Greatest pub in pools 10/10 danielle always goes above and beyond for everyone in the pub

Went in on a Saturday evening and had the time of my life. Good food good laughs with the bar staff. And amazing atmosphere when the night entertainment started. Danielle especially went above and beyond to make the night a good laugh and made us all fell very welcome.

I absolutely love the wings 'the waitress was very nice BUT we ordered a beer and the glass was dirty(bro get better)

They was 7 people and the food is delicious and Sam the worker who works they brilliant service very good at her job but thank you definitely be back x

Amazing friendly pub. Was served by a young blonde girl think her name was Hollie and also served by Maria. Very welcoming and chatty.

It was really busy yesterday 15/3/25, but still the service was quick and impeccable. It was me, my adult son and my granddaughter. My granddaughter had the childs pasta, corn on the cob and garlic bread, she ate every bit, my son had chicken burger and chips, very nice and I had the gammon on a skillet. I can honestly say it was the nicest piece of gammon that I have had in a long time. First class food, first class service and very reasonable price. Highly recommended

Me and my dad run the darts ADC vaults out of the there. Fantastic venue for it. Really spacious and set up well. It wouldn’t be possible without the massive help from manager Dan and supervisor Sam. Great food great beer and great atmosphere. So good we are setting up an acredited JDC darts academy out for there (st Mary’s darts academy)

Sam looked after our table all day.sp accommodating.. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb family pub. Lush food and drink. Thank you.xx

Excellent pub, very spacious with a fantastic atmosphere! Great prices and you will have a really nice night here :) We had burgers and some hot Carolina chicken wings with some a few beers each!!

Came in for a valentines meal today. Because we had booked the team has set our table out with a gold cloth and a rose flower in a vase in the centre. Lovely little touch. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and Sam I believe her name was, was very attentive.

Sam and Maria made our event very special I would highly recommend using the travelers rest for any function

Came for food yesterday with my mam and dad, Maria 1 and Maria 2 were our servers and they were brilliant really attentive. Danielle and Sophie the chefs made our food my mam asked for the burger to be patted and Sophie was happy to do so. Thank you for a lovely afternoon

Visited here for lunch today 5 🌟 service food was excellent my wife had a burger and ask if it could be patted down to remove the excess oils and Sophie was more than happy to do this for me lol Danielle, Maria 1 and Maria 2 could not have done anything more than whT they already did would highly recommend a visit definitely service with a smile 😀

We arrived quite late on News Years Eve to order food with the kids. Staff were friendly and helpful despite being busy setting up the News Years Eve party. We come here around once a month and the food is always great!

Well what a lovely pub this is. The food is great. The staff are great. Big thankyou to all of the staff that work there yous made my family's day very pleasant. Big shout out to Danielle the manager. I would highly recommend this pub. I will be going back in a blast

Xxxmas burger was out of this world - meat was soooo meaty. Tikka tandoori sizzler was great. Honey chilli dip with the starter was great - Sam and Maria great service

A chain pub but does stand on it's own merit. Had mid-afternoon Sunday vist, busy but crowded. Food cooked well and steaks cooked correctly as ordered, med rare, and nice cuts of meat. Beers served well and good quality with a good range including low/zero alcohol available. Value for money

we went this afternoon for lunch. We were met with a lovely smiling bar staff'very polite. service was very good ,very friendly chilled atmosphere food was really nice,opted for a sirloin steak chips and peas ona skillet with onions and extra onion rings and peppercorn sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly rare to medium by Kaitlynn the chef for the day(thanks..). would recommend the travellers rest nice food friendly staff and value for money. Washed down with a nice cold pint of coors...

The woman serving at the bar during tea time on 21st October, Customer service skills we're diabolical so rude and stand offish, felt.like you were putting her out to do her job absolutely disgusting.

Very good, specially for pub food, the burger was spot on and great fries. Will definitely be back again.

Great local pub, good all round to be honest and me and my family go here often, It has a seated sheltered outside area with very large TV and good sound system, it's also got heaters for winter months, outside there is also a large beer garden with traditional picnic style benches, all outdoor areas accommodate for food too. All it's missing in my opinion is a children's play area, then it would be the full package, hence only 4 star review .

We had a wonderful time at the travelers rest, I had the large Mixed Grill which I have to say was extremely good for the price and size and can honestly say it's the best I've had 10 out 10 easily, the rest of the family had Burger meal, small mixed grill and a Chicken mix dish which they all enjoyed too ,we Highly recommend this and will be returning soon many thanks The Hendy family

It's a Flaming Grill Pub, not a out in the sticks home cooked food place. You know what to expect before you order. Staff very friendly and good atmosphere.

Went to the travellers rest in Hartlepool to try the new menu. It was beautiful, had the chicken flatbread and my partner a mixed grill. Good was lovely, served in quick time and the staff were really friendly. Got served by Megan...she always gives great service and always with a smile. Deffo return and food and served always fab

Great food and a great atmosphere on a weekend. Staff are amazing especially Megan who always goes above and beyond to cater for our large family gatherings.

Had the lamb kofta flatbread, kid had southern fried chicken burger, was really nice food, quick service and with sports on.

It's just been awarded Kitchen Of Excellence so you know the food is tip top !!!

Great family pub, good grub,with a good choice of beers and lagers,also sells wine and none alcoholic drinks. This pub has improved immensely in the past two years.

Didn't have what we wanted on the menu. Service not good as there was only one serving. Food was poor and not hot.

