Nice quiet pub. Very good food at very reasonable prices. Very friendly bar staff. Cannot find any faults. Will definitely return.

I ordered rump steak, but it wasn't cooked fresh, must have been a leftover from yesterday. It was very, very, very dry and hard to cut even with a steak knife. It was not tender and succulent and was absent of any meat juices. The steak was the colour of cold beef inside the burnt charcoal outside and indeed it was cold. I feel annoyed and disheartened that they felt they could palm me off with yesterdays's leftovers. Won't be going there again ever.

Wend with the lads after hearing about this pub from a friend really impressed with it hard to find a cracking pub these days. Fair prices and great service from the bar staff and was really comfy to sit down and have a drink with friends we will be definitely be returning.

Went to the vale with some friends for drinks and food! The food was amazing I had the cowboy burger which was very reasonably priced and the pub had a good selection of drinks! I found the pub to have a warm friendly family feeling to it! Bar staff were excellent also! Will defo be returning

Visited the pub last minute for some lunch with my sister, lovely busy environment. Nice to see the staff know so many locals! Food was really nice, staff were friendly and helpful. Already planning our visit.

We will not be coming back we booked a table the night before. when we got there we told the bar staff we booked a table number 8 but yet again there was people setting at the table this happen on the Friday 15th as well as to day Saturday 16th the bar staff was not helpful at all we noticed the Reserved sign was on the bar, and no one put it on the table we wanted. why ask us when we phone what table Would you like? Bar staff need training on customer service and how to smile I found them very ignorant and very Unhelpful.

Always enjoy a visit to the Vale, service is good and staff are lovely. One complaint, it is FREEZING!, please put the heating on, its not nice having to sit in a pub with your coat on!

Visited with a group of friends,for a catch up,with some food and drinks,lovely local pub,friendly staff,clean and tidy surroundings,didn't expect to stay along as we did ,but glad we did, as we all enjoyed a great night with karaoke with a super atmosphere, will definitely be returning.

Such a shame! This local used to be a nice place to visit, but bar staff so rude so we left before ordering food. We went to the Unicorn Pub nearby instead, glad we did - lovely staff and food! Won’t be returning!

We have been going to the Vale for many years as we live locally , but unfortunately l don’t think we will be going again in the near future, the person who served us at the bar was quite rude and abrupt , we were planning to have a meal but decided to finish our drinks and leave , a shame because it used to be so nice and welcoming.

Had a ball visited for Christmas Eve and it was £5 entry and with that we got a free drink of our choice and there was also a Christmas disco, staff worked so hard and it made for a great evening/night! Well done to all staff and especially Matt, Ash and Natalie for organising it

I only pop in for a couple of drinks. But I end up having a burger, because it was burger and beer night. Burger was really nice and the service was excellent. They make you feel very welcome here.

I have visited the Vale for food and drinks quite a few times since the new management took over. The atmosphere has lifted and I’ve heard there are quite a few entertaining treats in the pipeline. Thanks to Adam in the kitchen for great food...

Called in here for some food and a beer I must say how impressed I was with the staff and food.....the chef l think his name was Adam asked me how I wanted my steak and when it arrived was perfectly cooked my wife's was...

Don’t bother! You will be ignored for 20 minutes then told they stopped serving food 2 minutes ago. Try out the local hungry horse (unicorn pub) instead

Honed late today was told could have a table within half hour. On arrival greeted with a warm welcome. Fantastic service and beautiful food . The gentleman serving us could not have been more helpful. Would reccomend this pub just for the way the staff...

visited this pub with a group of freinds only to find it empty, but with most tables reserved, stayed for two and a half hours and watched customers put off by the reserved tables, that were still empty,. what a stupid way to run a...

Waste of money. Small fish 15 or so chips and a teaspoon of mushy peas. I kid you not . I don't review places unless I have reason to . Very very poor on the portion size

Visited on Fathers Day , have been before with same results. Nice decor, good drinks choice, lovely staff, great food? Why a score of one. Woeful lack of staff. One person serving bar and lounge, ordering food, clearing tables and remaining friendly,whilst management nowhere to be seen. Ordered eight meals for our party , six came. Waited 10 minutes and enquired about delay.After another 10 minutes the other two meals arrived, everyone else had finished. I went to the kitchen to ask what the problem was , the chef said lack of staff!Even the staff realise the problem. Big queues at bar, glasses stacked up, incorrect bookings, total chaos.What a shame the whole experience is let down by poor management not employing enough staff to maximise on profits . Get a grip otherwise people will not give you repeat business.

Have been going to the vale for sometime now and always enjoy the food. Good menu and reasonable price.

