The Town Crier in Cheshire West and Chester

Stopped in for breakfast. I don’t eat sausage so requested just bacon I had a bad feeling as soon as the girl said they won’t normally change things! As it was quiet they may accommodate me. So it arrived without sausage and 1 tiny piece of bacon no extra I mean 2 tiny pieces would have been acceptable! Hash browns nice and crispy but my egg was as hard as a bullet. All in all a lot of money for not a lot of breakfast…won’t be back! The server Lucy though was very friendly and nice.

Pub was quiet but everyone seem to be waiting to be served when we eventually did the server seemed to want an argument of what drinks we had ordered and they had no wine glasses so served in coke glasses - we were there for a few drinks but moved on after 1 !

We were staying across the road at the Queen at Chester hotel and popped in for a drink. After looking at the menu, decided to eat here. We got really good advice from the barman Luke, who pointed out their beer and burger offer. It was a different IPA from the one we were drinking ,but equally as good and saved us money. We enjoyed the meal so much, we ate there the following night and had another excellent meal. Luke was extremely friendly and he also dealt with someone smoking in the no smoking area with tact, pointing out the area he could smoke. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with some under cover.

Decent range of vegetarian and vegan options. The Coconut Thai Vegetable curry is really tasty. Great service from the staff 10/10.

After being told to use the app we then searched for a table that had a full number on to actually order food. Ordered via the app it took the money but no confirmation email. Popped back into the bar spoke to someone different and was told there was an issue with the app they didn't actually have our order. We showed them the receipt and that it had been taken out of our account. We were then told they couldn't refund and the money would bounce back by the morning. To get food we would have to reorder and repay. Needless to say we didn't and it's now the next afternoon and surprise surprise the money has not been refunded. We were given the wrong address to email and had to search the correct one. But no reply to that. Absolutely shocking telling people to use the app taking their money and given nothing including refund. I'll keep contacting them in hope we receive our 30 odd quid back!

Hi all, Yes, it's me. The reviewer of the year in waiting. Thank you all again for reading, listening and coming along with me in my journey across all my social media platforms. So let's get into it. As you I visted the Chester zoo on Monday 5th Aug and wanted some lunch afterwards. After much consideration I choose the very convenient The Town Crier. Located right beside the main Chester train station, fantastic for someone like me who wants to eat before they leace Chester or start there day. After a long amazing day at the zoo I went inside to kill some time waiting on my train. The time was approx 16:30 and I ordered x1 Peroni beer, large Pepsi. Bacon and chesse toastie and chicken side. The food came. The toastie came with a side of chips. It was the worse I'd ever consumed, well I tried to consume it was uneatable. The bread was horrendous the filling was atrocious. The beard was so hard I just can't understand how they could get a toastie so wrong. Chips were like rubber. The chicken was the only thing that was eatable. The decor of the pub and food seemed like The Town Crier and Weatherspoons had a fight with Weatherspoons coming out way on top. The Pub did have the Olympics showing which was good. The staff not overally friendly with customers but seemed to want to chat with each other more. Food not great at all. Atmosphere OK. Price absolutely not for what I got. I was very disappointed and had really high hopes for this place but unfortunately it lacked in every aspect. Thanks for reading everyone. Yours. 12.33 on Thursday 15th August. Have just been served by a very pleasant young barman. He was amiable, helpful and polite. Almost as refreshing as my tonic water and ice in this current climate of "rude and aloof is the new normal". Didn't want to embarrass him and ask his name but his manager will be able to work it out from the rota and give an appraisal I am sure. Will be returning later with my elderly mother for lunch. Good manners are essential for businesses and he is a great example. Food: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5

My partner and I were stuck in Tenby after Hotels.com messed our booking up. The manager of the Town Crier approached us after hearing we were in a fix. He offered us an amazing room at a discount price and saved our bacon. We had the most amazing meal in the restaurant before going out on the town. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and very helpful.

BEWARE OF THE OFFER BOARD OUT SIDE….BURGER AND PINT £10:49. THE STAFF WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH SHOULD HAVE SOME LESSONS IN BAR COMMUNITIONS. I ORDERED THE BOARD MEAL OFFER AND A PINT (0 GUINNESS) TO BE TOLD ITS NOT IN THE OFFER. BUT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED OF THE MEAL AND PINT SEPARATELY,,,,,SO I AM STILL OWNED A PINT. TOTAL BILL £15+. I had make a special trip to this pub for a meeting and I am not impressed.

