The Waterfront Beefeater Grill in Swansea

Looks nice and great location. Did not try the food or drink or the ambience

We went there twice. Great value for money. Staff was very attentive and didn't have to wait long for our food. I would definitely recommend.

Great premier inn and good location for exploring swansea. Clean, great service, does what it says on the tin, had the full breakfast buffet overlooking the waterfront and great value. Would definitely visit again

we really enjoyed the beef dinner and steak and loaded triple cooked chips. service was good and good location on the waterfront.

I suppose the place is supposed to smell of cooked steak, but I think they have overdone it , people dont want their clothes and hair to smell after they leave. Service was good , quick and friendly. Beer was fine. I ordered Halloumi burger. I know it's a meat based restaurant, but you have to put some effort in with alternatives. Chips were not hot, warm at best. The main issue though was the halloumi. it was tasteless, never had halloumi that tasted of nothing before. Also the main thing about serving halloumi is that it grills very well. You can get a few thinner pieces and grill them and put them together. The piece served to me though was massive, and not cooked at all, just warmed though (in the microwave?). Very disappointed with something I thought would be impossible to mess up.

Service not gd v slow.Not asked if food ok. V few prawns in prawn cocktail far too much lettuce not chopped well.Chips were cold all 4 meals told waitress when collecting plates just said sorry. If someone had bothered to ask if we were happy with meal it could have been rectified instead we all left our chips/skinny fries. We asked for bill paid it.Just after a waitress came over & said have you got any discount vouchers we felt she wanted us to go !! Loved it after 1st visit not impressed this visit will not hurry back.😫😪

Went for dinner with my partner last night and the food was absolutely incredible! Service was fast and friendly. All food came out really quick despite it being fairly full. We were greeted by manager ‘Owen’ who was extremely friendly & very professional. Our server ‘Luke’ was amazing - friendly, bubbly and extremely helpful. We had 3 courses as every course we had was so good, we had to have another. The menu has loads to chose from. Highly recommend the beef eater waterfront and the experience was so good that we’ve decided to come back to try the breakfast today. Thanks staff x

Extremely understaffed, waited over 2 hours for food and it was too late then to have the 2nd course as children had become inpatient. When brought up with waitress thet seemed to not care

Lovely meal pleasant and helpful staff.

I have always been there for a nice breakfast and staff, once I found they had lunch and dinner, we went straight. However, I was disappointed about the experience. From two staff(one lady with short colour hair, and one gentleman who took the order)I didn't feel they appreciated my custom at all. Impatient, not engaging and unhelpful, all they showed me was that they were just working for someone. Might be because of that, the 72 pounds bill I feel it's average pub food for two, not worth it at all, no more for me to be treated without respect.

Surprisingly nice, I didn't expect it to be so good, the food was well prepared and reasonable portion sizes. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful.

On a busy NYE the food was brought out really quick. It tasted really nice and service was great by all staff.

Christmas meal here after the sad closure of The Pemberton where we've been having Christmas lunch for years. Lovely venue, very friendly staff and you didn't feel like you were being rushed and wanted to leave. Will be back again very soon.

I had a great meal and some good banter with who I think was the manager. Short, brightly coloured hair, very friendly and helpful and also very funny.

Large bit one of the best beefeaters in terms of consistent quality of food...service can be a little hit amd miss depending on business and large parties...generally ok..it a Beefeater busy with non premier inn residents given it location ...still 5 stars

Went in here for business on a Thursday evening. Decided to have a meal in the bar area but service was almost non existent. You had to pick up your own cutlery and condiments, they didn’t bring anything over. But some of the obvious condiments weren’t there so you still ended up queuing at the bar to ask for them. Food came, it was tasty but not overly hot. The ambient temperature in the restaurant was quite chilly.

I had a voucher, so I thought I would give them a try not been since Covid, it was mid afternoon, when food arrived only 1 buger in mine should of been 2 from there on all down hill. Not knowing I had been my son went 2 days after in the evening and he really enjoyed so maybe different staff, thats the problem with these places all depends on the staff.

The food is a bit pricey but you are by the waterfront, the half chicken didn't look cooked, looked like it was about to fly off the plate

Enjoyed our dinners here while we stayed in Swansea. Good food, friendly service (if a bit slow sometimes). Comfortable atmosphere. Parking on adjacent public car park.

Nice restaurant, good service. Food ordered and brought out reasonably quickly. The meal was hot and tasty. A little busy when we arrived but quieter by the time we left.

Really nice food, we had the evening special which included a starter, main and a drink. Food was hot, tasty and good value for money. The waiter a gentleman was very attentive, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Had the Steak Sampler, ordered medium and came out well done... had better in other Beefeaters to be honest...wasn't their usual high standards and it wasn't busy either.

We were only there for breakfast. The chef was doing his best, but they were unbelievably understaffed, and the restaurant was full. Fabulous spit though.

