Stumbled past this pub after visiting the Titanic exhibition at SeaCity and thought it was a fitting spot for lunch. From the outside right through to the interior fitout is was beautifully decorated with interesting titanic memorabilia. It was instantly a welcoming environment with a few people playing darts, some people having lunch, the americas cup playing and super friendly service from the guy behind the bar. We ordered a couple of burgers and the rosemary salted chips, all of which were fresh, full of flavour, delivered quickly and exceptionally priced. Definitely recommend if you are around. Sorry for the dodgy photo - doesn’t do the burgers the justice they deserve!

Walking through Southampton we came across this pub. We are Titanic enthusiasts and we were not wrong. We had the best burger of our entire trip here. The Titanic Burger was excellent, accompanied by a delicious draft beer. We loved the service from one of the staff who is from Canada, very friendly and cordial.

Shoutout to Sam and Dean for being great behind the bar (sorry if I got the names wrong) next time we may have doubles. We didn’t try the food but what was coming out of the kitchen really mad us wish we had. A+++++

Tried a Titanic burger off the new menu and some rosemary salted fries, good portions, and a choice of sauce at no extra including chili jam. Clean and Friendly bar, with good comfortable seating, some themed pictures. Sports available on screen, varied clientele, young and older as well as some footfall from the Cruise Ships. Log Fire in winter, can be cosy venue. Would like to see some drinks promotion or saving for regulars please. Managers and Staff always friendly welcoming and professional.

We spotted this pub as we were walking back to our hotel, and thought it looked like a good old-fashioned pub. The pub is full of character, but the overall experience was disappointing. I ordered a pint of neck oil. which is one of my regular drinks, but this one wasn't the best. I then tried the London Pride, but the beer was flat. The guy behind the bar looked like he was bored and would rather be somewhere else. Shame, as it could be a lot better.

After visiting the Titanic Museum we wanted to visit a traditional pub. Ambiance was OK. The barman probably didn't really feel like spending the day. Tables were dirty and weren't cleaned when we sat down. I didn't try the English beer because German guests who were already there didn't think it was good. I then ordered Blackbird beer. We had our engagement party at The Titanic and couldn't have asked for a better venue for it - good value, really attentive staff, clear communication beforehand, and interesting decor that sets the pub apart from others in the area. The dining room can be separated from the bar area with a curtain, so we had the advantage of both an actually private event and very close proximity to the bar. The only downside is that the restrooms weren't the smartest. Can definitely recommend this place if you're hosting a private event!

This is one of the final few traditional English pubs remaining that still trades regularly. It doesn’t do the Wetherspoon large floor plan and muzak, offering cheap prices but a small range of lager that’s mere days from its use-by date. Maybe not so well known as the Red Lion (this most likely due to its location - outside of the city centre - along with the Duke of Wellington and the Juniper Berry) but unlike the others it doesn’t offer food not even a Sunday roast, and I suspect it’s for these reasons that only immediate locals or thirsty passing foot trade are the typical customers you’ll see nowadays. The landlord is always there and serves the pints himself and is incredibly friendly and approachable. Smoking isn’t seen as the deadly act it seems to be thought of by some other drinking establishments, so you can have a smoke along with your drink at this pub while just sitting outside the door on the tables and chairs put there for your convenience. It’s a shame that there isn’t more foot traffic or passing trade because The Titanic is a decent pub and has a fairly large main bar even though it’s of the format of the traditional, cozy, familiar local with bars the size of your lounge and comfy chairs like your sofa rather than wooden stools. And the building itself has the more ornate architecture and lead light windows you only tend to see on older style purpose-built pubs, as well as having all the traditional public house amenities such as a pool table, darts board, piano, dark furnishings and so on because comfort and a relaxing pint whilst chatting with mates is clearly the most important focus of English pubs as opposed to the big groups of people that high street chains aim to attract whilst encouraging them to spend money by offering a wide range of shots and alcopops preferred by their younger market. So, to sum up, if you prefer a quiet drink in a pub reminiscent of your traditional local with a warm and friendly atmosphere, then seek out the Titanic. Besides if you don’t wish to stay or you want food, there’s another similar pub just down the road (in either direction) as well as ‘the dancing man’ and the ‘Platform Tavern’ within a few hundred feet, both of which are well known for their food and also have live music.

The Titanic PH is near the Tudor House and St Michaels Church the historic quater on the same street there is the Duke PH (an excellent Wadsworth Pub) under new management and Dancing Man near the water. Some like to take in a few venues along here. Titanic, Refurbished in period style boasts a large open fireplace and comfortable seating with chesterfields and candle light. It is a friendly local with traditional feel, Ale and a mix of traditional drinks and good choice of spirits. Light food options have been reintroduced with basket meals becoming very popular right away with the locals. Choose from sausage, chicken pieces, scampi or mozzarella sticks all served with chips and cooked hot and fresh! (Check food times and opening times of the venue). (Closed Tuesday, Closes 8pm Sundays). This is a pub for relaxing, conversation and diversity from cruise tourists to students and local residents. It enjoys a livelier atmosphere at Halloween, Christmas and NewYear when groups tend to move from place to place. The bar has lively banter at times but boasts a traditional lounge which is subdued and relaxing and this makes it very welcoming to all. It’s not a music or sports bar. Many visitors like to play bar billiards over a pint, and the regulars or staff will often guide you with the rules/ game play of this traditional game. There is a bingo night on the first Wednesday of each month with cash to win, and talk of reintroducing the quiz which had proved popular in the past. Prizes tended to be chocolate or similar goodies! It’s a bar where you can feel safe and included, it’s always wise to arrange taxi transport late at night in the city when alone, Southampton is no different to other large city’s in this respect. The pub can accommodate some events by arrangement it’s really a question of asking the landlord in person. Up to date customer review from a local , Sept 2020.

I would like to write a glowing review about Fresh Shawarma, hands down the best place to get shawarma in all of Shirley. Despite being temporarily closed, Fresh Shawarma always provides a quality service, at a reasonable price, with friendly staff. There is free complimentary tea, a nice seating area, and extremely good food that is packed full of things that will make you more than full and satisfied. Overall, I would recommend, and I eagerly await the reopening.