We popped into The Town Crier on an impulse while visiting Chester as it was located right next to where the bus stop was for our Hop on Hop off bus. It was great decision as we had a delicious meal for a great price. Warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Great also if you are going to or getting off a train as it is conveniently situated opposite the station.

I'm in here a few times a week while waiting for trains. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I've had food here a few times while working in Chester and it's very good. Never had a bad experience. All of the staff treat me as a regular even though I'm not.

Waiting to get the train poped in for a quick bite, had the dog with me made to feel so welcome well the dog more than me hahahah. Jokes aside the staff are great there was 3 lads behind the bar a lad called Ryan one with a long hair with blonde streaks an the other with ginger facial hair. Had a goog banter with them all an they looked after the dog big bowl of water an a good fuss Sorry to the 2 young men I didn't catch there named but they was a great bunch of lads

Popped in while waiting for a train home. Good value meal, really tasty for not much money. Very friendly atmosphere, really great service. We were served by Llinos and even though the place was busy she made sure we had drinks and our meal without waiting, she was very bubbly and asked about our day and where we had been and just generally made us feel very well looked after. With the convenient location right by the train station it's definitely worth a visit.

Love the staff here very very friendly really lovely with my dogs cant do enough for them I have been coming here many months now and feel so welcomed Water bowls always offered and the dogs get a massive fuss will be back !

Popped in before getting the train, really good atmosphere in the place and Jake was really helpful serving us, would defo come back if we are in the area!

Had a fantastic pint of Guinness poured by Jake, funny guy good banter, will definitely visit again. Few craft options too

Jake served me an Amstel, had a great attitude seemed happy to be there. You must treat your staff well for them to be that happy.

This is a great stop for us on the way home from meetings by train. Always aim to get off at Chester just to be able to get a meal and definitely a few beverages. Got a free pint when I signed up for the MiXR app. Always a good stop friendly staff and sometimes colourful characters.

Arrived by train and met a friend at 10.00 on a Friday morning. Pleasant and efficient staff served us quickly with decent coffee and excellent good value breakfasts.

Excellent Pub with loads of space, reasonably priced drinks, also had Gammon egg & Chips which was lovely. Plenty of tv's to watch sport if that's your thing.

Lovely little pub just a shame about one of the staff members! We were in a large group of friends celebrating a 30th birthday. One of the girls is diabetic and doesn’t like to leave her drink incase it gets mixed up with someone else’s as she has diet lemonade so she took it to the toilet with her as a result of this we were refused to be served although when I asked why I wasn’t given a reason as to why we wouldn’t be served but another member of the team had mentioned to our diabetic friends that she’d not allowed to take her drink into the toilet? Shame as it’s a lovely pub and the rest of the staff were lovely! - such a shame

Popped in with friends for drinks Saturday afternoon, very busy not enough staff, and the ladies toilets where disgusting, no loo roll hence someone had left a disgusting mess 💩 advised the staff but they where run off their feet, feel as such a large pub very busy they need to have someone checking & cleaning toilets regularly, has put me off eating there too😒😒

My parents Liz & Dave visited whilst on their trip to Chester and found it to be a good location, reasonably priced and lovely food. They would like to mention Amy who served them. Amy helped them with a parking issue at another place and she was so lovely and friendly! Thanks Amy for being so helpful!

Spent our Saturday there as a family of 4 and was served by a lovely, friendly member of staff Lucinda. Although the bar was busy, she acknowledged that we were there for a while and made sure we were next and happily showed us to our table. She made sure our table was clean and to let her know if we needed anything. Fantastic service from Lucinda, will be back again.

Was staying in a hotel just down the road and spotted this pub as soon as I got out the train station, so decided to go there for some dinner. The pub is very spacious, with plenty seats and loads of screens to watch sport on. They have a great drinks selection and their food menu is quite vast as well, something for everyone! I had the sausage and mash which was really good. It was my first time ever going out for food by myself but I was made to feel very welcome by the staff and Conor on the bar was nice and friendly, which really put me at ease. Definitely my number one whenever I’m visiting Chester!

