Good and quiet place not like other Wetherspoons. Staff were attentive. I ordered a lot of food as we were hungry like chicken bites, nachos, pizza, nuggets, Chicken buns and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan basmati rice and a samosa and an onion bhaji. Chicken bites were as good as always. Overall a good place 👍

Great Spoons, great staff. The only issue I have is that wherever I sit within half an hour I will have a beer fly hovering around my pint. Get rid of the flies and I will give you a 5/5

The best pub in Uk! Among all the the Wetherspoon branches the I know, the walnut in Leytonstone is the far away the best one. They’ve a plenty of seats, the service is really efficient, count on a real good team of waiters.

Possibly one of the worst Wetherspoons there is. Staff are mostly unfriendly especially Megan who seems to think she is in charge of everything and everybody. One by one I have stopped eating their food, the last being their Scampi, tasteless. The only two items left on the menu worth getting are egg benedict and the 11 inch pizza with all the extra toppings. I suppose even they will be unbeatable soon and Megan will be barring everyone who complains.

I HAVE BEEN A REGULAR FOR THE FISH 'N' CHIPS WITH SOFT DRINK AT THIS WETHERSPOONS PRICED AT £5.59. HOWEVER TO MY SURPRISE THE LUNCH DEAL HAS INCREASED TWICE IN PRICE WITHIN THE LAST 10 DAYS TO £5.99 AND NOW TODAY 7AUG 2023 TO £6.99! IT IS NOT A GEM ANYMORE JUST ORDINARY AND THIS WILL BE MY LAST VISIT. GREEDY WEATHERSPOONS AND JUST WHEN PEOPLE ARE FLOCKING BACK IN DROVES!

The walnut tree is a nice pub and I've have been drinking there for 20 years, unfortunately there is a manager working in there now called Megan who has the biggest chip on her shoulder, she will literally not serve you and ban you if she doesn't like your face, and unfortunately she will not talk to you and explain anything to you and just walks away, it's a nice pub when she is not working, Megan has no people skills and the rudest person I have ever come across .

Visited the walnut tree with a friend for breakfast today and we were served by Meg who is lovely, we had a coffee with a breakfast wrap which was the best I’ve had. It was jammed full of food and was griddled which I've not seen before. It was very nice and was lovely and hot. We will be returning here again. Thank you walnut tree.

was utterly disgusted by the behaviour of what I believe to be a manager. I asked a simple question about the coffee machines and was treated with the worst behaviour I've ever experienced here... the girl began to wave her hands at me and shout like some gangster girl, I think she thought I'd be intimidated by her. I spoke to her colleague and stated she has no people skills and should not be working in this profession and she started shouting more. I get we all have bad days but if you want customers to come back then surely more training should be given to people like this. Her colleagues informed me her name was Malone or something like this and I do hope this is dealt with properly to prevent this from happening again. I spoke to some other custom3es in the establishment and they've told me this sort of attitude is becoming a regular thing with this specific individual so let's hope this is the message that sees to her actually being dealt with properly and quickly

We were served by Tony who was fantastic. He went above and beyond for me and my partner. Such a good attention to detail and put a smile on both of our faces. Give Tony a raise!!

Wow so much actitude this manager called Marlone. I asked for allergy requirement and she said that it was tired of helping people and that why I have to go to those pubs if I have a severe allergy. It’s the first time that this happens to me in my life! Her face it was like she just wanted to slap me. She needs to be trained properly and speak better and have better attitude as is working face to face with customers and should be nicer. She wasn’t approachable and one of the staff when I asked for her name they were scared of her... I don’t know how people like this can work with humans. I don’t recommend this place as they don’t take seriously their job apparently. Can I listen back to any persone above Marlone? Any ops manager? I won’t come back if this person is there...

