North Indian Garlic Chilli chicken and as usual it was brilliant. The service is always good and last night there were three other tables occupied, so there was a pleasant buzz. It is "bring your own booze" and the supermarket is next door, so no high priced fancy drinks. We had 4 mains, one rice, two naans, a tarka dhall and couldn't eat it all. Cost £80 including tip - absolute bargain and absolutely brilliant Very highly recommended.

Sadly worst madras and curry I've had. Bhaji was stale and so hard I couldn't eat. Naan stale stone cold. Madras wasn't a madras more gravy. Potatoe has an off taste. Really awful sorry not coming again.

Still exceeds expectations - it’s a really small Indian but they are certainly focused on quality over everything else. Never had a bad meal here and really compares to some of the best Indian food I’ve eaten across London & Birmingham.

My wife and I eat at Spice Gallery often, the food never disappoints. The staff are friendly and have some great recommendations. The service is top tier and the food is delicious. We will continue to make this our go to spot and I personally recommend the beef rezala. Been to a few places around the area and this is by far the best.

Even on a very busy New Years Eve the food was superb. For over 10 years I have been ordering from the Spice Gallery & no complaints so far. Thought it was about time to leave a positive review. Staff pleasant, orders are always correct & above all the dishes are consistent. The recent social media videos show just how fresh some of their ingredients & processes are. Tried a few of the surrounding Indian takeaways but come back to Somerton every time.

We haven't been for ao g time, and thought we'd support the restaurant. Foods were nice. Plates could be hot, as hubby eats slow. Would be nice to have quiet music as a back ground.

Great Indian restaurant! We come here often on a Friday/Saturday night and the food never disappoints... it is lovely. Whenever we go for an Indian anywhere else, it does not compare to The Spice Gallery. Generous portions with lot's of meat and plenty of flavour. I am not sure if they have new owners as the staff seem to have changed - for the better! The new staff are very friendly and welcoming. We will be back soon!

Was near here on holiday, great find. Food was really lovely, plenty of it. Good choice of dishes, staff very friendly, mentioned it was my birthday and got free poppadoms. Would definitely go here again if I'm ever near here

Reading other reviews with some saying this is the best Indian restaurant in the country, this set the bar quite high coming here. Sadly although reasonable, the food is nowhere near the best. I am from Berkshire and we have many places nearby that are better. Southall is a mere 30 minute drive away for starters. We ordered a Nazakat starter with Lamb Samosas. Both were nice but the Samosas were a bit oily, although fresh and hot. Our mains arrived - Chicken Bhuna and Garlic Chicken with garlic naan. The 2 dishes looked almost identical!? Both again were oily but apart from that tasted okay. Service was very good. It seems the place is far more popular as a takeaway as we were the only seated customers in for the duration of our meal on a Saturday night around 8pm. Not bad food but certainly no benchmark for others.

First time visiting here whilst on holiday. Going from the reviews I was expecting great things and we certainly weren't disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a very polite well presented gentleman who took our order and spent the next 15 mins chatting to us whilst our order was being prepared. He asked us to sit down and turned on the fan as it was so hot outside. The food was exceptional by far the best Indian food we have ever had. The cheese and garlic naan was delicious and so cheesy!! If anyone can find a better Indian restaurant and take away please let us know but we will probably be waiting a while. !!

Not really an eat-in place in terms if atmosphere but the food is super tasty and well portioned. We have never been disappointed with meals from here and it is novel to have an Indian take-away where the food still surprises you a little bit. Crunchy onion bhajis, buttery parathas, and delicious curries. The only negative is that they do not accept cards so you will need to take cash - come on guys, who carries cash with them any more? It might be the only curry house in Somerton but still one of our favourites. Give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed.

came here as i was local and the service and the food was beyond expectation, they really treat you well in this place and the food was really really good. customer service was excellent, i tried the Goosh kata musala which I would highly recommend. With the free parking facility made it easier for me and the family to come to. 5 stars for this place!

Ok so I've been using this Indian takeaway for just over 4 years now and it's absolutely hands down the best Indian takeaway food in the country! I absolutely love going here and chatting with the staff while I wait, conversing about our cultural differences, and reflecting on life. The food and service is consistent, it's cash only so make sure you bring some with you or head to the cash point whilst your food is being prepared. Parking is free and right outside the front door! There is also a few tables inside for a dine in experience however we've not done this.

This is our favourite curry house in the area, whenever we try elsewhere is just doesn't match up! Excellent food at reasonable prices, you can take your own alcoholic drinks which saves some money too. Always plenty of meat in the curries and generous portions.

Although the location of this place is in a carpark, don't be fooled, the food is outstanding.

Excellent selection on the menu. However, The Tarka Dhal was just water. I asked for a better one. it was still poor. I make it. The whole meal was extremely expensive. rather regrettable experience.