Went for a few hours on a Saturday, had great food and drinks outside , well looked after by staff, table outside in the sun. Will definitely return.

The town crier is perfect right opposite the train station, the food is lovely prices are good value, the staff are very Friendly, Amy was lovely really looked after us we will definitely go back.

Asked if we could extend the stay a bit longer and a staff member was super helpful and Peter us out straight away! (Amazing considering it was a Saturday and we’re in a pandemic!) veggie breakfast was soo nice too!

Came here with my family, and was served by sammy , she was very polite and quick with service, was a rainy day but luckily we was seated under cover on the decking, the staff were all working very hard despite the weather and everything was served promptly. Great pub, I look forward to coming again

Came in for a few drinks during the week. Although the weather wasn't the best we still had a great time. Staff were great especially Jack s who was fab. Will definitely be returning soon

Booked for myself and husband for lunch. We were both extremely pleased with the service we received off our bar tender Jack s. Polite, well mannered and funny. Food was lovely, atmosphere was great as chester races were on. Will definitely return 👍

Horrible day. Visited this venue with some mates and ‘Millie’ was horrible to us. She decided to be rude to us on entry and then refused to help us. Seemed to be having a bad day but that should have no effect on our day. Real shame as the pub itself is nice.

Don’t understand the rest of the reviews for this place.Visited with my family last week- alright pub, spacious outdoor area but we weren’t treated very well, my mum was especially not happy! The female / blue haired waiter decided to leave us with sopping wet tables and gave us 4 tissues after we asked how to get the seats dry? Very sarcastic and horrible way to treat customers. In addition I felt very uncomfortable that the waiter served customers without a mask on!! Inside and out! AVOID THIS PUB!!Plenty of nice ones in Chester just don’t waste your time.

Great atmosphere after the recent renovations. Leanne, in particular, went above and beyond throughout our couple of hours in the Town Crier. Easy access to chester Station & the city centre. Great prices.

The host lady does not understand customer service or basic 24 hour clock! Booked 2 hours 6-8pm got 30 minute warning at 7pm by the lovely host. Asked her to check the booking again and admitted she was wrong, but she proceeded to shout at us and told us we had a bad attitude. Absolutely would not come here again if anybody paid me to. Vile, dirty, disgusting food

Jack was a lovely bar man great service and helped with everything ! Made our experience much better!

Booked for lunch which was confirmed. Was then emailed for a 10.00 deposit which I payed. To be then emailed to say they forgot they are having work done in there kitchen but would have a pizza van there. So we still kept our reservation. Arrived and ordered drinks. Went to order pizza. To be told they wasn't serving till after 16.00. Our reservation was 13.30-15.00. Tried to order crisps to be told they only had 2 packets left. So we left. I had a table booked for another lunch which I cancelled, that they have kept the 10.00 deposit even though they said I could cancel due to lack of food. Would not recommend.

Great staff, Great service, we spent a couple of hours sitting in the sun in the new beer garden yesterday, will definitely return !

Visited with 4 friends , ordered on the app , fastest round took 25mins to arrive , and when it did it was wrong . Felt sorry for staff as not enough on and with pre bookings they would be aware of how many were coming . No mask wearing abs no enforcement . When a table left it was not cleaned before new customers were sat down . Compared to other pubs we visited this is dirty short staffed and not worth a visit . Oh and to top it off dirty porta loos in the car park with no running water no toilet paper no sanitiser .

I went for a beer with my dad, service is excellent, staff are friendly and beer is lovely. BUT....you have to use portaloos outside and they are horrendous, there is also no hot water or wash facilities just hand sanitizer!

Unfortunately on the way out there was a rude member of staff with longish curley dark hair who soured the experience.

Where do these people think we live, London? £4:40 for a beer that costs £3:30 less than 10 minutes walk away! The reason: closest to the railway station! Complete rip off and expected when there's no other option! The pub isn't even worth that much.

The staff were all nice and helpful. The meals were undersized, like a childs meal, we were all hungry afterwards

Tried booking a table before arriving but unfortunately you have to book before 11am. Felt very covid safe, had a couple drinks and snack before going to our hotel. Found bar very clean and spacious, staff very attentive, we ordered using the app and waiter service, both very quick. Will definitely visit again.

