What an amazing place! Just like walking into a Victorian sitting room. Very warm welcome. Had a home made pizza (which had tasty home cooked ham in abundance) fries, homemade cake and a bottomless pot of tea. We stayed for ages chatting to the owners and fellow diners. Everyone so friendly and welcoming. We were so sorry we were passing through on a tour of Ireland and couldn't return.

Their afternoon tea is absolutely wonderful - such a range of food and always checking if need any more. Great value for money and the owners are so friendly and nice. Best afternoon tea experience we all ever had and worth driving for. Just note they are only open on a Friday and Saturday. They will open early if they know a party is coming.

This was the highlight of our day trip around this area. An unexpected delight! Quaint, like a lovely old fashioned living room, this place is full of charm. Bottomless teapot, and home baked treats- the caramel squares are the best I have ever had and I qualify as an expert! The owners were great craic and you felt you were in conversation with old friends reminiscing about people you both knew as Northern Ireland is such a small place. Highly recommended and according to reviews the food is as good as the baking so we will aim for lunch next time!

This village has so fascinating name - Moneymore - near Magherafeld - that we decided to stop for having tea break. Place was something else we though as located in so small village (we have driven through hundreds of them during our journey). Decided that our next year's plan must include route via this place - perhaps we'll get more money then? This time we just spent it, not too much.

While on a motorcycle trip to Northern Ireland we came across the Vintage Tea Room by pure chance it was about 2pm on a Friday afternoon and we were the only customers there which isn't normally a good sign however there was no need to be concerned, the couple who run it couldn't have been more friendly ,in the hour or so that we were there we came away knowing more about them and their family than I know about my own family ,the restaurant is spotlessly clean ,the toilet was just like being in your grandparents ,including potted plants, the food was excellent and reasonably priced ,we will make a point of returning the next time we are in Northern Ireland.

Headed here for lunch with my 15yr old daughter. We wanted to try out a new place that didn't offer the usual fare of chips and pre packed sandwiches. Upon arrival we were greeted by two fabulous hosts. They talked us through the menu and told my daughter about the gluten free options she could have. We opted for the broccoli soup, gf cheese toastie and a homemade hotdog (made by Trevor himself) Everything was served on vintage plates in atmospheric surroundings. The friendliness of Trevor and Irene really added to our experience. We will definitely be back to sample the hog roast baps and bbq sauce!! Overall a quirky tea room with fabulous homemade food and treats. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

Walking in to this cafe is imenwalking back in time! The simple menu offers fantastic snacks, everything is home made and tastes amazing. The cheese and bacon toastie was a hit with my other half, my mother in law and I had an ad hoc tasting menu which was very quaint. The owners were friendly and welcoming. They don't take cards which was a bit of an inconvenience, but otherwise a lovely experience all round

Sorry I can't write a review of the Vintage Tea Room because it was not housed in this building when I was there in 2005, 2006. I stayed in the accommodations at the time. A great stay. My point is to say the location is perfect: three pubs nearby, an off license next door and a bus/coach stop across the street. A vintage tea room would now add to this property.

THE BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD! We stumbled upon this lovely cafe by complete chance but what a lucky find! We had roast hog sandwiches with apple sauce which were absolutely delicious and very filling, and soft, fluffy, warm scones with our cream tea. The owners were amazing and made us feel like we were part of the family. The decor and atmosphere is also pretty special. Reminiscent of visiting your stylish, quirky granny!P.S This review is about 6 months late! Sorry to the lovely host who we promised to write the review for, we eventually got around to it! i had lunch here today. I have been wanting to try this place out for some time. The menu is mainly toasties, homemade soup and the well known hog roast sandwich. The meat is locally produced and I had Trevor's homemade BBQ sauce and coleslaw alongside. It was all delicious and washed down with a very nice Americano. The atmosphere is very relaxed, there is no rushing around here which all adds to the sense of taking time to chill out and just enjoy the present. Despite not having met the owners, Trevor and Irene before, I had a great old chat with them and could have chatted more if it wasn't for the fact they had food to prepare. Top marks for creating a nice hub in Moneymore for people to meet and enjoy food and a chat.

The vintage tea room is definitely up there with the finest eating establishments in the mid ulster. Amazing food, all homemade with a vast array of treat and desserts available. All pork is made by the owner Trevor on his farm from his own pigs. Although the relaxed venue and food is amazing the hosts are the real stars. Trevor and Irene provide endless entertainment and are the two brightest and enjoyable hosts ive ever met. If there was 6 stars they would get it. Amazing.

My wife and I made our first visit to The Vintage Tea Room in Moneymore after a morning shopping trip to Magherafelt. Knowing that it opens between "12ish and 3ish" we timed our arrival for shortly after midday. Trevor took a break from piling more logs on the homely burner to give us a warm cheery welcome and then Irene joined the chat as if we were already firm friends. The "Christmas Baps" were superb - generous layers of moist turkey, Trevor's home cured ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce. The home baked mince pies (with fresh cream), were equally good and the rich freshly brewed coffee was the ideal accompaniment. And all served in a beautifully furnished (and festively decorated) room. Enchanting springs to mind - and well worth a journey in itself !