We come yesterday for lunch fir our anniversary. Food was lovely. Good atmosphere and waitresses always checking everything was OK I'm sure if there was a problem they would have sorted it straight away it cost us 47 for 2 mains 2 puddings and 5 drinks which I think is very reasonably priced. Enjoyed our meal and will be coming again . Didn't have to ring and book in like most places we were able to walk in take a seat and order which was nice as if u want a surprise meal or a hour out you don't need to pre plan.. my partner has the xl mixed grill and I had gammon would recommend.

Came in with my dad and children for a mid afternoon meal. We chose this place as it allows dogs in. We ordered the BOGOF burgers and two XL mixed grills. We have eaten at many establishments however we both agree this was by far the best steak we have ever had. It was cooked to perfection, plenty of food and excellent quality. Plus the kids enjoyed theirs too. Only down side is the very noisy slushy machine lol. We will definitely be coming back here. Thank you.

Stopped in, as part of a coach load of Halifax fans, on the way to the football. Nice big pub, half of it was closed off for us. Projector and decent size TV showing the early football match. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Would deffo stop there again next time we're playing Hartlepool

Really shocked at this place went to funeral here on 7/3/2024, the staff were shocking talking about people over the lack of tea they supplied, 20 cups were catered for but more than expected turned up, the staff started to charge a £1 for a cup with nothing in but hot water ran out took 40 mins and multiple complaints before more hot water was supplied, my issue was I get not enough was paid for. Firstly to charge £1 for empty cup and secondly to talk about customer behind there back behind bar when people could clearly here was disgusting at a funeral at that, there was a lot of money spent on alcoholic drinks and soft drinks especially when on a typical Thursday the place is empty id never have expected the greed of a pub like this we were truly shocked and on such a sad day to make it even worse is unforgivable, lesson learnt won’t book this place or even come for food god only those what the family felt about this despicable, well done Suzanne for the brilliant welcome NOT as you can also see by my review I take this seriously and very very rare do I leave reviews like this it upset me to have to do this but people have the right to know the truth, also the pub was empty only guess there was ourselves and sorry 2 family’s having. Meal in other room so the wait shouldn’t have been this long at all and staff talking crap about guess I’d unacceptable, the family were happy as this was kept away from them they were grieving enough without this kinda stuff to deal with in the day there no excuse suzanna you should be able to trust and leave your team in your absence and trust they will look after the pub and customers as you would expect

08/02/2024 we came for my sons 8th birthday, they accomodated 18 of us instantly, great food, desserts and drinks. Maria, the barmaid, was incredibly hospitable and had taken care of all our needs, lovely woman. Will be back for more family events. Thank you! XXXXX

Love going to this pub food good and premises nice and clean wether it's a dinner or a steak never been disappointed the staff are lovely and efficient we have being going for years would recommend it all

A group of were in the travs on Friday prices r ridiculous compared to other pubs in the area Toilets absolutely stink the smell takes your breath away & stings your eyes

Absolutely gone down hill my food was cold when it came.

Me , daughter and dad had Xmas dinner on Xmas day at 2 pm. Staff/ management were so understanding as we lost my mam a few weeks before Xmas, and we had booked her place with us. Everything was on time, food was hot, tasty and yummy. 😁 The atmosphere was great, and the staff worked very hard ( especially the girl serving us , Megan I think they called her, big white bow in her hair. All being well, we'll be back next year. Massive well done travellers rest.

Good service, just didn't have the first item we requested on the menu ( it was a sharer option, but we did end up getting almost the same thing, but had to pay a bit more to get it individually each). The food quality was good & the waiting time for it wasn't bad either. Overall, we quite enjoyed it.

The food was really good, it's a very lively pub if that's what you're into, for me it was a bit too loud. You have to queue along the bar to get served, which I found a bit strange, but it works. I was served by a moody lady who was a bit sharp, but all in all, it was good, and we all enjoyed it.

Won a voucher for £20 at a recent village fete , I had a mixed grill and a pint of lager. Food very good, I ate the lot. I went Wednesday afternoon very quiet.

Great pub for a quick bite to eat and to watch the sport. TVs everywhere you look and a huge one outside too. Great selection of beers and spirits, always something to suit everyone’s tastes. Same with the menu, large and covers all bases - I had the sausage flatbread today and it was gorgeous!

Food was very good. I did previously leave 4 stars and since my experience yesterday with staff members I have decided to now leave a 5th star... only advice I would give is the menus are sticky and parts of the table are too- however you can tell they are wiped down but not all edges are fully wiped. Lovely women who worked there offered to get us a drink while we where eating to save us having to get up. We didn't reserve a table but there is an option too... food was lovely, typical pub grub and i like the choice of picking 2 styles of chicken from the chicken mix up menu... other places in hartlepool only offer one - Although I do think they should add tortilla wraps to a "side" for the chicken mix up menu. Otherwise great experience and would return for a 3rd time 😆🌞

Ordered Sunday lunch, I opted for chicken fillets, which was like rubber, so I didn't eat it. Roasties were frozen, but over cooked, potato was smash. Only thing nice was cauliflower. But I suppose you get what you pay for and at £7.95 a head you can't expect much better. I tried it, but it's not for me.

Nice place. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere was good. Good selection of beer and they have a very handy powerbank rental. Sports bar looks good, but I didn't drink in that bit. Recommended.

Had a Funeral reception here after my mam's cremation .While the food laid on wasn,t the best , ( hot food could have been kept hotter ) the staff bent over backwards to keep us happy . My Dad and me did see the Room 3 or 4 days before the event and both agreed it was what we wanted . WE made the mistake of miscalculating how many people would turn up ( We allowed for 50 and 24/25 arrived ) at the end of the reception the Staff plated the remaining food up and we all could take it away with us . I have never been in a position of organising anything like this , but found the charge per head to be very reasonable . As for my Dad feeling Ripped off ,Having actually spoken to him he does NOT !