We visited the Vale this afternoon as we'd heard it has been refurbished and, looking at the website, the Sunday Lunch for £6.50 sounded good value. The refurb has refreshed the place well and the bar staff were friendly and welcoming. Some time after ordering we were advised that they has run out of beef and offered an alternative which we accepted. However, the downside was a 90 minute wait for our meals. Having asked why the wait we were told there was a backlog as the chef had been on an hour break and that our meals would be with us within 10 minutes!! After 15 minutes we decided to ask for a refund and were told our meals were now ready which we accepted. We were offered a full refund for the food as well Both starter and main course arrived at the same time, the starter being incomplete and overcooked. Our main course, was however, lovely and piping hot!! The lady at the bar was very apologetic; we felt sorry for her as she was having to serve the bar, serve the food, collect the empty glasses and clean the tables - in other words rushed off her feet. The bar was busy too with another person serving there. Another customer, with two small children, had arrived before us and told there would be no food until 4pm. In all a disappointing visit - this pub has a lot to offer the local area but lets itself down by not having sufficient people to run the place efficiently. Plenty of choice in terms of food - this is good to know, but if the place doesn;t have enough people to run, especially on a Sunday when it's likely to be busy, then their reputation is likely to suffer. Marstons/The Vale - get more staff in the kitchen and credit to the lady who served us who did all she could to rectify the situation.

Went here yesterday with a large group of friends for a pre booked Christmas meal. Table was booked for 12:30 and too be fair The Vale got that but right, but after that it all went wrong. Horrendous service, luke warm food that eventually arrived after what seemed hours. Complaint placed by my group and small discount offered by pub, but in hindsight we should not have been charged at all. We will not be visiting here again and I assure you that you have many disgruntled customers. Nice new decor by the way.

The Vale is presently being refurbished and rebranded from a Green King to a Marstons, the beer was always acceptable food was generally microwaved so I look forward to better times.

I visited The Vale several times over the past few months, Very reasonably priced drinks. The food looked inviting but havent had a meal there. Unfortunately one of the regulars had issues with me being gay. This has put me off returning for a while. Other than that, couldn't fault the place.

Popped down for a bite to eat last weekend and found the menu has changed, firstly the prices have increased a fair bit and secondly ( the main disappointment for me) not a salad in sight , I have always enjoyed their chicken and bacon superfood salad but nothing :( so sadly whilst I’m on a diet we will be staying away, shame really as overall it’s a lovely pub with a very friendly and warm atmosphere and good value for money

After discovering here on our travels. My husband and I found out that this pub was with the same chain as the bell pub a little way around the corner

Well since this pub was taken over by Milton Breweries standards have dropped dramatically, what used to be clean and tidy is now.......to start,the menus which are wipeable are filthy, tables sticky etc, the toilets are getting shabby too,the food has suffered also. The decour (ceiling) has been patched with a different type of paper so stands out like a sore thumb, the whole ceiling has been painted over but the edges have been forgotten. It's such a shame as this is really a nice place to visit. It makes me wonder if the management have somewhere else lined up.

Went for first time today with my 95 year old friend. Lovely warm, friendly, welcoming staff. Good and very reasonably priced food, including a children's portion for a smaller appetite. We'll definitely be going there again. Thank you.

Fuimos el sábado pasado a almorzar, es parte de la cadena de chisporroteantes de pubs. Está dirigido por John y cenizas que hacen un gran trabajo. El menú es variado y a un precio muy razonable. Mi comida era exactamente como ordenados y caliente. Nos visitan regularmente y sólo han tenido problemas en un par de ocasiones que fueron resueltas tan pronto como nos dijo algo.

Food was excellant and sizzling hot. My only complaint would be the cappuccino.....need a proper coffee/cappuccino machine and we had to wait almost 10 minutes before I eventually got the cappuccino which I couldn't drink as it tasted like an instant drink

Mi única queja es que cuando entras en un sábado por la tarde alrededor de las 4:30 la mayoría de las mesas tienen reservados carteles con horarios y nombres escritos en ellos, es un Pub no un restaurante. Así que la lección que aprendimos es que "si usted desea comer aquí reservar una mesa".

Nada especial. La comida era promedio. Buena variedad de bebidas y precios razonables. Servicio amable. El bar es muy animado con mesa de billar, TV y dart junta.

Éramos un grupo de 28 reuniones para el almuerzo para celebrar bodas de diamante de mis padres y no pudo haber sido mejor tratado o tuvo un recibimiento más cálido en cualquier lugar. El pub tenía un feliz, ambiente agradable y el personal era fantástico - eficiente y servicial, alegre, todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí. Todos habíamos elegido previamente desde el menú festivo, que tenía una amplia elección a un precio muy razonable, y no nos decepcionó. La comida era deliciosa, caliente, bien preparada y bien presentada y había un montón de cosas. No errores o mezcla de ups. Las mesas se ha creado para nosotros y estaban decoradas perfectamente. El pub estaba muy ocupado con otros grupos y personas, muchas de ellas residentes (que no estaban), pero en ningún momento nos hicieron sentir que tuvimos les preguntamos si tenían servicio de nuestra bienvenida, que siendo en exceso de 5 horas. Teníamos todo lo que podrías pedir para hacer de esta una gran celebración familiar y sin duda volveremos.

Ambiente encantador y amable. Buena selección de cervezas. La comida a un precio razonable. Hay un bar y un salón. Se puede reservar mesas para comer si es necesario. Sizzling pub de cadena.