Visited on Wednesday night. Staff are excellent friendly and happy. Food good value. Some customers there that night should be ashamed of the way they speak to staff. They tried to use out of date voucher then became very abusive to female staff member. She remained professional and a credit to your company.

The lady (Katie?) with the very short colorful hair with buzzed sides had an extremely nasty attitude towards my family and my self. Terrible customer service from the start. Was very rude to my whole family for no reason. Essentially yelling at my elderly uncle. She also wouldn’t let us sit together bc they had no tables available, but at least half the place was empty?…. All the other employees were super friendly besides the one. Never experienced such terrible service at a restaurant. Appalled by how she treated us

Worse experience I have had in Swansea as a tourist We were talked down to by the hostess Katie … with the fluorescent multi colored hair but dull and dark attitude. Talking down to my gfs father who is 73 years old. We split the party of 9 to accommodate them since they had no tables available even though there were plenty of tables available. She then proceeded to talk down to us as we asked for the bill and tried to give her a code we had for the bill . My nice uncle tried to read her the code and she said “Speak Up”!!! He then tried to give her his phone so she could read the code and she said “ I’m not touching that” I’ve worked service industry all my life and have never seen such a disgraceful conduct by a staff of a “steakhouse”. Save your money and go somewhere that values their customers because this is not the place. A 8 oz sirloin is not worth the abuse lol P.s a disgrace of a Mac and cheese

Went there yesterday (25th August 2024- Swansea Waterfront Beefeater) for Sunday roast dinner, but found it was not available! Apparently, the restaurant had not ordered enough food! Very disappointed, as we were all looking forward to it - most of us ended up with fish ‘n chips, which isn’t what any of us (11 of us) wanted!

Went there tonight had the pie and mash with peas and gravy and will say was the best I've ever had,pie hot and crispy and the mash so flavourful and creamy, will be going back.

Lovely location. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended.

I usually have breakfast here, it's really nice, they have hash browns, steamed mushrooms, sausages, half boiled eggs and well done egg and variety of pastries and juices. You can enjoy breakfast with beautiful waterfront view.

Seriously understaffed. The poor woman, single handedly servicing an entire restaurant is doing a sterling job but she has been hugely let down by management/colleagues

Food was ok , if you a guest at hotel still book a table because they may not always accommodate you!

Ordered prawn and vegetable skewers. When it turned up it was 3 prawns on 2 skewers. 1 prawn on 1 and 2 on the other. Mostly red onion and aubergine. Cost £17.50... £17.50 for 3 prawns!! Shocking. Should be renamed veg skewers. And the 3 prawns I had were tasteless. When I queried it I was told thst was the potion. My son had the same, asked for no red onion so he just had aubergine and 3 prawns. Checked his salad, it had red onions in it. Sent it back and the new salad still had red onions in it. (he is allergic) won't be going there again. Only good thing was the waitress was polite.

Chicken cob salad and avacado. No avacado on the plate in fact none in the building. The server was rather brash with it and not very sympathetic.

Lovely food and a good atmosphere

Nice food with a view of the dock. Comfortable and clean too. Only downside was the number of different menus was a bit confusing - the meal under £8 menu, advertised outside the restaurant, turned out to be before 5pm when we went in, so not much use for teatime!

Booked with Premier Inn and then told no tables available

I ordered a chicken salad. Both of our servers were frirndly and professional. The chicken was very dry and bland. Overpriced food for the poor quality.

Went to eat at 7pm expecting a busy restaurant, it was half full but no staff were present. Myself and my wife and newborn child waited 10mins to be acknowledged, we also had to carry a pram down the stairs, no doors open on arrival or welcome and when we were spoken to by the shift manager who wasn't helpful at all, we were told a 2 hour wait. This was apparently due to "reservations" when there were clearly a staffing issue and they blamed it on half term when the restaurant was full of older people. They made no effort to accommodate me or my family this evening so I wouldn't recommend this place as welcoming or friendly and I definitely won't visit this place again, they've lost my business for life.

Poor portions and not welcoming

Took family here for lunch. Throughly disappointed. Steaks weren't cooked correctly , portions are too small for the price.When my plate were placed on the table I thought it was a child's portion. Service was slow. When we complained about the steaks the server snapped towards my elderly uncle. I have to give one star for the review to go through but I would honestly give it minus 10. Save your money in these tough economical times. Go to McDonald's you'll have a better experience.

our waiter was good for a party of 17. but food fell short of expectation. Out of 4 steaks only 1 eaten. Medium rare came out blue. 3 medium 1 well done. 1 rare and 1 leather.