We had just spent six hours walking over Slieve Gallion in the Sperrins and when we came back to the car thought that what we would most like would be a good cup of coffee. It was a bit late to stop in Cookstown but as we came into the main street in Moneymore there was an OPEN for coffee sign in the old Manor House window. We got a great, friendly welcome, a room which felt like someone's home, and really good coffee, homemade scones, cake and biscuits. We would never have thought that there would be such a lovely establishment in a little place like Moneymore. We will even go back to Moneymore just to enjoy The Vintage Tea Room.

Having contacted the owners, Irene and Trevor a few weeks ago to ask if they would be able to open a bit later than their advertised closing time of '3pm ish', they were more than happy to stay open for a group of 12 of us. We were warmly welcomed into the tearoom (feels like going to someones house for tea) and served 'bottomless' pots of tea in gorgeous vintage tea cups. The scones were so fresh and then a home made birthday cake was presented by Trevor! It was just lovely and the owners are so welcoming and accommodating. We love to go to the Vintage Tea Room - we know that we will get a lovely warm welcome, and that the food will be just what we want. All tastes are catered for, and the menu changes as Trevor comes up with new recipes - there is always something new to try. I love the soup - always nice seasonal combinations. I like to get a sandwich - but beware, they can be huge and you might need to get Irene to wrap half up to take home!Trevor's coleslaw is legendary - simply the best I've ever had. My grandson usually goes for soup and a hot dog - in order to get to a brownie or shortbread. Oh - and teapot always kept filled up by Irene! Lovely

Called in for lunch and found a very quaint tea room with a welcoming family to cater to our every need and a much appreciated offer of a "bottomless teapot" which meant that no sooner had we poured tea it was refilled. Everything was home made and cooked to order. It would be a lovely venue for anyone holidaying from abroad as the owners Irene and Trevor are very keen for a chat and would give the history of their farm and new venture into catering. Will definitely be paying another visit as it is a venue where you would be tempted to sit all afternoon!!

What an experience! From the quirkiness of the place, the management and the furnishings, this really is a super place to go and sample some local homemade produce. The pork and hams are gorgeous and the homemade coleslaw is just super. Opening times are a bit random, but I made contact with the owners (Irene & Trevor) via their Facebook page to confirm opening over a two week period and they kindly and promptly came back with times, information and their phone number if I'd any more questions. Very reasonable for good quality food and it feels like you're at a friends house for tea! They don't rush you and chat to you to tell you about the food and the place itself. Would be a great place to take friends who are visiting from other countries. A wonderful place and would highly recommend it to everyone. My advice would be to phone or message first to check opening days and times as it doesn't open every day and has limited opening hours.

My husband and I called here to-day for lunch and we were not disappointed. It's like walking into your favourite aunties house about forty years ago. It's cosy and very welcoming as is Irene, who would brighten up anyone's day. She told us about how her husband, Trevor diversified from being a full-time pig farmer to open this venue. The food is all homemade and tastes delightful. Tea is served in china teapots, china cups, saucers and plates. The place is spotless, you can even see Trevor creating in the kitchen. If you want good food, great customer service and first class food, I would definitely encourage you to pay a visit.

Staying in Moneymore with family we popped into the tea room for lunch and weren't disappointed. The room is comfortable and cosy and the welcome very warm. The pork and bacon is from locally sourced pigs (in fact probably from the townland my wife lived in!). The cakes are all home made - but unfortunately after the gorgeous sandwiches we didn't have space for them. Definitely a must visit if your in that area - but they told us to check on their Facebook book site to make sure they are open. Hi,When recently Travelling through the village of Moneymore (The Tea room is actually not in the nearby larger town of Magherafelt) at lunchtime I just happened to notice a sign offering a hot roast bap for £3.00, so having swung the car around I decided to give it a go, turns out it was a great decision! The tea room is small with great character & décor and being only open at lunchtime it offers various treats all served in a very informal atmosphere, the day’s tabloids available to read whilst the charming (I presume Man & wife) staff prepare your lunch.Obviously I can only comment on my take away hot roll, this was a meal in itself served in a lovely soft ‘bap’ with steaming hot roast pork, stuffing (salad available instead) and beautiful apple sauce (extra £0.50), and get this……the pork is solely from the owners local farm. Tasty, filling with no need for seasoning and it even comes wrapped in tin foil, no mass produced plastic cartons here! A nice touch, told you it was quirky!Without getting too excited about a hot roll you might think, my brief experience will leave me in no doubt but to return. The staff are warm, welcoming and although Hawaiian shirts are not compulsory you might want to adorn such an item to, and I quote, from the owner: “bring a little ray of sunshine to Moneymore”. Bermuda shorts, in addition, might really look the part, up to you!Having been open now for approx 1 year I wish the owner(s) the best of luck in their new venture and look forward to returning soon, well done.A must stop lunchtime venue should you be travelling between Belfast & Omagh in either direction, free on street parking is available with additional parking at the rear of the Tea Room.Highly recommended! If this review has 'Informed' your decision please tick the 'Was this review Helpful' box.Les
