I stumbled across this cafe after wondering around the Hunterian Museum a short walk away. I was so excited to hear from the staff that everything was vegan!! Almost too much to choose from 😍 I had the savoury tart of the day and a oatly flat white both of which were great, and reasonably priced. Will definitely be prioritising coming back here during my remaining days in Glasgow!

Better than average. Pleasant cakes. Fair prices. Reasonable coffee. Friendly. Just not sensational.

Visited V&V but sadly didn’t get to try their food as they stop serving kitchen food from 4pm. We were a little late after exploring Glasgow! However my friend had a cinnamon swirl and we enjoyed their coffee so we were happy. There’s loads of vegan cakes and they even offer raw cakes too. However I do think it would be handy for them to label the cakes that contain soya. As I’m allergic to soya! I absolutely loved the music they were playing and the staff were very friendly.

On a damp afternoon we were looking for a nice cup of coffee and cake and having trouble, but there was space here and some interesting options to consider. I was immediately intrigued by seeing black forest coffee on the specials board, and had to try that, along with an apricot Danish pastry. One of my friends went for a fruit scone. Of course being a vegan establishment I have no idea what kind of milk was in the coffee, or what was in the Danish, but it didn't matter as they were both extremely tasty. It seemed to be popular while we were there with plenty people coming and going. Recommended.

Two cakes for £7.50 looked great but tasted so bland. The other food looked great too and great atmosphere but when you go to a place to eat if it lets you down then rather have gone somewhere else :-(

Having raved about the toasted sandwich I had here on my first visit last year, I couldn't not come back when I was in Glasgow again. I had the same toastie, very unadventurous I know, but I didn't want anything too big, & portion sizes seem to be very generous! As last time, the people working here are just lovely.

Visited for the first time on sun 13th jan 2019. Lovely outlook on to the River Tay. Lots of space inside and Cruise Liner exhibit was enjoyable. Be aware of queues in ground floor cafe at busy times.

We dropped in to try the cooked breakfast and it really was excellent, the homemade baked beans and tomato sauce were a nice touch. Set us up nicely for our day in Glasgow. They have a great range of vegan products for sale or takeaway including sandwiches, pies, soups etc. We got some of the vegan chocolate to give a try.

Friendly staff, good selection of menu choices (including vegan pastries!) and well stocked wee vegan deli shop too. Non-vegans enjoyed their food, and the fussy vegan (me) got to tuck into a nice fried breakfast :-) Only downside was the slow service - this wasn't unexpected as there were only two folk on, trying to serve / cook / clear tables on a busy (sunny) Sunday morning. Whilst waiting for the food was OK only half the table was cleared leaving three of us to sit with our coffees and a pile of dirty plates.

I've been a regular here since Black Pine opened seven years ago, appearing at least once every week, and sometimes more frequently. Mostly I come on my own, but have also introduced friends and family. My experience of both the coffee and the service has always been extremely positive. Pete and the team have succeeded in creating a stylish, relaxed environment. They are a friendly lot, and like nothing better than a bit of backchat at the same time as serving up the best cup of coffee in the area. And I am VERY fussy about my coffee...I kid them on that I only come for the playlist, but that is simply not true. The place is inviting, the coffee is great, and the people are smart and funny as well as being good at their jobs. Now, guys, where's my free coffee?!!
