The Verandah in Worthing

Accidentally came to The Verandah, it was superb and would definitely recommend. My husband is in a wheelchair, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, easily accessible and toilet accessible, very clean, food very tasty and great coffee and milkshake. Highly recommend.

First visit since COVID. Very impressed with this cafe for breakfast. First class food, nice and hot. Spotless floor and table surfaces clean. The staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Maybe the not very slight problem was that the breakfasts should have been served on a hot plate. Well worth the menu and the staff.

Bad attitude of one member of staff. Ruined a planned special lunch. We had to walk out, without eating,! We had booked in advance for three people but when we arrived the table was only for two. The member of staff argued that she was right that the table was only booked for two. Made us feel very uncomfortable.

Great service friendly atmosphere

The coffee here is lovely . You can sit outside if the weather permits and there is a very good varied menu . Breakfasts , lunch time specials and cakes , are all good . In addition there is now a permanent extension to the front. It has a retractable roof and sides so you can enjoy the late and early summer sun without sitting in the cold wind. The Sun really warms the area up so you can sit inside and feel like you are outside.

Visited for the first time yesterday for my mum's friend's birthday. The food was delicious, homemade brie and sundried tomato quiche 😋 My mum is in a wheelchair and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating, providing a ramp for easy access. I also took home the most delicious cheesecake and another quiche for my daughter who was equally enthusiastic. Would recommend this place 100%.

Wow, what a little gem in Goring, our first time there, we were made most welcome by our waitress and she had a wonderful banter with us. When the food came, we were most impressed. We will certainly visit The Verandah again and bring our friends for a perfect light lunch. Loved Trevor, very helpful and a beautiful waitress made it a perfect visit. See you again Guys xx

Nice cafe with outdoor covered seating area so good in all weather but noisy with the constant cars going by. Maybe quieter sitting right inside. Nice selection of food thought n friendly staff.

Went for a coffee, what an experience I approached the counter to order and was totally engorged for 5 mins although there were three staff standing around propping up doors. Eventually I was told very off hand to take a seat and someone would take my order. Ordered coffee and tea which came promptly I glanced up at the blinds in the window as you do and they were filthy, looking around me the surfaces were dirty the floor has not seen a mop for weeks there was mild growing around the window probably due to the damp ? Anyway it had lifted the paint and looked active By this time I asked for the bill and left [ Wontbe going back there ever]

Worst place ever dirty floors tables blinds at windows with active mould on windows Went there for a coffee, it’s on a busy main road and people seem to like eating among carbon monoxide poisoning. It was so bad we had to leave would not recommend this dirty hole to anyone. The staff are rude inattentive until you ask for the bill ?

We have been here as a family many times. The service is brilliant and the food always excellent. Thank you to all the staff. We’d recommend the lasagna, the lovely range of quiches, sandwiches and salads and the fantastic Fisherman’s platter. We’ll be back really soon!

I had a fabulous vegetarian breakfast at The Veranda, my cousin had Eggs Benedict which looked equally nice. The ladies who served us were very nice and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. I will be going back!

Amazing food and drink and is so affordable. The eggs Benedict with the salmon was really nice, chi latè was really refreshing and the milkshake are really creamy, not very sweet at all and we'll balanced. I only spent around £13 for it all. Very much recommend.

I was a bit stuck in Goring at Motorhome workshop, having solar panels fitted to my motorhome…. They want to start work at 0800 so breakfast was out of the question. On their advice I visited the Verandah cafe. A number of points… I was welcomed with a cheerful smile and a nice “Good morning”… Yes… sit anywhere. I had only just sat when a menu arrived and I was asked what I would like to drink… “Double Espresso” please…. It duly arrived, together with a glass of water… The way it should be…I was later able to observe that the cup was heated with hot water (!). Wonderful flavour, with a nice “crema” and, of course it stayed hot longer…. Really enjoyable.. I a sure that all the other coffees are up to the same standard. I discovered that the owner has found an excellent local source of beans…. It really does make all the difference. And yes…. I did have breakfast, which was also excellent. Two eggs (fried, scrambled or poached), sausage, two bacon rashers, tomato and beans… I swapped the tomato and beans for an extra sausage and a hash brown. The bacon was tender and tasty, the sausage(s) delicious and the eggs not at all greasy. Accompanied by a slice of toast (in two halves) choice of white or granary and each half had its own butter portion. One the first day I followed that with toast and marmalade… again butter portion per half slice and a really generous portion of marmalade. The produce is all locally sourced (sausages and bacon from local butchers) and you can taste the difference!!! I have to assume that the rest of the very adequate menu is of the same very high standard. Breakfast £6.25. Double Espresso £1.95. What’s not to like!!!