I was extremely disappointed yesterday with the customer service at this place. Firstly they kicked out my friend because he didn’t have ID, fair enough but we showed one of the staff a photo and he said it was fine so we then proceeded to order food and drinks. When the other staff arrived with the food and drinks she said she needs physical proof of ID, a photo is not enough. So she had to ask him to leave, he also wasn’t allowed to takeaway the food or drinks he ordered because it was after 9. He then obviously asked for a refund because he wasted money on food and drinks that he wasn’t allowed to eat in or takeaway and they said no because it says on the website that we needed ID. But it’s not our fault because the first staff approved of the Photo ID. On top of that both female staff were very rude. Secondly my friend found a bug inside the ice of the pornstar martini cocktail, and we weren’t able to get a discount or a refund because they said we already drank some of the cocktails. The bug was literally frozen in the ice they gave us….. they said it fell from the ceiling but it was frozen in a cube of ice? Overall we ended up paying for everything with no apology from the staff so yeah guys take my advice and DO NOT come here. Ps: if u like dry chicken order from here ;)

Went to the walnut tree on a perfect Sunday one day before the restrictions were supposed to be lifted, to enjoy the amazing weather… We entered the place and everyone was walking around like covid never happened. My partner dropped his mask on the sidewalk 5 min before so we entered the place, waited by the door but as no one noticed us we decide to enter and ask a waiter how and where we can sit and we asked for a mask for my partner. He explained that we can grab any table and order using the qr code and then he started saying a bit louder ” you don’t have a mask, you need to leave the place , out out!” All this while we were trying to ask if they can provide a mask for one of us. Hesitant he said yes but he asked us to wait outside while he brings the mask.( we understand that we need to wear a mask while moving around the restaurant and we were happy to wear a mask) Very embarrassing moment , however we decide to sit in the area outside…. While waiting we realised that only one waiter was wearing the mask and non of them were wearing an exception badge, and none of the customers who arrived after us were wearing a mask when entering the site or while walking around …

This is normally a very bust pub and it had been the last 3 times I have been here. While staff are friendly enough they don't seem to want to move very fast when serving, Decent enough food though.

In my experience this has to be the cheapest pub in London. Ale starts at £1.79 per pint and there are at least 10 ales to choose from. No idea about the food!! Love it!

Just came back from this pub which we have been going to every week for ages

Took my brother for a meal who lives in the area. We got there at 5pm and ordered 2 meals for £8.30 plus 2 children’s meals.

Typical JDW pub. Clean, good value. Food is as good as anywhere and reliable. Good selection of beer and wine.

Hoy, muy decepcionado, 18/02/19 pedimos un desayuno vegano y un café de repuesto con amigos, nuestros planes eran sentarnos y tomar un café relajado con el desayuno y luego más café mientras nos ponemos al día. Nos vendieron nuestros cafés de recarga y nos dijeron que solo tenían vasos desechables, así que dijimos que sí, pero nos gustaría que estuvieran listos cuando estén listos, no hay problema. Después de comer fuimos a buscar nuestras tazas que tenían que limpiarnos y luego llegamos a la máquina de café que se vendió sin café y sin leche de soja. Absolutamente ridículo a las 11: 45 am y me he quedado sin café, esto es una locura y seguir vendiéndolo sabiendo que se está acabando es inaceptable. ¡Muy decepcionado! ! !

A really nice pub, with great prices. They are a good alternative to the trendy pubs which are £5-6 a pint, but there's been a few occasions when there's been rowdy customers and yelling across the pub. The staff are v nice and helpful.

Visited the walnut tree, leytonstone today and was pleasantly surprised to how much better the service and standards have become since PM Alex took over. I had a steak club mixed grill today to which I though was done with such care and attention. Having a shift manager Katie and team leader samanta working clearly helped my experience as they were polite and very helpful throughout my stay. I will definatly be returning.

Second time I have had to walk out of this pub, because the staff are not fully trained in customer service. They spend too much time in the kitchen area gossiping, while there people waiting to be served. I stood at the bar, while staff occasionally came round and served the person who had just walked up to the bar. Appalling service

I went out with my friends and we were shocked how cheap and good this place is , young and positive staff ,nice atmosphere and amazing deals beef burger with pint under tenner.

