Found this place to be one of the best for consistently delivering a good meal. Tried different places but wife and I have found this place best so far.

Good chippy. Excellent Chinese food. Delivery available. Cash only! It's usually pretty easy to park outside but if not there's a huge car park a 2 minute walk away.

I still think it's the best chippy in Ellesmere port.

It’s ok the salt and pepper chips were far to salty and hardly done they weren’t up to standard the first time I came here it was decent now it’s slacked I also had the soup and that was far too watery I probably won’t be coming back

Absolute rubbish Didnt get what I ordered the sent guy back held his Hand out expecting more money I ordered fish dinner had next to no chips Those we had were cold and greasy they also.smothered on cold peas Fish was so thin think it was on a diet. Wouldn't eat here even if you paid me Not even a mention of my money back poor poor poor . Don't eat here

Great Fish and Chips And Good Chinese Food

Great service, very quick.. food was delicious and pricing is good too.

❌AVOID❌ Had peking ribs, bbq chicken wings, char Sui spring rolls, fried rice and anaemic chips. The peking sauce was disgusting and just jelly and the wings OMG I’ve never tasted something even worse battered wings in what is supposed to be bbq sauce in a form of tasteless jelly! Soggy wings. The spring rolls looked like they had been partly cooked and so tough to bite through. £22 ripoff and was Luke warm. Will not be going back. Need a real chef to know what food should taste and be cooked like. I’m surprised no one has be I’ll from here. The only item that was okay to eat was the fried rice and scraped off the sauce to the ribs. Everything else was tasted and thrown away.

Food sound, staff helpful, only had a few dishes from here, nice enough chippy, try it and decide for yourself 👍

chips was soggy & hard. too much oil in it. ribs was stale. looks like yesterdays but they had them batter again for the nxt day. yucky. Won't ever order from here again. waste of £££

Never order a mixed grill from here aagain . Very fatty steak . Tasteless bacon and sausage. Liver was ok . But rather have my money back

Food normally nice and service is normally good! Tonight I travelled from the Wirral and ordered 4 meals for me and my family and only got two! When I rung them to explain we were items missing the lady was not very helpful and had an attitude. I won’t be eating from here again!

I Ordered four meals only received the meals no sides my meal was soggy and had four prawns in it - even though I replaced the meat dish for prawns! Never normally have a complaint but tonight was awful and when I rang to complain the staff member was very rude and abrupt. Upon leaving this review I also discovered this chippy is rated a 1 on food hygiene! Poor service and food tonight I wont be eating here again! Complete Waste of money

It’s lovely food but even if you only ask for a few onions you get about 3 whole onions in each dish. I don’t like them only the flavour in a dish but my husband does and we share all dishes so I end up having only sauce with a few bits of meat. Alot of the onions are put in the bin as he can only eat so many so a total waste. Listen to customer feedback please.

Used this chippy for over two years without a problem but never again . Last weekend I had prawns and ended up with food poisoning. Last night I thought give them a chance and ordered a mixed grill. The steak was very fatty and when I started eating it I thought it didn’t taste right so I didn’t eat it all. Within a couple of hours I felt sick and again today I’m poorly! Never again . Food poisoning twice in a week NOT GOOD !

Had fish chips and curry the chips were not bad but they said the fish was cod when I ordered it, no way was it cod or haddock and the batter was that thick it was gooie by the fish. Won't be ordering from there again.

Use this place all the time 10/10 best chippy chips around outstanding food very prompt delivery and they do stamp cards on just eat after 5’th order they give £10 off they only messed up once tonight they forgot to give the driver my chicken balls phoned up lady on phone was very apologetic and had my chicken balls to me with in under 10 minutes before I even finished my meal would highly recommend this place

I've tried it twice both times disgusting. I couldn't cut the batter that was on my fish with a steak knife

My favourite chippy does the best chicken curry around nice dark sauce it's great.

Had a meal from here last night and omg I've been up most of the night as feel sick as a dog and was sick early hours this morning plus some of my order was missing and had a row with a lady over the phone she basically called me a liar by the time I got the rest of my order the rest was cold .never again will I order from you .

