What a great place! Atmosphere 10/10 staff 10/10 and coffees 10/10. Would highly recommend the garden blend smoothie. Big shout out to the manager Tilly who was so kind and helpful and Mollie for making me feel so welcome.

Just want to leave a lovely note on here, so people know where to come for wonderful service and amazing staff who always go out of there way to provide excellent food drinks and above all friendly service. They go above and beyond and even when queues out of the door they still spend time with you and ask how you are and how your doing. Would definitely recommend a visit you won’t be disappointed and will definitely return time and time again and bring your family and friends.😄

Me and my mum went for afternoon tea to celebrate me getting married. We were made to feel welcome and service was 10/10. Highly recommend! The food and drinks were fabulous and loads of little surprises in the presentation of the afternoon tea.

The restaurant only allows dogs outside but staff helpful friendly band food always constant. They offer small or large portions of and the dogs puppachinos. Right on the park

An absolute gem in the middle of a fabulous park! I’ve been coming here most mornings for years. The coffee is good, the staff are personable, the sweet treats are tasty and to top it all I get to enjoy a view of our beloved Roundhay Park every morning!

The staff are fantastic , very polite and very helpful Tilly , the manager has made a massive , positive difference to the cafe , I love visiting and the food is excellent as is the coffee ! There is no where better to sit than on the terrace Watching the world go by when it’s a lovely day . The food , particularly the specials are lovely , freshly made with quality ingredients. Definitely worth a visit !.

Nice enough place with lovely views of the park but it's really resting on its laurels and location. Food is limited standard fare and £4 for a not very good oat milk coffee!? Really? It's cheaper and vastly superior in central London.... (as well as nearby)

Todays staff were smart, courteous, friendly , welcoming , attentive to food intolerances. Quick to serve with a smile and checking if anything else was required. First class in our opinion.

Came for a walk around Roundhay Park though started here at the Garden Room Cafe. Had the Coronation Flatbread and Masala Chips from the specials menu - well and truly satisfied the food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and polite. If I got back in the car now and went home I feel I’d be satisfied for the rest of the day !! 5*

Just popped in for the first time today and was blown away by the outstanding customer service of the very friendly, attentive staff. Thank you, it was lovely! We will definitely be back. Fab hot chocolates, ice cream and pastries.

Staff need a medal for dealing with the general public. I sat at table 10, near the door, where people come in and stand over you and your food. It was very busy and noisy. Waiting staff bumped into my chair a few times. The food was lovely and the tea very good. On a quiet day it would have been a much better experience.

Called in on Sunday morning for a drink and a snack. The location is great and the interior is pleasant but beyond that it was very disappointing. The tea was Yorkshire so was ok, but the (very expensive) hot chocolate was the instant "just add water" type with cheap squirty cream on top. It was so bad my husband didn't drink it. The sausages in my sandwich were cheap and nasty, and again, didn't finish it. The staff were pleasant enough. How this place gets "excellent" ratings on TripAdvisor I don't know. I wouldn't return.

This is a favourite place of ours and we are never disappointed. We came here recently for a family lunch and were well looked after by the staff. The food was excellent and the place was clean and tidy and the food great, in particular the sweet potato wrap and falafel wrap. The only downside is that it’s one of the few restaurants in the area that still doesn’t allow dogs inside despite it being in the middle of a park full of dog walkers. They still come because they like it, but have to sit outside in all weather (some kind of protection from the weather would go down well)

The cafe is a great place to eat and drink. Our food and drinks were served to us with a lovely and friendly smile and made us feel very welcome. Great views of the park from the cafe terrace and good for dog walkers and children.

Been to The Mansion today for Brunch, a very enjoyable experience. The service was great, as usual. Tilley, Jonah and Chloe are professional and very friendly I recommend The Mansion.

I took an elderly friend for a spot of posh lunch but was disappointed. Really gone downhill. Only self service, no waiting service anymore and prices were still high. Had to get our own menus and find our own table. Sandwich was in a bag on a plate even though we ordered from the menu....not happy. It used to be a special treat but not anymore.