No me esperaba nada increíble desde este lugar debido a la clientela y los bajos precios, pero al menos algo comestible. El personal del bar era agradable, pero eso es lo único bueno creo que puedo decir, pedimos 2 quesos bacon hamburguesa con patatas fritas, la carne patty sabía muy divertido y muy seco con un seguimiento por un trozo de queso Cheddar y fría el tocino en la parte superior de la carne patty, parecía que llegaba directamente de la nevera.

Práctica ubicación en el centro de calificación y cerca de la estación de metro. Típico de corriente con buena comida Weatherpoons a precios razonables y una buena selección de bebidas. El servicio era un poco lento, teniendo en cuenta que era un período tranquilo almuerzo a mediados de la semana. Tuve que enviar un artículo ya que estaba demasiado cocido pero el segundo tema volvió perfecto.

This is my local Wetherspoons pub. You really can't beat it for price and quality. The clientele aren't always particularly salubrious - you may witness the odd punch up on a Friday night !- but the staff are pleasant and the food is great value .

Good beer price, very nice interior, spacey garden and friendly staff. However, there is only 1 small TV screen...please address this limitation and you will be perfect!!!

Comimos aquí 2 días fuera de una estancia de 3 noches. Comida muy buena y el precio de la comida incluida una bebida. El único inconveniente es el Domingo 29 de abril de 2018 cuando fuimos allí aunque unidos comedor familiar en la parte trasera había un grupo muy grande de personas, incluyendo niños de la sección superior del medio. Todo el personal era concentrarme en este grupo y nadie estaba limpiando las otras mesas. Encontramos una mesa y tuvimos que limpiarla nosotros mismos y mover todos los platos sucios. Mientras comíamos nuestra comida había niños corriendo persiguiéndose los unos a los otros que era desagradable, que estaban corriendo hacia arriba y abajo de la zona de bar, que no es seguro con gente llevando bebidas y desde el bar. Ninguno de los adultos estaban ellos manteniendo en hora.

Fuimos allí un par de veces recientemente y espere 20 minutos para una bebida cada vez ruinas su noche. Aunque agradable, el personal debe ser lapidada se mueven tan lentamente. La comida no está mal, voy a comer la comida. El bar, sin embargo está muy sucio, tiene un apestan, hay moscas por todos lados, asientos estaban pegajosas y hizo mi jeans pegajosa, las mesas estaban lejos de estar limpio, los vasos son siempre algunos lo sucio y encima de eso, la cerveza no es fresco! Que realmente necesita para trabajar en la limpieza, es asqueroso. Cuando se trata de bares, es el lugar donde me dibujar la línea. No vamos a volver.

Mientras yo no puedo hablar para el almuerzo o la cena en este poons, debo decir que nunca he tenido un desayuno mal aquí. Estoy aquí para desayunar a menudo antes de las compras en el supermercado de al lado, y normalmente un pedido de una de las opciones más ligeras, como el bollo de desayuno con salchichas o tocino, huevos revueltos o simple. Desde mi experiencia en otros establecimientos poons en todo el país, sé que la calidad del desayuno puede variar - no debería, por supuesto, el atractivo de visitar una cadena de marca es que siempre debe saber exactamente qué esperar, pero la verdad es que el estándar "desayuno tradicional" puede ser inconsistente. Por suerte, en esta ocasión, el jueves por la mañana, corriente el desayuno era de primera categoría. Tan buena como en para este rango de precio (ver foto): bien presentado, no grasa, caliente y satisfactorio, y extremadamente rápida para llegar. No tengo ninguna queja.

Living in east London good spot to gather with friends without facing pretentious waiters all the time. I had good memories in that pub, great laughs and outstanding treatment from some of the staff. They are always try to make my time there over the tip.