Stopped at Somerton over the weekend visiting grandchild, we had a takeaway, I can honestly say it was one of the best curries I've ever tasted the only down fall was the fact that we ordered poppadoms and pickle and the pickle tray was missing,which did cause dissapointment, never the less it was that good we shall certainly be ordering again on our next visit. My wife doesn't like Indian food but Spice Cottage was the only restaurant open in Somerton that evening. She loved her meal: "Slay the Dragon" (chicken with pineapple) and side dishes of rice and vegetables. I had an excellent chicken tikka dish. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

What a great find, ordered for a family meal and we were all blown away by how good the food was. The quality of ingredients and the chefs skill was apparent with every course. By far the best Indian take away we have had possibly ever.

Other than the Chicken Balti, the remaining dishes Chicken Pakora, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Passanda the chicken was very tough and chewy and ruined the dish. On a positive note the sauce and sundries where very good.

A group of 4 of us ate in on a Sunday evening whilst staying in the area, attracted by the BYO facility. Tbh, we weren't expecting too much from such a small unassuming place with 4 tables in a shopping area. How wrong we were! We often go for a curry and can honestly say this was probably the best we've had! A great selection of delicious curries, we had Sikander Badi Lamb, which was so tender it fell off the bone, Moglai chicken containing large chunks of succulent 'real' chicken (as oppose to preformed chicken, which you often get), a Lamb Tikka Roshni with lovely tender and lean lamb pieces, and a Chicken Tikka Mahkany, all very well presented. The rice was fluffy and light, I particularly liked the coconut rice and my friend loved the vegetable rice, with proper chunks of veg in it. The garlic nan bread was cut up nicely for us to share, bombay potatoes were lovely large spiced chunks and the poppadums were large and crispy, as were the onion bhajis. Portions were huge and they kindly provided boxes/bags to take our leftovers away. Even tho it was a small informal place, they kept standards high with pristine white linen table cloths and napkins. We brought beer and wine with us (no corkage) and bought some soft drinks there. The bill for the 4 of us arrived with chocolate mints and hot towels and came to around £98 (no tip added, so we left our own, as we received good and friendly service). Payment by cash or cheque only. We will certainly be eating here if we are in the area again!

Nice size portions was the only place in the area that had good reviews and that people didn’t get unwell after. Unfortunately I had a piece of yellow plastic in mine so not very happy

Had a takeaway which was awful. Not sure who the cook was but the dishes bore no resemblance to descriptions, were badly spiced and poorly cooked. Never again!

We use this place all the time friendly service sublime food great if you eat in or take away! Don't really want to share it it's our hidden little gem but credit where credit is due 🙂

Never ever had a better Indian take away. I've even eaten at fancy dine in Indian restaurants and the food doesn't compare to here. Whenever a friend recommends we get an Indian from somewhere else I decline as I know it wont live up to the Spice Gallery. Amazing food, great customer service, friendly staff, low prices and high quality food. There's a reason I can't stop going back! They know me by name and I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! We have enjoyed fantastic food from Spice Gallery for some time and we highly recommend them for food. I agree that you source the best ingredients. However, you need to spend some time sourcing employees who are trained in polite customer service. Your reputation for being rude to your customers is spreading and our experience this evening was appalling!

Only 4 tables inside, but very good food and service. No alcohol licence, but you can bring you own, and there's no corkage charge. Saves a fortune on a normal restaurant!

Great place to go if you want to be shouted at by the manager for wanting to split the bill, he really had quite an extensive rant at us for trying to help the counter staff, who didn't have a clue what we were saying, with the maths, in front of a queue of customers too who were also not impressed, won't be going there again. The food is generally acceptable enough but really nothing special.

Don’t bother, the worst Indian takeout we have experienced. Greasy and a peculiar taste in fact it was binned after just a couple of mouthfuls. The order was incomplete when opened but a fourteen mile round trip to complain wasn’t worth it. Not exactly inexpensive either. We do regularly have this type of takeout so know what to expect and feel able to offer an informed opinion . Chinese for me next time.

Reasonable prices but cash only which I find a bit odd. Food was ok but not particularly great; all main dishes looked and tasted pretty much the same I.e. yellow, sloppy and oily. Veg dish was bland and naan bread very sweet with a strange tang to it. All in all it was ok but probably would not bother again.

When we turned up to pick up our order, we asked to split the bill. It was simple as we had ordered exactly three items each. We were met with anger and shouted at in front of other customers waiting. I was so anxious with the belittling and shouting, I tried to add it up myself and couldn't because I was so upset. Apparently you can't write the prices on the receipt, I had asked for paper several times. The food was awful, warm at best, sag paneer was runny. Will never visit again. Had been using for over four years, severly gone downhill.

First time used for a takeaway. The order was ready on time and piping hot. Lovely meal, my husband was amazed at the size of the prawns. Portions were huge, we had enough left over for another meal the next day.

Biryani good,prices little higher then other takeaways & there’s no card facility which is a bit unusual.

After a few years excellent food it seems that you have switched to ready cooked bought in meals. Tandoori Chicken was tasteless and overcooked, Chicken Jalfrezi was more like boil in the bag with added onions. So sorry to have to write this, although must be fair the vegetables were good.

Had a takeaway last night,another excellent meal,full of flavour. All dishes were plentiful. Restaurant itself felt covid safe.

I moved down to somerset 4 years ago. The spice gallery is the best curry place I have ever tasted. I had to move away for a year but am so happy I am now local to it again so I can enjoy the wonderful food that the guys make.