Precioso jardín de cerveza y un área interior muy grande, de hecho visitamos el pub todos los días de nuestra visita. Todo el personal fue muy agradable y atento e hizo todo lo posible para instigar todas las reglas covid emitidas por el gobierno. Tomaron nuestro nombre ynúmero de contacto en la entrada y nos asignó una mesa para la duración de nuestras visitas diarias. El jueves había llegado solo al servicio de mesa y ciertamente no nos dejaron esperar demasiado para pedir una bebida. La comida también era muy buena y el menú era muy variado. La única queja fue el número impar de personas que aparecieron en la puerta SIN una máscara. . . . . ¿Cuánto tiempo ha sido esto un requisito? ? ? ? ? ? A pesar de que se les dio una máscara y se les pidió que se desinfectaran las manos, fue decepcionante ver a algunos de ellos llevar la máscara a su mesa. Aparte de eso, sin duda recomendaríamos este pub a cualquiera que busque un ambiente agradable para disfrutar de una copa.

Called in as the beer garden and all the hanging baskets outside gives it an attractive feel. The inside does not match up but OK for a drink before catching train.

Absolutely fabulous staff, friendly, courteous and hardworking. Had our usual breakfast and not disappointed at all. The location is great for train arrivals. Clean and welcoming environment. Definitely recommend 😊

Paramos aquí mientras esperábamos el tren, la ubicación es muy conveniente justo enfrente de la estación. La señora del frente fue amable y ejecutó el proceso posterior a COVID - 19. Pedimos en el bar y en un par de minutos se compraron bebidas y cubiertos en la mesa. La comida llegó puntualmente. Desafortunadamente, la comida que queda debe desearse. La hamburguesa de ternera tenía un ligero olor desagradable, queso barato y tocino. Optamos por las papas fritas rizadas que por un recargo de 50 p fueron decepcionantes, parecían papas fritas rizadas de supermercado congeladas básicas. Aunque la hamburguesa se vende doble, es más o menos del tamaño de una hamburguesa normal. Uno de nosotros nos dieron las 10 alitas de pollo, la salsa estaba bien, pero las alas estaban demasiado cocidas y masticables. Las patatas fritas estaban bien. Había muchas opciones vegetarianas en el menú. Los baños estaban muy limpios para un pub, pero fuimos a la hora del almuerzo. En general, el servicio fue excelente, pero la comida no es tan buena.

Paré para comer antes de tomar el tren, gracias a Dios, ¡llegué bastante temprano! Fue llevado a una mesa que claramente no había sido limpiada. Pedí mi comida a través de la aplicación y me llevaron mis cubiertos casi de inmediato y luego me hicieron esperar 40 minutos por mi pedido. Cuando pregunté al respecto después de 25 minutos, me dijeron que estaban muy ocupados (estaba casi vacío cuando entré y ordené). El pollo que pedí estaba recocido, seco y duro cuando llegó.Piense que la gerencia debe darse cuenta de que están ubicados al otro lado de la calle de una de las estaciones de tren más concurridas del noroeste y cuando la gente entra normalmente para comer algo rápido antes de tomar un tren. Si no hubiera llegado más de una hora antes de la fecha límite de mi tren, no habría tenido tiempo para comer y habría estado exigiendo un reembolso.

I’ve been there and had meals there about 3 times in the past before Covid 19 and food was really nice and reasonably priced with a good selection. We went there at teatime this evening while waiting for a train connection. It was really AWFUL. I had chicken breast with cheese and bacon and barbecue sauce. You could have soled your shoe with the chicken it was so hard. The few chips we got were skinny oven chips and peas were shrivelled. I should have sent it back but didn’t want to miss my train connection.I now think that the chicken breast had been reheated in the microwave.also I’ve had an upset stomach since, but that may have been caused from the glass of house wine I had. All in all it was awful. I’ve heard of these things happening in places with the ear in to help out but this would not apply because it’s Thursday and we paid full price. I would not eat there again.

Terrible service today. The cashier ordered the wrong food for us so I asked for the order to be changed. The food order was rectified however the refund to make the difference was not granted to me. There was a refusal to give me a refund which I was owed. Very poor attitude and I will not be returning.

