Nice food and drink and tables. Staff was nice and friendly. Takes 10 min for food and a minute or less for a drink. What recommend

Just wanted to have a quiet lunchtime drink, totally ruined by mind numbing music, why for gods sake, after 8pm maybe 😡😡😡

The waverley dealt with the wake for my mum. the function room was lovely for such an occasion, the staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. Lovely venue, lovely people

It's a fair few year since I last gave The Waverley a review, the last one being when it finally cast off the shackles of being part of a pub company and became a Free House and improved 100% overnight. Roll on a few years I'm delighted to report that it's carried on improving and then improving again. For any Real Ale drinkers I can report the beers are sensational, well priced and the atmosphere incredibly friendly. Landlord Rob has worked hard in recent months finally getting shot of the small minority of 'problem' customers who constantly spoilt everyone else's enjoyment. The food is good and reasonably priced, and the recent addition of live music outside on the decking during the summer months is a welcome bonus to us local residents. In all, great staff, good food, fabulous ale. What's not to enjoy?

Dropped in for a pint and an early dinner. Sat in the no smoking outside area overlooking the beach, but sheltered from the elements by glass wall. Friendly efficient staff. Food was served promptly and well presented, despite being very busy. Ham eggs and chips was well cooked and presented as was were the other dishes. Will definitely return. Only one downside - the music via the speakers was far to loud .

We have been eating at the Waverley for many years and it's gad its possible and down but since its new owners took over the food has been consistently good. The decor is better the service and just a nice place to visit. We went with friends on Sunday and my roast was excellent looking forward to Mt next visit 🙂

Pop in the Waverly on Saturday morning for breakfast, ordered and then when it arrived,both plates of the big breakfast was stone cold ,not even a bit warm ,we pointed this out to the girl serving at the bar ,who said sorry that's embarrassing,the two plates returned to the kitchen,and two new breakfasts were served , still not as hot as I would have liked but better

The best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub for a very long time. So well cooked and generous portions. This pub has improved so much since the change of ownership we are lucky to have it

Much improved since the last visit a while back. The food was nice and the atmosphere was also good. I late found out that the pub is no longer owned by young and the owner has certainly spruced the place up. Would recommend if passing.

Lovely setting, but service let this pub down ! 4 young women behind the bar only decided to serve me once they had finished their conversation. Ordered the coffee & cake deal & the berry cake was very average. I left half of it, but the shortbread biscuit served with the coffee was nice. My friend order food, which she enjoyed but the staff never brought out the cutlery or sugar when she later ordered a pot of tea. They should at the time of ordering told her where to collect them on her way out, so she didn’t have to leave her food to go x get cutlery ! The whole experience would have been so much better if the staff had been better trained in basic customer service skills..

Love love love the ambience, service and food, had the pancakes they were light fluffy and delicious.

First visit for us having passed by so many times. It was lovely. The food coming from the kitchen all looked good and ours was amazing. We had sharing fish platter. Loads of varieties of fresh cooked fish, plenty for two of us and exceptionally good value for money for £20.0O. Nice ambience and very friendly efficient service. Can’t wait to return,

Sometimes drink real ale but the choice was mediocre with three weak Langhams ales, so as it was hot plumped for a pint of Moretti lager. Tendered £10.00, received £1.90 change, no further comment other than won't be going back!. £8.10 per pint?, think i know the answer but won't comment here.

We have been multiple times……good food, good value, pleasant staff, good location. But cleanliness of the deck area is awful. The floor is strewn with fag ends and all around the entrance off the pavement…..there are ash trays provided but not enough. I suppose smokers don’t care about their lungs filling with tar and carcinogenic compounds so are they going to care about the environment? Please Waverley invest in a good hoover and clean up the deck…..was watching one of your staff trying to clean the floor with a long handle dustpan and brush……waste of time……there are cobwebs hanging from the canopy roof and the outside bench seats and tables are filthy, I’ve asked on a couple of occasions for them to be wiped….they need a jolly good scrub. We have not eaten inside, but have had to use the toilet facilities, the ladies and gents doors are filthy. We would visit more often and take friends if the management would clean the place up and spend a bit on refurbishment.

Really poor microwaved meal, with staff who didn’t seem to care and dubious things happening in the toilet!!