While visiting family that lived near by we popped into here after being out alday for something to eat 3 adults with three teenagers , the service was slow and nobody seemed to know what they was doing and after food took nearly an hour it came out and was totally wrong from what we ordered and baked up too much to eat and when speaking to member of staff they really didn't seem to care at all , finally spoke to a manager and he said he would give us free drink but this didn't solve the problem with the food being wrong and then after we finally got the right food my daughters plate had peas on it which looked like they were left behind from another meal in which the plate was dirty . Had enough and finally spoke to another manager and he was lovely in fact felt sorry for him as unfortunately his staff didn't seem to care whether he lost customers or not attitude stunk , he was very sorry and returned our money but I wouldn't rush back to this place .

Really gone downhill of late, go for lunch here regularly and although we don’t have high expectations, it’s a Wetherspoon chain pub known for being cheap and cheerful, it’s definitely not cheerful. They seem to have a permanent staff shortage as it takes an age to get served, although it’s not busy, just full of dirty tables that need clearing and glasses that need washing. The food was very sparse, and served with very limp and brown salad. I did complain but was met with attitude.

Nos fuimos como muchos otros. Visitado ayer de nuevo, el personal es muy grosero y brusco. Lugar desordenado, miembro del personal recogido cuchillos y tenedores en una mesa vacía, pero dejaron una copa detrás. Sus manos no estaban completos por cierto. Totalmente decepcionado. He revisado aquí antes y no estaba muy caliente sobre la comida, he comido desde aquí un par de veces y la comida ha mejorado. Tuve un problema con algunos huevos lo hecho, pero el director reemplazado sin problemas y la sustitución era encantador.

Fuimos al árbol de nogal para una comida con mi marido, nunca he estado aquí antes. La comida era excelente cuando llegamos sólo esperé unos 10 - 15 minutos tanto conseguimos parrillada mixta y una bebida, excelente relación calidad-precio y el ambiente era genial. The thing I like about Weatherspoon is not always the customers it attracts and the interior, but the different beer that you can't get elsewhere. I like the Belgium beer and the prices out of London are good, not sure why the same bottle of beer is 0.80 pence more expensive here than a Weatherspoon in Surbiton?

Very busy and good selection on menu would recommend using the new pre order app for your phone as saves alot of time..helpful staff, overall good experience just a few little things that needed to be sorted on the night.

I stopped here for lunch today, I had a BLT with chips and a drink. The food was decent. Prices are fantastic! The staff were good too, nice and friendly, and funy, really adds to the place. Family Friendly, Decent Toilets. I will revist when I'm back in the area.

I have been attending my local Weatherspoons recently after I heard the owner was pro brexit. I would usually go to McDonalds next door. I have found a little gem. I can get a really nice breakfast with unlimited decent coffee for under a fiver. the staff are friendly, it has cosy booths and books/newspapers too. It does need a little refurb or spruce up with paint in places but I like the joint.

This pub has the worst bar staff you can't get served if it's busy and you can't get served if it's not . All they want to do is sell food doesn't matter about drink they talk to each other totally ignoring people at the bar this is our local and we don't go in there because of all this the pub should have a complete clear out of staff including the chef who looks like he could do with a good wash come on wetherspoons get a grip on this pub before its to late

They have got rid of all the tables near the bar and replace them with five gaming machines. More like an amusement arcade now than a pub. Big drug and drunk problem, always full of idiots. Better pubs around and worth paying extra to escape the rubbish that are permitted in here.

Staff are friendly here, however, tables do often seem to get piled with glasses and you have to ask staff to clear for you. Food is standard spoons food but arrives promptly and hot. Due to the clientele it brings, as a young woman, I probably wouldn't go here alone for an after work drink as the man to woman ratio can be very off and make for a slightly awkward atmosphere (excessive staring at you). That being said, I meet regularly here with friends and the staff are very welcoming. A warmer and cheaper alternative to The Red Lion (also in leytonstone)

Good pub where you can eat different dishes but not specialities. It's a great place to go with friends or relatives to eat and drink and have a good time. The service is really fast and the food is tasteful for the price. To have an idea, four person can have enough food for around 30 pounds.

