The Velvet Coaster in Blackpool

A very large Wetherspoons with three floors along the seafront. Nice wood fires alight on the ground floor. The food was typical Wetherspoons, but well cooked and served piping hot, it was very reasonably priced, and service was quick. We went there two nights running as there weren't many more places open which appealed to us, but we were more than happy there. We would return if in Blackpool.

Went with the wife, for our tea and a few drinks. I used the Wetherspoons app to order, service was fast and food was great. The atmosphere was brilliant.

Never been to this one of the franchise but I was really happy and comfortable. Suffering from anxiety i felt a general good vibe. And the breakfast was lovely.

Brilliant pub. 3 floors. Balcony with sea views on 1st floor and sun deck on top floor. Great for watching sunsets over the sea. 2 wood burning fires on ground floor. Lift to all floors, so really accessible for everyone.

Really great atmosphere - very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent - well cooked & arrived quickly. Came for breakfast & impressed at quality & value so came back for dinner. Friendly staff who checked we were satisfied. Very impressed with this particular Wetherspoons - very well run. Recommend.

My first visit to the Velvet Coaster. I was very pleasantly surprised….the building has large open spaces with unique decor, and a nice friendly atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly too. Just had drinks there, but I am looking forward to revisiting in the summer to take advantage of the upper balcony.

If you like a Spoons you'll love this place. Best Spoons I've been to in my opinion Great setting on the seafront, modern fitout and super outdoor seating for sunny days I'm not sure why anyone would drink in a pub nearby tbf

Average Wetherspoons. Tables on a whole very dirty, food so so, service alright. Lovely view of the sunset though and some decent beers.

Probably the best place to go grab a bite and a drink in Blackpool. Always make a visit when I'm in town. Good food & drink options and a great atmosphere.

Food was ok service was let down Reported coffee machine was not working very well and not making drink we (3 people) wanted and lady came over and said we pressing wrong button. Hmm all 3 us pressing wrong button when we know we pressed right one she then shrugged shoulders walked away. We then went to other one and it had no milk in. So food was only good part palace was good and clean but service not so good.

Met a friend for breakfast. The food was tasty and piping hot. Service was quick and friendly. The bar was spotlessly clean.

Ordering by phone is confusing because of the page layout and too many similar names. Ended up ordering a no chicken Korean Chicken Bowl because of the way they are listed and the layout. Paid, realised the error and there is nothing I can do to change it. I order 3 main courses and a desert (brownie topped with ice-cream). The waiter brought the mains and the desert all at the same time. Imagine seeing that ice-cream melting while eating the main. Food is not as good as last year. Good options like sea bass sre gone and all options are between £9 and £13.

Never got chance to taste the food ordered it then went to pay with Scottish £20 note they refused to except it asked why, told Scottish money was fake they even had a machine right beside till just refused to use it so if this is how they treat Scottish people why would we go back.our money is legal tender but not to some English establishments they should hang there heads in shame so much for being part of a united kingdom

Great time had after stopping here over new year.

You wouldn't think a national institution like Wetherspoons could ruin a jacket potato would you.... Too say that it looked like it has spent several days in lava would be an understatement, as my teeth will testify. Ten quid. Would not repeat the experience.

Ordered food on app. Money taken from bank but order disappeared. Re ordered at bar. Food good, once arrived.

Friendly polite and helpful staff

We didn't order food. we just went in for a drink or two. Nice place to drink or eat, plenty of seating & more in the high season. Can be a little busy, so you may have to wait for seating if you're with family. But you should be able to find a table. Food portions are decent from what we saw & service was reasonably quick.

Without question the nicest of the three Wetherspoons in Blackpool, the Velvet Coaster is a delightful night out. The food is good, the service we had was exemplary and the atmosphere from the roof terrace is something special indeed. Eating dinner under the silhouette of the Pleasure Beach on one side, the Tower on the other and the Sandcastle across the way. It's very Blackpool. I would recommend this over Albert and the Rakes, without a shadow of a doubt.

Visited for breakfast. Full English with a drink. Couldn't fault for the price. Tables were clean.

Nothing to complain about, very handy for the pleasure beach and south pier. Plenty of room so lots of tables, only the ground floor was open when we were there but still plenty of room. Usual quick service and no complaints about the food.

The pub itself is great, cheap beer right on Blackpool prom. The food is typical wetherspoons grub, I ordered a burger and have honestly had better from a road side van. My own fault, I should know better.

We live in North Wales and always make a visit here after we've been to the pleasure beach. This is not your average Wethers, this is a beautiful example of what all Wetherspoons could be like. Unfortunately our local one, despite being an old theatre, is nothing like this! This pub is spread across three floors with a glass lift running up the middle. It has a full length outdoor terrace on the first floor and a massive roof terrace on the second floor. Staff and service have always been excellent, as was the food and drinks. Highly recommend this Wetherspoons.