Great pub, been coming regularly for several years. The new owners are lovely and have really turned the pub around. Shame about the girl with the long dark hair behind the bar. Every time I've been in she has been rude, never smiles and one time when our tea bag split in the pot of tea and I asked for a new one, she was not apologetic, didn't understand what our issue was and when we eventually got a new one she just slammed it on the table then walked off. Not professional in my eyes. Luckily everyone else there makes up for her attitude. Lovely to sit outside when the weather's good and great "nights" put on, on a regular basis. I'd definitely recommend a visit

My friend and I had a lovely brunch at the Waverley, they didn't have a breakfast children's menu but nothing was too much trouble for the staff here, the little one was served promptly and our food was lush. Afterwards we played some games at the table and enjoyed the warm atmosphere... We'll be back again soon

Music to loud couldn’t hear each other speak, this was 6pm in the evening, lots of older people just eating, music is ok later when the younger customers arrive, as a suggestion maybe 8pm

I had just arrived in Bognor, rather earlier than excepted and too early for the meeting I had planned. I fancied a quick coffee on a biting cold afternoon so parked up on the sea front and nipped in to The Waverley. Thinking a snack would be nice I asked the barman if he had any sausage rolls or similar.He disappeared out the back and returned with a bowl of piping hot Polish meat and veg stew. Rather more than I wanted but I have to say very tasty. The coffee and the stew together was only a fiver. Great service and tasty food.Welcome on a cold day

My favourite Bognor Regis watering hole. Now that the pub is independently run it really has become an essential community hub, the food and drink offer has improved exponentially and there is a fantastic range of entertainment and events. The team are really friendly and helpful, the service is wonderful.

I visit Bognor Regis often for the day, coming from London as it is such a relaxing town with a wonderful relaxing seafront and promenade. A visit to Bognor wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Waverley for lunch. The staff make you feel so welcome and at home, they give you blankets to keep warm so you can sit out on there lovely terrace anytime. The food and drink are delicious and not too expensive either. The Waverley is a real Bognor institution. You must go there. It also has lovely views of the beach!

We visited the Waverley a couple of times whilst staying locally. The pub is so welcoming and friendly and has a fab relaxed atmosphere. The staff made us ( and our Shiba Inu dog) feel most at home. The coffee was excellent and served with a lovely ( homemade?) biscuit....perfect! Thanks so much for your hospitality. We will be back!

It didn’t feel great from the start. We turned up for our booking to be told we were on a table down the side in the shade, we asked if we could have a table at the front and was told we should have requested one at the front and all 10 (approximately) free tables were booked and arriving at the same time. They did however manage to put us at the front which was nice of them but it is worth noting at this point that during the whole duration of our visit the front got no where near got full so I’m not sure why we were made to feel so bad about wanting a sea view? We then ordered our food, very limited menu which was fine but my sister wanted poached eggs on toast with a couple of extras (beans and hash browns) that we were happy to pay for, we were met with ‘we can’t do that’. Not sure why we couldn’t pay for extras but fair enough. I then ambitiously asked if I could swap black pudding for something but was only allowed to remove, not ideal. We then waited a long time for the food to come out. The food was lovely apart from the eggs, I had one runny and one hard cooked fried egg, it was my sisters that was the worst, she ordered 2 poached eggs and both were pretty much hard boiled with no runny yolk at all. We asked the lady if we could have some fresh poached eggs and was told they are no longer doing eggs (2 minutes after receiving our food) and they would take it off the bill. My sister stressed that she was hungry and wanted an enjoyable, edible meal not a free meal so they did manage to do us a fresh meal but again we were kind of challenged on this? And then lastly which for me felt the most awkward. we had asked for the bill with one lady and then a minute later another lady came to the table and said the people who had booked our table had arrived and they needed us to leave. Again this would be fine if not for the fact there was about 8 free tables they could have been put on that weren’t used the entire time! Why so desperate to get rid of us? £45 felt steep for a breakfast experience where we didn’t feel welcomed to be there from the first minute. We won’t be returning I’m afraid.

Outstanding service and excellent food . We had Sunday roast menu , and the quality of meat was exceptional. Staff were friendly and very efficient. The outside area was very pleasant . Overall highly recommend.
