After visiting the cemetery and Whitehall Park, a convenient and convivial coffee and tasty bacon barm, served with a smile. Good quality, good value, and good service. Easily reached by the frequent Route 1 Bolton-Darwen-Blackburn buses. A bonus is the adjacent preserved reversing triangle of the 1881 Blackburn & Over Darwen Tramway, first steam-powered street tramway in the UK.

The service is amazing, the staff are very thoughtful and the food is affordable and delicious, I recommend the steak Canadian 😁

Hands down our favourite breakfast place! Shame the prices have gone up but I know that’s not entirely down to tramway. My toddler loves the spam butties and we love the sausage and bacon batons.

Always visit this gem of a cafe when I'm in the area fantastic breakfast and friendly helpful staff I would highly recommend 👌

Could not pick the sandwich up because that much tomato juice was in it I had to get knife and fork then on trying it, it was disgusting like soggy uncooked dough, the mushrooms were boiled instead of fried and I don’t think the spam saw the pan. Will never order from here again.

Arrived hot, good quality food, decent size portion. And the delivery box was brilliant! Tomatoes and beans separated to stop everything getting soggy.

Staff are really warming and generous it’s a really clean building and foods 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend

Visiting Clayton la mores yesterday with the freemasons and approximately 17 of us had breakfast yesterday and the breakfast was amazing, much better than what we get 118 miles away where I live , hope to get back up soon for the freemasons breakfast club , friendly statt and delicious food , please thank your staff for the hospitality

As a non local I found the place a bit depressing. Hot chocolate was probably bought at a cheapo supermarket, nothing like a milky drink it should be. People were friendly enough, some music playing and the place was clean.

Visited Tramway Cafe yesterday for a bacon & hash brown barm, £4 & the barm had one slice of stone cold fatty bacon on it, I mean come on!

very nice. hot and tasty. only thing I would say is watch the egg yolk causing the roll to stick to the foil. makes it much harder to eat. apart from that it was fab thank you

Visited The Tramway Cafe that is now under new management - had a lovely full English breakfast and a brew! Really decent bacon and sausages, and nice runny yokes on my eggs too! Food was piping hot, literally can’t fault anything! Lovely clean cafe, will be back for sure!! Thanks again guys :)

Just had small breakfast for my brunch daughter had pie chips and gravy take out of bacon and egg teacake fantastic little cafe 5 mins walk from my home great service polite and attentive staff very clean cheap and reasonable prices on menu a must for anyone walking up that way

The food is still just as amazing as ever even with all the COVID measures in place. Staff are so friendly. Have eaten in and had take out since reopening after the pandemic lockdown. Would definitely recommend.

Used to go in here occasionally before lockdown and have been in approx 3 times since they were allowed to re-open. Food and drinks very good, reasonable prices. Dining in - tables well spaced out in accordance with guidelines and the cafe is always clean. Would recommend a visit.

Love this place! Called at lunchtime with the family 3 of us had a small breakfast and 2 had toastier. Food really good,friendly staff who are very down to earth and we had such a laugh! Prices are really reasonable and it’s a lovely little place worth a visit!

I visited a few weeks ago with a friend while out creating a charity walk to be undertaken toward the end of August 2019. Over many years I have visited hundreds of cafes and tea rooms all over the country and have to comment that this was one of the best breakfasts I have eaten in some considerable time. The quality of the ingredients was first class and I noted from the menu that they source local ingredients and it shows. The little details like good placement of items on the plate, butter portions with your toast, really decent coffee and guide and local interest books/leaflets on the side all show care and attention to detail. The staff are all really friendly and attentive and although not a large cafe there was a constant throng of activity both from those stopping to eat and others calling in to order items to take away always a good sign. I am really looking forward to visiting again shortly and enjoying another fabulous breakfast in a really lovely little cafe.

