First time visiting this wonderful restaurant with a beautiful summer feeling. Took my mum out for spot of lunch, to this quaint little eatery, right on the edge of the water makes you feel like you’re at the beach, lovely environment lovely staff great food and some really refreshing and uplifting to go for a change of mood, higher recommended.

An excellent dining experience. The service from my waiter, a young chap called Josey, was exceptional!

Wow! I cannot believe we haven’t visited here sooner. We visited on a Friday afternoon with 4 children in tow and were welcomed by friendly attentive staff. The food was lovely, the staff were great with the kids and we enjoyed doing the kids trail walk around the lakes. There is lots to do here and next time we might try the water sports and activities that are available! We will definitely be back… thank you!

A lovely location, but massively overpriced for very basic food.

I'm a great supporter of the Wandering Kitchen normally. However, i decided this Monday to visit in the evening. It seemed as if just Burgers and little else were on the menu. Why, when the daytime had so much taste within its dishes do their burgers have so little. Has the cook who makes them, in my case beef burgers, not heard of seasoning or herbs full stop. ! It seems not as they were supplanted by sauces and flavourings that were the only taste within. I nearly heaved when i opened up to see the large amount of fat on the bacon rasher within. Come on WK, you can do better at that price !

Especially good in summer on the terrace to see the lake and the barn swallows nesting in the eves. Winter, get by the log burner! Great food too!

Nice cafe with lovely staff.. we shared a sausage sandwich and chips which was nice with posh sausages, not catering (Which I also like anyway) I didn’t like the gravel car parking so not good for my motorbike. I was hoping for a walk around the lake but access was limited to a small area.

So cozy and lovely. log burner, big portions, seasonal appropriate decorations, the works. Big toasted sandwiches and plenty of chips - £10. Worth driving out to.

Really lovely lunch today. Very considerate of food intolerances, lovely friendly staff, and a beautiful setting. Followed by a walk round the lake. It's our first visit but certainly won't be our last.

Great place to stop after a brisk walk around the lake coffee & cake but much more on the menu

Lovely venue with a cosy atmosphere. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We went for the quiz night which was great fun. Also the best place to sit outside on a sunny day and admire the lake.

I've never been disappointed with the food and service, and I would definitely recommend it.

Dident eat there ,but food looks really nice. It was busy.

Been twice recently. Had a very burnt toasted sandwich, should have sent it back. Second time pancakes with fruit & yogurt which were OK. Atmosphere good, food ok. Car parking full of huge potholes

À wonderful place with a lovely view by the lake, pet friendly, great service and very friendly staff. One negative point, after heavy rain/flood, the access may not be car-friendly!

Cosy little kitchen overlooking the nearby lake. Can recommend the fish and chip special with minted peas and homemade tartar sauce 😋. Only downside is if you wanna go for a walk round the lake you have to pay a fee which is a bit of a pain.

A fabulous night out with the famalam, great entertainment and the food is absolutely lush and incredibly good value for money! Highly recommend and we will be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

What a lovely cafe this is! Right by the lakes at Berinsfield with some great food, friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere! I had the chicken katsu burger with some very funky chips - loved it!!

Fabulous food as usual? I had a wild boar burger with Stilton lovely! The staff are great and attentive but not overbearing! Last time I had a Sausage and red onion chutney sandwich with chips.😋

A useful cycle stop. Positioned next to a busy recreational water park, it rises above the mediocre. On our latest visit the kitchen had been depleted by the number of visitors before we arrived. However, my milkshake was impressive and my colleagues enjoyed cake, teas and coffee.

Amazing setting for a lazy afternoon lunch. Even on a cold day, the lake-facing balcony is a brilliant spot for a coffee and/or lunch. The katsu burger was really good (although the katsu sauce itself was needlesly diluted in mayo...) as was the halloumi burger. Super friendly staff and just outstanding atmosphere.

Lovely staff cake and setting, watching the water skiiing. Expensive, 2 x mocha and 2x cake all but 13 quid but in todays climate no surprise and driven by other things.

Nice cafe with water sport action to entertain, Brie and Cranberry toastie was very nice, chips needed 60 seconds more in the fryer for extra crispness. But overall good.

