superb place friendly helpful staff would recommend very tasty just had Mongolian meat balls with half & half chips and rice the better half had salmon veg and chips will definitely be returning

We’ve visited the greenfield on several occasions for something to eat. The food is of a high quality good English grub cooked by Angela . The service is excellent and well run by Louise and Barry and her staff are a credit to her, very helpful. I would recommend visiting here if you want some not too costly good food Vicky

My favourite place to go in darwen... me and my family (including my 4 year old) love eating at the greenfield. It’s so relaxed, food is excellent, home cooked and exceptionally fresh. Every time we’ve eaten here has been brilliant. Infact my in laws from 30 miles away insist on eating here each time they visit. The pub and restaurant has a warm Lancashire welcome and I cannot fault it!

Visited this bar/ restaurant on many occasions, The bar is a lovely welcoming place, and then upstairs is a "gem" for eating, you arnt tied to dine upstairs the staff ate happy to accommodate if you want to dine in the bar, my family and myself have tried everything from an early doors full English, snacks, to the early evening menu, and weve never been disappointed, well worth checking out 👍

Been here many times now over the last few months since realising how delicious and great value the food is. The cheese and onion pie is the best I’ve ever tasted!! Really child friendly too. Always a warm friendly atmosphere with a great log burning fire for those cold days and nights. Would recommend to anyone as the menu has a little something for all tastes and always at least one vegetarian option for the specials, keep up the good work guys !!

Lovely meal, cooked fresh and the service was spot on, the pub downstairs was also really good with friendly staff. Unfortunately probably won’t be back as we aren’t local - but really a must visit.

There's plenty of programs and clubs that your child can do. Like Drama, Track and Field, etc. Teachers are not very strict but are serious about their students learning. Very clean, has a playground, just a very good environment in general.

Super food & good value on our first visit to Greenfield. Good service and a good choice of dishes on the menu and all reasonably priced. The service was excellent and our chosen dishes were great. Wouk day definitely visit again.

Great food and excellent service. All staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. It was a pre-booked meal and our choices ordered on booking. Food was ready as we arrived. Have also had several meals here and always delicious.

Had the giant Yorkshire Pudding with Chicken Peppercorn Sauce. This is my second visit for the giant Yorkshire first was Steak and Ale both superb. I needed chips with mine as I am greedy. My partner has had the Chilli Con Carne and the Cumberland Sausage Yorkies and enjoyed both.

In a very different concept the food offering is all upstairs ( although you can still dine below if you want)

Called on a Wednesday lunch with a friend at 12.30. Quiet but friendly bar staff. We both very much enjoyed our food. I had to wait for my cannelloni to cool down. Big portion with salad and chips. Two main meals for £15 really good value for quality food. First time visit. Would go again.

18 of us went to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday the food was delicious Sunday roast amazing, excellent value for Mum. Nothing too much trouble very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be back Again.

Came to eat on Thursday 10th October with family. Service is impeccable, staff are absolutely lovely and the food is beautiful! Eaten here a few times now and never had a bad experience, the homemade tomato soup is one of our family favourites and the steak was cooked to perfection! One of the only places in Darwen where we will keep going back time and time again. Thank you!

It’s was my mums birthday today and she is no longer with us so we go out as a family to Mark the occasion. We went to the greenfield inn after hearing from others that it’s was decent. We arrived and were welcomed by the extremely friendly landlady which was great we ordered our food and drinks and again the landlady went out of her way to accommodate myself and my dad and sister with little extra we asked for doing all of which with a great big smile on her face. The food arrived and was excellent and every mouthful was enjoyed by me and my family. I went to pay and was extremely surprised by the total bill it was extremely good value for money and we have no hesitation in agreeing that we will definitely be going back to the greenfield very soon! Thankyou for making this day a pleasant one for us!

I give it 5-stars b/c Lil Uzi Vert went here and played the trumpet, said it was the best school he went to...

The teachers are strict about education and it's a fun school and they teach you math that you were supposed to be teached ahead of time.