Great food. Best Indian in the area hands down.

A1 in all respects, all the dishes were beautifully cooked 10/10 for the Aloo Sag in particular. The tandoori range was perfect and the breads, really good.

I love the food here- always choose something different. Don’t know much about Indian food, but it’s tasty and I enjoy it. It’s great to take your own drinks- keeps the cost down and they’re happy to open bottles and give you a glass etc. Thanks guys- we will be back!

In Somerton for a weeks holiday, tried Spice Gallery, wonderful food. Coconut rice+peshwari naan best we've ever had elsewhere. Chicken balti+chicken tikka masala excellent.

Really impressed with the quality, quantity and service - we don’t live far from Somerton but have stuck with our ‘old faithful’ curry house in Yeovil up until now but I think we are converted to the Spice Gallery :-)

Came here (again) with friends for drink and a meal. You have to bring your own drink but no great hardship. We all enjoyed the food as always. What more is to say? We'll be back.

Good take away curry, worth the wait (ready 45 mins after ordering on a busy Saturday night) only accepted cash but cash machine close by.

A really good local curry house that we use as a takeaway. We've never had a bad dish from here and would thoroughly recommend this great restaurant. Only 4 stars as they only take cash.

Food was really good! We ordered rice chips tikka masala and korma and poppadoms all tasted good korma lacked a bit of creaminess and tikka had no spice but even so it was really good and will definitely visit again. Please note August 2019 we ordered and there was no delivery service and they only accept cash however you can collect or eat in their restaurant so bear that in mind if your wanting an Indian

A selection of wonderfully cooked dishes, prepared by friendly staff who are both polite and engaging. A pleasant atmosphere, coupled with the aforementioned qualities ensure I am happy every time I eat here. Worth noting you can bring your own alcohol too, and should you not wish to eat in, they do take away which is also bang on.

Here (again) with two friends. I can't get enough of this. Food, as always, is fablious (correct spelling by the way), service is good, not an expensive meal and within 250 yards of home. What more can anybody want?

Came with two friends for a night out and catch up. Had several take aways from here but it's not the same as being waited on. The food is best described as fablious (correct spelling, by the way). If you like this cuisine, then get down here. You will not be disappointed.

We don't visit here as often as we should but we've been twice in the past week. On both occasions there were other groups eating in (It is very popular as a take-away) and that added to the atmosphere and enjoyment. It is situated in the town centre car park, so is easily missed by visitors to our lovely town.As usual, the service was welcoming and the food great. Usual wide ranging menu and the chef's specials always look good. Being a creature of habit I always have the North Indian garlic chili chicken, which is always flavoursome, garlicky and spicy. Had tarka dall as a side dish and that was excellent too!. Portions are generous so don't over-order! It is bring your own beer/wine too, so it is very economical. Very highly recommended

We had a takeaway x2 different dishes both very tasty . Lamb balti and a prawn and spinach main forgot the name . Everything was cooked fresh and was piping hot .Large portions and well worth the drive !

This restaurant was recommended to me by some friends To say I was disappointed would be an understatement! Over the last 50 years I have been to Indian restaurants all over the country and this has to be in my bottom 5. The menu had far too many dishes on it for the size of the restaurant and the food was tasteless.

I have been coming to this restaurant for roughly 17 years. In my opinion, it is the best and most authentic Indian restaurant in the local area.

My friends & I stayed in Somerton for a weekend break. We had a takeaway from this restaurant on the Sunday evening. The food was ready to collect after 30 minutes, & we were informed in advance that we had to pay in cash as cards are not accepted. This was useful to know. The food was tasty & the portions more than sufficient. I would recommend this takeaway.

This slightly out of the way Indian restaurant offers excellent authentic Indian food. There is a small restaurant area but it mainly offers take away from its menu. The food is prepared and served well, piping hot and full of spices - hence Spice Gallery. Excellent choice of food - also offers free deliveries.

This is the third Indian Restuarant I have ever had a utterly scrumptious meal from and I have eaten from many Indian restuarants over this country. The food was tasty (I had the Devils Tamarind) and the service excellent. Staff were so polite and helpful.

Spice Gallery wins again - another great meal, we sat in for dinner tonight and the staff really know how to look after you even when they are taking other orders and dealing takeaways - super polite and the food is great a firm favourite in our household.

A great quality curry that is packed full of flavour. Really generous portion sizes. Highly recommend the peshwari naan too! Have only had a takeaway, so can't comment too much on service... However when we have gone to collect staff have always been friendly. Would be great if cards were accepted though, as don't often carry cash. Would be even better if delivery was offered, however appreciate this may be a bit of a stretch! Thank you, and see you again soon.

No alcohol served, so enquire if you can take your own. We had a selection of vegetarian dishes which were superb and can't remember having better. There was an amazing Dhal dish that I can't see on the online menu today, the matter Paneer was different and delicious, the brinjal Bhaji really good - and garlic rice. Other dishes were just as good. The nan was quite flat though. We are going again next time I am in the area. Chef was very helpful in explaining some dishes to my friend.