I have visited the wandering kitchen twice recently and love everything about it. The food is amazing, really good portions & all cooked to perfection (I have tried the boar burger & the beef burger so far, definitely recommend both) and I’d say one of the best cappuccinos I’ve had in a long time. A great friendly team & service and the setting is beautiful, especially inside (I’m a sucker for rustic charm and fairy lights). Will definitely visit again.

Amazing food and atmosphere. The chicken burger and Halloumi salad (pics) were wonderful. The burger had a lovely aniseed (due to the Fennel) flavour in the chutney relish and it was a proper breadcrumb chicken breast which was a good size. Coffee is also very good. Very reasonably priced as well with lovely friendly and attentive staff. Will pop back again!

Found - and fell in love with - The Wandering Kitchen today after my husband and I had done our jaunt to the East Oxford Farmers Market and then the usual donkey derby around Tesco. Delicious hot chocolate and equally delicious Vicky Sponge. Will definitely return to sample the lunch menu. Update: sampled the morning pastries on offer this morning (13 Sept). They are heavenly!

Lovely rustic feel with lovely views of lake. Small menu but very tasty sandwiches, cakes and coffee.

We used the WK for take away fish and chips last Friday. The dearly beloved called by for takeaway fish and chips, reported back that the server was friendly and chatty. The price doesn't hold up to a regular chippy but we'll worth the price for a treat. Quality produce cooked to perfection and generous portions. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great cafe & we loved watching the barn swallows, but in order to walk round the lake, we (2 of us) were charged £6 for a visitor day pass. It's only a short walk - why not make the price more reasonable?

Massive thanks to Ed and the team - we took 14 kids to the Wet’N’wild water park and had the party package with a meal, drink and ice lolly. The food was excellent and the service and timing brilliant, made our whole experience (as hosting parents) really easy, and the kids loved the food.

A little gem. Met friends for brunch. Delicious food. Lovely view over the lake . Gentle wander around the lake ,while watching a water skier.

Lovely spot, especially if you're tagging on a swim etc. Beautiful views on a sunny day. The cafe has a nice vibe and staff are all friendly and polite. However, I was let down today when I asked for a Gluten Free breakfast. Being Coeliac, most places now offer something and this place is no different, it says so in the menu! I ordered the Gluten Free alternative breakfast after I was told they don't stock gluten free bread for a sandwich. After paying, the waitress came out to tell me that the chef said they're too busy to do it (whatever that means) and can't guarantee that it would be gluten free - I did say the risk of contamination was ok. So I sat there with a coffee whilst my friends tucked into their (what looked delicious) breakfast. I'll definitely be back after the next swim but I hope they don't mind if I bring a picnic!

Food was lovely, and location. The only fault I have is, I could feel everyone walking past, the floorboards, made me feel slightly imbalanced being there.

My first time to go there. We were meeting some friends. It was lovely. Sitting down, having lunch, looking out at the lakes and beyond was heavenly. Staff were so friendly. I asked for a certain teabag and they had it.

Lovely place overlooking a lake to enjoy some tasty food and drink, We only ate from the breakfast menu but wasn't disappointed at all, It was fabulous! 😁 Staff are welcoming and friendly and there is a large car park although a few pot holes in the entrance make it a bit "interesting" especially on a motorcycle. Definitely worth a visit.

A very cosy barn/cabin with plenty of outside space and views over the lake. We just had coffee and cake but that was fine. The menu looks great for a simple but tasty meal with burgers, sandwiches etc. Friendly and helpful staff, and a nice overall friendly atmosphere

Beautiful food with a good view of the lake.

Nicely decorated & a good selection of cakes on display. But, we found the breakfast was expensive for the amount we had. It was tasty especially the black pudding, but quantity was poor especially when feeding a large family. (Sorry just my opinion) and No we wasn’t looking at buying a huge feast to feed us, just a decent sized portion for the price! Would visit again for coffee and cake.

Went for a pootle on the motorbike to check out Queensford Lakes, for Open Water Swimming. Water looks great! Bit a trek out here, from Reading though... Made effort as I remember having a burger from the wandering kitchen food van a few years back, at a biker meet, and it was fantastic. So I stayed for the lunch at the wandering kitchen and got a boar burger and a coffee. It is as delicious as I remember their burgers being. This boar burger is yum!
