A very friendly pub with great food. A pleasant experience, excellent staff and easy access from the water. Bev was brilliant looking after us and the steak was perfect. Photos below were our actual meals, not photoshopped. Great value!

We had a baby shower there today, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to help with or do - they were truly amazing. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lauren and all of her wonderful staff. :)

New Years Day meal with family added unexpected bonus as they had a live band on. Great starters mains and puddings. Thanks Abi and Sarah great service and amazing start to 2025.

I had the best lunch with my family 20 of us no fuss great service great food and the wine worked . We parked Up the lane in a designated car park. The girls were great especially Lauren who is heavily pregnant good luck to you and Nathan thank you so much we will be back oh Bev was great too Sambuca anyone??

Late decision to have Sunday roast which meant only Beef available, which did not disappoint. Totally delicious, nice portion size along with all the trimmings along with an extra side of cauliflower cheese and not forgetting the pigs in blankets. Abi was attentive and such a pleasure to have serve us. Made more enjoyable by the chilled live music, such an enjoyable atmosphere Thank you

Christmas dinner for 21 for a Hamble based motorcycle group and partners. The whole meal / event was amazing from start to finish food was great, except the Xmas pudding which was a 5/10. Band in the main bar was great. Will definitely be back again soon, thanks to Dan and his team.

Decided to have lunch here on Sunday as it’s very local to me and I’d just got back from the airport. I had hunters chicken and my husband had the roast. I asked if I could swap the salad for peas, which was not a problem. Husband said his roast was really tasty. There is always a lovely atmosphere in here especially on a Sunday afternoon, when they have entertainment and then a meat, cheese and wine draw. I get that everybody’s tastes are different but I would highly recommend The Victory for food or even just a pint or two.

Just enjoyed a lovely meal on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere was busy with good live music, and a nice buzz. All three meals (fish pie, fish and chips and the Vegan burger and fries) were piping hot and tasty at a decent price. We all enjoyed the food. Thanks Victory Inn. 👍

HORRENDOUS! Came here after seeing a review about the roast dinner so brought the family with us. Booked a table and turned up waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We eventually got seated and was told that roasts were only served until a certain time even though it doesn’t state this anywhere on the website when booking. We waited 20 minutes to order a drink and stood at the bar upstairs waiting to be served and the staff were too busy standing round having their own conversation than serving us. We had to find staff several times asking for more drinks and an update with our food because it took so long. The main menu food we waited an hour for food, not ideal when you have two young kids waiting to be fed. The food that came out was awful, my partners food was pie and mash which the mash lumpy and 100% microwaveable, the pie had little to no filling. My chicken burger was so dry i couldn’t even eat it and sent it back. There excuse for the delay was due to a table of 10 that came in, if you cannot handle big tables don’t allow bookings for them. I have no idea where all these reviews for good food has come from but we didn’t see this tonight. Really disappointed!

We only went in for a drink and found it to be friendly. The beer was excellent served by someone who obviously cared about her job. Our four-legged friend was well looked after as well.

My family and I came here for 2 for 1 steak night last week for an 18th birthday. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and one of the waitresses even put a candle in a cake for us as we had left our cake at home 😊

We visited The Victory inn and had a few drinks and a meal. We were served by the delightful Kelly who was super friendly and helpful. The food was really good as well. I had rump steak with peppercorn sauce and my partner had steak fajitas. Both were cooked perfectly and were truly delicious.

Late lunch with the family today to celebrate granddaughter's birthday. Service by Liv was excellent, she looked after us very well ensuring that we wanted for nothing. A great time had by all. Thanks very much.

We had a large group which included children but the team were so brilliant. Everything came on time and everything was correct - not the normal in some places. Liv was amazing. She looked after us so well. Great find and I'm embarrassed to say, the Men's loos are worth checking out. Really unusual urinals!!

I went there for a lovely pint and a steak & ale pie. It was lovely and very tasty but there was something missing. The gravy is heavenly and the hand-cooked chips were also very nice but the pie was really small in my opinion. But the whole staff was very kind.

Listen I was here at 8pm on a Tuesday night so let's not get too critical. The barman was a proper barman, chatty, and didn't faf he just asked "same again?" I like that. The Guinness was solid 8/10. I'm sure this place gets much much better in the sun and on weekends! I'll definitely be back to see!