Ordered at 7.30pm......its now 10.10pm and still no delivery! Tried ringing quite a few times but no answer! Wouldn't recommend this place at all!!

Ordered from this place, order turned up 3hrs late, then place on line showed closed. Now had to order elsewhere, told to take it up with the restaurant and no one answers the phone.. Lol.

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered food not only delivered to wrong address, but assistant there blamed the driver ( not his fault!!) taking no fault for messing up the address. When speaking to a manager they couldn't seem less bothered about the issue. And happily argued on the phone and lied to me for 7 mins saying the driver had just left the restaurant when he rang 20 mins earlier saying he was at the address and received no answer! Appalling customer service. BE WARY ORDERING FROM HERE. We ain't ordering there again!!!!! ONLY ADDED A STAR AS WOULDNT LET ME POST WITHOUT IT. DISGUSTING

I'm not sure what they do to their chips but they are grim, like cardboard and taste like they were cooked yesterday! The chinese I would give a 3.5 for.

Dont bother ordering from here its shocking how bad it is......cold and items missing when i rang about the missing items they didnt care and was in no rush to replace them.

Good choice of Chinese and fish and chips. Delivery is a little lacking as three times consecutively they have forgotten to bring chips when ordered.

Good quality food. Great salt & pepper chips. Fish lovely.

Only had from the fish and chips menu so can't comment on the Chinese. The food can be hit and miss, if you get fresh chips then they're decent chippy chips, if they've been waiting a while then they can be a bit tough. The curry sauce tastes good but has the same issue as the chips, sometimes it's clearly been waiting too long and almost solidifies.

Delivery was quicker than expected, thumbs up for that. Ordered a family meal for 4 people but some items missing, they NEVER returned with the missing meal when they promised that they would over the phone. HAD TO SHARE 3 MEALS BETWEEN 4 PEOPLE. One of the meals was FISH, omg is was s%#t wrapped in batter. I should have learnt my lesson from a previous experience . Never ever again. In the end shared 2 meals between 4. I should have googled The Venue Fish Bar before ordering.. found out they had previously been fined £1000 by the environmental health.

I wish I could give it Zero stars! Hopefully the owners are reading this , Please please PLEASE hire a food taster, your fish is truly shocking. The batter is thicker than the fish, you may think I’m exaggerating but I serious. Do you keep dipping the fish over and over after every fry to build up the layers of batter? Do you have the batter SO thick that your customers think they are getting value for money? 2 bites and I binned the lot, which I now regret as I should have photographed it first and posted the image and why so much salt? Did you drop the salt in the batter mix? There are many many YouTube videos on how to make delicious battered fish

Honestly if I could give it 0 stars I would! Our chips looked like they have been in the fryer for a week. The salt and pepper ribs had a stench of fish all over them, this is just unacceptable when I have a fish allergy!! And my partner said the prawn crackers was stale! We are now both left still hungry and having to cook something as all that food is unedible! Money wasted.

Delivery was 2 hours late after phoning twice to complain and ask where my order is!! Food finally arrived and it was freezing! Never use them again

I ordered from here the other night. Food was an hour and a half late, cold, greasy, missing items and disgusting. Ended up putting it the bin and going hungry. Would not recommend and will never use again.

Delivery was nearly an hour late and when I unpacked it there were missing items. Food took so long to get here I couldn't be bothered to call and complain. The food I did get was very poor quality just thrown together. I had one bite and threw it in the bin. Waste of money and food. Avoid this place Just put the oven on. Trust me your own food will taste better

Shame there is no zero star, one star is too much for you!!! We ordered online 12:30 and we been told our meal deliver to us 18:00, we all sit and waiting for our order but no show. Phone been engaged and web-chat very poor to respond. If you can’t give service, why you open and quickly take money from public. Don’t waste your money!!!

This place is rank, in an hurry the other day so got a bag of chips, should have known better old chips warmed up in the back in old disgusting fat🤪 binned them.