My first experience of dinner for a long time. Post covid the good vibes are well on the way back. Despite the covid limitations the food is great. I really enjoyed the Katsu Chicken (with curry sauce) and hot chocolate fudge cake. Both good sized portions.All the staff including many young people are working hard in the face of adversity to make everyone feel safe and welcome. The waiting staff took care when serving and keeping tables clean. in my 2 hours, I had the opportunity and time to observe how hard all those worked serving.Thanks to Mr Sunak all meals are unbeatable value.As an occasional customer for many years I am happy to keep going back.

today i've received the best service from Aaron. Really bubbly character with top service and funny. Always comes to our table having a friendly chat with us speaking to us about our day. Kirsten also doing the same whilst bringing drinks out

This was our first visit to Chester and after a lengthy drive to Chester on the first day we found the Town Crier just across from our hotel and right opposite the train station.The helpful & friendly staff assisted us with a table, and fantastic service throughout, the food we tasty as well as being very reasonably priced, and there was a good selection of drinks. We also felt very safe throughout our visit, with clear COVID19 controls in place, which did not at all impact the service or quality.In fact, it was so good we went back on the second evening!

17th July enjoyed a first class two course lunch. Great opportunity to support the team copying well in difficult circumstances. Despite a limited menu because of these difficult times the service, food and drink was excellent. Everyone was very supportive of the new restrictions and stayed safe.Recommended for August and beyond.

Amazing staff, sorted us out with a face-mask to get on the train home. The worker Arron also deserves a rase or something, brilliant customer service nice to go somewhere where staff are so lovely and helpful!😊😊

Ordered 2 BBQ Chicken Melt sub and drink deals upon arrival via the app. 15 mins later drinks arrived. 10 minutes after that the cutlery and sauces arrived. A further 15 mins after than the food arrived.A dry baguette with chopped up southern fried chicken on and a sliver of lettuce. No BBQ sauce. No melted cheese.Politely pointed this out to the staff who took it back to the kitchen. It reappeared 10 mins later with a drizzle of BBQ sauce AND A CHOPPED UP BURGER CHEESE SLICE. Not even microwaved, not melted, just chopped up on the top of the now cold chicken. Seriously?!Called the server back and pointed out that the meal they had served was nothing like the description in the menu and we were offered a refund. Of £2.50. Less the drinks.Bearing in mind we have now waited nearly an hour for our food and its gone back to the kitchen twice we decided just to reorder a different sub. Asked for the fish finger one instead.The young server went to order it and came back out to tell us we now owed them £8.80. We asked how when it was a like for like swap? He said we ordered fish and chips.... So had put through the wrong meal.... And then offered to us it as goodwill.Needless to say we won't be eating here again but the drinks were nice and the beer garden pleasant.

Recently took in this pub, on a jaunt, staff nice and friendly, pub superbly organised ,not overly busy,ordered from the bar, go and sit down and they bring drinks to you, all well organised, and well run, will definitely return when in the area again.

Located by Chester Railway Station is The Town Crier ,a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Chester I take. I love the look of this pub,a sports bar look, great decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their huge beer garden .We were here on a Thursday night ,pub was very busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a cider each,we opted to have Strongbow dark fruit cider, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My cider was exceptional, a crisp, sweet and very cold cider that certainly cut through the thirst, very easy to drink,a cider I really enjoy. This is a pub I've been to on so many occasions over the years , always guaranteed a great vibe in here and so it proved on our latest visit.We both really enjoyed our ciders in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Town Crier Pub is easy to locate along City Road,its facing Chester Railway Station. Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday, 8am till 11.30pm.A great pub,one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.

Very good pub is this. We always go here first when we come to chester. Very cosy. Great staff. And a great selection of ale. And the foods not bad either. Defo recommended

Friendly staff, good service, average food menu, priced accordingly, specials and themed food nights are one the agenda, sports orientated, big screen and TV presentation, promoting big match/game deals. Opposite the train station with good access.

