Good food Good prices. Drive past chip shops to go there

it's a clean friendly village chip shop. I pop in for just a battered fish or a half size mini the staff have been super , have took there kebabs home for later more than three times

Food has gone downhill, not as tasty as it used to be , pies are very dry,not much meat in them, chips are cold when yo get them home .

That'd be great instead of chips Can you replace my order with a normal burger please and thank you

Came here for chips but they only take cash so I had to go somewhere else as I didn't have a card. Shame as they do lovely chips

We ordered takeaway while staying at Makins Fishery, delivery really fast, and the driver was really helpful, the food was hot and tasted great, if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be ordering again.

Ordered from here as a late night treat and the food is absolutely vile. the chips were undercooked. the tikka kebab was in CHUNKS as if they couldn’t be arsed as it was 20 minutes to closing time. i didn’t realise it was 20 mins until googled the place. WOULD NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.

Ordered a pizza online for collection perperoni explosion a paid 80p extra for extra perperoni what I got was 2 pieces of perperoni on each slice hate to had seen what I would had got with out the extra 80p I paid probably none its what I call a ripped off your paying for somthing they not giving you .

called in for a bag of chips a few days ago and they were lovely made out of new potatoes my favourite and a very generous portion nice staff, will certainly return for more top marks.

Chips bagged up an hour before they close you go at 12.25 pm and chips still soggy did not want to put down a village chip shop but its not good 😐

Ordered a delivery to my house at 19:20 it was only a small order for £17 with delivery , was advised when I ordered the food that it would be about 1 hour, At 21:25 which is two hours later I called the village chippy and asked if my order would be much longer only to be told it would be at least another hour , in the end I told them to forget it and went to bed hungry 😡3 hours later

The fish and chips are cooked with oil that is clearly very old. They were so bad I couldn't finish them

Very hit and miss. Sometimes the chips are really nice and other times sloppy and greasy. Waited almost an hour for a chicken kebab whilst standing in an empty shop. Seemed more interested in the telephone orders rather than mine. Only then to find the chicken was way over cooked. However, the staff are always friendly enough

Came here on the 4th for dinner. We ordered two kebabs. 1 two meat kebab (doner and tikka chicken) and the other one just doner. One portion of chips and a scallop batch. Food was warm and tasty. Certainly nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews make them out to be.

Lacked flavour, chicken had no flavour. Not asked if I wanted salt or vinegar. Friendly girls though

I waited 25 minutes before getting served there were 3 people before, but I understood that they may be under pressure, I just asked for a chicken burger Lettuce and mayo, pastie and chips I then had wait further 30 mins. Was such a long wait and food was not correct to what I had ordered and food was not nice. And didn't apologise for wait also, I won't be going here again :( shame

The food arrived cold, chips were like rubber. When I rang to complain was told nothing they could do. Said they would replace the order. Then called and asked if I wanted whole order or just parts. Then called again to say I had to send the old food back, but I had already plated up the food. I ask myself why they want the old food back. In summary Food terrible Customer service terrible. WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.!!!!!

Really bad attitude from the owner was very rude to a young woman with a child in front of me. I was simply horrified at her attitude as a supposedly business woman. Even when I was served my cold stale chips and cold cod that had a tinge to it I did not want to complain because of her confrontational personality. Was very rude to the young lady and when she left the shop was even ruder about her. A very sad episode and a shameful stain on SOCITY. If I could give zero stars it would have been generous.

Hit and miss there is a guy that works here playing with his phone always gets the young girls to do the work as he got more time for his phone

I rate this chippy higher than the other one in Bulkington ( Fishnet - horrendous) mainly because the staff are friendly. Having said that the food is terrible. The chips are particularly awful. Let’s not blame it on the wrong spuds etc when you can get brilliant chips at Alderman’s green, Nuneaton or Burbage. Sorry guys but you are just slightly better than the worst and you could be much, much better. Massive opportunity to be so popular yet still serve poor food.

Had half an hour to kill before my hair appointment. So sausage and chips in a tray can’t get over how large the sausage was. Got served straight away really enjoyed it . The young lad serving was good and polite. Will call in again before my next hair appointment.

Very sad as I’ve used this place for years but the food has got terrible Never using again as had 2 bags of black chips and a finger nail in the kebab I’ve called and asked to speak to a manager or the owner and I was told someone would call me. I’ve received no call back.

called in for a potion of chips after watching them bein served I felt like saying no thanks but thought I'd give them a chance but sadly they tasted as bad as they looked, it seemed very quite that evening that may have been the problem with the chips but if I was the owner I would have got rid of them and put somemore fresh ones on you cant expect to serve food like that and think you can get away with it. good points were nice friendly staff and good portions, hope this reveiw can be constructive as its not meant to be nasty.

Asked for the gravy on top of my food the girl behind the counter said "ive done it now just take it" cheers for that. The photo taken in my room is the exact reason why i dont take it in a carton. Exploded in my car. Wont be coming back. Waste of money. Clearly cannot read reviews correctly. Calling me lazy for asking for sauce to be poured over my chips ? Take a hard look at the photo below and have another read of the review the carton exploded.

