Lovely little cafe - been a few times now, for three of us, lunch (Jacket potatoes / quiche etc) and drinks was £20 ish. Jacket Potato (didnt have my choice of topping when I went!) come with salad. Potatoes were lovely! Nicely decorated and airy - The walled gardens outside (dementia friendly) are lovely, some aspects of the gardens are very neglected though and do look scruffy.

Afternoon tea in the main house. Thank you to Alison and the team that put together a beautiful adfternoon tea for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The food and service was excellent. The room we chose (library)was also beautifully presented. Everyone had a nice time and complimented the whole venue. Thank you so much

I so wanted to love this place. A quiet cafe in a walled garden, but it was a little disappointing and left much to be desired. Cakes looked a little meh, and we didn’t even buy any- which is unusual for us! We ordered paninis which were disappointing. The chicken, bacon and cheese had so little filling in that you might as well just call it bread. Whereas the pesto, mozzarella and tomato had so much pesto in that it was overpowering. All in all a disappointing lunch, and we won’t be heading back there. Such a shame as the setting is gorgeous.

Not many allergen friendly options. If you are intolerant to wheat/oats/eggs/milk/soya you wont have many food choices as it focuses mainly on wheat based items like cakes, crisps and sandwhiches. It would be nice to modernise and add almond milk to the roster for hot drinks and maybe some fruits such as bananas/apples/berries for those who cant eat wheat or oats. It would be fun to see some mocktail style juice drinks pop up for the summer months along with something different like fresh water melon slices or pineapple

Lovely venue, perfect tea, coffee & scones. Young man who served us very polite & efficient. Only downside was we arrived at 3pm and were not allowed to sit in the reading room area of the cafe, the impression I got was the young people staffing the establishment were keen on leaving quickly? Otherwise it was a good experience. I look forward to returning to see if things have changed.

What a fantastic welcome and service. Out dog walking party finished our walk and stopped for refreshments. We had the courtyard area to ourselves and the ladies who ran the cafe gave us sausages for the dogs. Amazing, we felt so welcome.

I was blown away by how beautiful this place was. Great choice of food, and just so many pretty places to sit, both inside and out. 5 mins off A1. So much better than stopping at services.

I came here to have brunch for a business meeting, I had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows which was lovely and a toasted tea cake which was also very nice! Not a bad price either and a good variety of things to choose from.

Great, reasonably-priced food. In the summer, it's nice to sit outside on the terrace which overlooks the old walled-garden of the "big house."

This is hardly a place where you could stumble upon it. It is in the grounds of St Catherines Hospital. The menu is well displayed, the food is genuinely good and served by people who seem to care very much about what they do. It is well worth a visit. It is quieter on a weekend when hospital staff are not working.

I came here for a business meeting and found it to be the perfect location, lovely surroundings and the tea room was open and spacious. I could see there were other meetings taking place here too. I had a scone with jam and cream which was lovely and a bottle of dandelion and burdock. Only thing I would say is it would have been a nice touch to be given some ice with my drink to keep it cool on a warm day!

A big thank you to Kaye and the team at the Victorian Tea Rooms (cafe flourish ) for the beautiful food for my daughter in law's baby shower this afternoon. Had a room to ourselves in the old library in st Catherine's house. The sandwiches were plentiful with lots of choice. The Scones, Victoria Sponge, and brownies were delicious all home made. Would definately recommend and will be back to the tea rooms to sample some of the other cakes.

Must be totally honest, not enjoying the new look, I personally think the old look was more in keeping with the building and had gentle colour schemes, the new colour scheme is too strong.

Met up with an old friend for lunch here. Have been before and noticed it's a busy little place. Today was no exception. Struggled to get a table. We decided we'd reserve a table on our next visit as it's clear that this lovely venue is becoming the place to go for good quality, home cooked food. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will return soon

This is a lovely friendly place for lunch. The food is good and the atmosphere is welcoming. We really enjoyed our lunch here followed by a walk in the walled garden. This is set up to be dementia friendly and it is so relaxing. The colours and the scents add to the peaceful feel and there is a shop selling garden gifts and plants. The tea-rooms and garden is well worth a visit. A real hidden gem.

My friends meet regularly and always the same question "where shall we go?" and usually the answer is "Victorian Tea Room". Warm, comfortable, clean and friendly staff with a good selection of food and drinks and no rush to leave. Give it a try and then walk across to the V & A Antiques. Another little hidden gem!

On a beautiful sunny day yesterday visited this local gem of a place with its fabulous tea rooms and walled garden. Absolutely wonderful. Tea and cake were do reasonably priced and cake moist and tasty. Tea rooms sells few locally made crafts and preserves also. The walled garden is a pleasure to walk around. Am ordering a couple of beautiful hanging baskets. Never seem better in any other garden centre and prices excellent.

Located in the old wood storage room of St Catherine's House, in the ground's of Tickhill Road Hospital, I am a little loathe to 'share' this 'Hidden Gem', however, putting all selfishness to one side - and to ensure this enterprise continues, I have to tell the world - OK, those sensible, laid back, chilled out people, if you enjoy good old fashioned charming tea rooms, then this is an absolute must. I have visited now on numerous occasions, for lunch, afternoon tea and - rarely - just a cuppa, and have never been disappointed. In quiet, beautiful surroundings there really is no better place in Doncaster to enjoy a traditional treat. The prices are extremely competitive - £12.95 for afternoon tea for two with all the usual and more. I recommend you book and after two in the afternoon is a quieter time. Oh, one more thing, which I find very unusual, they're closed on Saturdays.

Just want to make you aware of these people who own this place.... i did clean there windows.. and first i cleaned one of there windows they watched me clean them, then when it came to pay me for cleaning them, they said they didn't want them cleaning anymore having watched me clean them.... then the second time around they did exactly the same again..... they could of stopped me before i started to clean them... absolutely very sneaky disgusting.... that's the sort of people these are!!!!

We had been here once before under a previous management, when we thought the food was A. a bit pricey and B. a bit pretentious. Yesterday's experience was very different. The outside area when we walked up from the car park needed a bit of a clean, especial as the compound for litter is in full view and was full to the top of cartons and other rubbish. It wasn't a good first impression but we forgot all about it when greeted by a lovely member of staff, (Maisie?) who was very welcoming. Our table was in one of the small dining areas off the main bar area. We had a little wander around after we had eaten and the whole downstairs is very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and able to deal with our requests. We ordered two starters and mentioned that the third member of our party might be allowed to share. As a result, the waitress brought a third plate. The starters - fish cakes and ham terrine - were very nice indeed, although, in retrospect, I should have just had a main course, as the portions were quite generous. All three of us had the Barnsley Chops for a main and they did not disappoint. However, they were served in a shallow bowl and I would have preferred a proper dinner plate. It made cutting the meat from the bone quite difficult. We also had a side order of cauliflower cheese and it was enough for all three of us to share. Everything was very nicely cooked and presented. Dessert was the hazelnut cheesecake, which was pleasant, if a little bland. Very good coffee the end the meal. All in all, a very nice experience and I would recommend 1903 for a special lunch out.