The Walnut is a basic JDWitherspoon pub with basic food basic beer and basic facilities. I could say below average food but compared to other JDW pubs it's mid range bad. That is it is delivered warm and designed to soak up beer not to engage the palet Staff change at an alarming rate ( at least one a week!) so obvious management and staff benefit issues here by comparison to the main staff in the next closest ( the George Wanstead!) where the main staff same for last four years. Toilets are clean mostly but need repair after vandals did their worst months ago Security is officious and at times indecisive in action The pub is poor at predicting trouble two examples LUFC fans regularly arrive when Leeds play in London yet the pub is majorly a West Ham pub no marks for guessing what happens next. Also on a monthly bases or more regular at least fifty travellers arrive for a piss up and what starts as prototype civilised ALWAYS defends into trouble with police regularly in attendance ! Really not wise management decision making !

The food's pretty awful as you'd expect from a Spoons, but they have an unusually good selection of craft beers at very keen prices. £3.50 for a Chimay Blue is crazy cheap.

I have a little ritual now. Every Friday i go and have my breakfast at the walnut tree. Good stuff, tasty and cheap food and also an amazing design, at least for me as a book worm :D I warmly recommend

We were in Leytonstone in the evening and looking for supper and stumbled upon The Walnut Tree by chance. I am glad we did. They had a beer and burger offer on for the evening and so we all went for that. Nice sized portions and coupled with London Pride to drink, was very filling. 2 of us had the Buttermilk Burger and the others had a Californian burger and standard beef burger. All very good and tasty, though I could not finish the fries that came with the Californian burger.As we had a good experience we visited on 2 other occasions for supper and were not disappointed. It has a nice ambience and is a very comfortable place to dine in. You need to order at the bar and the service is efficient and friendly.

My parents visited me, so I decided to bring them to this pub as I have been here so many times and I only have positive thoughts about The Walnut Tree. The staff are very friendly and kind with excellent service. The food is delicious, 5 stars. This is my favourite pub!! Thank you guys!!!

It's hard to have a reasonably priced meal out with drinks nowadays and this is the beauty of Wetherspoons of course. A meal for 2 with a drink for under £15 is great and the menu is fairly varied. What I love about Wetherspoons is that it allows people on a budget to have a good time and they should be congratulated for that. The Walnut Tree is similar to other Spoons but i think has some staff that go the extra mile and make the experience more special.

I like Wetherspoons you know what you're going to get whether it be London, Birmingham or Derby etc. Value for money food and decently priced beer... isn't that all we want?The Walnut Tree had the added extra of what I would describe as a good old fashioned eastend landlady. Yes it's a Wetherspoons, but if you took the sign off the front it is a clean, welcoming pub with cheap drinks and OK food. The only thing going against it is that when you walk in, the clientele looks awful. I can only recommend you find your own quiet corner and ignore the people in there with you.

Had many nice evening here. Good beer garden and cheap breakfast.Nice staff genrally and cheap drinks for the area.

The ambient is relaxed with good music, friendly staff and very nice and cheap food. I went on a busy day but the orders soon were in table.

I would recommend the burgers they are always lovely and great value for money fresh and hot served by a lovely and friendly waitress called Georgia would make this place a weekly choice after this visit

Cant beat wetherspoons for value. Always eat here when in Leytonstone. Gets a bit hectic on big match days so allow for this.

Popped into for cappuccino today. Husband had filter coffee. Not sure why but our coffees weren't nice. My cappuccino too strong. Took it back but barmaid didn't listen to complaint just said do u want replacement and I said yes. Still same taste so will give this I've aids for now. Also when u look thru to kitchen the dividing doors are so filthy not good advert for food if u see dirty doors like that

Staff very plesant and good service. Good food and a place to take a break or to enjoy yourself. Good job
