This pub is a real gem, welcoming and friendly the staff and owners work hard to make every visit special. The Tapas is excellent, all home made and beautifully presented. Highly recommended a visit to this pub, can’t wait to try the Sunday lunches. Maria and Andy are super hosts and have created a traditional British pub with a Mediterranean twist.

A group of friends were in the area and staying next door, we booked an evening meal at The Vinery and were warmly greeted by our hosts. The restaurant is newly refurbished and is very smart and cosy, the service excellent. We were tempted by the sharing tapas menu which was varied and tasty and there was plenty of food for four hungry guys, the wine was excellent and the choice of beer. Whilst there we were asked if we needed breakfast the following morning and booked in for a hearty full English, which was also excellent. Highly recommended

We stayed at a place next door to The Vinery and decided to go and get a bottle of wine to take away (we thought we might arrive too late to dine, so had already eaten). They loaned us wine glasses for the evening. We discovered while buying the wine that we could book for breakfast the following morning, so we did. It was the best decision. The service, the food and the place was amazing, we could not fault it. We hope to return in the future to try the Tapas, and more wine!

If you’ve never tried this restaurant you definitely should do. The food and wine selection is excellent. I usually have the Lamb Kleftiko when it is available but sometimes this is a “special” - also the chicken piri piri is also fabulous too! Ambience has become more and more intimate with excellent service and friendly staff from the bar to the waitresses.

We decided to take a trip to Southwell racecourse on Sunday as there was an antiques fair on. If we had followed the brown signs to the racecourse on the main road we would never have stumbled across The Vinery at Rolleston, an absolute jewel in the village's crown! Well done to the satnav for taking us that way. From the road The Vinery looks like any country pub which on a Sunday lunchtime you might think did the standard beef and turkey roast dinners but don't be fooled. We were greeted by one of the young waiting staff and I, stupidly, immediately asked if they were doing their standard lunch menu (thinking of sandwiches, baguettes and the like rather than a heavy roast). I hadn't realised until we were given the menus that this is in fact a lovely tapas and mezze restaurant. What a bonus! The menu gave us a kaleidoscopic host of dishes to choose from, all of which sounded delicious. There is a small plates menu together with larger plates such as Lamb Kleftiko and Confit Duck. Mrs Wanderer decided on the grilled halloumi with courgettes, pomegranate mollasses dressing and mint together with patatas bravas plus a third dish of chorizo prawns from the small plates menu. I opted for the chilli mushrooms and the deep fried salt and pepper calamari with a chilli dipping sauce. Lots of chilli but then we like our heat. The menu makes it clear that "These will be delivered individually as ready, as everything is cooked to order". Fair enough, and the first out of the traps was the halloumi. We love grilled halloumi but have never paired it with mint let alone pomegranates but it was a revelation. Thoroughly delicious and it prepared our appetites for what was to follow. As it happened the remaining dishes all came out of the kitchen at the same time. The deep fried calamari was moist and succulent and the chilli mushrooms with white wine, ginger & garlic finished with lemon & parsley butter was so packed full of flavour that I wish I could replicate them at home. The prawns were served up with slices of chorizo, a pairing that will forever work well, "pan fried and finished with garlic butter" and came with a couple of small slices of crusty bread, as did the mushrooms, to mop up the remaining sauce. The patatas bravas were lightly crispy and the sauce was flavoursome. For an extra quid you can have them served up with aioli but given the quantity of garlic in the other plates we declined. The meal was exceptional and a boost for what had so far been a good day. The chef certainly knows how to cook this style of food (the full panoply of compliments to them) and The Vinery is definitely on the list of return visits if only to try something different! Thoroughly recommend a stop by if you're in the area! Enjoy!

I recently visited on a sunny lunchtime out of curiosity. I was impressed, really impressed. The new proprietors Andy and Maria have clearly put a massive amount of time, effort, money and love into this place which signifies to me that they are very serious about making a go of this business and are in it for the long haul. The exterior looks great and the interior is truly beautiful and very tastefully decorated. It feels classy but at the same time also informal and very friendly which is a super combination. Andy is superb front of house making the guests feel really welcome and valued and Maria’s food is to die for – absolutely delicious!!!!! I wish you guys every success with your new business x Joanne xx

Stayed at the rooms next door, popped in here after ladies day races and the chef kindly whipped up some food for us as it was late on a Sunday. We are so glad that she did as the food was incredible. Forget frozen pub meals, this place serves up freshly made tapas style dishes and everything we ate was beautiful. The best garlic prawns I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable and the team of people working were super friendly and really accommodating. We loved it so much we came back this morning for breakfast. Again this did not disappoint, super fresh, quality ingredients served up with a smile. We live in Nottingham and will definitely be back here for dinner soon. Well done to you guys, top job 👍🏻

Its highly unusual for me to not write a review about a new Restaurant straight away, but I have been busy, so I have now visited 3 separate occasions, different times and days. All have been equally as great, consistent with the Service, Food and Staff. The ambience and relaxation also needs mentioning. The Service is really good. The Chef is exceptional and the tapas dishes we have had, were all outstanding. Huge portions and 4 plates seem a lot for 2 people, so its fabulous value for money too. My Husbands favourite is the Confit Duck and mine the Tartiflette. Not to forget the most amazing pudding menu on offer. The drunken raisins with their ice cream is to die for. They have a good choice of wine and soft drinks, with various choices of teas always available in a pot!. The Staff are all friendly and helpful and want to please. This is right on our door step too for our Clients use to visit, so I will be adding this to my places to eat locally for my company. Highly recommended. I have also recommended the Tapas to several people already that have issues with any intolerances to include GF etc, the Chef is happy to work with alternative options if required. Thank you Guys, we are now regular Clients and hope you continue to go from strength to strength. Best wishes. Tina

We were staying at the accommodation next door. Had the most delicious tapas lunch in the charming garden. Hosts are very friendly as are their lovely staff. They are very passionate about the food, drink and whole experience they provide. We also had a problem with a pre booked taxi. We had returned for a drink whilst waiting for our taxi and the staff noticed us waiting outside for a long time. The very kind owner ended up taking us to the wedding we were attending. As our meal the day before had been so good we had booked for breakfast. This too was amazing. Fresh home cooked food. Such a great find, wish we lived nearer as this would be a place we’d come to regularly.

Stranded without an iron! While staying locally to attend a wedding we were without an iron…in my panic I saw The Vinery and thought there was nothing to lose but to ask, well to my surprise not only was I presented with an iron and ironing board but steam press too so panic over 😃 … my car parked and we were all set for food, drink and a good day celebrating, until 15 mins later I realised I’m not in taxi country! Now the panic was back so I returned to people who had already saved the day, to my surprise Andy gave us a lift… what kind, caring people, He also supplied me with an out of hours taxi contact who was prompt and reliable. On my way out Maria asked if would I like to book breakfast for the following morning, I said I would love to and it was just as amazing as all the fantastic kind things they had done the day before! Massive welcome and even bigger hearts don’t pass by you will miss out!! 👍👍

The ambience is lovely and welcoming and the staff couldn't do enough for us when we visited with the in-laws for an evening meal. The menu was reasonably priced and creative with lots to choose from and the food was really really tasty.