Called in for lunch, not been for a while and see that it changed hands a couple of years ago, the change is not for the better, gone is the waiter/customer service that we had previously enjoyed the apparently all male staff were too busy to engage with the customer, a little like a works canteen. THEN THE TILL COMPUTER SYSTEM BROKE! My suggestion that they use a PEN AND PAPER TO WRITE down orders and take CASH using the tip jar money as a float was greeted with a blank stare and then a refusal of the idea on the grounds that it could not be done as everything has to be recorded, I pointed out that they could make late entries once the system re-booted but this was too far fetched for them to contemplate. We left and enjoyed a meal overlooking the lake at the other eatery in the park. We returned later in the afternoon only to find that the cafe had been closed, It was a Saturday and a warm day, I wondered what the boss thought about losing all those customers they could have served if they had used a little common sense. I hope that they will have a back-up strategy in place for the next time the all important computer system fails.

The Garden Room is situated within the mansion in Roundhay Park, so it's quite some setting. It was a lovely sunny day when we visited, so we sat outside. Our cake and drinks were great and the service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

(Some) of the staff at the garden room are fantastic in spite of poor management. Always very friendly and accommodating so I am appalled to learn that the people who make my regular trips to the garden room worthwhile are treated so badly! Several of the best members of staff have been forced out by the (always) rude management. I will find some where else to take my daily coffee. Disgraceful.

Excellent service and food. Went with friends and family to celebrate Eid and had a truly wonderful time. We were worried that we’d overwhelm them as we were a group of over 20 but the staff handled it effortlessly.

We had such a wonderful experience. Oli (Oliver) was so accommodating from the moment he took my call until we left. He made sure everyone of us was satisfied and that was no easy task as we were a very large group. Food was delicious as always accompanied by good coffee and a selection of teas. This is a very pleasant, well staffed and appealing café set in the rolling acres of Roundhay Park, Leeds. You can sit outside or indoors, there's plenty of space, the cakes look great and the coffee is good!

We were refused service for just 2 coffees despite it being within advertised opening hours, by a very unfriendly server who gave her rather whiny reason that they were closing early because they'd been so busy. That's a surprise in itself. She really did have the affect of a person who'd been working down the pit. Righto . I've been here twice recently, the last time wasn't great either and the place was filthy, frankly. Suggest Rand round the corner on Street Lane where staff are polite and welcoming, the coffee is better, the place is clean too.

Young waitress at the till on 24th October 2022, around 3 pm served me with absolute no expression. I ignored her till I saw her converse happily with the following customers. I was not welcome here, that was obvious. I had my 6 year old with me. Not acceptable.

I find this place frustrating. I come once or twice a week as the location is fantastic. I just find the staff so badly trained. Often the tables outside are bursting with dirty cups etc. but when staff come outside to serve they ignore the mess and just go back inside with empty trays. Oblivious to the mess. Why?

I go here regularly after walking in beautiful Roundhay Park around the Upper Lake. I have had excellent service for years. I even held my 70th birthday celebration there, with Afternoon Tea for 25 friends, including children. Good selection of food and drinks and they have updated things because of Covid so you can sit outside and order at the window, from the table with a QR code, or have a table indoors, carefully placed to respect distancing. Highly Recommended!

Sunday morning - 1115 ish / Called in for coffee and hot chocolate- the girl on the till said it would be 5 mins. No problem not in a rush, but 15 mins later still no drinks after asking twice! The table next to us got their food - order was wrong - they were eating but had come in 5 mins after us. Why did they not check the order first time I asked instead of just saying it will be soon. Finally one of the servers looked for my order - couldn’t find it . Eventually asked for a refund. What a shambles - non of original staff - come back James! Just saying all through the last 2 years they’ve managed and before that service was excellent. What’s happening?

Food options not shown for children I had to ask. Only got a child’s cheese sandwich and nothing else on the plate, no salad, crudités or crisps with it. My daughter wanted a child’s fish and chips but they would not do a child’s portion. Panini not that warm and a tiny bit of side salad Did not feel it was value for money and a bit lacking. Came a second time to try thier ledendery Brookie. But they didn't have it. Seeing our disappointment the staff made up a special toasted marshmallow brownie with cookie dough ice-cream which was delicious. Thier chip's are great to. I never leave reviews but I can’t get over how rude the staff were here, especially the woman. During such awful depressing times in lockdown you’d think she’d smile or speak politely to customers. Was shocked at the way I was spoken to on what should have been a lovely trip to the park. Better off going to the Lakeside cafe or Starbucks. Better prices and better coffee and much nicer staff!!

