The Vault Bar in Southwark

The food is excellent value for money. Freshly cooked to order too. The view is outstanding and not well known. The drinks are reasonably priced for central London. Delightful outside area to sit and admire the world going by.

Visited here after our dinner and it’s a cute little bar. Good view from under tower bridge if you are able to get a window seat! Didn’t try the food here but it looks good - typical English stuff like fish and chips :) The drinks were a reasonable price and staff friendly.

The food took 2 hours to come, I order a chicken sandwich and taste kind of bad for a 2 hour wait my whole group had to go to the H.M.S Belfast right after almost thought we were going to miss it!

This spot was alright, except service. I was there yesterday 24/06/24 and a man with long hair had an attitude and was rude towards me. He also ignored me several times, rolling his eyes to the top. Take actions, Thank you.

Refused us service because my niece was 12 yrs old. Must be old enough to drink. Not a family place. Butler's Wharf Pier is right next door and 5 star food and service.

This is a great little hideaway under Tower Bridge. So convenient and AWAY from the crowds! Give a unique view under Tower Bridge of the Thames. Service is good. The seating is a little cramped and you really need a window seat to appreciate the view. Good selection of ales. Despite being in a vault the loos are top class!! Good little bar to remember.

Our favorite bar in London. We came here every night of our trip. The views can’t be matched. The staff was so kind. When we were inside the music was great. They made great drinks. The price was reasonable relative to the area and cheaper than several other places we tried during our trip. Absolutely loved this place.

We popped in here on our last day in London, after crossing Tower Bridge and all its stairs. We were between the lunch and dinner rush, so the kitchen was closed for a bit, but we didn't mind the wait. The outdoor seating area looked inviting, but we preferred the a/c indoors as it was in the 90s (Fahrenheit) that day. We had a relaxing lunch of fish & chips, and were able to sit by the windows with great views of the Tower.

stumbled across this place one lunchtime on the south side of the Thames at the base of Tower Bridge whilst on our way to see HMS Belfast - great atmosphere in the bar and a fantastic beer garden with stunning views of Tower Bridge. The chap working behind the bar was a delight - friendly, polite and very welcoming. We were hoping to try some food from the menu but unfortunately the chef was off that day - we will definitely pay a return visit on our next trip to London from our home in Somerset - and hopefully be able to sample the food as well as enjoying this wonderful place, friendly staff and amazing ambience.

We stumbled on this small establishment as we walked around the tower bridge it is situated under one end of the bridge. We ordered and had a drink whilst the food arrived and we was not disappointed at all al three meals were spot on my wife and daughter both had fish and chips and the batter was super and crisp I opted for the veggie burger which again was excellent , this isn’t a posh restaurant but was more than acceptable with nice attentive staff, servicing nice food at a very reasonable cost . Un empleado / guía en el Tower Bridge recomienda este lugar cuando pedimos comida de pub en la zona. Es un lugar pequeño debajo del puente. Bonita vista. Nada lujoso, pero muy informalmente cómodo. Solo había alrededor de 4 a 6 mesas y un área de bar. Mi marido consiguió el pescado con patatas fritas y cera muy contento. Tengo la salchicha y el puré. Se encera delicioso! Mi nieto de 6 años y yo estábamos buscando algo de comer a los 20. 00 horas el lunes por la noche cuando pasamos por el pub Vaults en el camino de regreso a nuestro hotel inicialmente. Inicialmente descarté las Bóvedas, ya que parecía sombrío tanto por dentro como por fuera, situado debajo del puente de la Torre, pero luego me llamó la atención "Nugget de pollo y papas fritas", la comida favorita de mi nieto.

La cena era abbastanza buona, servizio passabile, personale poco ospitale ma tutto sommato la cena era molto buona. La terrazza all'esterno è fantastica.

When we first walked by this place, we decided not to stop in (it seemed small and more bar like). After walking a bit to find a place to eat we stopped here. I wish we had stopped at first, the food took some time to come but was good and a great value. The waitstaff was nice and attentive.

Great location great views but service was appalling. We told the waitress that we were here for drinks only, her eyes rolled in her head which prompted my wife to ask if everything was ok.

Came in for a drink after a long day walking around London. We were told off when we tried to sit in the only area that gave a view of the river - main selling point of the place. Of course this was only after we had bought our drinks so couldn’t just leave. Apparently the area was reserved, but the signs were only put up after the waitress had rudely removed us from the area quite irately.

El descubrimiento accidental de este bar resultó ser uno de los puntos destacados de nuestro día durante nuestra visita a Londres. Un bar, o cualquier otro lugar, no solo tiene que tener buena comida y bebidas, sino que necesita personal maravilloso. Aquí en The Vault Bar, el lugar lo tiene todo. Gracias a dos personas maravillosas, Yuliia y Eugen, mi sobrina y yo nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. Este fue un viaje para mi sobrina que iba a cumplir veintiún años en unos pocos días, y tanto Eugen como Yuliia hicieron que esto fuera un poco más especial.

Llamó a un par de pintas para sentarse y ver pasar el mundo bajo el sol. sentado fuera y relajado, bebidas decentes, no demasiado caras, vale la pena una visita si estás en la zona.

Good fish and chips. View is under the Tower Bridge looking towards the Tower of London. We got a fantastic table at the window. You can also sit on an outside patio.

