Nuestra segunda visita.

Thanks to Wanstead Kitchen for a delicious New Years take away dinner. Dishes cooked with care and love and much healthier than an average curry which we really appreciate. Excellent value too and always friendly service. We’re trying to eat more plant based food and this makes it easy, with some really tasty vegan options on offer. We intend to explore more of the menu, and try the weekend breakfast, but so far from the two meals we’ve had, (we also looked at previous reviews to choose) - highlights have been: Baji of the day- (delicious mixed veg, sort of stir fried, different to expected, not at all like a deep fried onion baji) Saag Beesi (spinach with pumpkin seeds on top - it isn’t dry, but a lovely mushy spinach) Maal (rich daal with mushrooms) Chickpea & pomegranate chat Okra fries (soft tasty okra, not deep fried) Chingri Malai (Prawn coconut sweet curry) Dhansak (Chicken) Thanks and see you again soon WK, we are very lucky to live so near!

This was one of the best take aways I've had. Excellent quality and so delicious. Will definitely be returning. I don't normally write reviews but felt I wanted to on this occasion as so deserved.

Merci encore.

Great meal delivered under the hour, all hot & fresh. Starters of onion/spinach pakora, veg samosas & poppadoms. Main course of lamb biryani (with daal side included), sabzi chicken, iftari kala chana (for veggie son), pilau rice & naan. All tasted fresh and cooked to perfection with delicate spices. Great to be supporting local too.

Some of the nicest Indian food that I have eaten in a long time. Packaging, delivery and most importantly the food were excellent. It is easily a cut above other Indian takeaways in the area. I will certainly be a returning customer.

Avoid these guys at all costs. We’ve now been waiting 3 hours for our ‘delivery in 1 hour’ service. Pathetic and unbelievable excuses but not a word of apology or - more importantly- any attempt to put things right My pregnant daughter in law needs to go to bed

I keep going here. Their Bangladeshi food is way above what you'd expect from your typical British Indian. They have a 'Classic' section on their menu for all the British favourites such as Tikka Masala and Balti, with an ever-so-polite caption reading "Proudly created in the Glaswegian, Birmingham and Brick Lane 'Indian' restaurants of the 70's", to differentiate these from the 'real' curries they offer. Their 'Specials' aren't inappropriately named; I've tried five or so at the time of writing and each one has been a treat for the tastebuds. I'm not great with very hot food and while these typically do pack a punch, they're full of flavour and the heat is used intelligently. I love trying things I've not eaten before and each time I learn a little more about how these are real curries and the 'Classics' are a bit bland in comparison. Having said that, their chicken tikka masala is one of the best I've ever had and I also sometimes order a lamb saag, which isn't actually on the menu but they are always happy to make. I'd also highly recommend the chicken tikka starter and the sag pakora; both are ace. We've also had breakfast there a couple of times at the weekend, which is a real treat. I stick to a full english (beef sausages, turkey bacon) which is really good whereas my more adventurous girlfriend has tried a few of the Bangladeshi options, which she absolutely loves. Finally, the guys working there are always really friendly and wave hello when I'm passing; they're a great bunch and seeing them frantically at work on a busy Friday night is a sight to enjoy in itself. They look very professional and couldn't be more keen to help. I normally get a takeaway but they do have a small number of tables if you want to eat in. It's a little bit more expensive than your regular Indian but once you try the food you'll realise why and I'm confident you'll think it's much better value for money! So basically I love this place. Go.

Unfortunately my two experiences of this establishment have both been abysmal. As I stared at the mural dedicated to Kenny the Tiger (plastered against the outside wall of this establishment) I couldn't help but feel that me and olde Kenny were sat in the same boat - both me and him had been well and truly 'striped up' by the Wanstead Kitchen (fyi it's not in Wanstead). So I ordered one singular curry, priced at £12.95, to be dilivered to my senile father living 300 metres away from the shop (hes currently petrified of leaving the house). After a whole hour and a half of waiting the curry still hadn't arrived. So I had to travel to the restaurant to ask what was going on. Then I met the most arrogant and condescending business man. Essentially it was my fault for using just eat and I couldn't get a refund for the delivery fee paid. What's quite funny is that the Mr Arrogant said he wasn't responsible for deliveries - he pays just eat for this service. So could Mr Arrogant let me know why his so called 'just eat driver' was trying his hand at cooking a curry at the back? To end insult to injury my father had crippling diarrhoea the entire day.

Never had a bad meal from Wanstead Kitchen. They have an excellent range of curries from the traditional 'british' favorites to a selection of dishes popular in Bangladesh. Plenty of dishes for those who want vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Eco-friendly packaging and ingredients, and good friendly service too. Top marks.

Literally the Indian restaurant we have all been waiting for ! They use a light oil and it really brings out the subtle flavours. Having said that I felt my dish was a little under scored on the chillie front - I like a hot curry. Will definitely definitely order from them again. The breakfast menu looks fantastic and I look forward to being able to visit

We’ve been ordering from the Wanstead kitchen for months now and have never had a bad experience. Their food is so fresh and flavoursome, it’s by far our favourite Indian in the area. Always such lovely staff when you go in or call up, smiley, helpful and very friendly guys. The vegan menu is divine and works so perfectly for our family of half vegans half meat eaters that we can order from one place and everyone is happy. Love love love!!!!

The quality of the food was poor , around just bearable . It’s clear they are trying to save money at the expense of food quality , would have been better off with beans on toast .

Invited by my two cousins and with a couple of friends we came here and what a lovely evening. Nice atmosphere, friendly and the food was excellent, we all had different dishes and I plumped for the Lamb Jalfrezi which was excellent. Staff very helpful and very attentive, a really nice dining experience.

5 star restaurant! Not only is this my favourite local restaurant this is probably my favourite restaurant for food! Just everything about this restaurant is great! From the owner, staff and always the best food! It never disappoints it’s always great every time! I always go with my husband and two children and the owners always make us feel welcomed and go above and beyond. Honestly I could come here once a week if I could! Definitely the best Indian food local and also in London in my opinion. I know there are other Indian restaurants that try and do it differently or a la carte but it’s never as good as this place. Please don’t change your chefs 😅 Thank you. See you soon Sophie & Family x