First time using this take out as a change from our usual wish we had stayed with our usual take out. Food was late, cold, soggy, tasteless and covered on grease. Picked at the most edible bits and rest went in the bin

Food was late, disgusting and tasted off. Pork dumplings especially. Me and my partner did not eat it after tasting it was vile. Phoned them they didn’t offer to replace it and said we will give you 20% discount next time. Absolutely shocking.

Disgusting!! Salt & pepper chips with no flavour, soggy and cold. Cheese & Onion Fry-it dripping in oil and all soggy. Beansprouts were disgusting and the outside of tub was just covered in all the liquid and grease all over. Will never eat from here again.

Clean and friendly service food quality excellent what more could ask for never had stale or burnt foods or fish with loads of oil inside all these put me off and I would not recommend I food service to anybody were the fish and other products sold the fish bar are good...was good then but lately the fish batter was far too hard this put me off for good won't get it from here AGAIN

Just had a delivery of chicken fied rice - there was literally 10 tiny shreds of dried out chicken in the whole dish and totally lacked flavour - very disappointed!

A chippy I've used over the years, and especially for their sweet and sour. Never been the best, that's Golden Flower in Overpool! On this occasion there was hardly any sauce at all, plus what sauce there was tasted so weak, really no sourness, acidicness or taste AT All. I called and asked for a refund, although they said that they tasted it and tasted OK, it really didn't. Its the worst takeaway meal of any sort I've ever had, hands down. Im writing this because I tried to discuss the meal with them, and tried to engage with the a smile and some compliments with regards the chips but I basically got ignored and then just handed my refund without a sorry about that or anything . Dissapointing. I don't understand why people do things without any passion for getting it right and providing a good service to a high standard.

I will say the food turned up early, however, £15.40 for 3 fish, large chips (greasy cut up potato formed like objects) and a pot of curry (i think thats what it was anyway). The first and last time i will ever eat from this place. I actually feel like i need to wash my insides out and i will need to pray to the lord almighty that when i go the toilet next that my insides do not fall out in the process. Absolutely disgusting NEVER AGAIN

Just walked in for a nice fish & chip lunch. Chips were ok. Fish was absolutely appalling. Sign on the wall said “fresh cod”, so I ordered one of those. If that’s fresh cod, I’m the Pope. One bite, spat it back into the paper and threw it away. I’m not the fittest guy in the world and I eat quite a lot of fast food. Easily the worst fish & chips I’ve ever had.

Long time customer but not any more £30 order and at least 3 quarters has just gone in the bin chips recooked more than once hot dog buns like there toasted chicken wings burned and insult to injury tipped the driver £5 first time ever calling to say how dissatisfied I was and not even a sorry or we will replace it 😡😡 now the old man is not in charge this place has gone to s@;t really gutted

Don't usually complain about fast food. But just got home with large chips and 2xpots of curry. Opened the chips to find the smallest "large" portion I've ever seen! They were also cold and tasted like they'd been sat there for about an hour. When I rang to let them know, just got a half hearted "sorry" no offer of replacement....no Nothing!!!! Time to give Chens a try.........

We have at least one takeaway a week from the Venue and always enjoy the food. It’s always delivered well within the time specified.

No usual for me to complain about our usually amazing takeaway but we ordered our usual chicken fried rice, chow me in, chips and a few sides. The chicken fried rice didn't have much flavour, chips were pale and cold and the chow me in had noodles which were under Cooke. Despite calling up and having the items replaced, they still came back exactly the same.

This review is solely based on their various Thai green currys as its the only dish I've purchased here. It was delicious...whether its chicken, beef, special or whatever, they're all delicious. Furthermore, I telephoned my order and was told it would be ready in five minutes, I arrived five minutes later and it was there waiting for me. Awesome! I'll certainly visit again and may even venture onto more exciting dishes like Fish and Chips.

My brother-in-law would not have fish & chips from anywhere else in town if this place is open. Prices are about the same as everywhere else. Just good tasting food.