First visit here for us but my parents have been several times before and recommend we pay a visit! Lovely friendly staff, spacious place,good atmosphere,staff couldn’t do enough for you and asked if you needed anything else. We had the small breakfast which was amazing,the sausages were really tasty although my egg was slightly overdone but I’m not bothered as the whole breakfast and service was really good! Definitely worth a visit and we will be back again!!!

Without doubt the best cafe in darwen, excellent choice of food with a fresh taste. Staff are great and nice to talk to. Refreshing feel within the cafe. Keep up the good work along with the great tasting food.

A newly opened cafe, of a higher standard than any other cafes in Darwen. The decor, tables and settings start off the good atmosphere. Staff are very friendly; service with a smile and a laugh. The basic food products are of a higher standard than most local cafes and cooked to order. This makes a world of difference. You don't mind waiting a little longer for good, home cooked food. Dog friendly. Do dog treats too. Support charities at special times of the year also. Well worth a visit, would recommend for all.

This is a real gem of a cafe, all cooked fresh and tastes amazing. Don't get to it enough as at other end of town but is my place of choice for breakfast out.

We have been here a couple of times and both times we have had fantastic friendly service, and the food (especially the brekkie lol) has been brilliant, all freshly cooked and piping hot. Definitely worth a visit, we should be supporting the small businesses in our area.

The Tramway Cafe has been my goto breakfast for a while now. Not only because the food is great, but the owner and staff are just so polite, welcoming, and friendly.

This place is the best around a wonderful breakfast or lunch is truly amazing and the staff can’t do enough for you , always a friendly welcome and nothing is ever to much trouble , call in and enjoy wonderful food in such a clean warm environment

Great little cafe, the menu consists of breakfasts,toasties, wraps, sandwiches etc eat in or takeaway , infact we go here alot and nothing is to much trouble for Becky the owner and all her wonderful staff, it’s a lovely atmosphere we love it.

Whether popping in for a coffee, or a meal, the Tramway Café has always met my expectations. I've had a couple of meals there, and coffees and hot chocolate (fully loaded is always appreciated by my grandchildren) are very good. Small café always tidy, seating not too close to other tables and friendly staff.

Absolute gem of a place. Welcome dogs in and really spoil them. I went in with my little dog a few times a week in the run up to having to get him pts because of cancer. The girls didn’t know he was ill but they treated him like a king; cutting up his food, giving him fresh water, checking on him and fussing over him :) They made his last few days special

Went in on Saturday with my partner and two kids. The breakfasts are one of the best in Darwen absolutely loved it. My little boy also loved him s toastie, will definitely be visiting again xx

I call it every Friday for my breakfast. The quality and selection of food is excellent. The staff very accommodating and friendly. The BLT one of my fave as is a pasta salad. Great portions, atmosphere and excellent fresh food X highly recommend

Would definitely recommend this cafe! You can eat in or takeaway. The staff are very friendly and don’t keep you waiting especially when taking out. I recommend the sausages they are excellent quality and my favourite is the cheese and caramelised onion toastie with salad!!!! My daughter loves the hot chocolates laden with cream and marshmallows. The cafe is cosy and well worth a visit

Me and my family went for lunch! All I can say is wow! The foods to die for and the service is amazing! Even our fussy 1 year old and 4 year old loved it! Can't wait to go back! Excellent value for money too!

Just everything about the cafe is lovely, it’s cosy, warm, great atmosphere, plenty of choice. The food is so good, I haven’t had one bad meal. The girls are so lovely, can’t do enough for you. I love the selection of cakes, the chocolate cake is my favourite!

Food is always spot on and freshly made. In a perfect location with lovely history inside and out. Wonderful staff and dog friendly too which is always a bonus ♥️ If you live local or not, I would definitely recommend breakfast and dinner at this perfect little cafe.

This lovely little cafe is tucked away in what was once the terminus building of Darwen's tramway. In fact the remnants of the tram lines and the cobbled road are just by the side of the cafe. This is a straight forward, good food cafe. The local staff are pleasant, helpful and cheerful. The food is freshly cooked and reasonably priced. What's not to like. A good stop off for cyclists and bikers.
