Nice pub just across from St. Peters Square in Manchester with the usual distinctive Wetherspoons design. Good beer and menu selection as usual. Had our breakfast here and one of the courses was completely screwed up by the kitchen staff, but the girl serving us sorted it out straight away and the manager gave us a full refund on that course, which was excellent customer service. I'd definitely visit again if in the area.

A great stop off Portland road. A very quirky Wetherspoons, but very well presented. Recommended.

We had 2 lunches, 2 drinks and 2 coffees and it was only £21. It was really excellent value. 3.69 for a pint of dark fruits when you can pay 5.50 in some places. The food was okay too. Speedy service and piping hot. Definitely be visiting again. We'll done Weatherspoons. Keep it going.

Lovely pub good food great service and nice atmosphere

I recently visited The Waterhouse (Wetherspoons) in Manchester, and it was a major letdown. I ordered a full English breakfast, and it was served cold—eggs, bacon, beans, everything. To make matters worse, the toast was burnt to a crisp. It’s clear there was little care put into the preparation of the food. The service wasn’t much better; the staff didn’t seem bothered when I raised the issue. I get that Wetherspoons is a budget-friendly chain, but that shouldn’t mean sacrificing quality or basic standards. Overall, a disappointing experience I wouldn’t recommend.

Nice service. Even though the food was a little bit on the cool side, the price was good enough. I would definitely go back.

I ordered 6 gravy’s and the last 3 were smaller pots and the very last one was so lumpy I thought I was drinking unmixed porridge

Regular haunt. Good food, great ale (including Phoenix Wobbly Bob - the best beer in England), good service, nice interior, great location, fantastic value. The only problem is that this all makes it very popular and getting a table at busy times can be difficult.

Fab 'spoons in a really good location. Loads of small rooms so it feels more intimate than your average 'spoons.

I had beans on toast, beans were cold and toast wasn’t toasted properly, my husband had a breakfast and his beans were cold too and the rest of the breakfast was Luke warm

Place that has a soul. Beautiful oldstyle pub with many different kind of beers and more than affordable prices. Staff is very kind and helpful. Definitely place to visit.

Once I got inside and found my party through the ridiculous labyrinth of small rooms, the beer was nice, and the food was OK. The entry into the pub was extremely difficult for me, I have severe arthritis in both knees and ankles. There are three very tall steps in with no grab rail to help you up or down. Honestly, if I hadn't agreed to meet people there, I would have walked past. It actually hurt my legs getting in the place.

Went for breakfast one of our party stuggled to enter due to high steps and a disability found there was an alternative entrance just needs sign posting from outside

18th Nov 2024: Let down by 15 minute wait for my coffee mug after ordering via app, and eventually having to search for a member of staff to ask for it. 11am and pub was almost empty. Much much quicker just to order at the bar like in the past. Breakfast was not as good an experience as I've had from other Wetherspoons. Barely warm and looked like it had stood about.

Just happened upon this Spoon's and 2 pints for less than a fiver on a Monday a good session was had.

Great vegetarian breakfast for £3.99 (+93p for a second egg). Friendly staff, spacious building with lots of seats and fancy toilets!

I visited the Waterhouse for lunch and my sister and we both ordered the small fish and chips. One of the portions was a fraction of the size of the other with very little fish inside inedible batter. See photos. Would not recommend and won't be going back.

The front door is broken, and making the most awful screeching sound, I had to leave early.

Lacks atmosphere with dining tables squeezed in everywhere. Cost of drinks excellent. Really good offers, we paid £4.38 for 2 pints!!

Nice to enjoy a coffee outside and watch the world go by without spending 💰 on bespoke style coffee house prices. Many types of ground coffees, and tea for less than £1.60 with free refills.

Unbeatable in terms of price and the selection of food and drinks. You remember the table number and order everything at the bar. Pay attention to the offers: e.g. fish and chips with a pint of beer for under 13 pounds. Lots of good beers...

