The Warrant Officer in Waltham Forest

Have been using this pub on regular basis for many years. The last 3 visits over the last month have disappointed. The pub is managed by the 'Wild Card Brewery' folk and has had NO Cask Bitters or Pale Ales available for the whole of the last month. Wild Card Brewery is less than a mile away. You couldn't make this up!

Overpriced food. Bean burger on its own they charge £12.00 chips a small basket £5.50 very overpriced

It's a rare thing - hipster where it matters (beers, good service, food) but resolutely old-school in all other respects. It looks like a local from the 70s. I loved it. Football on the telly a loyal local following, massive paved beer garden. I'm only leaving this review because no one will find it to read it, and that's fine. I will leave you with the toilet art in the gents (photo). Epic.

We took a couple of friends here for dinner the other night and the food was some of the best Japanese food ive had in London. There is a simple'Comfort' Food menu, and between us we tried most of the menu. Everything we were served was incredible ( the gyoza starter were unreal). My girlfriend and I returned the following Sunday as heard that Oishi Don who run the kitchen also do a roast, which again was amazing! Really fresh hot and tasty food.. The staff were friendly, and welcoming to the dog we had in toe. We highly recommend to anyone who loves Japanese food and unreal roasts

Really great Japanese menu. Ate with two vegan friends and the loved it. Good to see this pub open again.

Tavern on the Hill has lots of tables outside, lovely staff and great service. Sunday roast was delicious, lived up to their website, and looking forward to trying Fri/Sat brunch soon and evening Japanese food too!

Had a very nice brunch here. Family friendly staff and environment. Decoration is simple, would be nice to see a few sofas etc perhaps in the future as the inside, while clean and consistently furnished is somewhat basic. Breakfast was delicious. I had the Avocado Hummus and my wife had the Cauliflower option. I also had a lager which was excellent. Only criticism is that while they accommodated my request for a fried egg instead of a poached one. I requested that the egg be cooked over-hard, with the yolk being very firm/non runny but when it arrived it was a little bit runny. Small thing tbh - I'll definitely be visiting them to try more things from thier menu in the near future. 8/10 Would recommend

Como local que en cada unos pocos meses pop en la esperanza de algo ha cambiado con este prometedor local. En cinco años nada tiene. Pero confío! ! ! Como toda la gente que conozco que se han mudado aquí en los últimos cinco años o así, gastar mi dinero en mujeres más familiares y lugares como el castillo, el timbre o el Chequers en su lugar. Me encantaría un pub como este en Higham Hill. Por favor, puede alguien abrir uno! ! !Aspectos positivos- Personal muy amable.- Gran ubicación.- han comenzado a servir algo decente de buenos vinos.- Decoración tiene mejorar un poco (pero la alfombra asquerosa gris permanece.- aparentemente una cocina) está siendo construido, así que muy pronto, muy necesario en la zona, ya que hay actualmente sólo caff comida.Puntos negativos- intimidante para una mujer sola como es el tipo de lugar con hombres mayores sábado ida admirando. Como mujer siempre en minoría en este pub. No es un lugar familiar para parejas.- atrae un poco de elemento peligroso. Puede ser un poco de miedo. (ver arriba).- Se siente muy 'gente de la vieja escuela". Hay gente jugando a los dardos y todo el mundo se conoce. Nunca nadie aquí bajo 30.Música/es centrado en jam sessions 60 + grupo de edad, por ejemplo, 'con bandas de música y moda antigua de estilo pub.

Visited here for a few drinks, played some pool and darts, Juke box available to play music from too.

This is a pub that could have closed down a few years ago but now it's turned the corner and is on the edge of rapidly gentrifying Walthamstow. It looks like it need some investment to fully exploit it's possibilities but for now it is friendly and has pleasant staff. We went to see a band there and enjoyed ourselves.

This is my local pub, unfortunately I rarely visit. The people here are nice, the staff very friendly and publican is personable and engaging. The Sunday roast are very good. I would say it can step up and become the community centre by tweaking beer selection and serving food all the time. As camra says, for pubs to survive they need to add the gastro style. This has such great potential and a large catchment area, it is a diamond in the rough just waiting to polished.
