Great pub, very friendly and hospitable. Great selection of very local beers, barman explained that the majority are brewed right behind the pub at the brewery and when I asked to try a porter he gave me a good drop to take away for the train. Highly recommend a visit here, will definitely be back

Tuesday 28th June 2022 I visited Nottinghams BEST REAL ALE PUB a plethora of hand pumped ales and some ciders It's like a mini beer festival Mainstay brewer is castle rock Lovely atmosphere great helpful staff and an intelligent not local twits of a pub following there us an outdoor drinking area at the pubs front Well done all Saturday 21st December 2024 This pub next to Nottingham railway station has a multitude of hand pumped castle rock ales on because it's next to Castle Rock brewery. This friendly, cosy, well run real ale pub has to be an essential visit for all real ale drinkers when drinking in Nottingham

Excellent location just a short walk from Nottingham station. Great choice of real ales available and fast friendly service despite it being a busy matchday. Definitely recommend and will be making a return visit next time I'm in the area

Fantastic pub: the jewel in the crown of Castle Rock. I usually go there in march days, and despite the relatively-small bar, they have a super efficient system and great staff, making wait times minimal even when it's busy. Decent outside area, and a good music venue attached.

Been here a few times, normally for private beer festivals, but it's a traditional pub serving beers from their own brewery and they always look after us very well. Haven't eaten here, so can't comment on food.

Great pub I come here nearly every Sunday. Can’t fault the place great beer, fantastic chip cob and very nice staff! Best ever Chilli loaded chips!!

First time in here, and what a pleasant surprise 😊 loads of guest beers and helpful staff showed me how to download and use their app for cheaper beers. Sat outside on a bench, warm evening and other clientele were good company. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and spoilt for choice with beers. No food sampled, so I can't critique.

A good castle rock brewery pub. Hadn't been here for a long while but still the beer is as good as it always was.

Just had Sunday lunch and was amazing. Sunday dinner burger and a roast beef Yorkshire wrap. The roast beef was to die😋for and an absolute bargain. Will be back😊😊

Our new favourite city centre pub. You can't beat a pint of Harvest Pale anyway...and it's brewed next door! Besides the obvious Castle Rock ales, there are a plethora of beers and a selection of ciders from other independents too. We'd hoped to grab a chip butty, but hot food was off on the day we visited - hardly a deal-breaker as there were filled cobs on offer and we just simply compensated ourselves with more beer! Bar staff were lovely too. Will be back at the weekend.

Didn't eat, but the short menu at fair prices looked like it would do the job. Met an old friend in here as it's near the railway station, and we didn't move on! Music event in the garden didn't interrupt anything, and the great selection of well-kept ales kept us there

Good traditional pub, lots of beer choice, no hot food, but they do have a selection of cobs. Later in the evening they don't do coffee is an odd thing I found. They have live music in the bar sometimes as well. It's a great place to enjoy a quiet pint, it's a bit more 'how pubs used to be" and if that's what you're in the mood for then you can't go far wrong.

Great beer, friendly staff. Because this is the brewery tap house for Castle Rock Brewery, you won't get better than here for sampling some local real Ales. Very close to the train station if you have limited time for a quick drink in Nottingham!

Castle rock tap house. Great beer and loads of choice and guest beers. The food is good if the kitchen is open, but that is unpredictable these days.

Really liked this pub, traditional feel with lots of great beers, enjoyed the cheese toastie and chips a lot too, it was delicious and reasonably priced!

Great range of beers, poured well and with a smile, and a half hearted American "enjoy". Range larger than castle rock. And proper beers not that awful lager stuff. Does food and proper bar snacks such as sausage rolls etc but didn't partake. Good price per pint

An ideal pub, even when I visited early in the day. The barman took me through their excellent range of beers. The snack of toasted cheese with their own chutney was terrific.

Top taphouse pub; the brewery is connected to the building itself. There's a broad selection of real ales, again, some brewed next door. I visited on this occasion for a tour of the brewery with an opportunity to pull, and drink, a pint of their beer.

The pub seems to be a pub where time has stopped. The interior resembles premises from the last millennium. The plus points of this place include the young people serving at the bar. They are really keen on the job. Other plus points are selection of beers, ales and others. And of course location. It's a short distance walk from train station.

Great tap for the castle rock brewery. There are also some guest ales and real cyders as well as a fridge with craft beer cans from all over. Friendly staff, ale in great condition (as expected for a tap) do food also reasonable price for Notts.