I just wanted to say how brilliant Cheryl was: I’d had a rubbish day and was tired and asked her to surprise me with a nice gin to go with my food. She was super friendly, made a great choice and just had a natural way of providing great service that you would would want to see in any venue. Thank you Cheryl 👏

Stopped here for the lunch time deal today. Was a really nice chilled atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The manager (Owen I think his name was) very friendly and helpful. Food was stunning. 😊

Although service was very good the meal wasn't wet fish with sloppy batter and the chips were not cooked enough disappointed 😑

Nothing but positive things to say about the beefeater, friendly and welcoming staff, lovely food cooked and served well. Great environment, good energy, we really enjoyed our visit. Staff are very accommodating, positive and smiley. Big shout out to ‘Shez’ they didn’t stop on both our visits, genuine lovely person, big personality, friendly, helpful and so kind to our son, remembered us during our visit to Swansea and really made our experience pleasant. They are a credit to the team. Will be back next time in Swansea

Lovely food as usual friendly staff and cracking location

No ribeye left so ordered fillet steak. It was dry and overcooked. Jacket potato and sweet potato Fries no longer on the menu. No BBQ sauce. Only one bottle of water available. Presentation of food was slap-dash. Poor waitresses rushed off their feet so service was slow. Definitely will not be returning.

Food was good. Not wowing, but great for pub grub.

Us girls always meet up for breakfast once every 3 weeks. We like to try different places too. When we decided to try here we were very impressed. The service was outstanding, variety of food spot on and it was all hot. nothing was to much trouble for the staff if we asked for something we could not see. Will definitely be calling back again 😁

Food was OK if ur just hungry and want to spend £12 it's what you would expect in a beefeater.we just tried it for dinner wouldnt book to go for a nice meal in the evening.

We ate hear 2 nights running, on the Monday night it wasn't all that full which is how I like it, We where seated next to the quayside so had waterfront views while eating, I ordered the Lasagne and chips and Sue had the Sirloin steak, we used a voucher we had and got the meal for less than £20, on the Tuesday it was more busy and we where seated by the door which was nice due to the cool breeze, I chose the Mixed Grill, wish I'd gone with the Lasagne again, have had better mixed grills, Sue had the Sirloin again and we used another which got us the meal for £23, I think we will stick to Brewers Fayres from now on

The chefs 2nd attempt (the 1st looked the same) at a fillet steak on Saturday night in beefeater waterfront, it's been "butterflied" apparently into a lumpy dogs dinner. (The other pic is the marketing photo for it!)

I went to the waterfront beefeater with my son and we had pukka food there the waiter there gave us excellent service and he was very polite and a very well spoken and manner gentleman. We enjoyed our meal there and We will go there definitely again because the food is so good and the service.

The family and myself walked into the Waterfront and asked for a table in the restaurant. The supervisor / duty manager advised us the restaurant is full. We were surprised with welcome we Initially received - not the best. We were advised after waiting 10 minutes to be seated that there are only seats in the bar area. After taking onboard the Duty Manager's recommendation, we proceeded to the bar area and placed our orders. These were: Fillet Steaks and one Rump Steak with chips. We waited about half and hour for the food to arrive as It was being cooked - fresh. The food arrived. The Steaks seemed like they were not from the grill and even lacking any warmth or scents of an Inviting meal. Our chips were very cold as well. We were very disappointed with paying £20.00 each for the fillet steak which I have tried better in 'The Marquis Arms - Fforestfach for only £11.00 which is HOT and Sizzling and even has fresh onions to accompany the meal. The chips are pre-cooked and kept behind the counter where the Chef works and are left to go cold. I noticed this when I used the lavatory - where the breakfast is served. Our bill was in the excess of £150.00 and to be forthright - was only worth £30.00.

Seated by the window alright to start with but got colder as the time went on. Restaurant wasn't very busy but staff were slow taking orders and didnt see them again until i caught the waitresses eye and said it was time to pay. Not impressed.

Start of i had something different other than gammon 🎉 Car park was £2.40 for 3hrs farthest side from the restaurant. What i found is theres not much on the menu from before and it seems pricey to. Me and the misses had burger chips coleslaw little one had chicken bits chips and obviously red sauce misses had nachos for a starter we also had deserts. We all had drinks aswell without the littles food it was just shy of £60. You can get a refillable coke zero as i was not offered this at the bar (thanks for that) Staff are tidy freindly restaurant is ok to its a tidy place for food. Will call again

Had a really lovely night out at this beefeater. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They weren't afraid to have a laugh and joke. The food was impeccable and cooked to perfection. I would not hesitate to come back again and would be happy to recommend it to friends and family.

Ignore the times it says open until 11pm just got refused service for a drink at 9.59pm. Just had a 5 hr journey as well.

It was our first visit to this beefeater, I didn't enjoy our food, we had starters and hadn't finished but the waiter asked to bring the mains over, we declined so we watched our food go dry under the heat lamps.. The table behind us had finished, the waiter began to clear the table, well I've never heard so much noise, from folding the wooden highchairs to the clashing of the plates, everything seemed to be a rush, which made us as a family feel uneasy.
