Busy, but still very friendly… good size portion for a senior who just wants a small fish and chips… best chippy in the area

Just been in there a girl came in drunk went behind counter kissing the men, then asked if she could serve 1 person they let her dirty hands then her boyfriend came in swearing while she's behind counter still arms wrapped round them absolutely disgusting wish health inspector s walked in they would of closed them down owners thought it was funny won't go again

I go to this place almost on a weekly basis,the Specials are very well priced and although the fish can be a bit hit and miss at times we'll worth the money and if you have a large family everyone can have fish and chips !!!! The kebabs are spot on and probably a couple of quid cheaper than other local chippies...Nice salad tasty meat and staff are always friendly....just make sure you watch the food put out as my last kebab was missing the salad and the pitta bread !!!! Instead I got meat (lots of it though) and chips !!!! Despite the mistakes I would highly recommend 👍

Pleasant welcome. 4 freshly cooked large cod ordered and informed of 9 minutes to cook, so I was well informed and aware. Had a bit of banter with the staff/team. Well worth it. The food was great. Nice chips. Excellent. Thanks. KEVIN

Cod chips and peas was amazing in fact hard to beat. Huge cod. Also 3 pound cheaper than the other local chippy. Will defo go back.

My local wouldn't use anywhere else, love me a big fat doner reasonable price always use .

Fairly new to the area but have been here a few times now. The fact that the queue is inside the shop AND outside the door tells you all you need to know !!!

I was in the local area and wanted some traditional fish and chips, on Google it advertised being open from 11:30 I waited till 12:05 and went somewhere else as I only had an hour for lunch.

Never got to try the food as I got bored waiting for nearly 10 mins, Whilst the girl on the counter served a customer, who had a large order. And the owner, little bloke with glasses just stood there filling up his sauce pots. Terrible service.

The owner is one horrible person went there about 4 weeks ago during this pandemic he’s put the price up on a kebab by a pound a 20 percent mark up told me to wait outside even though it said maximum of 3 customers at one time. But there was a woman there without a mask and he was happily talking to her inside. The mans a knobhead but the foreign fella is an absolute delight always smiling and talking to you

It’s not cod or haddock, it shouldn’t be for the price. If you are on a budget it’s definitely a great place to get a fish and chip meal for £5.50. I’d say that’s great value. If you want great value, go, if you want great fish and chips don’t..... Service was nice and friendly from the young lady...

This is our regular chip shop. Pretty consistent with the chips. Portion sizes are good and it is good value for money. The kebab is naan is our usual order, plenty of meat and salad. The fish is nice and crispy and the scallop batch is great with plenty of salt and vinger. I always recommend this chippy to others.

When I went to this fish and chip shop I was very young and I lived locally. The chips were amazing especially with salt and vinegar on them. I don’t have the fish because I don’t eat all of it because it is so big. I have a sausage and a fish cake and a bag of chips. I love how much chips you get in a bag. My family is very impressed with the mushy peas and the pies that you can get there.

Was very greasy my husbands jeans were covered in fat from his kebab meat it just poured out

Queue for 30mins (which is fine during a pandemic). Walk home and find that the main items are missing from the order. I’ll be sticking to Jim’s in the future, shame because I really like this chip shop. But never again.

Two month's ago I went in search of a new Fish & Chip shop as my local chip shop opens at 5:30 and quite frankly I don't like their kebab meat (they cut too thick). Here at 3 J's they cut the meat properly and the coleslaw the use is amazing! My son and partner prefer the fish and chips here too. It may not be our local chippy but its definately worth the drive. Friendly team behind the counter as well.

Bloke there was very rude to customers and his staff, talks down to everyone!

Decided to try chip shop. A bit confused I ordered mini fish and chips. People ordered the same after me. They where served and gone. 15 minutes later. Our food was ready. Got home and served up.Fish and no chips.😡. Very disappointed. No phone no to contact them.

Great service with great food time after time.

Popped in today while visiting the industrial estate near by. Wish i hadn't. Had the fish and chip special. The chips were nice then i tried the fish. Oh my god i could smell it before it went near my mouth. The texture was very mushy and watery. I gave it to my dog and he wouldn't even eat it. He eats anything by the way. I'm not sure how they managed to make the fish as disgusting as they did. Maybe it had been frozen for a very long time then thawed out in water. I don't no but what i do no is I'll never eat here again.

Absolutely shocking. They had got our order wrong and chased the car down just to tell us they had given us large chips instead of regular, we had to wait another few minutes to get our regular chips. How petty.... Shocked this place is still open. Oh, and the "new management" is just a farce, same old faces!! Tax dodge maybe??

Fish cooked to order so thought we were on to a winner......wrong, lovely crisp batter but the fish/mush was just awful ordered both cod & haddock and literally could not tell what we were eating. Certainly won't be having fish again which is a shame as the chips were lovely.

We go most we for a chippy tea you can pack just outside the front door so it handy if you have a big order , staff are very friendly and chip are ace

I was greeted (if you can call it that) at 3J’s by a mature worker who didn’t even say hello. I had to repeat my order at least 5x even though I had only ordered 2 things. Once I got home and tried the food, I found that fish I had ordered seemed to have been caught in the Jurassic period. This had led to it being dry as a bone and hard as a fossil. Where you would expect a crisp batter with fluffy tasty fish, this batter was tasteless as was the small amount of meat(?) inside. Worse fish ever.

Great chips and great fast food the boss is very helpful and very friendly. Every time I call here I’m always welcomed with a hello and how am I. Kebabs burgers fish sausage all the usual things in a chippy first class would recommend this place.

I just went to buy some food from this chip shop, I asked for medium chips and chicken meat with a small amount of lettuce on top . Apparently you can either choose salad or chips so I offered to pay for the small amount of lettuce I asked for and they refused saying if I wanted both I would have to buy a large for £6. The medium was £4.30. I asked if they were charging me £1.70 for lettuce ? The man was extremely rude and pulled me dirty looks. The service here is discusting and I personally think they are all morons who work there and will never be going there again. I am really disgusted and I really don't know how they manage to run a legitimate business. They are extorting people for salad. End of

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time. We started using 3Js when our previous chip shop was being refurbished and have never gone back. Staff are extremely friendly too.
