The Waterfront in Highland

Excellent Sunday Roast - fantastic service from staff who were extremely helpful when we arrived without a booking. Very good value for money (compared to other places we’ve eaten recently). Impressed by how meal was served on a board with beef and Yorkshire in a bowl with vegetables, extra gravy, horseradish in other dishes. Desserts were delicious too!

We had dinner here on a couple of nights whilst in Inverness and enjoyed the meals and the atmosphere. It is a really friendly welcoming pub and restaurant. The prawn enchiladas were excellent also the vegetarian ones and on another occasion I enjoyed the trawler's pie with carrots. We would definitely return here when next in Inverness.

The Burn’s Night menu was absolutely delicious. Thank you. Fabulous and cosy and so delicious. We walked 16km and then pub-crawled Inverness trying to decide where to eat. So glad we found you The Waterfront

Good food and friendly efficient staff. Lots of 'creamy' food, ie sauces and dauphinoise potaotes, for example but fortunately for me there was also a fish mixed grill. It was really tasty and no sauce required. The pea shoots tasted fresh as did the small side salad which came with starter of mushrooms though slightly spoilt by too much dressing (I wish it was either on the side or it's a choice to get). The muscles were very tasty by all accounts. Bit unfortunate that wine by the glass was limited in choice but we managed 🤭. Very clean venue and recommended. Had a very enjoyable afternoon here.

El asado del domingo de hoy fue uno de los mejores que he tenido en años , Carne gruesa tierna bien cocida con pudín de yorkshire y verduras y patatas en un tazón separado y una jarra de salsa . Si no viviera a más de 350 millas de distancia este gran pub sería mi parada cada semana. El lugar no estaba lleno y nos dimos cuenta de algunos transeúntes por mirar y caminar, bueno, hay pérdida porque dudo que haya mejor comida en Inverness. Gran personal era muy amable y el chef incluso salió y habló con todos los que comen en el pub. 5 estrellas de mí.

Ci sono stata oggi a pranzo con il mio ragazzo, abbiamo preso 2 fish and chips, 1 garlic bread e due birre. Il fish and chips era fantastico, il migliore che io abbia mai mangiato. Pesce di ottima qualità e panatura croccante. Le porzioni molto abbondanti. Voto servizio: 10. La cameriera molto disponibile e simpatica. Se dovesse esserci occasione ci tornerei sicuramente.

Fantastic energetic friendly service, delicious food, cozy Scottish ambience. We loved it that much we came back for a second visit the night afterwards and sampled further things off their menu, our only disappointment was that we were too full from the starters and mains to sample their desserts! Highly recommend!

Great pub on the river Ness. Good options for vegos. Friendly service and excellent food. We didn't book as we were quite early, but it was quite busy for a weeknight.

Our servers made amazing gin cocktail recommendations. They also were humored by our first time eating haggis, neeps and tatties.

We were staying in inverness for 3 days as running Loch ness marathon so booked early as knew area would be busy, it looks really nice from website, it is quiet expensive, but you dodnt mind paying if the food is good quality, sadly was left very disappointed, the vegetables were not fresh, tinned or frozen, 2 new potatoes and 2 spoons of vegetables the smallest Scottish salmon which had been burnt and removed skin no flavour, no sauce served on a lettuce leaf and 2 slices of tomato with like a knob of garlic butter not melted stuck on top, even the pork belly skin was not crispy, red cabbage from a jar, Bill £60.40 tomato soup with bread, stanards breaded mushroom, salmon, pork belly and 2 lemonades will not be returning and wouldn't recommend, small portions main meal

This was our last evening in Inverness and we wanted something different so we chose the gastropub on the river. We were very pleased. I had cullen skink (excellent) and sea trout (also excellent). The service was great and a pleasant place to enjoy. Also met a nice couple from the states (and their little one) and enjoyed visiting with them.

Lovely Food and nice service. We visited before the football and would definitely return. I had the Haddock, delicious.

