What an awful experience after placing our order we where told we had to wait an hour after an hour and half had past we called to see how much longer the worker had said another 5 minutes after waiting then another half hour we called again to then be told we had cancelled our order which we never did after then explaining that the owner of the buisness starting calling us liars trying to get free food we had to sit on the phone for over 20 minutes trying to get our order when they then put the phone down on me we called again and was then again met with abusive language over the phone we then had to wait another 15 minutes on the phone to get them to eventually send our order out which is now over 2 and half hours late when this did eventually arrive we wish it never had not only was it cold and stale it was full of grease absolutely stunk of old oil and wasn’t even edible couldn’t even feed the leftovers to the dogs as we didn’t want to poison them never will I ever order from this buisness from hell again they just want your money and that’s all stay clear from this unless you want robbed and verbally abused

Absolutely horrendous experience, not only did we wait 2 hours for our food we were told the food would be delivered with a refund, then to be told it was cancelled (when calling for a second time) to see how much longer it would take. I then received shouting abuse down the phone being blamed for the order being cancelled. The boss refused to speak to us while shouting in a foreign language in the background of the phone call. After all this we were told that she wasn’t going to send the food out or give us a refund, it took several minutes of arguing to eventually get the food sent out without having to make another payment. When food did eventually arrive it was cold after being told it would be cooked fresh.

I've used this Chinese takeaway for literally over 15 years! My mum and I regularly ordered to the point they knew her voice when she called and they had our order off by heart and even now they know me when I call. I was devastated when I moved out of their delivery area but have since returned and back using them when I can (usually once or twice a month). NEVER had a fault. Maybe because we always order the same things but not once have they tasted different and certainly never not enjoyed the food. Worst complaint I have is sometimes there seems less meat then other times but like I said, still tastes fine! I'll keep coming back and I still recommend them to friends and family.

Worst Chinese I have had. Majority of the meal was onion. No not there veg at all. Meat was like cheap cuts and almost slimy. The prawn toast were just like deep fried cheap white bread. Absolute waste of money.

Chips and gravy are the ting, lovely service and great tasting food! Will defo buy from again xxxxxx

The village has recently become our regular, their customer service is great and the food is always fresh and delicious. I find their portions are smaller than other Chinese takeaways in Cramlington but the quality of meat is way better. I wouldn’t order anywhere else now as it is consistently good at the village.

First time I have ordered from village and it won't be the last. Politeness when ordering even given a time on when delivery would be made. Spot on. Friendly delivery (even when nav took her to wrong place). Even had a laugh about it . Would definitely recommend this restaurant in my case delivery. Food was hot and enjoyable. Looking forward to next time.

Worst meal I have ever eaten....sorry tried to eat. After 4 mouthfuls my dog was given the pleasure of finishing the plate in fact a tin of chunky chunks would of been more palatable then the cack they serve in a foil tray and try to pass off as a Chinese meal. About sums it up.

Ordered the munchie box at 14.95. Basically the most expensive box of chips I've ever had. Spare ribs had very little meat and were mainly greasy. Salt and chilli chicken was bland and sparse. Chicken balls were 90% greasy batter and 10% chicken. Prawn toast was basically just toast with sesame seeds on top. Nicest part of the meal was the rice. Disgusting food. Shame - pretty much every Chinese takeaway in cramlington is Gross.

Mix grill consisted of a tiny bit of steak,two sausages and some mushrooms! I called in advance to ask what mixed grill consisted of ,this was never it! When I called takeaway they said I was a liar,what a joke. Please be warned,they are rip off merchants who have no sense of customer service. Do not order from these !!!!!

I've used The Village for a number of years, the service is always superb and the food always tastes great. Quick, excellent food at competitive prices. Kirk.

Food is very well priced - compared to competitors in area. Food is excellent, service is brilliant from Jimmy. Would recommend this Chinese takeaway to anyone.

have had a few meals from here without complaint, always hot and taste nice and fresh, would recommend, they also do deliveries which is good especially when weather is getting a bit cold

3 takeaways in 1 month and every meal tasted exactly the same when I ordered completely different meals . They do not know how to cook and haven't a clue what oyster sauce should taste like . I would never ever eat from this place again

We've used this take away for years but never again. Ordered two meals for delivery. Once delivered and opened one meal, a mixed grill,had a sausage that looked like a dried up dog turd. It was unfit for consumption and had obviously been overcooked to the point of burning and/or had been left keeping warm for hours. On ringing to complain, instead of apology and immediate offer of replacement he started quizzing me about it. I told him we had been customers for years (which he must have known given our address) and it was disgraceful what we had been sent. He reluctantly agreed to replace the meal, however when the driver arrived he had brought the main meal but not any replacement chips! I phoned the shop while the driver was still here and asked why he hadn't replaced the entire meal and I wanted a full replacement. he then had the cheek to complain that sending the driver back would mean he would have to pay him for another delivery!! Again no apology whatsoever. He did eventually replace the entire meal but with bad grace. I told him never to expect our custom again and I meant it.

Takeaway only. Even though there was not many people waiting to be served the food took quite a while to come and to be honest it wasn't worth the wait, yes it was hot but the grease was running out of the cartons, it was that bad. We had 8 different meals and they all looked the same. Certainly won't be going back.

Does all the usual Chinese stuff -freshly done, quite nice. Cheaper than Mandarin Bay around the corner, which is a restaurant rather than just takeaway and somewhat more up-market. Cash only here, mind you.

Fantastic atmosphere and lovely food. No complaints would go back again. Have a few deals on through the week.

It's all pre prepared food but fine if you look at costs. Very family friendly with numerous tv screens for sports fans.

Very disappointing food, mass produced, rushed and cramped, entertainment just mediocre at best, drinks very very over priced, won't rush back

With a few pubs and restaruants within a small area this makes for a good night out for friends or family, There are Italian, Indian and Chinese restaraunts and take aways available many with deals during the week, The pubs are friendly places without too much LOUD music.

We had a great do for my husbands 50th birthday. It was a tribute to Lady Ga Ga . we had a meal first which was extremely tasty and the bar had specials on so it wasn't too expensive . Lady and the ga gas were fabulous and the diso after completed a great night out.
