Must of been a bad day today but food was uncooked staff were calling customers that complained. Dont think they understand we can hear them from behind the counter. Made it very awkward. Fella behind serving has no customer service very rude. Servers look very unclean and have the essence of a dustbin. Poor woman with short spicky hair looked frazzeled. But hey ho the sausages were nice and at least cooked but left me feeling stressed to say the least. Not for me!!!! Hopefully better day tomorrow. Face it, it couldnt get any worse dont let yourselves down. P.s could do with a good clean.

I went to the Vine Café today at 10 minutes past 10 (Saturday) for a breakfast as I usually do. Got a table, took my coat off and went to the counter to order. the young chap behind the counter asked me if I wanted a breakfast I confirmed I did. I was told we are very busy so we aren't doing anymore breakfasts. Not we are busy do you mind waiting for a bit? no ! we aren't doing you one. So I left and won't be going back. The person behind the counter was rude and abrupt. The meals there are good and the staff are usually very nice but this bloke obviously couldn't cope with the pressure. Business must be very good if they can turn custom away after only being open a couple of hours. It'll be the Courtyard Cafe in the future.

My usual market café has recently closed so went here instead, There were about seven staff crowded behind the counter and still they were refusing to take any more breakfast orders.(at 10.20 am) It was hot, it was noisy and I won't be going back.

Due to the change of ownership of the other eatery on Freeman street market in Grimsby, we ventured here to see how it faired and my friend I can tell you that The Vine Cafe did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and the prices were unbelievably cheap for the quality of food we had. Once served we were left alone to enjoy our meals which is something we prefer. This has become a regular spot for us and would recommend to all.

We have been enjoying our lunch at the Vine for quite sometime now and can not praise the staff, service and food highly enough. There is no other cafe in the area to rival the exceptional home cooked choices and their prices. The steak pie is a favourite and of course, fish and chips on a Friday. However, the lemon meringue is like nothing you have tasted before. The list of choices and total delight of the menu could go on, needless to say, the Vine Cafe is most definitely a hidden treasure in Grimsby tucked away in Freeman Street market and an absolute must if you're in need of a hearty breakfast or lunch.

Recently tried this cafe and really pleased we did. Despite being insanely good value (half what I pay elsewhere) the food here is very good quality especially the sausages but also the dinners and apple pies. It's cooked and served by a very friendly family team that produce a very tasty range of food most days. They open early especially on market days and its best to get there early too as it can get quite busy later on. It's hardworking people like these that are helping putting the greatness back into great grimsby, I would eat here everyday if I could. My favourite cafe in the whole wide world, clean, friendly, tasty.

Have just visited today The Vine Restaurant for the fourth time. The food was excellent as on the three previous visits. My husband was with me on this occasion and he is hard to please. Cannot fault this place, lovely friendly service, how they can provide such quality food at such low prices, I will never know. I recommend the apple pie and custard, so beautifully cooked with pastry I cannot better. Each time I have visited the place was absolutely buzzing, which reflects just how good this place is. The only slight criticism my husband and I have to make is the time it takes to get your meal, so don't expect to be served straight away. We had to wait 35 minutes to be served, but absolutely well worth it. You order and pay for your meal, then given a numbered ticket, which is called out and you put your hand up and it is then brought to your table.

We were in Grimsby for an amble round the market and up and down Freeman Street. We often find ourselves in Grimsby living only a few miles away. We have, though, struggled to find a nice cafe for a coffee and a bit of breakfast. Problem now solved! Excellent food, friendly environment and competitive prices. We liked it so much that we were back a hour or so later for another coffee and a piece of cake, for Tracey, and apple pie and custard for me. Wonderful!

We live in Hull and travel all over England through work. We have tried lots of cafes and time and time are let down by either poor food/ service or uncleanliness. Since visiting the Vine we will not try any other in the area. No need this place goes above and beyond. Extremely friendly and welcoming, food is perfect for every time, delicious, right temperature, great size potions and it is the only place we have visited twice the same day. Have been about 4 times now. Everything is homecooked and prepared with love and care. The people who work there are constantly on the go to make sure customer satisfaction is met. we will be returning that's for sure. As a customer service officer myself with my local council, I am extremely fussy where I eat, I'm very very comfortable going to this place, its just so homely and relaxed. Nothing is too much trouble

We visited this place in August 2015 Friday Morning for Breakfast after around 45 minutes we got our meals in fairness management did apologise when we were leaving but they weren't that busy so didn't understand why so long to get food. Anyway we thought we would give this place another go because we like to support local business rather than the big chains ect. What a joke!! We entered the place at literally 11am and I mean 11am dead on and was told they had stopped serving breakfast and going over to the dinner menus I looked again at the clock and said Are you kidding me but was told you can go to the Courtyard Cafe on the same market cause they were still doing breakfasts. Lol. I mean talk about turning trade away is an understatement. Summing up tried it twice breakfast wasn't anything to scream about but price was good , however I'll be paying the extra in House of Fraser from now on and Avoid this place. Two visits = 2 bad experiences for me..

The café has moved from the Ice house to Freeman street market place and so is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday only. This has allowed the proprietor to produce even more fabulous food, as ever the cakes are delish, and although the fish n chips are not on the menu the rest is still great and still good value. I had barbecue chicken breast n chips MMmmmm, and my wife had lasagne we were both extremely pleased with the meals. Great food, great people, great prices.