We walked in without a booking on a Saturday, so we’re grateful for a table. We were told we could be seated in 10 minutes, so ordered a drink at the bar first. Staff were attentive and pleasant on ordering, but we did feel we were ‘in the way’ for the rest of the staff. We were seated just after 2pm, to be told lunch service had finished. It would have been nice to be told that when we came in, but otherwise the food was really nice. Limited options, but we found something for everyone and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Pricey, but would recommend. Book ahead, if you can.

Booked this restaurant in advance. When we were seated, it was beside the ladies' toilets, so it was not a great start. Bread served to the table. I personally did not like it. Large menu, so lots of choices. My seafood platter starter was a good size. However, it was all a little weird. Salmon mouse didn't have much taste. The prawns were rubbery, and the salmon was covered in sauerkraut which I felt didn't go. My husband had the thai fish cakes, which he said were tasty. However, literally the size of a 2 pound coin x 2 so very disappointing. The main I had prawn enchiladas which was served with rice, again a strange pairing. The actual enchilada was nice however I should of chosen chicken as the prawns were not nice. My husband had the smallest piece of chicken on a plate which was again disappointing. The wine was really nice & a great price. Fed 2 courses and out within 40 minutes which is crazy! The place was busy, so that's a good sign. Just unfortunately, it's not for us.

Parfaitement situé en bordure du centre d'Inverness, soit au parfait endroit pour se balader tout en trouvant des places pour se garer :D Le Waterfront a une très bonne réputation à Inverness et ça se sent : le restaurant était blindé à notre arrivé ! Nous avons tout de même pu avoir une table. Au menu, plein de plats typiquement Ecossais dans une ambiance elle-même typique. Grand bar et encore plus grand choix de whisky et de bières, comme il se doit dans ce pays ! Le défaut de cette popularité principal ? Nous avons bien du attendre une trentaine de minutes que notre serveuse vienne prendre notre commande et probablement autant de temps avant que la commande en question n'arrive. Ne soyez donc pas pressés si vous jetez votre dévolu sur le Waterfront... Du côté des plats, rien à redire ! Agneau et petits légumes d'un côté, tourte à la viande dans sa whisky sauce et petits pois de l'autre (plus légère que je ne le craignais). De bons plats écossais, en quantité raisonnable (on est vite dépassé par la taille des plats en Ecosse...). Est-ce qu'ils méritaient 1h / 1h15 d'attente ? Pas certain, mais l'estomac était satisfait.

We had a group of 8 for lunch this place was recommended by our tour driver and they said they were done serving lunch and it was 10 min till 1pm... our driver could not believe it! Neither could we, I guess they just don’t need $$$. They said that they needed to clean the fryers by 2:30.... not sure what that meant but our driver says he will never bring his guests here again.

My wife and I stopped in for a pint and dessert since we had a meal prior to walking up and down the river ness. This was also close to our accomodations. We ordered the Edinburgh castle cask ale, and the staff was very friendly as well. We had butterscotch custard for dessert. It was a very nice atmosphere.

No hacer una reserva pero estaban comiendo un poco temprano y nos dieron una mesa. Tuvimos algunos, buena cerveza y buenos platos de la cocina local. Venado, un pastel de carne con cerveza y la noche especial, un cordero y menta tarta eran nuestros platos. Todos eran muy buenos, y la salsa que vinieron a bañarse las patatas era excelente - esta Viniendo de alguien que no comer salsa!

Servicio amable, buena comida, por Inverness, con precios muy razonables. La única decepción fue la calidad de la oferta de ale - parecía bueno, pero tenía un sabor metálico. Una pena porque hemos tenido buena calidad real ale aquí en el pasado.

I went with friends as i am familiar with the head chef the food was terrible i had venison and my friend had fish when i later spoke to the head chef who i know personally said to get me bk he dropped my venison on floor before cooking and served it luckily i only had one bite but he did say he does this on a regular basis so i wouldn't advise anyone to go there for food while he still works there

We went a few weeks ago when we were in town for music on Thursday night. Make a reservation if you want to eat while the live music is playing. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere so much we went back for a quiet lunch on Friday. Good food and friendly staff.

