I came here for a work Christmas lunch. Had a lovely prawn cocktail for starters and hand carved turkey dinner for the main course. The food was really nice, and the staff were very friendly. Had a great time.

Laura and i shared a happy lunch time banter. Great staff all round, lovely locals atmosphere good. Sky sports could do with an upgrade Food reasonably priced and cooked well. Glen.

Our local!! 👌🏼 We pop in most Fridays, and the atmosphere is always friendly.. Food is always spot on & the the staff are fabulous.. highly recommend. Family friendly too!!

A disappointing visit today. Has been much better in the past. Ordered 2 jacket potatoes with cheese and beans having bought our drinks from the bar. It took approximately 50 minutes for the food to arrive. It is half the term holiday but it wasn't busy. The side salad was lettuce that had started to wilt and was bruised. A bit of chopped up red pepper, no tomato or onion as per the picture on the menu. No pat of butter for the potato. It was dry. Food brought to the table by a female member of staff. A smile would have not gone amiss. Wasn't asked if we were enjoying the meal part way through which is usually standard. A young male came to take our plates away and I mentioned the poor quality food. He was receptive and advised he would let the kitchen know. Basic training on customer care for staff would enhance the customer experience. We won't be in a rush to go back.

We went with my grandchildren about a month ago 3 young children waited over an hour only to find out r order wasn't put into the kitchen wasn't happy didn't offer us nothing to replace the food they didn't serve us had to take kids for a McDonald's they was crying cause they were that hungry wasn't happy

Take my mum here frequently and they couldn’t be more accommodating. Excellent service by lovely staff. Food is cheap as chips, pub is clean and smart. Couldn’t ask for more really.

Does what it does very well. A traditional pub with a fairly limited menu by other standards - however the food served was excellent. Our party of 5 all really enjoyed our meals. I had the beef and ale pie and found it hard to falter. Even the chips were cooked to perfection. Credit where credit’s due.

Food was really nice and our server Declan was extremely nice to everyone at the table and made sure we were satisfied and having a nice time.

Had a very pleasant early evening meal at the Travellers Rest. Staff attentive and the food order was brought to our table promptly and efficiently and it was very nice. The dessert ordered again was served promptly although I had to ask for the custard to be heated in the microwave as it was originally served lukewarm

Really nice and attentive staff, the food was great, piping hot and speedy service. I would like to give a special shout out to Laura who really friendly and up for a chat. We came as a party of 7 and nothing was too much for the team! We will definitely be back, thanks again 🙂

JO and the team are a credit to the green king group.. Staff always very friendly and polite. Especially Mackenzie this member of staff always has a smile and friendly banter... Been coming to the travs for years and will continue with this staff

Together with my wife and her friend, we had a most unfortunate experience. I ordered the food and drinks at the bar. No issues. However the waitress came out with two mains and when my wife asked about the starters, the girl said yes you are getting them as well. Which would have meant the mains sitting getting even colder. The girl with ill grace took mains away. There was then a far from satisfactory delay before the starters were cleared and the mains served with barely lukewarm mushy peas. The apple crumble desert was a layer of stewed apple from one tin and some crumble from a packet ladled on top. The ice cream I had ordered was suspiciously like hot lumpy custard! My wife fancied a second glass of wine but no bar staff about when asked the waitress said there was only her and made no attempt to offer to take a drinks order. I suggest head office needs to do some serious staff customer relationship training. Not good enough!!

Came here to meet family and have some food, sunday lunch was nice and was what expected for the price. had one person who was gluten and dairy intolerant and the staff were brilliant and very helpful with what can and cant be eaten. Staff were so lovely and overall had a very nice time ! will come back xx

I visited the travelers rest yesterday with some friends only to find I had to sit and watch whilst my friends ate their meals as I was unable to purchase from your menu. Having food allergies I choose my food and approached the bar to order my jacket potato only to be told I couldn’t order that as it only comes as a side . I then decided to order a salad instead and again was told it only came as a side so unable to order . I cannot understand why your kitchen can supply this as a side but not on its own. For someone who has allergies or watching what they eat I find it very disappointing that your menu only caters for customers who choose to eat deep fried, full fat , high carbs food .