Fui a caminar por Roundhay Park con mi pareja para disfrutar del clima. De manera molesta, tuve que ir al baño rápidamente durante nuestra visita. Desafortunadamente, los baños públicos estaban cerrados, así que tuve que buscar una alternativa y me encontré con este café, así que pensamos que podríamos ir aquí. Mi pareja consiguió una mesa y yo fui a usar el baño antes de decidir qué nos gustaría.Parece que la suerte una vez más no estuvo de mi lado, ya que cuando le pregunté cortésmente a la señora del mostrador si había un baño disponible, me dijeron agresiva y condescendiente que “LOS INODOROS SON PARA CLIENTES, CLIENTES PAGADORES”. Reservé el té de la tarde, pedí mesa junto a la ventana y el gerente me aseguró que esto estaría bien. Al llegar adivinen lo que la mesa de la ventana estaba vacía, con dos mesitas puestas. Fuimos los siguientes: al supervisor no le habría tomado ni un minuto mover una mesa para que pudiéramos tener una mesa en la ventana, incluso con distanciamiento social. El supervisor fue bastante brusco de que no podíamos tener una mesa junto a la ventana y cuando dije que el gerente autorizó esto, respondió: '¡Tendré que hablar con él! ) Llegó el té de la tarde y por 18 cada uno no pensó que fuera mucho. Hemos tenido muchos tés de la tarde, más baratos y mucho mejores. Tal vez haga un viaje a Tong Garden Center para ver lo que ofrecen por menos dinero. Recomendaríamos - probablemente no. Lo siento.

Debería haber escrito una reseña de la Garden Room en The Mansion hace años, ¡este lugar es realmente excelente! Debería comenzar diciendo que soy un visitante habitual. A menudo utilizamos la Garden Room como una parada para tomar café mientras paseábamos por Roundhay Park, pero el año pasado, cuando nació nuestro primer bebé, nos convertimos en visitantes habituales de desayuno y almuerzo. El café, el desayuno y el almuerzo en la sala Garden siempre es excelente. Great welcome, order taken fairly quickly, food arrived freshly cooked and tasting great. Staff came to check we were happy with everything - and we were. There was a very nice and helpful guy called Stephan , apologized for noise from table next to us - absolutely lovely 90th birthday celebration!!

Although parking on a sunny afternoon was a nightmare the setting is worth the effort. The staff were attentive but not busy. My party was there for afternoon tea and sadly it was disappointing. The range of cakes and sandwiches was poor and the quality of ingredients was the same. Overall overpriced.

Four of us went for afternoon tea as a 30th birthday treat for my niece. When we booked we said we wanted a table outside if weather was good but when we arrived we weren't given this option although weather was okay. I suppose the weather is unpredictable so perhaps this is why and we were sat at a very nice window table. It's years since I've been to the mansion as I've moved away from Roundhay and I wasn't sure what to expect. The Garden Room is pleasant and the staff were welcoming however they were not very attentive once the food was served. Nobody came to ask if everything was okay nor were we offered hot water to refill our teapots but eventually we did ask and were brought fresh pots of tea. We were given our very small serving of fizz first and then the cake stands arrived with the food which was nice and consisted of chicken sausage roll and a mini Caesar salad which were both pleasant. The mixed sandwiches were large fingers of tasty bread with good quality fillings and were all lovely and fresh. The scones were tiny and I'm not sure what the reason was for this. I've had many afternoon teas and I've always been served a full sized scone apart from at Bettys where small scones are served however there are two each! The sweets were nice enough and consisted of the usual macaroons (two of us are not fans) and cakes. At £46 for two it's not the cheapest and to be honest I'm not sure it's great value. My niece enjoyed it which is a bonus, the food was good but the service was lacking and I've had better afternoon teas for a lot less. I don't want to put people off as the experience was generally okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend as we all agreed we wouldn't visit again.
