Great pizza. Great cheap and fast lunch.

Really lovely, unassuming cafe that provides a quiet haven from the busy Southampton streets for anything from a coffee to a full meal. Open for breakfast onwards. Service is always friendly.

Superb, fresh, wood fired pizza. We greatly enjoyed our lunch. Eclectic with a subtle steam-punk kind of vibe.

Came for an early Sunday morning breakfast. We have Banana Maple Crepe and a Ham, Cheese, Mushroom Omelette. Both were simple but delish. Coffee and Hot Chocolates were very good also. Good vibe and friendly staff. This is a refreshing change from all the "chain" cafes in the area and I highly recommend it here. For breakfast anyway. I did not try their Italian Pizzas or other lunch/dinner offerings.

This Italian restaurant must be recommended to everyone The flour on the pizza base is delicious and the ham is full of salty flavor. Fresh homemade spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce, definitely worth trying Not helping a restaurant will definitely be your loss

Lovely place, staff polite and friendly, quick service, great coffee and very tasty food.

Pizza was okay. Not exactly authentic Italian but this is England. Espresso was horrible, no crema at all. When I enquired about it, the barista said sometimes the coffee maker produce coffee without crema. When I asked is it usual to have coffee without crema he said “sometimes, the machine makes the coffee not me”.

Went in here for an evening meal. Ordered pasta. I had spaghetti carbonara my father had spaghetti and meatballs. Beautifully cooked home-made food reasonable price nice atmosphere.

Looked good but that was it. I ordered the spaghetti with prawns. Was like a tin of Heinz spaghetti with some prawns thrown in, same for my husband’s meatballs. No flavour, no prep at all. Italian cuisine it was not. Greek salad had olives from a jar, no dressing, oregano or onion. The waiter was sullen and ran off before we could complete our order. They want your custom but can’t be bothered to follow through with decent food, just plain lazy.

Great little cafe/restaurant. I love the pasta (especially the prawn pasta and meatball pasta) Partner always says the carbonara is amazing. Great drinks aswell, the Morena beer is definitely one to try. Lovely place with a good atmosphere, one of my favourite places to eat.

A nice place with good service. Choice of breakfast (sausage roll) was disappointing and expensive.

Disappointing food. Lured in by the attractive look of the restaurant and the pizza oven in the back. We only wanted a light lunch so we ordered a Greek salad and a pizza to share. Greek salad ingredients had obviously just been thrown together on a plate and a bit of dressing dribbled over. Olives were very small, yellow and bitter. Tiny bits of rubbery feta cheese. The vegetarian pizza was ok but very flat and looked like it had been cooked in a convential oven - no nice charring or uneven edges. Just felt there wasn't any love or passion about the food and very glad we didn't bother with the pasta.

I was at La Vita Cafe on 06/16/2024, Father's Day. We were attracted by the good location, the performance of the design and the stone oven. I'll give my general impressions: *Pizza - Good dough, but I expected more as it's an Italian restaurant. *Italian Antipasto - Little quantity. *Spaghetti with prawns - very simple. *Drinks - There was nothing cold, we drank beer at room temperature even though we ordered cold draft beer. *Coffee - Perfect! If you want to have a good coffee, then this is the place. *Service - Good service, but could improve.

Pizza restaurant. Amazing pizzas and salads at very good prices. Place was busy but service was great and friendly. Highly recommend and if we are that way again we would definitely go back

Lovely place, one of a few genuine independent restaurants left. Great pizza. Normally comes square-sliced into 9 pieces leaving one in the middle without a crust, but just ask for standard slicing if like me you prefer not to have to use a knife and fork for the last piece. Great coffee too, tastes like the machine is well cleaned and looked after

It looked so nice, really lovely decor. Waiter was lovely , but the pizza was awful. I expected so much, with a beautiful pizza iven, but the pizza was bland, horrible cheese, not much tomato base sauce. Really disappointed

This review is not based on their pizza, which looked delicious. I felt like some pasta, so I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. Big mistake. I was expect some sort of homemade pasta and meatballs. What I got was something out of a can. It was very disappointing, to say the least.

Cute little cafe with a traditional European atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Very good pizza cooked in a proper pizza oven. We also had Spaghetti Carbonara and the English Breakfast which were decent for the price. Nice place to stop for a coffee and beer.

Our second visit to La Vita. Always freshly cooked authentic Italian food. Lovely thin crust pizzas served by attentive staff. Very reasonably priced for the standard of food. Would definitely recommend to those looking for better food than that served by the chains in Westquay.

The prices are good, and the food is okay, but the inconsistent opening times are a joke. I walk past this café everyday and for the last 3 days running I've ended up buying breakfast from Subway because these guys haven't been open at the time they advertise which begs the question; do they actually want my money? I find it immensely frustrating and it's getting to the point where I'm going to stop even looking to buy breakfast at this venue because it shows me that this venue is not serious about business. We're in the middle of March in the UK where it is considered a cold season, I live on the High Street and all I want in the morning is a nice warm breakfast to start my day. It's a bitter disappointment walking down the road in the freezing cold to find that the café you wish to buy breakfast from is not open and you have to walk either across the road to visit another café or another 100 yds to get Subway. When open, the staff at this venue are really friendly and helpful. You get a warm feeling about the place. I would rate the staff excellent but I've only given the venue two stars due to my first two comments.

