Outstanding pub serving a huge selection of ales and craft beers. Great service and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect place to set the world to rights with friends. Pork pie snacks are also quality, but you're not here for that.

The pies!! The pies!! Oh, and the beer. As far as I’m concerned this place is a must-stop if I’m in Halifax. In fact I’d say it’s actually one of the reasons I’d cross the Pennines in the first place. Temporarily, mind. 🌹

Always a pleasure at VCBC. Beer selection unrivaled in Halifax and many surrounding towns. Service, music selection and decor all very very good. Remains one of my go to bars.

It was very busy and a great atmosphere. I really liked the interior lots of different areas. The bar felt a bit small for the number of customers but the bar staff were very friendly and very efficient. Probably the nicest pub/ bar I have been in for a long time shame I'm not a craft beer drinker.

The Victorian Craft Beer Cafe is a very nice and friendly place. Even though they do a lot of beer, they also do hot chocolate for something to keep warm in winter like me.

Pub got a very good range of beers in this multi - roomed pub , its won loads of awards.

The cosiest pub ever! We came for the first time on mad Friday with the intention of having one and moving on and stayed all night. It has the loveliest atmosphere, the drinks selection is great and the staff were all super friendly! One of my new favourite places to visit for drinks.

Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. A fantastic quirky bar on different levels with a great vibe and decent clientele. Large selection of real ales, wines, spirits and ciders. Great music and friendly staff. I would recommend.

Chilled out oasis of excellent beers. If you like continental beers, this is the place to be. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Can't rate the food as they only do pork pies, no use to a vegetearian! Other than that I can't rate this place highly enough, the staff are always knowledgeable and helpful and there's always a great range of beers. Especially good for me when the Back in Black dark beer festival arrives in December.

Great, great beer bar, feels like something from a movie! Sadly they only had 3 bottles of cider in haha but it is a beer bar, so I can't hate them for it, I just can't have beer. Great bar, great ambience! Loved it!

Excellent beers, great venue, a must visit

This for me is one of, if not the best pub I've ever been in, this place had it all. The cask beer was simply sublime and the glass when finished was etched with beautiful lacing. The beer choice of cask and keg was very large, something for everyone and the building itself was amazing. 🥇Gold medal winner.

Great little pub, with a relaxed atmosphere, even when busy. Authentic Yorkshire Tapas served, pork pie and a pint, who can ask for more? Huge selection of beers and truly a great experience.

Best bar in calderdale by far, lovely atmosphere and quirky interior, unrivalled selection of quality cask ales, keg, ciders, wines, gins and bottled beers, great selection of bar snacks and pies, staff top notch with plenty of knowledge and make you feel very welcome, a must if you are in the area, keep up the good work guys.

Love, love , love the Victorian Craft Beer Cafe. Really good selection of Beers from all over the world. Always something new to try. The staff are always friendly and happy to recommend a drink if your not sure what you want. Great atmosphere , plenty of space and seating available. Live music on a Sundays too.

No idea if it serves food, we just went for late night drinks. Great old world feel, very cosy, much bigger than we thought.

I’ve lived in the area for 4 years now and only recently discovered this place! I managed to pop in for the first time and it was lovely! Only had a couple of drinks and not food, so this review is based on drinks/atmosphere only A great atmosphere; lovely interior and a great range of craft beers available. I will be going back.

The best selection and quality of beer in Halifax.

Well what can I say about this bar. We went in there to celebrate my sons 21st birthday with family and his friend. When his friend went to the bar they wouldn't serve him becausel they said he wax too drunk. He wasn't drunk at all and all my family agreed that he wasn't drunk he was just happily enjoying everyone's company. Because they wouldn't serve his friebd my son went to the bar and ordered a drink for himself and his friend. He cane back uo the table with 2 pints of beer. Before we knew it the staff member who was collecting glasses took the glass away from him and we all had to leave. It was absolutely disgusting what happened because he wasn't loud or being a nuisance to anyone. We will never go to that bar again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Your bar is an absolute disgrace.

The best place in town for a drink at anytime of day. Always a great selection to choose from. Also do a cracking (but hard) quiz once per month which comes with amazing food.

This beautiful building gets a 5+ for the beers alone. Head and shoulders above anything else that Halifax and beyond has to offer, it boasts a bewildering selection of beers; Trappist, Traditional ales (Tim Taylor Landlord!) great, straight up German Pilsners, and a host of IPAs. For a beer enthusiast, this is Heaven. God knows how they keep it all in tip-top condition....but they do! The staff are efficient and very friendly and helpful. But it is the place itself which really wins you over. It's all wood and leather and plush seats and candles and, it just keeps going over 3 levels! An absolute delight. A friendly crowd, more of your laid back adult crowd, its not a party venue in the modern sense. Having said that it hosts regular live music (which is great!) Along with pub quizzes. They don't have a menu but do ha e a wicked range of hand made pork pies. Take a good look at the pictures as they describe this place better than words ever could. Enjoy!

Stopped in here for a drink after a meal, never been before. It has a lot of what I like, many books and cosy places to sit. The decor has wood, wrought iron and stained glass, very good

Quirky bar, full of nooks and crannies in which to sit with local crooks and grannies. Actually, the clientele are generally young and polite but I can't resist a rhyme.

Always a huge range of beers and coffee with something for everyone. A superb sprawling extended seating area in different levels with plenty of cosy snug corners and also has huge tables to crowd around if visiting in larger groups. The decor is outstanding and the older features of the building which have been retained are beautiful. This is a jewel in the crown of Halifax and definitely worth a visit.

Dont go here. Its horrible. They serve beer and pies. Nothing good ever comes from drinking beer and eating pies.

I love the quirkiness quietness of this place. Bloody good beers, mightily expensive, but tasty. The toilets confused me, I can see it being an issue when you've had one too many...

I dropped in here for a quiet afternoon beer and that's what I got. Wide ranging selection of beers to choose from...and plenty of seating and corners to hide away in. It makes this venue a characterful pub.