Popped in with my family as I had heard great things about the food and drinks. It's Amazing on both counts. I had the steak pie with chips and it was a melt in the mouth experience. Washed down with a Copper Dragon Golden Pippin it got better. Very friendly Staff and an attentive Landlady. 10/10 Highley recommended.

Excellent pub nice selection of beers clean and tidy. I had steak pud in the rag full of steak no corners cut hear my wife had chicken tikka we finished of with coffee left full and satisfied thank you.

Went for a meal with my wife & friends. We had starters & enjoyed that & quite promptly after, the main course was served, piping hot.

Heard so much about this cosy, friendly local pub that is tucked away from the town centre. Had lunch on our 1st visit. Cannot fault anything. The welcome when you arrive is very warm and friendly, just like the setting of the pub/restaurant.

We had a table of 18 all eating 3 courses of amazing home cooked food. I had food envy from every plate! Every one was served quickly and enjoyed their meal. Staff were friendly and very helpful kindly allowing us to cut the birthday cake at the table and distribute! A warm, friendly pub serving honest delicious food at a great price! We will be back! I have been putting off Greenfield inn. Last visit was disappointing it has sold. Started out good service but halfway she seemed to drop us.very disappointing for a $400 check for 2 people. Food was very good no complaints. Band was a very nice feature. Music was great.

Good honest home cooked food the cheese onion pie is recommended it's as it says not made cheaper by filling with potato my wife had the soup with a roll very large portion will definitely be returning

Visited the greenfield for tea and breakfast now, enjoyed it and will definitely return. Lovely home made food, nice and clean breakfast. Coffee is a winner. Nice to have in the area! If passing and feel hungry, pop in, downstairs it is nice cosy pub with open fires, and upstairs a nice clean modern looking restaurant. Best thing is, can eat in the pub too!

5* it’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed Angela and Louise’s fab food and drinks...just what Darwen has been missing. The food today was amazing, good home cooked food, reasonable prices and gets the approval of my fussy 10 & 14 year olds!! Apparently your roast beef is better than mine x x

Had lunch today with the hubby , food was amazing and lots to choose from on the menu . All home cooked food and generous portions, cant wait to go again for Thursday steak night and a bottle of wine . The restaurant is lovely bright and modern and the staff are lovely .After your meal you have the option to go for drinks in the bar down stairs that has the traditional country pub feel . 5* from me . Came for lunch with my sister and our children, I had Thai green curry and my sister had chicken & leek pie, the kids had chicken fillet strips.

Went for a Sunday Lunch with family as we used to be regular visitors to the Red Lion. and we werent dissapointed to find the same great welcome and excellent home cooked food. Portions are perfectly sized and I greedily went for the three course option and each was really great, starter was really tasty , sunday roast had a mountain of lamb and my cheesecake was also very good . All six of us had various different options from the menu and all of us really enjoyed every course. The final great surprise was the bill, absolutley brilliant value for money Looking forward to returning to try the standard menu one night.

Used to visit The Greenfield many years ago, so following its recent refurbishment decided to revisit. There is a choice of eating in the pub or the restaurant upstairs. We chose the restaurant. I had mushroom and pepper stroganoff which was lovely, my daughter had steak and mushroom pie which she reported as being very nice too. The service was excellent. Unfortunately on the day we visited, for most of our visit, there was no one else dining in the restaurant. This made for an obvious lack of atmosphere, however I realise that this would be different had other diners been there. Following its recent refurbishment, I found the decor to be a little confused. Not sure if it’s trying to represent a contemporary restaurant style or a workplace cafeteria. That said, based on the food we had and the other options on the menu, I will definitely go back again.

Have tried breakfast and evening meal and have enjoyed both experiences. Looking forward to trying sunday lunch in the near future. B and B Henderson

Went for Sunday tea with my hubby. This local gem of a pub restaurant has a friendly atmosphere with very helpful friendly staff. We both had the Sunday roast which was served piping hot and very plentiful. But the icing on the cake was the sherry trifle which evoked wonderful memories of childhood just like mum used to make. If you're looking for good homemade food in a light bright family friendly atmosphere the Greenfield arms is definitely the place to go.