Went in for late lunch at weekend before getting a train, rubgy and football on so was very rowdy with big groups but understandable. We ordered two burgers and had foolishly been mislead by the photos on the menu. The beef burger was embarrassing, I don't know how they even thought it was okay to bring out the kitchen. It made a children's cheeseburger as a well known fast food chain look like a big meal! Plates were sparse with just burger and some chips. Nothing like a few lettuce leaves couldn't have made it look a little more appealing. It's pub group, convient location but won't be going for grub again

Me and my Son popped in here to grab a bite to eat and a drink after a 2 hour train journey. This pub is conveniently located right opposite the train station, it does get quite busy, however we managed to find a nice little table for 2, staff were really friendly, service was pretty good considering how busy it was and the food was good for the money. Plenty of offers and deals on the menu so make sure you read those before ordering as you can get some great deals on your food and drink if purchased together rather than seperately.Did the job!

Love this pub and use it pretty regular but not anymore,I’ve just questioned the price of my pint Punk IPA to be told that the prices go up 30p if a weekend!! Joke yea? Apparently not,£5.15p a pint,not for me on a pension! I’m out!

Bar was quite busy, as it was race day and its opposite the station. Staff were OK friendly and efficient. A nice area outside to relax and have a quiet drink. Plus i found a fiver on the floor, so well worth the visit

Myself and a couple of mates visited here on a Monday mid afternoon. Who ever is managing this place needs to actually do some management. The pub was woefully understaffed, there were only two people behind the bar to do everything and as a result it took forever to get served. If I had not been waiting for someone I would have walked out. And because the place had almost no staff, the tables were a disgrace; there wasn't one that was not covered in spilt drinks or empty glasses. This is not a fault of the staff, it's the fault of the manager - the place was a bit of a tip.

Bar staff lacked common sense and speed, very slow being served and only slightly busy. Saw a man in a banta clause jumper as well.

Probablemente una de las peores comidas de pub que he tenido. No, en realidad, tres de las peores comidas de pub, ya que todas fueron horribles. Nachos . . ¿Cómo puedes estropear una comida de nachos? Muy fácilmente en este establecimiento, volvió casi cuando salió de la cocina. Mi plato coreano estaba frío y el pescado y las patatas fritas de mi marido se comían únicamente porque estaba casi desmayándose de hambre. On way into city from train... dropped into a packed pub... rugby world cup on... but still got my breakfast muffin and cuppa.. only one not on alcohol at 8.30am how bad is that lol! Prefer it quieter but suppose there are some rugby fans out there lol

Después de leer algunas reseñas anteriores de otros, algunos de los comentarios me sorprendieron. Mi experiencia en el lugar podría haber sido única, ya que solo estuvimos en Chester durante un par de horas esperando una conexión de tren (en la estación extremadamente cercana, está literalmente al otro lado de la carretera) y necesitábamos algo de comer. No nos apetecía caminar hacia el centro, ya que el clima no estaba mal y no sabíamos hasta qué punto terminaríamos caminando, así que vimos The Town Crier y pensamos que lo probaríamos. Se ve muy "Wetherspoony" pero no lo es, solo un concepto similar. El lugar estaba bastante ocupado y un poco ruidoso (eran alrededor de las 3 y media de un sábado por la tarde), pero logramos encontrar una mesa que no estaba demasiado llena y comenzamos a examinar el menú. Hay especiales en cada día (de nuevo similar a Wetherspoons) y el sábado era un especial para compartir (normalmente 11.49 cualquier otro día, 9.49 en el especial) que decidí tener. Es un pick and mix y puedes elegir 5 platos por el precio. Lo único malo es que una de mis opciones de gambas no estaba disponible. Las porciones se servían en platos separados (muy calientes) en una gran tabla de madera. Elegí dos porciones de goujons de pollo, pan de ajo con queso (si te encanta Pizza Hut's, esto te encantará), champiñones empanizados y papas fritas cubiertas de pollo de cazador, lo que debo decir como alguien que no se entusiasma demasiado con las papas fritas. ¡morir por! ! ¿Papas fritas cubiertas con trozos de pollo, sabroso tocino y un montón de queso derretido? ¿Qué no se podría amar? Mis padres (con quienes viajaba) tenían el pastel de carne y cerveza con puré (mi mamá) y la parrillada mixta (mi papá), y ambos platos eran igual de agradables. El pastel era una rebanada de tamaño generoso, con puré de papas, guisantes y su propia jarra de salsa. La parrillada mixta era lo que esperarías, servida con aros de cebolla. Mi papá se alegró de ver que sus tres cervezas favoritas estaban disponibles en borrador (Peroni, Stella y Hop House 13) y mi mamá optó por el té, que era más que suficiente para una persona. Mi Coca-Cola era exactamente como me gustaba, fría y llena de grasa. No puedo comentar sobre los postres ya que no teníamos espacio para uno, aunque dijimos en la estación que si cancelaban nuestro tren, ¡volveríamos por uno! En general, nuestra experiencia fue agradable, y creo firmemente que volveremos, ¡aunque solo sea por esas increíbles fichas! !