Very busy with few tables available. Upstairs closed. Very long wait for food. If we hadn't paid in advance we would have left.

Both food and drinks here are very good and reasonably priced. Amazing building, spacious, and interesting. The only downside is that steak no longer seems to be on the menu. Shame, as it's usually a favourite with us. Still, I would recommend it.

Only downstairs opened, not a single table available, even though we were in a wheelchair staff refused to help us get a table, ended up leaving without buying anything

Fantastic Wetherspoons, the jewel of the Blackpool coast, ate both evening and returned for breakfast, roof terrace Superb, highly recommend!!!! First class, staff and facilities amazing! Frequent this Spoons whenever I visit Blackpool it's a great venue and always never fails to please!

Really liked the atmosphere in this Wetherspoons. Fab outside seating on the decks. Glass lift. Sofas in the ladies. Fires on the ground floor, with seating around them.

Decent meal and beer at good price.

Bog standard spoons, worth what you pay for it but it's hardly fine dining. That said, the beer is always well treated and a good range.

Food has got worse and worse, less choice, most items are full of chilli, which some are allergic to

Amazing pizzas and great service. Have it a 3 for atmosphere because some of the restaurant was very badly lit in one area, so dark you couldn't eat at those tables. But the rest of it was lovely.

We enjoy it here Would have given a 5 if it was nit for the blonde server, we ordered via the app and she got the mixers the wrong way round then tried to say she didn't until she got a manager to taste the drinks. That being said we like it here as majority of Time everybody friendly

Normal witherspoon for drinks. We didn't eat but we saw others and it looked good. Definitely the quieter of the 2 spoons in Blackpool but that suited us

Love this pub having a roof terrace for the summer and lovely log fires in the winter. Our visit yesterday was somewhat tainted by the chef. Ordered a double burger, think it's called an Empire State. After a previous visit I new the maple bacon came out cold so asked for it to be heated. It came out cold so asked the young man who served me if he could take the bacon and pop it in the microwave to heat as I do not like it cold. After asking the chef if it was possible to heag it He took it back to thd kitchen and for the 2nd time the chef refused to heat it up, I had it done last time. The barman saved the day by taking the bacon on a separate plate and heated it, problem was with all the waiting my burger was now only cool. Please ask your chef to accept a customer request when in is reasonable or not make the meal at all. Pic is of a sunset through the middle floor window.

Can't comment on food as we didn't eat . It's a wetherspoons pub chain cheap and cheerful. If you go I would download app you get served quicker. Friendly staff can't do enough for you.

Staff rudeand unhelpful, not got a lot that was on the menu. Normally can't fault a westherspoons but wouldn't return to this one.

Beautifully decorated venue and nice atmosphere.

This is the best Wetherspoons by far that we have had the pleasure to visit. Very big with an upstairs and fantastic spacious and clean, Ladies cloakroom even with a lounger if needed. The decor was impressive and very upbeat. Great atmosphere and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Being disabled I also had the pleasure of the lift up to the 1st floor.The fire pit was a delight to see.This is a must see and experience if staying in Blackpool.If only they were all furnished out like this one. What a pleasure.

Avoid the cocktail pitchers!!! Very little alcohol and pitcher almost full of ice!

Luke warm chips and onion rings, burger just ok. Not the best JDW for food but the pub was okay and staff very pleasant.

Came yesterday (3rd November) around 4pm our family day out the was about 13 of us 11 of us were not from Blackpool although the place was great the food wasn't it was either luck warm or not fit to be called a meal, I been in many Weatherspoons but this is the first time that I have been disappointed.

Fantastic food, cooked fresh and inexpensive. Great service from staff members, and a good overall atmosphere. There isn't much more you can ask for. Probably have the nicest amenities in any pub in Blackpool. lol

Very busy but very quick service

Sorry - never again. Went 5pm on a Tuesday of half term. Place was rammed (to be expected) but only took 10 mins to get table. Been several times over the years and it's always been great but I'm sorry we are done. 2 items not available - lasagne and fish and chips (not available in Blackpool !! ) so we settled for a double beef burger. And ordered other items - total bill £50. Shocking isn't the word. Literally smaller than a child's portion. One bite of the burger was enough. It genuinely tasted 'rotten' - inedible. Discussed with a passing waitress who just said 'oh' when I explained that there is something wrong with this it's off - she just said 'well do you want another?' I said 'of course not' and she grabbed the plate and walked away. Shocking service by the stretched waiting staff. Shocking availability of food. Shocking quality of food. Shocking portions. So we will vote with our feet - honestly feel so let down. This place is gold mine and must make an abolout fortune. But won't get another penny from us. Literally disgusting. The other food items we ordered were edible - but only just!!

Had a few days in blackpool went to this pub had chicken curry it was vile was like water ended up with severe diarea and sickness all night ruined my last day of holiday and complete waste if £35.00 Karen

Paid over £10 for a Mediterranean salad and got less than a side salad! Portion size erratic. Very disappointed for the price.
