The Urban Chocolatier Barkingside in Redbridge

The menu looked amazing and when the food came it did not disappoint. It was explosive and bursting with flavour.

Nakill had excellent service, really kind and helpful.

Sree was a fantastic server, very efficient!

Yesterday i had a great time at urban chocolatier , we ordered waffle and everything was amazing , on the top the service was amazing the server named as nakhal did a great job and lovely girl help us to select our desert !

Came here in the evening as a large group, were served immediately to a table suited to our party size. There is a beautiful aesthetic to the place, and it was very well kept and was pretty busy when we came in the late evening, with it continuing to fill up even as we left. Ordered a range of desserts, all were very nicely presented and had a really good taste. The Oreo cookie dough I found was a bit too sickly sweet, probably due to the white chocolate, but nevertheless I did enjoy the remaining desserts. Lotus milk cake was nice and not too soggy with the option to add more milk to it. Their drinks were also good too. Service was good however, they ended up forgetting the sans sebastian cheesecake we’d ordered which we ended up cancelling instead.

My husband and I came here and shared a sundae, it was good value for money given that £11 and between us it was too much, the service was prompt and the atmosphere was lovely. I would come back!

Very good dessert options are available. Kunafe sizzler dessert was really yummy.

I visited Urban Chocolatier today with my family, and it was an amazing experience! The variety of desserts is incredible, and everything we tried was delicious. The waffles were perfectly fluffy and so yummy, I can literally say it was the best I had so far 😋 The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. Overall fantastic service. Highly recommend it for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Been here 3 times now. The 1st time was decent enough. However, yesterday was a terrible experience. From asking for a dairy free/vegan alternative (as my son has a dairy allergy) and the staff member having no idea what I meant - stating “it’s gelato, so it’s all vegan”. Which not only is ridiculously unprofessional but downright dangerous. To my other kids’ ice cream having remnants of over flavors in it. My wife’s ice cream tasted old, she didn’t receive the flavour she asked for and we were fobbed off when querying. To my cake shake being stale and flavorless. I did ask to speak to the manager before leaving - was offered an apology and given a 10% discount. Better than nothing, I guess. But hardly adequate. Avoid this place. Unless you’re not bothered about quality, customer service or safety concerning allergies.

Open late. Aesthetically pleasing shop. Plenty of seating. Overall a good place to sit down and relax over some dessert.

I am a regular customer at this branch. I went late last night with my daughter and asked to be seated in one of the booth however Pooja refused me and said for 2 people they cannot offer these seats. I questioned why the 2 guys also sitting in the booth were allowed these seats she said they have extra people coming shortly after the 2 guys got there desert but no extra people turned up so it seems Urban chocolatier favour who can sit in the booth! The place was fairly quiet and I don't see why I was not able to sit where I want. Spoke to the manager who also was very unhelpful and clearly no understanding of customer service especially being a regular customer. The staff are unprofessional no customer care.

The desserts were delicious as always. Unfortunately the customer service was terribly lacking today. We were a table of three ladies and we were still eating when a waitress came to take our dishes away twice in the space of 20 mins ( note that we had spoons half way to our mouths). At one point, one of us asked are you in a hurry to get rid of us. We had come out to meet old friends and de-stress after a hectic week at work, but we left feeling rather insulted. Not sure if this is the right place to chill with friends anymore.

Customer service is really slow / non existent and inconsistent - no one greeted us yesterday (31/03/25) around midday. We waited over 15+ minutes for someone to come to the table to take our order - the place was empty. We left before ordering - 2 staff were standing by the till doing nothing, who didn’t apologise after we told them why we’re leaving. I’ve been here at least 10 times - the price doesn’t justify the experience. It’s pricier than most dessert places and apart from the decor inside, there’s no reason why a dessert should be £10-13.

We had great experience with Urban Chocolatier Especially Thanks to Nafal, She is very humble and welcoming as always, we often come here and she always treats us in a good way, Today we were fours friends and we enjoyed a lot.

Delivery time kept changing said I had to wait 6 mins then ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes and getting half melted ice cream also the store should keep hot and cold food in separate bags I don’t want melted ice cream before I get chance to eat it

Service was very quick and the lady Chaitra did our order straight away and remembered it all without noting it down which was very impressive. All in all highly recommended! She literally made us melt!!!

We visited shop at 12.45am today. The staff said we are closed. I pointed out that their website says 1.30am. He said its wrong. If you close at 1pm then please advertise you close at 1am. Do not advertise 1.30.

Yesterday a group of 12 of us, plus 2 toddlers and a baby went for a celebration at the Barkingside branch. We had a lovely afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing. There is a phenomenal choice of desserts. They were all very plentiful and beautifully presented at a very reasonable price. The decor is very swish. Whether it's a pop in for a treat or to celebrate an occasion, I would highly recommend the Urban chocolatier. We are already planning and looking forward to our next visit!

Date Visited – 28 February 2025. Highly Recommended. Food Quality: We Order Mount Pistachio Sundae, Kinder King Freashake, and Chocolate Milkshake. The portion were really huge, and more than enough for a single person to finish. The products were presented nicely, without any spillage and amazingly decorated. Please see the pictures of the products I attached with the review. In terms of Menu, they have a large varieties of food options to choose from. Table Booking – The advance booking is not required. You can turn up on the day and Staff will be able to help you. Enough space available and can cater group of 5+ in one single table. Price: We paid £23 for 3. Location: The Restaurant is on the Ilford High Street - 37-39 High St, Ilford IG6 2AD (Near Sainsburys Barkingside); it is on the Main Road so you can locate it easily. Parking – There are many street pay and park facilities available, however it will be challenging to find one. Customer Service: Brilliant Customer Service by Chaitra. Each of the Staff we interacted, right from the front door to checkout, each of them were serving with a smile.

We visited UC with family to celebrate an occasion but coming back to it for the milk cake. The waffles feel refreshing. The staff (especially Chaitra) is kind, co-operative and also helped us to click some family pictures.
