The Union Bank in Wakefield

Excellent busy bar fantastic music great bar staff craig knows how to spin those decks and jay knows how to run a good ship and has a relatively good team on the bar its the place to be on a nite for sure free admission all nite long competitively priced drinks and open until the small hours good all round pub the best in wakefield zero tolerance of drugs and trouble making it a safe place to be .

After my previous visit I went back recently and there has been some improvement. There was a smarter looking person behind the bar who stayed there to serve drinks and even better the locks and doors in the Ladies toilets have now been fixed/replaced. The pub was warm with good music and a little busier than before. A definite improvement all round so will continue to call in.

First time back in this pub in months & it’s such a shame it’s gone down hill again only plus side is the pub is warm that’s where the positives stop. Bar staff took our order we had to pay then she gave us our drinks, no food anymore, no atmosphere, few locals swearing away in conversation talking to the pub manager at the side of the bar, toilets one out of order the other the lock hanging off if I’d got a screw driver I would have fixed this myself for them, so sad it’s now couldn’t care less management running this place could be so much better.

After seeing the boards outside offering a January sale on certain drinks such as John Smiths and wine, we thought we'd give it a go. The staff seemed unaware of the advertised wine offer so there was a bit of quibbling (after all that was the reason we'd gone in there) but it was reluctantly sorted out, by the uninterested staff which didn't make us feel at all welcome. Apart from the unfriendly staff the other thing I didn't like was that both the Ladies toilets had broken locks/doors which really need sorting out. However, on the plus side the pub was comfy and warm , the music was good and not too loud ,so we may go back and try it again.

Absolutely disgusting there was 2 rats running about in the glass wash area door staff had white residue around their nostrils very slow service and ill mannered staff been in once since and only thing that changed was no sign of the rats but obvious door staff still snorting and same god damn rude staff .

Lovely establishment. Staff really friendly, cheap drinks, can’t recommend highly enough. Come here very often and always pleased.

AMAZING STAFF! Treat us with so much respect and even let us in on a few deals that were going on! Couldn’t think of anywhere better!

Lovely place to go for a drink and watch sport,all the staff are brilliant, we have a great time when we go.

Called in to watch the football the pub was quite busy but they did not have any John Smiths on again which appears to happening a lot now as this has happened to us previously It’s advertised as food being available Sundays but something must have been wrong with kitchen as quite a few people were going out for takeaways & bringing them back to eat inside. No toilet paper in both ladies toilets had to ask the bar staff to sort this out. My lager also tasted like vinegar, it’s a shame the standards are slipping because it’s decor is great & drink prices are really good value ( when they have what you want )

Very cosy and chilled out, cheap drinks and lovely staff. Came to watch the sport on the big tv and Had a Good cheap meal too.

Went to the union bank last week and watched the football. Wow it was an amazing atmosphere and a great big tv so picture was perfect. It was so good we stayed for food and the menus was spot on, I had katsu chicken with rice and I thought it was spit on, the wife had the 3 small plates and couldn’t finish it, so I polished it off the wings were to die for. Can’t wait for the premier league to start back as I will be returning. Thanks so much

Came in for the England match on Friday, class atmospheres and the biggest screen i have seen in a pub. Definitely be back for the Tuesday game.

Cant supply drinks advertised on a weekend what sort of management doesnt order in to meet demand on a weekend then get ignored for 10mins while barstaff stand back chatting hats off to kirsty though she stepped up to the mark but was too late due to poor service from others let other bars have my money instead

His is my local and the food and drinks are spot on the service is great highly recommend. I had triple cheese burger and for starters had 3 starters as a mix.
