Always great service, food and beer but please fix the hand dryer in the ladies, it's been broken for ages! Occasionally pub is a bit cold too.

Delicious pizza, nice pub and good selection of beers

This was one of the best ever burger and chips. At my age, I can safely say that I have tried quite a few to compare this experience with.

Buzzing. Decent pizzas. Good range of keg beers. One real ale and one natural draught cider.

dearest reader, just had an unfriendly welcome as it was our first time going to this pub. there was no direction, as to seating and ordering. we ordered two ciders and i asked for a well-done dodo burger. the stoic faced waitress said their burgers were usually well-done. it came out quite pink. i tried to give it a chance, and it ended up making my stomach feel terrible. the cider was also an acquired taste. definitely will not be returning.

Used to be a good place. Not sure what's going on here but staff are very unhappy. Don't worry, we won't be back to bother you by ordering drinks and being there.

Great pub! Mostly locals, great atmosphere lots of games to play and plenty of choice for drinks. Staff all offering great service and are friendly.

We’ve been a few times with our children and the food has been great every time, just went again tonight and it was absolutely superb. Chicken burger (Dirty Bird) was one of the best I’ve ever had, and pizzas are properly cooked (puffy and chewy crust, perfectly charred from a good pizza oven) with good ingredients, even those on the good value kids menu. Wines could be better but beers good too and nice relaxed atmosphere inside and in the garden. Look forward to going again soon.

Well not sure what’s happened to the management in here…such a shame! We went in and were met by the grumpy manager almost upset we asked for diet lemonade and then asking us to repeat the order twice. Zero smile. Zero thanks. Then gave us a pint of ice almost with our drinks - barely even any coke in it. Seemed we were putting him out? This then seemed to happen with any staff member. Someone kept trying to take my 1/3 beer and when I said I’m drinking this they looked really put out and outraged. Really weird ambience! Hoping the manager is new and won’t be staying for long!

What a great surprise finding this pub during our exploration in Oxford with our dog. Good options for beer (husband approved their Top Social IPA), great atmosphere and service.

Perfect pub for day or evening. Burgers are great, and a good variety of beers available. They work hard to create community and have great events, and weekly deals for lunch. Music choices are superb for working or chatting.

Eating good in this place. They also have a neapolitan pizza Margherita ,.very nice tasty, staff friendly

One of our favourite spots - great place for beers with friends, but also perfect for family gatherings. Lovely food, fast service, very welcoming.

Still very good pizza, still kind service, still good atmosphere for families during the afternoon. Even the simply red, the pizza without the cheese is great. And the beer selection is great for evening with friends

Wonderful evening with a group of friends (one with mobility issues) The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and helped us with all our needs before and during the visit. Would highly recommend and want to thank the manager and the person at the bar who helped make it a fantastic experience.

Decent food ,was given a dirty plate and waitress dropped some of our chips all over the table and didn’t bother to replace them . very rude and dismissive barman , we said good bye and thank you and got completely ignored . After being looked up and down when we ordered. Rather silly to treat paying customers like you couldn’t care less …

Great staff good food good price

I love love love this pub. Best pizza in Oxford, go and try the mushrooms truffle pizza, it’s the best and the vibes in the summer evenings outside is too good. Mostly student crowd and you can play table tennis. Other food is amazing as well, if you love burgers go for it. Prices are considerable and outside seating with heater and is covered. Inside seating is also available. Drinks menu have enough options.

A very good place if you want food and the atmosphere is brilliant

Sadly this pub has gone downhill of late. It's fine for a drink if you don't mind paying the same prices as the centre of town but avoid the food as it's all premium prices for budget products. Such a shame, go elsewhere if you don't fancy getting ripped off.

It's the only pub in the nearby area of Marston. Good service. Good vibes. Good food. Lovely outdoor seating in the backyard. Excellent on a sunny day. There is a ping pong table in case you would like to play. You can get the equipment from pub staff with a 5 GBP deposit.

The pizza was quite nice. It would be improved by not burning the base. My girlfriend (who is Italian and a pizza guru) said it needed more cheese and the correct type of olive. She also said something along the lines of Neapolitan pizzas having a thicker crust. I think she’s being too picky for a generalist restaurant in Oxford. 9/10 would go again. Update: I had the pizza again and this time it was cooked to perfection. My only criticism is the coffee is very bitter. The cake is also average. If they served better coffee and cake I’d go more often during the day.

Dodo pubs, an Oxford institution. Great food, nice spaces and great drink from, what I believe to be, an independent brewery.

Nice enough pub but with consistently rude manager

This has been (and remains) our go-to since we moved to the area. BUT please bring back Lala Falco and the Gochujang sauce!

This pub is not for the faint hearted. If you want a quiet drink and a bite to eat then this pub is not for you. We ordered pizzas and they were awful. Freezing cold and horrible tasting. We paid £14.50 for this. When I complained, they took it seriously and treated us to a drink each. The pub was VERY noisy and packed. We won't be going there again. Sorry!

I was down in Oxford on business, and was recommended this place by a guy at my hotel, he said the best burgers in Oxford. Quite a tall order to live up to. So I went and found out. I ordered their staple called the big d, is was delicious, easily up there with the best burgers iv tasted. The chips where light and crunchy too, and the buffalo wings were bangin. So glad I tried it out. The bar staff were very nice too. I think the guys who served me was called Jeremy.