Auf Zwischenstation in Inverness hat uns die Empfehlung unserer B&B Vermieterin in das Waterfront gebracht. Essen und Bedienung waren so gut, Portionen gross, dass wir 2 Abende da waren.Insbesondere Donnerstags wegen Live Musik empfiehlt sich eine Reservierung.

A ridosso del centro c'è questo piccolo locale affacciato sul fiume Ness, dove si mangia bene si beve bene, con una buona selezione di whiskey, e si paga il giusto. Se si è in zona è da provare.

Situato sulla riva,è ottimo per una breve passeggiata lungo fiume, un punto centrale, il centro è sull'altra riva,si deve solo attraversare il ponte. La scelta di piatti è ampia, tutto quello che viene servito è cucinato sul momento. Noi abbiamo apprezzato sia i primi e secondi di pesce, sia i secondi di carne e selvaggina. Personale affabile e serate di musica live.... anni 70/80

Had a good 'highland fling' breakfast here a couple times, good value snacks in a nice lunchtime environment.

Food was good, a little on a salty side, which was not at all a problem. Portions were generous. Cullen Skink was super creamy and full of flavour. Mains were served in good time, all in all a good experience! Thank You for a lovely meal!

Am a bit baffled by some of the poor reviews on here?I can be a bit demanding when it comes to eating out,but a recent meal here was excellent,both in terms of quality of food and value for money.We were in a group and everyone was pleased with their meal.A busy place,would advise booking,especially at the weekend.

We had planned to return to one of Inverness' fine dining restaurants but decided something simpler was called for so came to The Waterfront on our innkeepers recommendation and it was an excellent choice. This is a very friendly pub with a good mix of locals and visitors. The beer selection was good and the food was excellent. Those of our party that had the fish and chips were very pleased but everyone enjoyed their meal.The only slight problem was that we seemed to have a rotating cast of servers and the communication between them was a bit frustrating. That said, we'd happily return and will make a reservation next time.

Se pensate che il waterfront sia solo un pub vi sbagliate di grosso! I piatti proposti sono da ristorante, davvero gustosi. Noi abbiamo mangiato un ottimo antipasto di pesce affumicato, scampi fritti ed echilada con gamberi e verdure. Tutto buonissimo, personale cortese ambiente caldo e accogliente: consigliatissimo!

Pub furnishings with little of the appeal. Waitress fussed about us sitting at the window but the place WAS empty. No outdoor seating. And, you need to imagine a river even with a window seat. One roll appeared cooked; the other looked raw. Both were cold. The butter was extremely soft. Not sure what the congealed stuff was - balsamic vinegar? Meals were decorative but not cohesive; sides were truly on the side. Smoked fish lacked smoke. In short, the place was just depressing.

Abbiamo cenato qui durante il nostro soggiorno a inverness...locale molto carino un mix fra un pub e un ristorante! Ti accolgono offrendoti mini panini (pane vero :-) ) con burro e una riduzione di aceto balsamico , i piatti che abbiamo ordinato erano ben presentati e cucinati bene e molto buoni! Abbiamo apprezzato tutto! Interessante anche la lista di whisky per chi è appassionato!

Sul lungofiume, un piccolo e caratteristico ristorante dall'aspetto di un pub: il salmone era ottimo, il servizio impeccabile, abbiamo chiuso con un ottimo whisky tra una vasta scelta. Spesa nella media, siamo usciti molto soddisfatti.

Probamos dos tipos de salmón y ambos estuvieron muy ricos. Nos atendieron rápido. La cerveza también muy rica. El precio lo normal en Escocia incluso por debajo que en otros lugares. Recomendable

Our hosts at the B&B recommended this restaurant. We'd had a long day in the car so we enjoyed the short walk..maybe 2 blocks.We were seated almost immediately. It was very busy and we were told that they would need the table an hour and a half after we were seated. We were well finished with the meal long before the 1 and 1/2 hour time was up.The food was very good. We were all pleased with the meal and drink. We had drinks at the bar before dinner. Bar service was slow... but they were very, very busy. We were happy we were able to get seated and a meal.