It was my first time in England, I was offered to try English breakfast, so we went to this place. I really liked it! We went for dinner one more time, everything was great too

Better than average wetherspoons

It's a wetherspoons. It's fine, bit of a different vibe to other spoons in manchester because it's in an old house. Cheap drinks and decent food.

A very elegant historical grand building which almost gives the impression it could have appeared in a film or television period drama. This very busy pub is rather curious with small dining rooms all over the place on the ground floor and a large open dining area upstairs. The beer was generally quite a bit more expensive than Wetherspoon pubs round here in Lancashire but my beer of choice was a top notch pint and enhanced by it being chilled and that is the first time I have enjoyed a chilled pint in a Wetherspoons pub and I have visited many of them in recent times. If the Waterhouse had an attractive open plan lower floor I would have awarded five stars.

Now I love the spoons but this place has terrible grumpy staff obviously doing this as a part time job whilst at Uni. The grumpy miss behind the bar was awful and the prices hiked higher as you are in Manchester ! Nah we won’t be back awful place waste of a great historical building

Breakfast was cold on arrival and took over half an hour to arrive. Staff seemed more interested in chatting than serving people. Run down and dirty.

As expected. Could have been more helpful when there was no milk jug at the coffee station.

We use this pub quite a lot and it is our favourite Wetherspoons in Manchester. Handily located on Princess Street it is a big place with lots of anti-rooms for you to find a table and enjoy the food and drinks offered. Ideally, try and get a table by the window where you can see the city going about its business which is always entertaining. on this occasion, the service was slow even though the pub was quite quiet but there was only one lady serving. She soon called the others through who seem to be enjoying a bit of a rest but it isn't normally like that. Of course, the drinks are great value for money even if the wine is fairly awful. I'd recommend sticking to that great price bitters and IPAs.

Typical spoons pub but I like it here, food is reasonable and well priced and staff are friendly. Toilets are not the best but it's a city center pub so I imagine it's difficult to stay on top of it here.

This is a smaller wetherspoons with small intermat rooms but still the usual food and drinks and a little snug, 🥰

Had a disappointing start by going to The Moon Under the Water. But then went to The Waterhouse, ordered food and coffee refills, unfortunately the food we ordered and paid for was also not in stock. Evie the manager, apologised offered us an alternative with desserts and drinks. She couldn't do enough for us for all the inconvenience. She also waited on us personally, to ensure the service was at the highest standard. Evie, really made it up to us from the disappointment of both pubs, she is absolute credit to the company. I also recognised how hard she works, zipping around the pub, taking care of the customers needs. Will be definitely going there again!

Nice wetherspoons pub in centre of manchester. It can be busy and finding a seat can be a challenge. Great selection of cask ales. Worth a visit.

We like just about all the Wetherspoons in the city centre but this is probably our favourite. It is handedly located for Chinatown and other interesting locations. It does get very busy but they seem to keep a lot of stuff on and you usually get served quite quickly. it is no surprise that they have a fantastic range of drinks at fabulous prices for the city centre. It was a sunny day on this occasion so we got our drinks in plastic glasses and went out to the street at the back and enjoyed the sunshine.

Nice pub, very large, with a very wide choice of beers. Very affordable prices. Good burgers.

Food came after a small wait asked the waitress to bring a small plate she said yes no problem then didn't come back food was ok service was poor

The current manager, Anna, is the rudest person I have ever come across in the hospitality industry. They are happy to indulge in sharp practice regarding ordering of food online, and then when a member of staff is prepared to make an offer of refund as an act of good faith, Anne is only too happy to renege on that offer because … well she can. By all means visit this so called pub, but woe betide you if you have cause to complain .

Went in for a couple of Celebrating drinks for my son's Graduation 🎓 (15/07/24) Beautiful building wasn't too busy very clean definitely be back again when i visit Manchester again

The drink took a while to get to us, the building itself was nice and the space was utilised adequately. If you need a place for cheaper drinks in city centre go here. I would give it 3.5 but it's forbidden by the star system.