Went down to try this pub Sunday 8th September came away very disappointed as we had to wait 45 minutes for food my husband ordered the pie and it turned up with no vegetables and I ordered ham , egg and mash but it turned up with chips and one slice of ham was all discoloured around the edges which I left on the plate . Shame as we went to try it after looking at the reviews.

Had a fantastic night for my wife’s 40th Birthday meal. The staff catered for 16 of us! everyone’s meals were spot on and all came out together. Outstanding service, Liv and Dan were brilliant! Would highly recommend

OK food definitely nothing special

Dog friendly pub in Hamble. Friendly bar staff and a good selection of food. Lunch menu served until 4 pm. I think food service continues after this. Dogs allowed on ground floor. The main bar area is old stone, handy if your dog has a wee. Our two puppies didn't, I'm pleased to say. Left end of the bar is a carpeted area with tables and fire place if you like it a bit more cozy. There's an upstairs area and a covered outside area with lots of bench tables. Prices were very reasonable.

Beautiful food, steak cooked to perfection! Good value for money, staff very helpful and friendly - Monday night steak night, 241 definitely worth a trip! Quaint location cannot fault anything, thank you @The Victory 😃

Please don't eat here i ordered brisket fajitas, i got so sirloin , it was grissly, i wasn't told beforehand was gonna be changed. I didnt eat any of the meat, told the manager and waitress, they did nothing, they weren't interested. I won't ever eat here again waist ofmoney . Thanks for taking responsibility and no refund

Saw earlier in the week a new menu was being released and knew we had to come and try it! Fantastic options for all courses and plenty of gluten free and vegetarian choices. We went for the garlic mushrooms and chilli and garlic king prawns to start, they were both incredible! For mains our son had the pizza with added ham, a brilliant sized portion for a kids meal! We had the sirloin steak medium well and the new Nelsons Column burger, both cooked perfectly and the burger was definitely impressive! Sadly we were too full for desserts which was a shame as so much to choose from! Amazing food, great atmosphere, brilliant service!!

Went here with a friend. Haven't eaten here for a long time, I heard it had swapped owners. The service was OK, the food was OK (ordered a medium to well done steak and it came out well done) wasn't given any sort of steak knife and the staff weren't very chatty.

I’ve just had the best I mean the best shepards pie! Definitely not disappointed! Lamb mince also lamb chunks inside….. bloody delicious! Best by far in a while. My partner had fish pie! He felt the same as me was not disappointed, all the fish proper fish pie. Thank you to the lovely waiter bev and cara so kind and friendly very helpful. I will be coming back steak night looks too good to miss. Thank you for having us :)

A great pub with friendly staff and locals. As soon as I picked up a menu 2 chatty customers next to me recommended the pie as it was pie night. They both had their own preferences but I went for steak and Guinness - Which came with a pint. We sat upstairs and were really well looked after. This place stood out from the rest of the pubs here which I have been to many times. It is a real ale pub with nice people and good food.

Have always loved this pub, visited many times but today was the last. Enjoying quiet drink having ordered a meal. Everything going well until a visit by a lady with newborn baby and friends. Obviously knew the bar staff and all stood right behind our table having a loud catch up, couldn't speak to each other due to the racket and felt like we were in a creche, not a pub! We now know all the details of the birth - thanks! Bar staff encouraged this but should have suggested having a chat elsewhere and not right on top of us. Had to get up and move outside in the end. Also beer price (£7.25 a pint) absolute rip-off. Not the pub we used to know and love.

Lovely little pub in the heart of of the town. Real ale (Flaks Double Drop) was excellent and the staff really friendly. Love the design of the urinals, now I know how Carling is made :)

Lovely attractive village pub close to the quayside and all the local marinas. We just popped in for a quick drink so didn't eat, but pub was busy with locals and many dogs, so popular with dog owners. Lovely friendly atmosphere, very spacious additional seating area for dining and a nice beer garden. I understand that it has recently changed management, and it looks like they're off to a cracking start, I wish them well.

My husband and I visited recently with our daughter in laws. I have to say that this was probably the nicest pub visit we have had in an age. The food was good and it was mid day and not too busy. The waitress was northern and due to go on holiday - we could not have wished for a nicer member of staff. You should treasure her. In fact all staff fantastic. We will be back.

Had a lovely Sunday roast. Generous portion and lots of veg variety and properly cooked roast pots. Yorkshire pudding was lovely and freshly made. Perfect. Great new management.!