Bought a bbq pizza from you and it has zero taste even with the toppings. The cheesy chips I ordered are stone cold and so are the onion rings, I'll stick to ordering your kebab wraps because they're good to be fair, but my god please sort the pizzas out.

Chips were not fully cooked and had a gritty texture. Sausage was nice. The curry sauce was nice. The mushy peas tasted off and had a weird foam on it. Pineapple fritter was fine I thought but the batter on the inside had a lovely pocket of flour or something in it. The delivery was much faster than expected though.

I have been to this chippy three times of late but never again. First time the chips were raw. Second time the curry sauce was, well, not curry sauce. The las time the Kebab meat was raw. The service was just unbelievably bad. How can these guys get it soo wrong. They need shutting down. NOW.

I live in Nuneaton and have multiple highly recommend chippys near me but I always find myself getting in the car to drive the 3 or 4 miles to get to this chippy... I love the chips (which is blatently important about any chippy) The pizzas and garlic pizza are special from here also. It's good.. it's really good.

I have used this chippy in the past and always thought it was good till tonight. Obviously we had to queue because of Covid, all the staff seemed to be oblivious to the people standing outside, they were concentrating on the deliveries, When I got in and placed my order it was only four portions, but from the start of being served to the finish took over twenty minutes, and even though I put them in an insulated bag it was freezing when I got home and the fish was tasteless, the assistant went behind the back of the shop and it looked to me like she dropped a pen in the fat, and the fish fryer managed to get it out, just not what you want to see, never again will I go back there, it was a waste of money and time.You don’t expect to pop to your local chippy for four items and be out for one and a half hours!

I visited the village chippy and im disgusted not only was the man serving wearing a dirty jumper, he then went on to eat some of the chips out of the portion he was serving me ( yes out of the wrapper) .I told him I didnt want them and I wanted my money back ,he started to shout at me ,when the manger came over,she wasn't much help .eventually I got my money back . I will never return to that shop again . Ive given 1 star purely because it won't let me vote "0"

Just paid £18.50 for a small chips, small fish and I mean small for nearly a fiver and large fish that was small also..way over priced but was hungry so thought ok but never ate it as it was tasteless and smelled funny. Would never use them again I felt totally ripped off

Always great service and excellent value. We've had a few deliveries from The Village Chippy recently. The portions are really good for the price. Delivery is only £1 (if you order directly from their site/app). There are some things I didn't like but that was more personal taste, there was nothing wrong with the food at all. It's my go-to place for a takeaway when I'm feeling under the weather and not wanting to cook. Have used before and will use again.

Food was fantastic this evening had a lovely Mediterranean chicken wrap with salad and mint Yogurt dressing and my husband had steak and kidney pie and chips with curry sauce and we had a bottle of coke with it, service was good and hats off to Lee for working in the back with all the friers rather you than me

I have just ordered pizza and kebab. The pizza tastes doughy and the base is dark So that was a waste of time ordering. I haven't ordered for ages but thought I'd give a try. I wont be doing it again. Waste of money

I am a very regular user of The Village Chippy in normal times. I am now in lock down as I am asthmatic. I have just spoken to the owner of the chippy to explain that although I live 100 yards from the chippy I have been charged £3.50 for delivery instead of £1.50 as it states on Just Eat. He owners response was that I should have ordered direct. Be warned!! I will not use them again!

We ordered from here tonight using the app at 8:05. Come 9:15 we were still waiting so rung to find out what was happening and was told it would be 45 minutes as the kebab machine broke down. It's now 10:30 no food and no answer at the shop. Absolutely disgusted and fuming.

Well... I found it absolutely brilliant. The second time I have been based on the first. I have had tikka mixed kebab both times and that should be a positive indicator 😁. I ordered chips as well and although they were lovely it was one of the largest portions of chips I have had. Now this might be because I live down south where you get about 20 chips for 2 pound... But I think I had an entire field of spuds wrapped up. Another place on my list of trusted takeaways when I am in the area. Oh, and the staff were really nice and dealt with a strange... Customer very professionally.

Ordered food in advance! Half hour late and food was cold! Called and spoke to manager and his response was ... well if your not happy order from somewhere else next time!!! Disgusting attitude!! Avoid at all costs!!

When I first went to this fish bar the chips were lovely now they are horrible to dry for my liking.

Going back about 6 months now however same people. Ordered a large delivery probably a good £45 worth, ordered around 7 and was told a 40 minute wait time. After an hour and 40 minutes I hadn't received any food so I rang up the restaurant to find out where. I was told my food had just left with the driver, and they he had 3 drops yo do before mine. Baring in mind I lived 2 minutes round the corner and other 2 deliveries well over 8 miles away. Apparently according to management this is acceptable. Food finally arrived at my door shriveled up looking like the worst trash I had ever seen. Needless to say I didn't take the food. Rang up to complain and they told me it was that or nothing. So after being refused a refund and the management calling me all names under the sun, I contacted JustEat who got the refund straight away for me. Will never use this place again. Ide stay away unless you want to be screamed at for not wanting ice cold food. Service is disgusting.