Sind auf Empfehlung hingegangen ohne Reservierung.Haben direkt ein Tisch bekommen und wurden super bedient!Essen war voll in Ordnung, immerhin ein Pub und kein Sternerestaurant.

After a long day in the car going through the Highlands, we hiked about two blocks here on the recommendation of our innkeeper. Nice setting on the riverfront. Weren't busy when we arrived, were seated right away. I had the pheasant, a first for me. It was excellent, with nice sides. My wife was very happy with her smoked salmon. Good service, good prices.

Ohne Reservierung geht am Wochenende nichts. Wir haben reseviert und einen super Abend verbracht. Das Essen war Ausgezeichnet und Frisch zubereitet. Sehr zu empfehlen ist jede Art von Fisch und Muscheln. Das Ambiente ist gut und an diesen Abend mit Live Musik war die Stimmung super. Leider war am Ende die Bedienung ein wenig unaufmerksam doch das hat der Chef kompensiert.gerne wieder

Family Party of six enjoyed a terrific evening! Very accommodating and fun restaurant. Excellent food and drinks. Recommendations would be recommended for peak times. You can't go wrong here!

Ottima birra scozzese e non solo, tipica accoglienza del posto è ottimo cibo!Molti piatti di pesce e non solo, tutti squisiti!! Non è un semplice pub come ci si potrebbe aspettare dal di fuori ma è capace di impiattamenti degni di ristoranti e ricette squisite!! Fuori, vi aspetta il fiume Ness, stupendo al tramonto! Enjoy!

Gorgeous little pub, friendly service, fast service and nice food; they were kind enough to fit us in on a busy evening without a booking, and the Posh Fish was lovely, as was the local beer

We expected a typical pub with typical pub grub when we went to the Waterfront restaurant in Inverness and were surprised when the host asked us if we had reservations. We did not, and the only available table was a hightop that was squeezed in between a post and the bar with barely enough surface area to rest an elbow and hoist an ale. If I had known then how good this place was I would've been happy to sit on a bucket in the kitchen. We ordered the baked salmon and a flight of whiskeys. The salmon was incredible! Topped with a delicious cream sauce and served with seasonable vegetables I nearly ate my way right through the plate. Our stay in Inverness was brief and this was on our last night there but I am confident that the Waterfront deserves the highest recommendation. Best meal we had in Scotland by far.

We were recommended to go to the Waterfront for an evening meal and were not disappointed. I would happily recommend the locally produced food and the real ale. The was a warm atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant.

Stopped by without a reservation. Was recommended to us along with a couple other restaurants by our Guest House owner. We stopped in fairly early, otherwise we might not have gotten a table. It's small, with only about 12 tables. Food was great, wine was high quality and reasonable and service was very good.

Continuously impressed with this little gem. The food and service is excellent and the quality of the food is second to none. It is a very busy little place so booking is strongly advised as you may be disappointed if you just turn up.There is an extensive menu that is reasonably priced. The staff are welcoming, friendly and the service is swift but you are not rushed. The location is good with window seats looking out onto the beautiful river Ness.

Ce pub traditionnel écossais situé un peu à l'écart du centre de la ville mérite le détour ! L'accueil est plutôt sympathique pour l'Ecosse, le service efficace et la carte est variée.Les plats sont servis généreusement et sont vraiment bons. Le rapport qualité-prix est également très correct.

I visited the pub whilst traveling with a tour around Scotland. We were there on a Sunday evening and there was really good live music being played. The portions were big and the food was really good, everyone was satisfied with it. The only thing I wished different is that not all the ingredients were listed on the menu. Therefore I had mushrooms and zucchini in my food, which I both don't like. I was easy to just put aside but it would have been easier to know that stuff is in the food.

Le poisson était bon. La viande horrible (volaille pas cuite, boeuf immangeable). Résultat mitigé. Service trop stressé. Restaurant bondé. Un mauvais soir peut-être mais même face à l'afflux de touristes un bon restaurant doit savoir faire face. Donc pas terrible.