We had just spent the day being a tourist and needed to sit down and get a bite to eat. Situated underneath Tower Bridge, the view is fabulous looking over Tower of London. Food is basic, we had the calamari, chips and ciabatta all were tasty. When we went they only took cash which was fine. It’s worth popping in just for the view.

In Short. This place is a tourist trap, they don't accept card payments less than £10 and the drink selection is minimal.

I'd planned to eat at Borough Market but it was rammed, as was every eating joint between there and Tower Bridge. So I was glad to stumble on this gloomy little place under the Tower Bridge arches, which had plenty of space. Not much beer choice, but they had chilled bottles of Becks, so that slaked my thirst, having walked from Battersea. I had the bangers and mash, which looked a bit grim--a bowl with a mound of mash in a moat of gravy--but went down very well. The sausages were decent and the mash smooth. Bar staff were a bit loud, yelling to each other in their own language, but they were efficient. Though the Vault seems like a pub bar to me, with food to match, you pay by bill when you leave, as in a restaurant. To sum up: decent grub and welcome refuge from the throng around the bridge.

Great location under the bridge, views are fantastic. Beer selection is fairly good with Meantime, Estrella and Heineken, no drought. The place always seems to smell of old chip fat. Tried to pay by contactless, but there is a £10 limit : archaic. In London! The nearby Anchor Tap accepts Apple Watch payments for a pint, which are much cheaper as well. I will not bother making another visit.

We popped in on our way to the theatre and didn't fancy going to the more expensive places nearby. Happened upon The Vault - it is hidden so unless you know about it or are walking past you wouldn't know its there. It is and so were we luckily. It's small but nice. The soup was very good and served hot (as it should be). The sharing meat platter was also good but not exceptional. Saw the fish and chips others had and it looked very good. So too did the fish cakes. When we return to that particular theatre we will definitely have lunch back here. Worth a visit if in the area of the south end of Tower Bridge.

Wir waren schon oft in London, aber diesmal sind wir echt in eine Touristenfalle geraten. Haben frohen Mutes Fish &Chips; bestellt (zum stolzen Preis) und haben eine Mini Portion bekommen mit einer lausigen Qualität ( mehr Panade als Fisch) und der Fisch war sehr trocken.

Having walked past the Vault for a long time, an old friend of mine said let's go in. It is part of Tower Bridge - an arch underneath the south side. The Vault is small inside but has seating outside. The service is not brilliant and it is very expensive even for London.

El pescado era más maltratada y grasienta, guisantes eran duras y frías, las patatas fritas eran la mejor parte de la comida. El pescado en sí era gruesa que hacía tolerable. Usted debe pedir dentro y luego te dan un número. Elegimos sentarnos afuera, que era una fantástica vista del río Támesis. El costo fue de casi 47 libras, que es muy caro para una comida mediocre. Si tuviera que hacerlo de nuevo, yo elegiría otro lugar. Tres estrellas es generoso pero es por su ubicación y comodidad.

Tras una larga mañana de visitar el castillo y el puente teníamos hambre y decidimos parar en el Vault para cenar temprano. Pedí la ensalada césar con pollo a 10 libras. 95. Me quedé muy decepcionado con lo que he recibido. La ensalada era muy, muy pequeña y con un poco (unos 5 1 / 2 pulgadas x 1 / 2 "piezas) de pollo, que era viejo y más preparado, duro y era más como sacudidas. Mi esposa había pedido el tomate y mozzarella, un plato plato servido frio normalmente pero salieron a cálidos. No hace falta decir pero no comer. El establecimiento también añadió un cargo por servicio, por lo que todavía estoy tratando de averiguar como nuestro servicio fue sub-estándar. No me importa pagar extra por buena comida tipo turista, pero este era pésimo.

We dropped in after a tour of the Tower of London and walking across Tower Bridge. The staff were very friendly and the meals were simple but very satisfying. And the view was spectacular as we sat next to the Thames.

Cuando llegamos alrededor de las 3. 30:00 había muy pocas personas en el lugar y que nadie en las mesas. Sin embargo, mi esposa tenía que ir al bar y pedir una camarera para tomar nuestro pedido. Tras una importante esperar la comida - que era adecuado - llegamos pero el servicio era mediocre, rayando la brusca. Cuando decidimos dejar las dos chicas detrás del bar expresa ignorado nuestra señalización para llevar la cuenta y que por lo tanto rose y fuimos al bar a pagar. Me ignoró de nuevo, ya que varios clientes que habían seguido me sirvieron. Entonces mi esposa atrajeron la atención de la camarera y pedimos la factura, que fue entregado de manera hosca. En un momento dado incluso considerado ir a la puerta sin pagar para animar a ellos! Esta fue una experiencia que me prometieron no pase de nuevo y me ofrecen como una advertencia para el futuro - los clientes. Siempre intento buscar el lado positivo, como lo testifican los otros comentarios, pero este fue uno de los que no podía dejar pasar la hostilidad y para unremarked falta de servicio que nos brindaron. Para rematar, sufrimos, y pagado, un 12. 5% de cargo por servicio que no me di cuenta hasta que llegamos a casa. Hablar de añadir el insulto a la injuria. This bar is built into the structure of Tower Bridge itself. Its not huge but its big enough to attract all human kind. Pub grub is good and not pricey. Pop in for a pint and stay for two!