Brilliant find. Traditional pub feeling and really friendly. Great, knowledgeable staff who are always up for a chat and make you feel very welcome. The food is no nonsense good pub grub that’s always tasty - the chips are addictive.

Staff are always friendly and lovely to chat to. Service is quick and prices are reasonable, with a great range of pints available. Food is lovely - my partner and I had a great time eating from the special Burn's night menu. The comedy night we went to (my first experience of one) was also fantastic and inspired us to visit more in the future. It is clear the management care about curating fun and varied events for their customers. The sense of community within the pub, the music, the decor, and the location (near the train station) makes the atmosphere pleasant and encourages you to become a regular.

Lovely atmosphere and a good range of ales for those that love a decent pint..I didn't eat bit a lot were so I really recommend this place if you fancy a pub pub

One of the world's best pubs. What more could you want in an establishment? Quality staff. Always knowledgeable and friendly, and willing to let you have a taster. Quality beer, Sherwood reserve especially is a favourite of mine as well as DDH Citra India Pale Ale Beer Hazy. The vibe is of course exclusively and always purely immaculate. I'd happily sit there for all my days and just be at peace in the relaxing environment.

Staff were great and very accommodating, great selection of beers and chill vibe. Would recommend the our house paired with the chorizo crisps!

Didn't eat here, great meeting place for the Nottingham Forest football match, 10 - 20min walk to football ground, very busy on match days, prices ain't to bad, sit inside or outside.

First time - went to a gig - staff were good, beer was good, wine was meh! Venue lived up to it's name old cold store 🥶 sound was okay, atmosphere not the best but artists were excellent. Won't be rushing back, pick up other dates on artist tours.

Superb Castle Rock Brewery pub in Nottingham City. 5' minutes walk from main railway station. As an 'away' football fan, have only visited when my team are playing against Forest at The City Ground. Always welcomed by home fans; no rivalry or aggression. Absolutely stunning, superb selection of both Castle Rock & guest beers. + lagers & a good whisky selection! Only sampled food on football matchdays, but if this is an example of normal fayre, then can highly recommend it. Nothing fancy or ponsy! Just basic meals, toasties, chip butties, sausage butties, beef or veggie chilly for example. Staff extremely busy on matchdays so PLEASE be patient with them! They all do a fantastic job. Castle Rock Brewery attached to pub & Brewery tours can be booked. A fantastic pub

Great as ever. My favourite Nottingham pub. Harvest Pale was its usual excellence and the service was quick. Only thing is that I really miss the old cobs they used to do, huge thick slices of cheese with strong onion. The cobs they sell now are very average!

An interesting place, according to the local PUB sign. We were here twice, wanted to try some local beers. We were given a taster of them which made our choice easier. Nice place frequented by locals but there was a place to sit. There is a brewery behind the restaurant. You will see part of it when you continue down the corridor behind the toilets. We also tasted the local raw burger and dried crackers. Interestingly. We were also pleased with the sign promoting "our" Czech brewery Staropramen, whose beer is quite available in England.

Expensive beer but well kept and good choice.

Dog friendly so that give it a better atmosphere. Some of the staff are nice but you do get the feeling that it your not a regular you know about it.

1930's pub which is interesting rather than charming...the tap room for Castle Rock brewery next door - so the cask ale and selection offered is wonderful. Friendly staff. Diagonally opposite Nottingham station and on local bus routes!

Excellent Castle Rock boozer. Great ale, vegan options, excellent staff. Choice of pub grub is simple and well priced. Good curry nights. Quirky regular events in the function room.

Went for a pint after work and left 6 pints later. Was with work colleagues but general atmosphere was good. Music not too loud. Had a nice local pub atmosphere.

Visited Saturday 15th July 2023 late afternoon. Been meaning to visit for a while, just never got around to it. Location is ideal if you're around the train station as it's literally across the road. Castle Rocks tap house so obviously has a full range of CR beers; however, as with all CR pubs there's also a great range of guest cask and keg beers alongside a fridge full of craft beer cans and bottles, obviously there's also lager, wine, spirits, soft drinks etc. We ended up eating the loaded fries while we were there, a portion of buffalo and a portion of hamburger, both of which were delicious and reasonable value. Staff were friendly and approachable, the place had a nice atmosphere. The pub itself is a proper old school pub, hard floors throughout and traditional decor with seating out front and a large yard out back. Definitely worth a visit.
