The Waterfront in Lambeth

nice restaurant, friendly staff, good food. the bill was expensive for what we ate. but above all the chef came to greet us: at the end of dinner a mouse was wandering around our table

I was astonished to read the review of the Waterfront by someone who is known as Jessica. Having visited the waterfront on several occasions, I think this review has had to be written by a disgruntled member of the of the public. I looked at Jessicas previous postings and quite frankly they speak for themselves, well done to the owner of Gurkha kitchen To have the back bone to stick up for his business, too many owners these days are frightened of trip advisor and just say thank you for your review why would you thank someone for that review?? Any way we were down on Monday and had great food needless to say the staff as always were attentive and pleasant. The lavatories were very clean as ALWAYS so in my opinion read between the line before relying on Jessica’s review !! I note she has been banned from Gurkha kitchen

I took a friend for lunch, remembering that some years ago we had a nice lunch in this riverside brasserie. Unfortunately it must be under a new management and none of us was impressed! I had booked in advance and the place was not busy when we arrived. We ordered starters and main courses. In a professional restaurant, one would not think that the food would arrive all at once! Unfortunately it did. So we had to rush through the starters, and immediately then tucked into the main courses which were already cold when they arrived and became even colder and rubbery! Why on earth would they serve the food all at once? What is the point to have starters on the menu? The waitress said that the restaurant has the policy of serving the food in one go, unless a customer specifically asks not to! Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous, considering that prices are quite high in this place. Careless attitude, and what it once was a stylish brasserie now looks tacky with all the fake flowers and flags, dishing out mediocre food served by unprofessional staff.

Unfortunately, this did not come anywhere near expectation. First haveing to sit and wait about 20 minutes for somebody to come and ask us what we wanted to drink, (it was not busy) Starters and mains came at the same time, never had that before. Food was a disappointment the Caesar salad was uninspiring, the bbq chicken wings were not bad. But they need to make cocktails properly, very little alcohol sweet and sticky View was good

The crispy calamari was so amazing - crispy, freshly made and super sauce. Was not so hungry so ate that and edamame beans (salted) which had a bit too much salt. Service was excellent and friendly.

Highly recommend taking the time to come and dine out at this restaurant. Food and drinks are absolutely divine! I came here with our family on our first night in London, and we were not disappointed. As with most restaurants in London, don’t be surprised when the bill comes to the table, but it really is worth every penny.

Enticed by the nice views, we were unfortunate enough to stop off at Waterfront London for refreshments on a Sunday afternoon stroll back from Battersea Park. Bill: 1 Peroni £6.75, 1 Americano £5, Service Charge £1.47. Total £13.22. What is this establishment? Is it a restaurant? Is it a cafe bar? Is it a Shisha bar? Is it a wrestling ring? The staff appeared to be uninterested in both their attitudes and behaviours towards customers. They universally appeared to be smokers openly smoking at the terrace bar. Some staff members were practicing wrestling holds on each other. The only time we were shown any meaningful attentiveness by a staff member was when we were leaving and were challenged about whether or not we had paid our bill. I have never been charged £5 for a coffee in London. Tea is also £5. This restaurant clearly does not rely on its income from it's restaurant or bar. I'm really glad we didn't order food.

Awful! First of all even trying to sit outside for a drink like going through hostile security. Bad service. Extortionate prices. And then inside the music is so loud a normal hearing person would go deaf. Charged £30 for 4 drinks- 2 of them just cokes.

£18 for 2x cokes ! I don’t really know what more to say, what more can you say when 2 soft drinks cost almost 20 quid! Absolute scam this place. Save your money!

Okay… I’m gonna be upfront. Going to do bullet points as I can’t be bothered to write an essay how awful this place it. Do not be fooled by these fake photos they probably stole from another place. - phone call to make booking. Girl name Paris… She clearly hates her job. Spoke to me like she don’t want to be there. - food took so long to come. Also it wasn’t that busy. THEY MADE ME PAY MY BILL BEFORE MY FOOD!!! What kind of scam is this !? - they made us change location to eat inside as they were closing.. and also they given us 30 min to eat as they were in a hurry to close on SATURDAY night. - £400 bill for the four of us including service charge. When it was the worst service possible. - Food was the worst. It’s million percent microwaved. - SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SPEND IT IN TESCO MEAL DEAL. SO MUCH BETTER.

A really great spot with amazing views, incredible food, and great service to boot. The sushi platter was amazing, so fresh and delicious and the drinks were on point. The music and atmosphere made for a great time with friends. Special thanks to the team who took great care of us, can’t wait to try the shisha.

Worst possible food. This is beyond ridiculous to serve such bad food in such an area. Expensive and food quality is poor! Avoid by all means

We really enjoyed our visit to the Waterfront, the staff were warm, and very helpful when guiding our friend who was meeting us down. The food was great with very generous portions. The tinest nitpick would be for a bit more seasoning on the fish in my Fish and Chips, but the texture of its coating was the best I've ever tasted, cripsy to perfection. Would definetly recommend!

Undoubtedly, the worst bar/restaurant that I have ever visited. We had 12 in our party celebrating two newly weds, we flew in from Dubai to join them and fully expected to have a great experience, we had anything but. This establishment is filthy, understaffed and no one has a clue what they are doing or how a bar/restaurant should be operated - chaos rules in this place. 11 of us received our food and had all finished before our 12th guest had even received his. Seriously, miss this restaurant /bar out and don't waste your money as the prices are extortionate as well. Totally dissatisfied with this filthy place that also tried to serve us drinks in dirty glasses!

Firstly, made a table booking and arrived with no table reserved and was told to ‘try find somewhere available if we want’. Secondly, ordered drinks on the app and waited +20min each time, had to go and chase the orders both times. THEN got charged a service charge?? What service? And the finale - we got chased outside the restaurant by the bar staff and got accused of stealing their ugly furry rugs??? Have you ever heard of anything more ridiculous. We had to prove this by showing we were not hiding anything. Bar staff need training or re-hiring.

Lucky to get 1 star! Reserved for NYE for a group of 6 so paid a total of £300. Once we get their they said they had to separate us which started our night sour. We arrived at 10pm, our food didn't arrive until 12am. Every time we asked when is our food coming they kept saying 5mins. The outdoor manager, was very rude, and patronising, it started raining heavily and he gave us no option apart from saying its raining what can I do, we got literally soaked. I would never employ him even he was the last person on earth. The owner was literally of no help. The amount of people who were dissappointed with their NYE in that place is a joke. Highly don't recommend!