Went there with family, had great starters and 2 sets of mixed grill and fish and chips. The fish and chips portions were huge for the price (2 pieces of fish each) and were fantastic. The mixed grills were apparently fantastic as well. They had a great selection of beers and ales. The staff was very welcoming.The only thing I would recommend is better air con or some kind of air con at all. It gets very warm in there, it's usually full and the amount of hot food served makes it really sweaty at times.

Visited here with my husband and 6 year old son on a Tuesday lunchtime. Would have driven by this place if it wasn't for searching places to eat on Trip Advisor! Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly waiter, car parking bay outside, on the banks of the river... Lovely A+++

Really disappointing lunch, we quick stopped here for grabbing some lunch and all 3 of us were really disappointed. Food was brought to table coldish, Chicken salad with very dry chicken and salad dressing was crap. Wild mushrooms in the soup were not cleaned properly and still had moss and dirt on it, really put us off it when we saw. Baked pasta on tomato sauce was again cold, tomato sauce tasting like just out of a tin and nothing else, plus some low quality cheese on top. Also you don't really have the choice of choosing 2 starters for its normal price neither, you will be charged for the whole "lunch deal" even if you ask for two starters. No wonder the place was really empty, never again!

hyggelig lille pub, maden var ok ikke det bedste vi har fået på vores ferie, øllen var dog bedst. god og venlig betjening.

Gentleman (manager?) who showed us to our table not very friendly, bordering on being rude. Table at back of restaurant which was noisy with waitresses setting up plates and manager shouting instructions to them. Also very incredibly draughty with kitchen door opening constantly throughout our dinner. Restaurants shouldnt be that cold during the summer! Not exactly a relaxing or pleasant atmosphere to dine in which is a shame as the pub itself is pretty cosy.Food was ok, starters nice- brie wedges- but main courses pretty poor. Chips under cooked and soggy, seafood misto seemed to be a variety of poor quality frozen breaded fish deep fried. Dined here before but probably wont return.

Fine place for pub grub and does everything you would want well from a place like that, without ever blowing you away.

We had Sunday lunch which was good value. Our table had a nice view of the river Ness. The food was basic but nice - we had vegetable soup, battered mushrooms, roast beef and baked salmon. The presentation could have been better but the food was just what we were looking for. Nice relaxed atmosphere

Went here on a Friday night, very busy but still Good service, food lovely and reasonably priced. Pictures are blackened chicken and highland mixed grill. Worth a visit

Zoals de naam laat vermoeden, gelegen op de dijk van een kanaal of rivier. Toen wij er waren (op zaterdagmiddag) was het er rustig maar we zaten er niet alleen en da's altijd een goed teken. Het is een pub-restaurant met goede keuken en parking. Vanop die parking word je verleid door heerlijke grillgeuren. Vriendelijke bediening, goedkope lunchformule (soep + maaltijd) en zeer lekker voor die prijs.

My wife and I had just arrived in Inverness and The Waterfront was one of the recommended restaurants within walking distance of our BnB. We arrived around 6pm and the place was very busy. Of course we did not have a reservation, but they found a small table for us just the same. The dinner was excellent.

Restaurant sympathique où il faut absolument réserver car sa réputation n'est plus à faire. Poisson frais, bien préparé, service efficace et prix tout à fait raisonnables.

Attention, pensez à réserver! L'accueil au bar est cordial mais les serveuses sont adorables. De très bons plats typiquement écossais (le steak and ale pie est très bon). Profitez également d'une pinte de bière de la région.Certains soirs, il y a des musiciens!

Die Speisen waren teilweise schmackhaft. Zu empfehlen ist die "Käseplatte" als Vorspeise. Generell wird hier "sehr zurückhaltend gewürzt". Ich habe es als fade und geschmacksarm empfunden. Salz oder Kräuter waren an den Kartoffeln nicht zu erkennen, Öl, Balsamico oder sonstiges Dressing am Salat - Fehlanzeige. Vorurteile über die britische Küche werden hier bestätigt.