Took my mum for a late lunch on her birthday, staff were fantastic. The food was good quality and very reasonably priced.

Food was absolutely amazing nice and hot and didn’t have to wait long. Some great deals on too. Portions are good size defo value for money.

Nine of us went to celebrate my son’s birthday and we all had a wonderful time. The food was great and arrived quickly and the guys serving were incredibly friendly and polite. An all round great experience and we will definitely be going back soon.

Superb food and great service and staff

We got the 2 meals for £12.49 gammon was lovely no fat and plenty off it. My husband got fish and chips and the fish was lovely he said. Even tho my husband said he wanted more chips ha .Staff are great very friendly. Will definitely be returning

Declan was so incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was great and amazing value, 2 for £6 cocktails even on a Saturday was such a lovely surprise. I would highly recommend.

I was served by a lovely bartender named Jonny. He was friendly, helpful and polite. As I was on my own he was more than happy to have a little chat when he wasn't busy serving. The prices are very reasonable too. Will be coming back again for sure.

Came in on burger night for the amazing £5 deal and the Leeds match. The food was smashing and the staff were lovely. Harriet served us with a constant smile on her face, and Karen was also very helpful. Will definitely be coming in again.

Every time we went up to the bar we were served by a young man named Elliot. He was polite, friendly and very helpful each time. My son won a toy in one of their machines but it got stuck so Elliot came round with another £1 coin so he could have another go for his prize. The food was absolutely delicious and amazing portion sizes. We will definitely be coming back.

In the tuesday the 16 of jully went to the pub drink a few beers with colleagues everything allright 5*. Wen went in side to eat almost 40 minutes to the food come to table and cold, even seeing people that come after and make the order after us, eating first ( but that is not the main issue) the issue is the 40 minutes waiting time and cold food.

Had a delicious meal! The server was Harriet, she has the best customer service and made us feel very welcome!!

I went with my bestie to see an ABBA tribute act. Had to purchase tickets in advance. Everything was smashing had a fab time and I will definatley be going again oh and on a plus note they have a really good selection of non alcoholic drinks which as a person that can't have alcohol I found that very refreshing . Would highly recommend 👌

Bar staff are truly and utterly incompetent, stopped off here whilst out with my dog to grab a drink in the sun and as of writing this it's been 15 mins and nobody has come to give me my drink that I've paid for on the app when it's there's not that many people even here! Utterly ridiculous. Avoid.

Food took a long time to come but I was happy with the food

Local pub, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Like their new outside seating area! Went to their quiz night a few weeks ago and the guy running it was dire but tonight they had a new guy from Salford and he was fantastic, clear on rules, stopped people from using their phones, made it fun and included everyone. I am away next week but will be back the week after for def! Worth going folks!

Omg disgusting ordered rump steak when it arrived plate was full of water medium I asked undercooked I wanted to ask where rest of my dinner was as there was so little good job I paid extra for egg which was well done and dry sent it back offered me a drink or pudding said no was refunded but came home ad was starving ordered chinese

Service was fantastic and staff very helpful. Unfortunately we ordered steak which was over cooked the peas looked as though they had been reheated - some nice and green but some dull green colour - onion rings insipid . This could have been just an off day ? The staff are so nice and there is a lovely atmosphere

Edited ..well tried to book for a birthday celebration and didn't have much luck, as it's too far ahead? Disappointed but have booked with another pub. We have eaten here a number of times mostly in a group of four to eight and have never been disappointed. The food has always been lovely and what's more we have all had our food delivered more or less at the same time so we can comfortably eat together. The menu us varied and reasonably priced, we would eat here again. A small note...sometimes it takes a while to get served at the bar

Came in with family for a few drinks and ended up staying for food as others looked so good coming out. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend the burger which was delicious!