Regularly visit this local pub and since new manager took over he has made the place 'look good' inside and out. But looks are not everything, both he and his staff are friendly, helpful and will have a laugh with you. The food is not 'cordon bleu' but it is good food, well cooked and well presented. In fact 'Best Fish & Chips in Coventry!' and half the price of the chippies!!! Keep up the good work, please. See you soon.......

We come here on a regular basis and have seen a distinctive change in attitude and also staff, it's just got a bit careless in customer service area's. Plus the portions seem to have deminished, here,s hoping it's only a blip.

Called in the vale to meet up with some friends, all choose different meals & we where all very satisfied with the meals we choose. the service was very quick & the atmosphere was very nice.

Dropped in for a pint. Decided to have a bite to eat. The drinks were of a good quality and the service first class. We ordered food and we were pleasently surprised at the quality. For the price this is well worth a try. We shall be returning.

Met the girls for lunch,lots to choise from we ordered 2 x Fish Chips, Hunters Chicken, Steak, all our meals were lovely, Staff are very friendly and we didnt have wait to long for our meals, we also ordered wine prices are very resonable, Will definately be back for a another lunch/evening meal.

12 of us went for tea we had booked a table so seated straight away food was really good and didn't have to wait long my only criticism is the member of staff looking after us was quite miserable one of the meals had the wrong sauce on and when asked to change it she didn't look very happy but overall was a very pleasant evening.

The food here was nice but the vale is better as a social pub rather than a family orientated restaurant as their as a lot of locals inside drinking, apart from this it seemed okay

Called in with friends around 2pm saturday 05/03/16 and found most tables reserved in the lounge. the three available tables had just six customers, anyone coming through the door looked around and left, as we did. strange way to run a pub

It's local to us so we popped in with our neighbours for a couple and a bite to eat, beer was quite good (as I drink real ale) but the food was very good, it's a typical sizzler so the variety is vast. The food comes out piping hot, but check the menu to see if you have ALL that it comes with( in our case the coleslaw was missing). The place is very clean and the Management are improving it slowly, I do believe a renovation is on the cards for early this year with the Management being involved with the whole process.Yes I do recommend this place for a bite and a pint.

Haven't been to the "Vale" for sometime. Have to say pleasantly surprised when we popped in for an evening meal. Found the surroundings clean well decorated and the relaxing background music was just that background. Good choice of pub food, meals were served in good time, were piping hot and tasty. Staff courteous and checked during each course (we had 3 courses) to ensure that we were happy with our meals. We will be going again

Visited the Vale as its local to us. Enjoyed the meal although it took a long time to come. Varied and very busy menu. Atmosphere was nice. Staff pleasant.

I have lived in the area for over 10 years, and this place never seems to improve. As it is my local, I go there every now and then for a cheap easy meal, and I often find issues with my visits. Today, enough was enough. Monday night, a handful of people in the lounge so we expected to have a quick meal and be home within the hour- wrong. Speed of service has ALWAYS been extremely slow, regardless of how busy they are. Waited a good 40 minutes for 4 meals (2 of which were for 2 and 4 year olds), and my wife's Gammon dish came without the eggs, and my Peri Peri Burger came without onion rings and the bloody sauce! The woman who we complained to was very apologetic and informed us that the MANAGER was doing the cooking- how can it be that the customer knows more about the menu than the bloody manager? If you like Sizzling Pubs, go to the Maudsley, a lot busier but food is always good and doesn't take an eternity. If you have a couple of hours of your life that you don't want back, go to the Vale and see for yourselves.

Visited here Sunday evening for tea and what a transformation, the previous management is back and boy can't you tell. To start the bar area has had a good deep clean its fresh and tidy AND welcoming, the food is still typical Sizzler,cheap and cheerful. Now the main thing are the toilets they are spotless no smells only bleach.This is the place to visit as long as the current management stay, Highly recommended.

This is a pub that serves food. It is a sizzling steak place. Had a beef lasagne when it came it had no meat in it just tomato sauce and pasta. Told staff who took it away, never replaced the meal and charge me for it.

I regularly visit this pub for lunch or dinner after a heavy night on the pop! I find the food to be very good for pub grub and extremely cheap for the portion size! The staff are what to be expected for a locals pub, laid back and friendly. I have never had any issues with poor food, I have always found it to be very nice.Will definitely be continuing to visit for hangover food and more

The food was dry and microwaved. As the pub was quiet I would have expected that at least the onion rings were cooked and not microwaved. Really disappointed again with sizzling pubs

Went to the vale for the first time on Sunday29/03/15 we family of four adults enjoyed a good meal served by frendly staff pleasent helpfull bar staff helpfull even when getting full food and service excellent we enjoyed our afternoon will visit again

We go here probably 2 or 3 times per Month, sometimes to eat or maybe just a drink. Very clicky sort of pub where you get stared at as you walk in because you are not one of the group. Having said that the food is typical Sizzler, cheap and cheerful, the gents toilets leave alot to be desired and the bar area could do with a good deep clean. The standards of the previous Manager were a lot higher than the present one but hey it's cheap and you get what you pay for. The outside is looking tired and the carpark is full of large pot holes, it is actually starting to look out of place in the area, something for the brewery to sort out.