Stopped by with the kids after a walk up jack keys lodge, the food is delicious full of flavour, very friendly staff and quick service, would definitely recommend for anyone as its suitable for all ages 😁😋

We came in for a spot of lunch. Bar staff friendly, friendly atmosphere and food was tasty. I had scampi and the wife had gammon. Very nice food. Would highly recommend.

We have occasionally visited the pub which is always a friendly and welcoming place for a pint. After reading about the opening of a restaurant in the local press, we decided to give it a try for lunch.

Me and the Mrs went yesterday both had the cheese pie, cannot fault anything! Very reasonable price! Definitely recommend to anyone! Going back now for the breakfast. Happy days.

Which wasn't a problem for the staff.

I recently visited my home town to see family, I'd heard that the Greenfield had opened a restaurant upstairs so with a little investigation I was absolutely delighted to find out that Louise and Angela were running this. A few texts later and I'd ended up booking a table for 11! We arrived and got a drink in the fantastic downstairs bar and where then seated very promptly! After a chat through the menu with Louise we placed our order, albeit a very awkward order as everyone wanted some variation on the menu, this was no problem at all for them and our food arrived promptly, all together and all right which amazed me as we'd been a bit of a pain! Lol The food was next level, the only way I can describe it was it was like my nan was running a really great restaurant, honest home cooked and absolutely delicious! All 11 of us loved it, the rest of the family are already planning their next visit and I'm a little jealous! What was supposed to be a family meal at 6:30 on a Saturday night turned in to us making our way back down to the bar and still being there for last orders! The staff can't do enough for you. This little hidden treasure up on the hill is a must visit for all the people of Darwen and those passing through, I promise you will not be disappointed! Great little pub with fantastic food at a great price. Friendly staff, dog friendly & great food either in pub or at first floor in the fancy restaurant! Home made food and a homely feel with open fires!

Thought we would give this place a try for Lunch and were very impressed. Friendly welcome on arrival and prompt service at the bar. Menu gave us a difficult decision as all choices sounded delicious and we were not disappointed. Three clean plates (good sized portions) and all complimenting the food and value for money means we are going back again this week for my sons birthday.

Honest pub grub, reasonable price washed down with good beer. Due to mobility unfortunately unable to get upstairs to newly developed restaurant. However able to eat comfortably down stairs Food served timely. More than enough, good quality and served with a smile. My personal gripe is sachets for condiments. Personally hate them but cant mark down for this. Anyone who visits must try the Cheese and Onion Pie. Yum just like my Nan used to make.

Excellent food. I would recommend steak pudding and the syrup sponge and custard. We went as a family and we all enjoyed our meals. Staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Reasonably priced too.

My partner and I visited for dinner. We were greeted on arrival by Louise and her mum. For starters my partner had the Fried brie and cranberry. I had Squid with sweet chilli dip. Main courses were a lasagne and a Steak rag pudding both meals were superb. My only complaint is there was no room left for pudding. Superb thank you.

A half term treat for me and my son, will definitely be back. Full English was adapted for my fussy boy with no issues, he ate every last bit! Stroganoff was so creamy and tasty with rice so fluffy I could've slept on it! Very reasonable price for lovely home cooked food and excellent service.

Just had a lovely meal. The steak and mushroom pie was absolutely delicious as was the hubbies rag steak pudding. My son was particularly impressed with the greenfield special ice cream. All served by lovely welcoming staff. We will definatly be back soon.

The upstairs restaurant section is brand new and immaculate. The staff are friendly and serve with a smile. There's a good choice of beers, wines and spirits. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Can't ask for more.

I visited today with some friends today to sample the new menu and it was fantastic. Everything from the service to the food and atmosphere was amazing and I will be back with more friends as soon as I can!

I went to this school from 1972 to 1979. However it wasn't like public schools are today.

Will be pulling my child. I am so tired of their constant political viewpoints being shoved down my child throat.

Apparently a school lacking in ethics and code of conduct. Their focus seems to be political indoctrination rather than education as evidenced by the political signage on their doors.