Visited this pub for something to eat whilst away for the weekend. It was quite busy. We found a table and ordered. The food came quickly, it was ok. Average pub food really. Nothing spectacular but good value for money

Too many TVs and obviously don't apply think 25,loads of kids, this place could be far better. Nice staff though.

Un amigo y yo hemos estado viendo el Mundial de Rugby aquí, que incluye cerveza y desayuno. Este es un gran lugar en una ubicación ideal (estación de tren y parada de autobús afuera) y tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio.

The restaurant was very busy our order was taken by a very friendly waitress our drinks were served exactly how we had asked for them and our food was great fish, Batter so tasty and crispy, lovely atmosphere

Right across the road from the station they have a great srkection of beers, staff were really attentive and couldn't do enough for us, decided to grab something to eat food was equally as good as the service, quick to come out piping hot and delicious, pub was clean and tidy including the toilets which were of a high standard, all in all a great visit and fantastic value for money, would highly recommend

Another Wetherspoons pub with the same old MO: good location, great job in refurbing the building, absolute terrible service. This pub is located directly across from Chester's railway station on the edge of town. Walking in, the place was almost empty but a couple of people were waiting to get served. I joined them and we waited. And waited. Two bartenders were on the other side of the bar arguing loudly with a customer. Another bartender was filling shelves close by but refused to serve anyone and looked totally disinterested of his surroundings. Eventually a female bartender appeared who looked as if she really hated her job and did NOT want to be there. She was curt with the punters with hardly any manners. When I finally got served my pint of Carling (£3.95, the most I paid in Chester) I found it hard to find a table that wasn't cleared of glasses and/or wiped clean of spilled booze and food. The one I chose was so sticky and filthy. Needless to say, I just had the one drink and left, never to return during my weekend stay.

Went to watch the rugby on several occasions both early morning and lunchtime. Tried both menus and the food is excellent and great value for money, the beer is also kept well. Staff are friendly and helpful, Leanne couldn't do enough for us. The place is clean and the toilets are of the standard you see in some hotels!

Came in for a few drinks with friends was served by a very polite lady called Millie. She was very helpful and friendly with her customer service.

Always visit this pub on our trip. Opposite the train station. Nice food, although one night the meat burger slightly burnt on edges, but nothing to complain about. Vegan burger was lovely. Clean tables and clean toilets. Nice staff

Right by railway station and convenient for hotel.Quite large pub, similar style and menu to a Weatherspoons but different chain.

Came to Chester, and asked to watch the Scotland game but were denied due to the cricket and rugby being on. Not catering for all of the country

Looked good pub from the outside and as it was just across from the train station and our party were thirsty after journey from Liverpool we all went in. Busy due to the Races Day but decent pub just for quick drink.

Call in for breakfast on a sunday morning, not impressed was told straight away no hot drinks beening served and 1/2 wait for breakfast can live with the wait even though it wasn't that busy but surely they can boil a kettle to make a cup of tea, breakfast wasnt that long in coming but it might have been better if it had taken longer, egg was cooked sometime last week I think just after the very hard sausage accompany these was a burnt tomato 2 nearly raw mushrooms, however the hash brown and baked beans were ok, as for value for money if it had been a well cooked breakfast it was very good value as it was it would of been better going to McDonald's wont be back

Came here for a meal last night and it was a complete joke. Out of four of the meals we had, 1 of us got what we originally ordered. Worse still, instead of telling us from the beginning, it took several times over the course of an hour to tell us they didn't have what we asked for. No scampi, no corn, no meat free pie, no fish fingers, no onion rings. The reason - it's been busy over the bank holiday! Not good enough.

Manager was rude to our group on several occasions, i believe purely as we were a hen group. We were going to eat here aswell as spending a considerable amount of money on drinks. So we didnt bother and went to Revolution where we were given excellent service and food and welcomed.