Not one of my favorite Wetherspoons. But it's definitely okay. There are several in Manchester. And certainly worse. As always, the price-performance ratio is great and the staff is very friendly.

Sat outside & enjoyed the sunshine. A bit more expensive than your regular 'Spoons, but you are smack bang in the middle of Manchester. Good choice of real ales.

Very disappointed because of the bred...is wasn't comestibile, it's boison! The chef supposed to know that and is not allowed in hospitality something like that.

They need to clamp down on people vaping inside.

It's like an old Blackpool hotel 🤣

Having visited here twice, the second time I'd of hoped it would of been better. The first time was with friends on a busy Saturday night. The food looked like it had been done hours before (not the best)😬 The second time I came here was through the week, at night. I walked in feeling great, but walked out feeling annoyed to put it mildly. I suffer from spinal cord compression. I couldn't make the toilets upstairs. When I asked to use the disabled toilet by a member of staff, clearly limping, he replied " you don't have to fake a limp to use the disabled toilet" 😯 I was furious that he implied I was doing this!😡 My reply was...I wish I was mate! I'm actually in alot of pain. This in my opinion, is a severe misjudgement of someone with a disability. And what's more, is this member of staff looked like he had a managerial role.😡I was clearly limping, and at the time in alot of pain! My question is, what would be said for all the people with non visible disabilities?? Very disappointing. Won't come back here again.

Not the best IV been in all small rooms

Solid food. The steak and kidney pudding hit the right spot. The gravy was delicious. Didn’t like the order at the bar system however. That being said, great choice when it comes to pub classics. The beer selection is also good. Prices are very reasonable.

Possibly the best wetherspoons I've been in, I love the fact you get rooms set out with 9 or so tables so it's nice and cosy. Service was fast food was spot on, highly recommended.

When we come away for the weekend wetherspoons breakfast is a must! Tried this one for a change today as opposed to our usual and were really disappointed. Drinks served really quickly as usual but 25 mins later no sign of the food but 3 tables around us who came and ordered after us had all been served and finished. Chased up at the bar to be told it would be out in a minute. 10 minutes later and 3 of the 4 breakfasts appeared. The missing breakfast turned up after a further 5 mins after having to chase again. No apology from the servers for the wait. Food was lovely but cool as if had been stood a while which is a shame. Overall disappointed with the level of service and will stick to our usual from now on.

Popped in for a coffee on our long walk around Manchester and were pleasantly surprised. A Wetherspoons by name and a Wetherspoons by appearance, service, food, drinks, right down to the furniture and uniquely dreadful carpet. We found a table, sat down to enjoy our £1.25 refillable coffee and enjoyed the experience. Not too busy when we visited, there was room to relax and have a private chinwag before we toddled off on our merry way to see more of the sights and sounds of Manchester. Recommended.

Nice drinks an cocktails very cheap food good if you want quick tea lots of deals on drinks an meals where you can get a drink included had pizza an onion rings chips good size of pizza only 2 people on bar area so took a bit of time to get served then an table as was very busy then tailed off when we got food no music or juke box massive building an toilets up stairs for ladies were huge needed more toilet rolls an too be a bit cleaner think this building used to be a hotel could get lost in irt that big several rooms an family an disabled facilitys downstairs at the back - cheap drinks etc an food

Didn't eat, just had a few drinks with friends. I'm a big fan of Wetherspoons pubs because of the amazing beers they have. This one did not disappoint. I'd definitely recommend.

I like Wetherspoons pubs and enjoy a regular drink in various establishments, but couldn't get out of this dump quick enough. 3 staff at bar just ignored me when i tried to order as they were busy talking, when i did get served the girl was unhelpful and didn't respond to my pertinent questions, followed by a pint of flat Stella. Awful experience, unlike Arnie, I wont be back. PS place is a dump