Popped in on a busy Sunday, at lunch time. Service was very quick, staff were really polite and friendly. Our waitress was Sami, she was quick to seat us, take our orders and was happy to help and answer any questions we had about the menu. The food arrived quickly and was the best meal we've had out in a long time. Would (and have) 100% recommend this resteraunt to anyone and will be returning soon.

One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had in ages. Forgot to post a review last Sunday. I’ve had worse in quality restaurants. Awesome meal and great friendly staff. Proper old pub feel at same time. Spend of £30-£40 per person was inclusive of desert and 3 drinks each. 👍🏻

Had a lovely roast dinner (huge portion), had the option to have a side of cauliflower cheese or pig in blankets but the dishes we saw coming out, we knew we didn’t need a side. The service was great, really friendly and attentive. Not bad value for money. £40 2x roast pork with loads of veg, Yorkshire pud & apple sauce (+ extra gravy) and 2x alcohol free drinks. Would’ve loved a desert but were just too full!

Excellent venue! Right in the middle of hamble and perfect for any occasion. Great for live music at the weekends, Sunday roasts and food here seems to be very popular. Reasonable prices, staff came across polite and friendly. 100% worth a visit.

We visit hamble about twice a month and usually eat out for one evening out of two. Over the last couple of months we have tried the food in the Victory, mainly on Friday or Saturday evenings. After 4 visits, where we have said we must review them each time, I've finally gotten round to it. This particluar visit, was about 8pm on Thursday evening, and not wishing to delay we ordered two steaks medium rare. Service was prompt and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The barman was friendly and even took the food order whilst juggling another drinks order, so we wouldn't be waiting so long for it. Previously we have had their brisket fajitas, sizzling with tender, smoky meat and vibrant vegetables, which are a must-try and still the high bar we compare all fajitas too. My daughter also complemented the burger on a previous occasion. All in all this is our go to pub for a quick drink after the drive down and then for a meal when there is no live entertainment as that seems very popular.

Waited 1hr 50min for our food despite the fact we pre-booked, pre-ordered, and paid a deposit. They kept using as an excuse that there was another big table… that also pre-booked. Why charge a deposit if they’re not going to prepare for it? Once the food finally came it was (not surprisingly) the most generic pub food around. The gammon steak was at best thick bacon. The hunter’s chicken was a chicken sandwich without the bread. After we pressed them on it, they acquiesced and offered a round of drinks… after the meal came. Otherwise very little attentiveness while we waited. Hard Pass next time we’re in Hamble. There are so many other better places.

I had a salad and if seems to have reduced in size and quality and increased in price since my last visit possibly a year or so ago.

Not the best as all locals were out that night and stood in door way aving a fag and all smoke came in as people were eating not nice

Popped in with some friends for a quick bite. The food was acceptable, but the whole experience was marred by the incredible pricing. £4.20 for a small glass of coke is one example. There are far better places to eat and drink in the vicinity - walk past The Victory and choose another spot.

Lovely little pub, very freindly atmosphere and nice food too. They are also dog freindly in the pub area, there is a restauraunt/food area but is closed, I think this is open during peak season as the place can get quite busy in the summer time what with it being close to a few yacht clubs.

Looks well inside , Nice atmosphere however badly let down ( for me ) by the sheer god awful pints of Guinness they serve. Clueless bar staff in terms of pouring and taste simply awful. Shame as nice looking pub

Had such a lovely evening at the victory for a friends 40th there was 25 of us eating and all the food came out together very hot which is always hard to do and tasted delicious, Loren and the staff were very accommodating and helpful, would definitely recommend x

We had my husbands 40th here last night. There was 27 for a sit down meal which is a lot to take on. Food was nice and hot on serving. We all had a fab evening! The staff couldn’t have done enough for me, from arriving to decorate in the afternoon til leaving at closing. I’d like to thank the staff accommodating us all!

Visited on new year's day for a nice pub lunch to relax after the festive period madness. Food was great, good value with decent sized portions, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again!

As we approached at the door, a lady leaving said "You have got to go in, it's awesome!" So in we went and were served by two enthusiastic and friendly ladies at the bar, one taking our drinks order, and one our food order. Well, it was the most friendly welcome we've had in a pub. Sunday roast arrived, all nicely cooked with best roast potatoes we have had when eating out. Good variety of vegetables too. All attentively served, nothing seemed too much trouble to the ladies attending to our needs. Best pub Sunday lunch we have had - six stars.

We love the victory and it's welcoming atmosphere. George and Jamie have done an excellent job with the menu and have offered a wholesome and varied choice. They're very good with their beers, highly ranked.