Only stopped in whilst waiting for my partner but quite busy and friendly ordered coffee which was bought outside as I was smoking, good clean eating areas, good coffee, would use again.

I have been visiting for several months for coffee or for lunch, with my elderly mother or with friends. I have always enjoyed the food - especially the homemade items. The soup was particularly good over the winter months and the salads are very good now. I have also had and enjoyed the homemade lasagne. I was wondering how it would feel in this new Covid world, but bravely booked a table a few weeks ago. I had no need to worry. All the staff wear masks, many inside tables have been removed to allow more distancing. Menus get wiped down after use as do the tables. Having been a couple of times and felt safe, I was then able to take my elderly mother there for coffee and cake - the lemon drizzle is particularly good and her favourite! - it was her first time visiting anywhere since early March and she really enjoyed it. I shall be taking her again!

Booked a few weeks ago for a breakfast treat taking advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. Very good service as soon as we walked in taking our details for track and trace, staff wearing masks and layout of tables suitably apart. We sat inside but there is also seating outside. A great selection of breakfasts to choose from and being able to swop and add extras is great for the fussy kids! Service was great and food was amazing as always. Kids enjoyed their Oreo milkshakes (the best they have had!) and excellent coffee. Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing coffee shop.

Came in at a lunch time to make use of the government's eat out to help out initiative for a nice socially distant lunch with a friend, the price charged even with the discount felt excessive given the low quality received though I must admit had this been full price I would have been even more disappointed. The food So when I ordered a basic chicken and bacon wrap I didn't go in expecting much, and while all three components (chicken bacon and wrap) were provided the fact that only 50% of it had been warmed was a little bit alarming, the chicken was clearly from the fridge while the bacon had been cooked which made for a really odd meal. I ate half of this wrap to make sure it wasn't just the middle that hadn't cooked and left the other half awaiting the waitress to come back to ask us about our meal. A side note is that the portion size was also very meager which didn't help either, I left very hungry The staff After waiting a reasonable amount of time and seeing our waitress constantly coming out to see how other tables were doing I eventually cracked and realised that they just didn't care if our food was ok, I ate the other half and waited a further long amount of time to be asked if we wanted anything more, we said no expecting a bill to be forthcoming, spoiler alert it was not. Another member of staff came to ask if we wanted anything else again to which this time I said no and specifically requested the bill which did finally arrive, upon recieving the bill we were finally asked if we enjoyed our meal, when I said no and explained why the member of staff didn't seem to take much notice which I take to mean she either A didn't care, or B this was a common complaint and therefore not surprising. I honestly didn't think such a simple order could leave to such an awful review, the only reason this is a 2 star rather than a 1 star review is that this is my only experience so for all I know this is a very unlikely occurance I don't think I'll be going back again though how a quick sandwich meal can create an hour and a half of disappointment is beyond me. Pros - our drinks were nice

What used to be a lovely lunch venue, has changed, hugely. Both food and drinks were tasteless, and a lunch for 3 cost in excess of £40 - for food and drinks that were of a very low standard!

Friendly, welcoming and lovely food

Good food, nice space and not too crowded between the tables. Good range of options and always tasty. Service can sometimes take a while but that's prob a sign of it being home cooked rather than ready meals I guess, but worth being aware of if you are in a hurry. If not in a hurry then it's a great place for a coffee and sandwich or a light lunch. Also has a couple of outside tables on sunny days.

Very welcoming family run restaurant. Have had lunch here as well as a Christmas meal with a group of colleagues. I ( and they ) all enjoyed the food, of which there was a good variety.

Every time I come here I am never disappointed. The food is gorgeous. Homely type, what mum used to make. Service is lovely. The ladies are always accommodating. We love it here and cant recommend enough.

We happened upon this Cafe/Bar a while ago and discovered that they were planning a series of Christmas Dinners nearer the time. We booked for last Friday evening and had the most delicious 3 course meal. I am gluten, diary and egg intolerant - they catered wonderfully for both myself and my husband who can eat pretty much anything!Well done The Verandah!!! Our only problem was with the lights which were a little too bright for our liking.