During our two night stay we went to the Waterfront twice - the atmosphere and the food on the first night was so nice that we did not bother to look for an alternative and we booked a table for the next night as well.On the first night, we came in without a reservation and the pub was completely full. But the staff was extremely helpful and nice and we were seated at the bar first and waited for 20 minutes until a table became available.The pub offers a good selection of pub favourites with some nice specials: we had a venison & chicken burger (The Stag and Hen) which tasted absolutely fantastic - definitely one of the best burgers we had in quite some time.The steak and ale pie was also very delicious.For the seoncd night we booked a table in advance which was very good, since this time quite a number of people were rejected due to the pub being fully booked as well as the fact that a Scottish duo was playing that night (which is the case every Tuesday and Thursday). The food was delicous again (two starters and a mixed grill platter as a shared main).A great pub experience and highly recommended when in Inverness.

Restaurante pequeñito pero con comida muy buena, platos de la zona con productos de la zona, nada de haggis ni fish & chips para variar. Precio económico, comimos dos personas por 25 libras.Uno de los sitios donde mejor comí, no solo de inverness si no de toda escocia

Came here tonight with husband and two boys. Wasn't sure as I expected it to be quite expensive and the portions to be small. The blonde waitress that served us was lovely, efficient, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious we ordered the mix grill which was massive (enough for two) mixed grilled seafood (very tasty) fried mixed seafood (tasty but not as brill as the other three dishes) queenie scallops (loved them) the food came quickly and I was extremely happy with the quality and portion size. Very glad I went there x

My wife & i had a meal here, what a pltefull of steak. Definetley reccomend this place if you are visiting Inverness.

We hebben een heerlijke hertenbiefstuk gegeten.Groente erbij had wel iets gaarder gekund maar de wijn vergoedde weer veel. Goede sfeer en snelle bediening.

While driving into Inverness from Skye, we reached a bit late and decided to try and catch an early dinner before we head out to our booked accommodation which was a bit outside the city. We tried to make reservations a few places but as luck would have it only waterfront could accommodate our party of 8. And i am glad...as it turned out to be a great evening...it is wonderfully located on the river front ...great food. I Tried the cajun chicken which turned out to be probably the best meal i had in the Scotland till then. A good meal selection and good service. Found the main guy behind the bar a bit stiff initially but i figured he just was natured like that and it didnt really affect the evening. His service lacked nothing however and was efficient. We had encountered such warm and friendly smiling people everywhere in Scotland so i guess just that may be a reason for this impression for me. Overall a great evening and great food. Well priced and value for what we had.

We got a table very fast even without a previous reservation. But would recommend doing a reservation if more than 2 people. Good and rich dinner.

Last minute choice for family dinner. Boy was I glad I booked in advance the place was full the whole time I was there. People waiting for an hour on a table. First class service fantastic food and not to pricey either. Definitely returning back to the waterfront.

Bij binnenkomst meteen een overweldigende azijnlucht. Ondanks een tafeltje in de buurt van een open deur bleef dit onaangenaam. Er kon geen glimlach vanaf bij de barman, en het duurde lang voordat we naar ons gereserveerde tafeltje werden gebracht, Het eten was oké, de dames van de bediening ook, maar is zou hier niet nog eens heen gaan en het ook niet aanraden.

Lovely location by the river, friendly service, accommodating management (we were a party of 8), delicious, well-prepared and promptly served meals, tasty bar drinks, family friendly dining. Can't say enough about this place! In fact, we ate there our first night in Inverness - our B&B hosts (Torridon Guest House! Great people and comfortable rooms!) having made reservations for us. We then immediately reserved again for a second night, just so we could all try other menu options!

Our group of 8 included two children and two seniors. The atmosphere was welcoming to all, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! We came back again the next night, we loved it so much!

Our innkeeper recommended this pub. We were able to snare a table on a Friday night in July without a reservation even with the Scottish Open in town. I was very happy with the value and service. Hubby & I shared the pate starter - mmm. Then had the baked salmon in a delectable butter sauce - cooked perfectly. Nice large portion. Very satisfying and does not break the wallet.

L endroit n est pas exceptionnel mais le pub est typique, l endroit vivant, il y a régulièrement des petits concerts de musique ecossaise. La cuisine est une cuisine de pub. Les moules sont à éviter, pas fraîches et sauce sucrée (!). Le poulet était juste correct.

