Don’t bother with this hotel, there are nicer hotels in London. Rooms very small, instant coffee, chilly room with no heat. Shower is hot then cold (not a nice experience. Breakfast buffet not with the price.

I was at The Tower with my daughter and I had a “bridge view room” for three nights. Due to a change of the flight schedule I had to extend one night and … the room assigned for the additional night was very very cold. The Heating system did not work and I had to insist a lot, nearly discuss to change it. The manager on duty at the front desk/ reception on the 10th December afternoon was really useless and did not want to change my room. Only the politeness and understanding of a Receptionist allowed me and my daughter to spend a decent additional night at The Tower assigning a different room with an efficient heating system. I travel a lot and although this hotel is conveniently located it is very clear the there is a significant lack of management and supervision. With more focused managers things could be much better. In any case we were ok and we enjoyed London. I suggest to verify more frequently the performance of some of the Duty Managers.

Dating from the 11th century, this castle has history oozing out of every stone. The central White tower was completed in 1098, has wall 100ft thick. The Crown jewels are kept here, and the castle has served as a prison, where princes have been murdered, also traitors have been kept in horrid conditions.

The Tower of London was an intereting place. I was a little disappointed that I could not see the Chapel as you had to do a tour. I just bought a ticket and wandered on my own with everyone else. I was tired as I had just gotten to London after flying from USA. But the ravens were cool and the area where Anne Boylen and others lost their life was humbling and definitely requires a moment to just stop and reflect.

I happened to visit this time on a solo trip and the experience was very moving. I could take my time, absorb the history more - listen to the beefeater tour guide more closely ( a tour is a must!), and take some quiet time in hidden corners. I was there when the poppy display was going on - very impacting. As I've said previously, a beefeater tour is a must. I have been an interpretive park ranger in The US for many years and these beef eaters are among the best "interpreters" I have heard, well worth it! Hit all the highlights you can - the crown jewels, the white tower, etc, but take time to take photos from less crowded corners also - you'll get some dandies.

Don't worry if you are not right up front, they are very loud and stand atop chairs, steps, etc. so you can see them. The first thing you should do after arriving early is make your way directly to the Crown Jewels display. If you wait and go after the Beefeater Tour, there will likely be a big line.

Ok, first tip for this venue, make sure you walk around the entire perimeter of this Castle before entering through the paygate as you need to appreciate the sheer scale and important position it occupies in relation to the River Thames. It's relationship with the Thames is intertwined and you will understand more how 'Traitors Gate' served the castle as the entranceway for river traffic. This is important as you can miss this aspect if you do not take a walk all around outside first.Once inside, there are a number of key points to visit and you will need at least 3-4 hours to fully appreciate everything. The New Armouries Cafe is a great to place to grab a light bite (or main meal if you prefer) where it is warm and cosy. The food there has a good variety and is priced as one would expect for a London central visitor attraction. Tip - when walking the ramparts do not hurry through the various towers but look closely for examples of amazing carved graffitti from medieval and later times. It is very easy to miss! In fact study the walls throughout carefully, the castle is alive with such hidden historic gems. The main exhibition in the White Tower is impressive but often busy so be patient, take your time and let the history soak in to you.Numerous costumed characters roam to engage with..take time to do this to enhance your learning experience! There is a well stocked souvenir shop for items for visitors to take home and i was impressed with the good range of prices in there for the smaller right up to the larger pocket to spend on.

I visited the Tower years ago as a child, I only recall standing in line to look at a load of sparkly jewels somewhere above nose height! and a wooden chopping block in the vicinity of Anne Boleyns demise. Sadly all of the poppies had gone but we were constrained to this weekend or the following so there you go. We thoroughly enjoyed the hour long talk by one of the Yeomen Warders (NOT COSTUME GUARDS:-)). This is worth doing as you get a good bit of history and if you are lucky enough to get the guy we had, or Dickie or the famous chap on youtube (Callahan) then you will be highly entertained too. We didn't really spend enough time there as we had booked Tower Bridge too and wanted to get there while the light was good so we didn't see all of it really. The chicken mesh beasties were really good. The gift shops are pricey but that you can expect, hey you're on hols so why not? The crown jewels are pretty and the armoury was impressive, you may wish to hide the kids eyes while passing Henry VIII's suit if you can't be bothered with awkward questions, uncontrollable fits of giggles or feelings of inadequacy for the gents though :-)

This was the third visit to The Tower as we love the location, it's exceptionally clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast is superb. We treated ourselves to a room with a view of Tower Bridge this time as our two previous visits had overlooked St Katherine's Docks, and it was a view to die for. Absolutely stunning, with The Shard just behind it.We got quite a good deal on the price with breakfast included and we highly recommend the hotel. We will be staying again I'm sure!

The site is much bigger than you think when inside and contains an overwhelming amount of history. Well kept with good guides / guided tours and plenty of information on display. Restaurant / cafe is good and in a wonderful old building.

Terrible experience! I work nearby and used to go with coworkers. Their Sunday Roast is excellent so I made a reservation to go with friends on Sunday 22nd September. They offered me two slots at 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. I chose 15.30 and it was confirmed by Sonata. When the day arrived I called early in the morning to let them know if we could postpone it to 4:30 pm because my friend was late, they told me it was no problem. Our surprise was that when we arrived at the place they told us that they did not have our reservation, despite having a written confirmation, and that the kitchen was closed (even though you could see the plates of food coming out of the kitchen to the tables) and that this Sunday was its last day open. If they close the kitchen at 4.30pm, how can they offer us to eat at 5pm? A whole bunch of lies...they left us stranded and didn't bother to offer an apology. The bar staff was the most unhelpful. We had to leave the places without eating and the whole experience was a great disappointment. I will never set foot in this place again... And I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone. They don't value clients!

One of the best places to try and learn about exclusive English wines, couple this with Julia's passion and knowledge of the products you can't get any better. Add the passion of the recent explosion of gin into the UK revival what's not to think you should not arrange a visit?
