came here once, that was enough. Food is cold, undercooked and frankly expensive. Cafe barely opens now, most people go to the Barge next door. Much much better

I love this place for a good English breakfast. I almost don’t want to write a review for fear of making it even busier than it already is. The busyness is down to it being a holiday park and you do see some characters in there. It makes for good entertainment while you wait, especially if you don’t mind eating in a place that’s a bit warn around the edges. The breakfast is cooked very well, you get ample portions and value for money. The bread and butter is lovely, nice and soft with creamy butter... I know it’s bread but it tastes good! The only thing I could possibly fault is the tea being slightly on the builders side. The service is reasonably fast and friendly. You’ll be seeing me in the morning for another good breakfast and a pleasant start to my day.

I have been here quite a few times and have been satisfied in the past . I'm sorry to have to say this but the quality has gone down lately . The meals arrive at different times , the quality of the food is bland . We ate here and left most of it , the ham was tasteless the egg spoilt by the oil it was cooked in , the chips left a taste in your mouth because the oil they were cooked in was in need of changing . The whole meal was a disappointment . Even the tea was a strange colour of which I've not seen before . Sorry nice place but you need to to improve on what you are serving your customers .

I must admit to having good and not so good experiences at The Waterside Cafe. But it's getting worse. Staff serve you with a smile, food is freshly prepared, prices aren't bad and portions are not to bad either. It's just a shame that your food isn't all served at the same time and where it was once nice and clean, now it isn't. The baby chairs are disgustingly dirty.

A bit disappointed really. A large group of 7,which we told them about and asked for tables together. I accept they were beside one another, but you would expect them to be putt other so that you didn't have to sit with your backs to one another. Prices not bad but portion sizes were a let down, and all food was a bit dry and it didn't all come out at the same time, shame really. The cafe is also the local site shop for Park Resorts and offer a good selection of food for people to take away.

This is a nice little cafe that offers breakfasts, lunches, dinners evening meals and take aways all at a reasonable price. I know that it is located on a Park Resorts Caravan park, but don't let that put you off as it is open for anyone to use. Food tastes good, menu is is good with prices to match.

Due to inclement weather on the first couple of days of our camping holiday we ate here and were not disappointed - prices were keen and food was always freshly cooked - highly commended!

It's been 2 months since we have eaten at the Waterside Cafe. And again it didn't disappoint, we both had Cod and Chips and cans of coke. The price was less than £19.00 and the portion sizes were plentiful and the fish cooked very well in a light tasty batter. The Waterside Cafe has a good varied menu with prices to match. The staff are attentive and serve you will a smile they treat you very well as they want you to go back again.

The Waterside Café is situated on the Park Resorts site named Waterside Park Resorts, Main Road, St Lawrence, Steeple Southminster, Essex this café is not part of Park Resorts and is owned in its own right. As well as being a café it is also the shop and sells all manner of items for the holiday makers and owners. The Waterside Café has undergone a complete revamp, including how it is set up to being redecorated by it's new owner. On this visit we couldn't find any fault at all. It was very clean both inside and out, The menu was very good with plenty of choice and they serve breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks, the prices are very competitive and portion sizes excellent. The staff were very welcoming and you are served with a smile. We had cod and chips, the cod was freshly cooked and the batter very light and a good portion of crispy chips was also served. We will be going back again.

Very friendly and comfortable inn, because my wife was recovering from a recent broken arm, they took us to our room through the back of the hotel, which was fine in the daylight, a little trickier in the dark, but we coped, the food was out of this world, we had invented 2 friends who were also more than happy with the food, breakfast was also top knotch notch, very competitive price and staff went overboard to help us

The male employee was surly, not welcoming at all. Cappuccino was weak, not the normal two shots elsewhere. Croissant was delivered after I had to ask for it. It was toasted so essentially eating pastry flakes. I wasn’t asked if I wanted it toasted either. Beautiful building and interior. Despite this, I would return to see if my experience improves.

On the 5th October a group of us were booked for a meal at the Green Man: we had booked by email a few days before and the day before we phoned to confirm and change the numbers from 8 to 7. We were told that would be fine and no problem. On the day we arrived and were told they had no record of the booking because it wasn’t in the book. The bar staff said we couldn’t have booked by email or it would be in the book. We said we’d phoned the day before and were told that would be fine: the bar staff said we must have phoned the wrong number. We used the same phone and pressed redial: the staff said we should wait a moment as their phone was ringing. We pointed out that proved we’d used the right phone number: the bar staff said she’d no idea about that and we couldn’t have made a booking because it wasn’t in the book. Her attitude throughout our discussion was extremely off-hand, bordering on rude: she gave no hint of an apology and no indication of what could have gone wrong with their system for taking bookings. Even when we’d proved that we’d phoned the right number, she refused to accept that we’d contacted you at all and simply said you were too busy and couldn’t give us a meal. It was made very clear that she just wanted us to go away. Luckily we were able to make a booking on the spot for the King’s Head, who in complete contrast to the Green Man were very helpful & gave us an excellent meal. It is a great pity that their standard of service and politeness has deteriorated so much, since we as a group regularly sail to Burnham and have used the Green Man for many years; however we shall no longer trouble the Green Man with our custom since it is clearly not wanted.