I enjoy this pub. It's ample, has a garden, and has board games. Burgers and pizzas are nice. Overall, it was a pleasant pub to spend a couple of hours.

This is local to us and always disappointing. It’s the staff, just dont smile and aren’t friendly. We know hospitality is hard work, and demanding. The staff here always look as if they don’t want to be there. The managers are just a bit evasive and as a local pub, it’s just not worth the money and time. Rather go to the White Horse in headington. It’s a shame really 😔

Was here for the mulled wine/cider. Was not disappointed.

Excellent service and good quality food

I go to this pub pretty often with friends and also family. The food is very good - good selection of burgers and pizzas plus other smaller dishes like chicken wings. The pizza has improved recently and the one I had on my last visit was really great. Not the widest selection of beers, but there’s always something that most people would like. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

A creative selection of burgers and pizzas which went down well with everyone. I would rate five stars but I do think it's quite significantly overpriced when you buy burgers. It was £13.50 for the burger by itself, with no side. If you want chips you have to pay at least £3.50 for their least expensive side. You'd think at £13.50 for a (tasty but smallish) burger they would throw in some fries with it. Still worth going for the atmosphere and service - but they'd have to knock the price down a bit for me to come back.

Friendly staff, awesome burgers and pizzas

Freshly cooked food is superb, the fact that it's dog friendly is a huge bonus. Portion of fries bit on the small size. Good range of craft beers, couldn't try any as I was on driving duty but would certainly go back. Parking is problematic but that isn't the establishment's fault Overall, very good

I can't fault the all day music event. Great, if mixed ability, bands and delicious pizza. That's all good. But this pub serves the dirtest pint I've ever tasted, Dodo Black. It's a stout that tastes like it was flavoured by a cadaver and then matured in septic tank!! It's rank, dispose of it.

Do NOT order a burger! You get 2 choices for how done: Pink or Brown. Pink is usually some stage of medium to rare in mast establishments. NOT HERE! My ‘pink’ came with a lovely wrll done exterior and a totally RAW interior!! Not efen close to having been heated through as you could take the raw bits and make your own mini patty by squishing the bits together. Totally the wring texture. Last time I even order a burger there. Now I’m worried about how they do or do not fully cook the chicken!

Nice place to go and enjoy pub-life with friends. Pizza was good, ordered dodo burger on our second night out and it was so much better. Thirsty Thursday is the best to enjoy their cocktails and Club Tropicana is my fav. Had a chance to try their home brewed toffee wonk and it must be tried. Staff was great, polite and friendly. We became new returners and enjoyed multiple evenings here.

Ordered a pizza and chips as a takeaway and it was awful. Pizza had raw garlic and portion sizes were tiny.

Very good pizza, very tasty and a great deal at £6.50 for a lunch. Place was a little quiet but that's unsurprising for a lunch time.

It was early afternoon so few there so difficult to get the party atmosphere, however ideal for a catch up with an old friend. 👌.

Amazing burgers and wings! And super consitent with the quality. The pizzas are good ish and they have decent house beers and yummy shots but cocktails are a hit and miss. They have a lovely spacious outdoor area and welcomes kids. Bar staff are really friendly too

A nice place to grab some food and a drink. The place has a nice atmosphere with a nice beer garden. I've only given 4 stars because I wasn't too impressed with the chicken burger as it was overcooked and dry as well as the chips were mostly just the crispy small bits you sometimes get. I expected better for £15. I've been here before and had better food (I would recommend the pizza).

Perfect summers day pub with reliably good beer and pizza

Lovely place. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice big garden with table tennis. The seul bird burger and salami pizza were both delicious. The music inside was quite loud but no speakers in the garden so that's where we sat. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We came here for lunch because they do the Caffeine and Cake hot chocolate, which my wife is a fan of. This is part of a mini-chain of Dodo pubs around Oxford, and they all have a pretty consistent high quality formula. We had the £6 lunch pizza meal (margarita or tomato pizza), which was great value as the pizzas were big and very nice. The dips (we had garlic and BBQ) are also very good. There was also a wide selection of beers and a set of home-made liquors. The atmosphere is nice, there are games and books, and colouring in for kids. Service was very fast and friendly. The beer garden is lovely, with a table tennis table in the middle and plenty of sheltered tables if it gets sunny or rainy. There is free parking as well.

I love this pub - the beer is good, the pizza is great, cozy both outside and indoors.

This is my local so we do go often. The staff are always miserable and never friendly. For a local pub they don’t make you feel welcome. Not sure what it is but the staff can also be a bit rude at times. Guess it’s the managers that set the rules but whatever it is, they just don’t get it. Shame as it could be loads better

We are fairly regular patrons at the Up in Arms, but no more ! I just received a £100 parking fine in return for a 40 minute drink on 13th April. If there is signage relating to the car park it is completely inadequate and not mentioned when we ordered our drink. A nice little earner for someone but wont be going back !

We booked a section of the pub for a work event, there was about 30 of us. We did a pre-order with the manager Luke, who was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food came out quickly and was super yummy. We will definitely be back and would recommend to others, familys/friends/work events, the lot. Thanks gang!

Cool pub with interesting food menu and guest beers/ciders. Pub quiz alternate Thursdays, difficult but fun! They've got mulled wine for the winter season!
