Great location to town and the train station. Decent room although the door handle to the room was broken (room 115) still useable and locked ok but didn't fill me with confidence while travelling alone. I didn't bother with breakfast as the receptionist mentioned on checking in that I should take a look before paying for it 🤣 so maybe that could be improved so the staff can at least recommend it. The music is loud but luckily I was coming in late when the music was winding down ( around 3am) Im glad check out wasn't untill 11am. It was a pleasant stay but I wouldn't stay here again unfortunately

Not worth the money we paid I am afraid to say. We did report on the first night and the manager was going to get back to us but we didn't hear from him. It is in a great location and maybe the double rooms would be better.

Booked for a night after NEC. Basically a self serve B & B. Once through doors to hotel part it’s very rundown and not clean.the room was basic, run down, damp plaster etc.. very noisy from traffic. Breakfast is NOT continental. Packets of cereal and bread to toast. Pre packed croissants and muffins. Just strawberry jam. All drinks are sachets, nothing fresh except jugs of juice. Sadly the area is run down now too. Little choice for food. Decent pub a short walk with a nice pint.

Stayed here twice now. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. Should be priced more then they are. I've paid more for alot worse lol. Staff are friendly and have good banter if that's what you give them. Rooms are beautiful. Set well. Clean and spacious. I love coming here and this is going to me my regular hotel. Keep up the good work. And keep the bar staff as they are amazing. 😊

Shocking bouncers. Came to the nightclub with a group of friends for one of their birthdays, and they all got let in. Me and my friend were the last two, and the bouncer said we weren’t allowed as we were under 21 (im 18 and she’s 20), i was polite and asked why, as he had just let in MULTIPLE of my friends that were under 21, some of them were 19. He was rude and couldn’t give me a reason, saying to get out the queue and leave. I was being polite yet he wouldn’t let us in for absolutely no reason even after i said all my friends were there for her birthday and most of them were under 21. The one friend even had a sash on that said “20 TODAY” 🤣🤣🤣 just miserable and rude for no reason, and ruined the night by leaving me and my friend alone outside for no reason at all.

We had a small wedding reception at The Assembly Hall private function room at The Townhouse and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were incredible, a special shout out to Paoula who organised everything so well and was always super quick to respond to my emails! We had so many compliments on the food, it was beyond our expectations and they were able to cater for all of the different dietary requirements. Would really recommend to anyone who is looking to plan a party/function!

Stayed for one night for an event at Boldmere Football Club. Arrived around 10pm, bar was quiet and staff arrived from in there to check us in. We had paid for parking in the on site car park as it was unclear that residents couldn't park free and there were lots of pay and display signs up. Keys and directions to our room were quickly provided. Breakfast wasn't mentioned by the receptionist, though a card in the room indicated that we should pre order and that it would be continental only. We had breakfast elsewhere. The room was pleasantly decorated and clean. The windows are old and did not close which made the road noise very apparent, but we coped for one night. Although clean, the beds had old lumpy mattresses and cheap thin pillows so it wasn't the comfiest night's sleep. Better mattresses and pillows would make a huge difference. The bedside lights did not work as the switch was broken. We didn't go into the rest of the bar, but it looks pleasantly stylish.

I booked my room last minute and actually got a room that was a level better than the one I paid for (always fun to get a free upgrade). The location was perfect for an event in town and there is lots nearby within walking distance, including the train station. Room had tea and coffee, as well as a hairdryer. Bathroom was nice and had a bathtub. My only note is that the noise they mention on the weekends is no joke. This is not a complaint, as they do warn about it, but I didn’t imagine how my bed would vibrate from the bass of the music. It is very loud. I did manage to fall asleep with my noise cancelling headphones in, but for lighter sleepers definitely expect to be up during the hours of nightclub operation (it got loud around 11:15 but I believe was done around 2? I was asleep so I’m not certain). Staff was absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful.

So sorry i had to move less than a meter so someone could get served at the bar and block the view of the bouncer watching the Fury v Isyk fight to be ordered to stand somewhere else. Is that part of the job description?

Expensive especially for a soft drink. Needs a lick of paint in middle room by the stage. One of ladies toilet moves. Shame

I recently booked the function room at The Townhouse for my Mothers 60th birthday. I don't often write reviews, but I felt I needed to write a review on this occasion as a way of thanking the staff at the Townhouse. From the beginning, my enquiries were answered promptly and helpfully. When evaluating the venue I dropped in to chat to Paoula the Hotel Manager and I was introduced to their Head Chef. We agreed on a fantastic canape menu and Paoula listened to and noted all of our requirements. On the day of the party the team helped us set up, gave us full access to the lighting and sound system, helped us store the birthday cake and even played a part in getting the birthday girl to the room without giving away the surprise! The room has its own bar and we were provided with dedicated bar staff for the entirety of the party. The food was excellent, well presented and on time. There was more than enough for all guests and the team ensured that used plates, etc were cleared away quickly. Paoula and the Head Chef both kept in touch throughout the party to ensure everything was going well, all of our guests had a fantastic time. If you're looking for a venue to host a birthday or similar event, The Townhouse is an excellent choice. Thanks Paoula and the team for a great job.

Very clean rooms, linens etc. Rooms have all amenities you need except for a fridge and microwave. Staff friendly and always helpful. You can get a room away from the disco noise at weekends. Not luxurious, but the best location. 3 minutes walk from station, and a couple of minutes walk into Sutton and the shops, restaurants and cafes. Pleasant, safe walking area. 5 mins walk to Sutton Park. Well priced, and highly recommended if you don’t need luxury.

The Indian Streatery Express is a really nice place for having Indian street food (chaat). The Indian dishes we ordered were super delicious along with a cup of Indian masala tea. I was so craving for the Indian chaat and when I had it; it was just like I had in India. The wrap was quite filling. Samosa was nicely balanced with spices and flavours with dips. Overall, a great place to have Indian chaat. Highly recommended!