Always love coming to the waterfront, they have an amazing choice for vegetarians and the portions are great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff as well.

Make sure you pay a visit to this great place who offers high quality fish and seafood dishes (the best I've had in UK so far).

First visited on a Tuesday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Returned following Tuesday to eat (excellent, above average pub food) and enjoy the live music. Great atmosphere and always busy. We were lucky to get a table

Just popped over and the staff was very nice and went out of their way to accommodate us in a busy afternoon. The food and drinks were great.The was a Scottish folk singer (Thursday 8.30), who made the atmosphere even better.

Went on a Thursday night for a meal.Probably the best in town.Great music from Kenny and his guest singer "Border John" who was a really good singer.

Really, really good... brilliant menu, nice service, clean loos and right by the river. I would be delighted to return next time I am 500 miles from home!!

The food in this very busy pub/restaurant is amazing! Very extensive menu. My friend had a steak and said it was the best she ever had. I had swordfish that was 2 inches thick! Very attentive staff and great prices. Book ahead as it is one of the most popular places to eat.

We are locals and had heard that the Waterfront was good for dinner so we went along on a Wednesday evening.It was quite busy but we got a table and looked at the extensive menu.The food appeared quickly mine was tasty enough I had chicken with a BBQ sauce and it was hot, but my OH had the most awful looking fish dish I have ever seen!! It was supposed to be fritto misto - but what appeared was a plate of brown fried bits.....needless to say he ate very little of it... we wont be in a hurry to go back.Also one thing for me was the barmans annoying cough - I'd really like to have seen him cover his mouth to prevent the spread of germs.Lots of nicer and better value places to eat in Inverness I have given them a generous 3 stars ***

We enjoyed some beers and a delicious pub dinner while watching the England-Iceland match. The steak and ale pie is delicious. Everyone is very friendly and they let you try shots of beer until you find one you like. Some of the restaurants on the same street are really expensive but The Waterfront offers reasonable prices for tasty food.

Varied menu; lovely evening meal, good value for money. Friendly staff, good vibe. I went with a friend on a Thursday and booking is recommended as the place was full.

Dieses Restaurant wurde uns auf der Straße von einem Passanten und von Freunden,die 2Wochen vor uns da waren wärmstens empfohlen. Wir sind während der Mittagszeit dort gewesen und haben für wenig Geld 8 £ pro Person exclusive Getränke lecker und ausgefallen gegessen. Die Bedienung war äußerst freundlich und bemüht, trotz unserer eher schlechten Englischkenntnisse , alles nach unserer Zufriedenheit zu gestalten. Das Lokal hat eine sehr urige Atmosphäre. Wenn wir in Inverness sind immer wieder gerne. Weiterhin wurde kostenloses W-Lan angeboten, welches wir aber nicht in Anspruch genommen haben. Auf Werbeplakaten im Inneren wurde auf wechselnde Musikveranstaltungen abends hingewiesen.

We hebben hier echt super lekker gegeten : gegrilde zalm met nieuwe aardappelen en verse groenten : dit restaurant is een aanrader

Wir haben den Pub aufgrund der positiven Bewertungen aufgesucht. Das Essen war gerade mal wohlwollend Durchschnitt. Der Kellner wollte das Wechselgeld nicht mehr herausgeben, hat es bereits als Tip für sich verbucht. Nach Rücksprache spielte er den Ahnungslosen, gab das Wechselgeld aber heraus. Mein Status für diesen Pub: Kirmesbude. Wir sind in der letzten Woche in Schottland weitaus besser eingekehrt in der gleichen Preisklasse.

They very kindly allowed our trainee guide dog in, and gave us a table with plenty of space for him. Service was quick and nearly efficient ( they forgot the chips for my main course ), but the food was disappointing. The fish and chips had soggy batter and the steak in the mixed grille was tough and stringy. The chips were only just cooked and not very nice.Atmosphere was good.

Busy, lively and welcoming. Good food, friendly service and on the night we visited, a good Scottish singer/guitarist. Definitely recommend. Make sure you book.
