When it was the Cider press it was good,now it's just a mess.

Recently renovated and now open as Boomers, very pleasant afternoon, and our designated driver was given a complimentary cup of tea which made our visit even more enjoyable

A friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff, but the choice of drinks is SERIOUSLY lacking. As a former Cider pub, it used to have a fantastic range of cider that would lead me to recommend it to everybody. Now the range of drinks is no different from any other mid-range pub. It's a real shame.

Probably not quite right to judge this public house on a quiet Tuesday evening (most of the pubs in this area also suffer with clientele that can only be described as being in the doldrums earlier in the week), unsurprisingly it looks like they get a lot busier towards the weekend, with a lot of live music advertised on the walls. Probably well worth another visit at those times nearer the weekend, check this 'pub' out on the busier days at the end of the week, highly recommended, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great range of ciders but very hot and stuffy, not enough ventilation on a hot day. UPDATE- Soon to be under new ownership and renamed The Trawlerman and no longer a cider house 😢

Been wanting to go here for a long time and it did not disappoint. Plenty of Ciders, Perry's and Cyders (look up the differences) to choose from, or like me, have a taster board of 3 x 1/3 pint glasses so that you can say you've had all the ciders in the house. The atmosphere is friendly and everyone gets on great with each other. The lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable and I just let her choose the drinks. Friendly dogs are welcome and with no TV to distract people, you have to be old skool and talk to each other. The only disappointment was they no longer do the ploughman's or sandwiches that are still on some reviews/internet searches. Will definitely become a regular when visiting Plymouth. Update New owners, music was too loud and we had to converse through shouting however, it was turned down slightly and made more comfortable after an hour or so. Still a great selection of ciders/cyders and pyders. Missed the fantastic barmaid, but, the new barman was very knowledgeable. No running water in the men's, so did not touch the food out on the bar. Still 5 stars though.

Very friendly staff, excellent range of ciders (of course), beer range good. Such a shame that the non-drinker is not accommodated. Coke, lemonade, water on postmix, not even lime cordial.

What a quirky little gem. Always visit here when in Plymouth. Fantastic choice of Scrumpy/Cider and Perry and an eclectic mix of locals.... try it just behind Jury's hotel.

Can't come to Plymouth without a quick stop at the Cider house! As you'd expect from the name they have all the ciders you could ask for, boxed and off the tap. The staff are very knowledgeable and will let you try before you buy. There's plenty of seating inside although it can get a little cramped. The mens toilet could do with some work too.

Funny bartender, good cider. Don't ask him to slice a pickled egg.

Rustic pub the serves loads of different types of cider. Have visited a few times and like it. Will be going again.

Small friendly pub with a huge choice of ciders in excellent condition. Called in on our way to the cinema close by. When we visited, Paul the barman took time to talk to me about the various ciders. We will definitely be paying another visit. I sampled the Mango, and the Rhubarb cider both at 4%, also had a taste of the Black Rat Pear cider at 6%. All great. The Mango cider might be too sweet for a lot of people but I certainly could have drunk a lot more. My husband had Old Rosie perfect condition.

First Friday in the month and Live music from Five n' Dimes. Excellent as ever and a nice pint of Tribute if you don't like cider.

If you like cider and a more relaxed atmosphere for a lunchtime/afternoon drink in Plymouth then this is the place to go. Situated near to the main shopping arcades and Barbican but tucked away enough to be free of crowds this beautiful old building is a haven for a quick drink whilst shopping or sightseeing. The range of Ciders is huge, bar staff friendly and knowledgeable and decor is very interesting too!

Great choice of cider here and very reasonable sampler platters at under £4 for 3 thirds. Only off putting thing was a somewhat unpleasant odour throughout.

Excellent range of ciders, plus a perry. Try the Sam's Dry. However, the very loud muzac is off-putting.

A favourite venue for students, great atmosphere and a huge range of ciders to choose from. I have visited this place quite a few times with some friends from uni and it is always a good time.

Old style pub with an amazing selection of cider. So many in fact it would take weeks to try them all. The barman will offer a taster shot to help you select the ones that would suit your palette. A pleasant place to spend an hour or so tasting some interesting ciders.

Enjoyed this pub while staying in the Jury's In hotel, (50 meters).

Lovely atmospheric pub , great choice of ciders , and lovely characters to boot, will be probably my next local .

Plenty of cider as the name implies, they're all good and the woman running the bar seemed to know about all of them, usually a friendly crowd in the place. A word of warning though, most of the ciders look around 7% or more, so hope you ate something today. Plenty of seating, nice place to relax or a stop on your night out, it's not far from some of the hotels and may E a 5 minute walk from the waterside.

Wow. This place is amazing. The range of ciders are out of this world. Good prices and fantastic flavours. Be warned, some are deceiving in strength. I certainly wobbled off home after visiting this place! 😁