Great food again, staff extremely helpful and attentive but the problem is with there advertised opening hours which are no where near the actual opening times which makes getting in a bit of pot luck?

Fantastic meal. Order a pizza to share, fair size and well priced. Best hot chocolate around as well. Well worth a pop in for a snack or reasonably priced meal.

Frozen pizza from supermarket I believe....don't even bother ordering one

We came across this very lovely cafe day b4 xmas eve 2023.. we are so glad we found it. The food was lovely and not over priced. So much nicer than sitting in a loud pub with all the Hussle an bussle, We will definitely be returning. Thankyou guys an merry christmas ❤️

Came here whilst doing Christmas Shopping. lovely, cosy place with nice smell of the log fire for the pizza oven, breakfast was great and well priced, really nice coffee and the staff were very welcoming. Will definitely come back

Best pizza ever !!!! I love this place, I've been coming here for 2 years now. It is small and chic, wonderfully decorated inside and I am always loving the pizza. My girlfriend and I call this our special pizzeria and it is always so relaxing having such good food and service. I've been sending friends here too and they ALL love it !

Lovely atmosphere here and had an Italian feel to it. Pizza was lovely, service good and staff very pleasant. Love the wooden decor on the walls. Recommend a visit.

Best Pizzas, can’t rate enough!!!

Very quiet. There was no music until more people arrived. It’s evening and empty, which is very strange. The pizza is ok, but nothing special. There weren't enough aromatic herbs and oils.

It was empty. It remained empty for the entirety of our visit. This is not a problem except when the staff who are actually very friendly don't notice when the customers have finished and are waiting... waiting.... waiting until they decide they can't be bothered with pudding and coffee because of the waiting. They have to walk up and ask for a bill in an empty restaurant! The food was great, I'd go for a pizza again but you need to push, I'd just get up and go to the bar next time and ask for service as they seem nice but not trained to watch the customer - I was a waiter once, you watch the diners like a hawk! We wanted to have breakfast here the next day but decided the Wetherspoons pub almost opposite would give better service! This place could be so great if they trained their waiting staff better. Friendly but inattentive.

Ordered food, not very welcoming, and then at the end I thought I would offer a £1 tip as the food was good and with out showing me she added a £5 tip! Lesson learned always check as I didn't check the receipt until I got home! Not happy!

What a let down, so looking forward to a meal before going on to a live gig. Staff were really nice, but the food was awful. Definitely won't go back Also just noticed 1 star for food hygiene rating, heaven only know what goes on behind the scenes. Enjoy your meal. LOL.

Fantastic pizzas, thin cripsy and very tasty. Tables a bit small by time a group of four receive there order. Hot fkkd and great coffee.

Genuinely horrible bartending staff. Laughed in our faces to each other when tried ordering a drink at midday, on a day out. When we spoke to the staff to complain, completely gaslighted us said we were wrong, and that nothing had happened. Do not recommend, appalled.

Went in for breakfast and ordered the big breakfast for £9.99, and was left really disappointed! Eggs were bunt and inedible, the only thing harder than the bacon was the plate! Overall really really poor for the price, and at the end when paying the lady asked was everything alright I said “hmmmm not really” and she didn’t even respond to it! Shame cause used to be amazing but won’t be coming back again now.

This restaurant doesn't get enough credit, honestly! Their pizza is one of the best ones I've had in many countries! We love the calm and relaxing atmosphere, the candid and friendly staff, and, of course, their AMAZING Italian dishes. We have been going here for quite a while now! If you want music and fast food, this place is not for you, but if you like home made like food, want to bring a friend or family to talk and relax, I recommend it! Me and my kids are really fond of it!

Amazing place! Nice I found it. It is quiet, which is nice for talking and enjoying nice food. I really like it. And is one of the few restaurants that actually serves nice coffee for all those that love and know how to appreciate a good coffee.

We went here before and had decidedly mediocre milkshakes but decided to give it another chance. The food was, quite frankly, pathetic. Entirely bland and tiny chicken jalapeno panini + crepe and a bone dry microscopic "side salad" (see picture) that barely qualified as edible with a largely flat sprite sold for something approaching £25 is decidedly subpar. We'll not be visiting again.

Very delicious Pizza, it cooked in wood oven which give it incredible crispy taste.

We love eating here, the food is great. Pizzas are the best in town, they have a real pizza oven and you can see the pizzas being prepared fresh. I like the omelette as well. If you want grass spoon fare, this is not the place for you. But if you like quality food at great price I definitely recommend.

Looks nice from the outside but that’s it. A very poor breakfast which from the looks and sounds of it re-heated in the microwave.

It was nice I had a large breakfast but for almost £10 I expected more than a spoonful of baked beans , the offer a free drink with the meal but limited options with that. They do have vegetarian options but as far I know they have no gf or dairy free options (but they do offer dairy free milk) staff seems shy / didn’t wanna be there but was kind I suppose

First I don't mean the service is poor just because of short of manpower. Regrettably I did not try their pizza. It looks so good.

Antipasto platter for two is definately recommended. Avocado and Bacon salad was served with just the right amount of salad dressing drizzled over it. The La Vita Pizza is the absolute best❤️. The thin pizza crust was cooked to perfection (neither burnt to a crisp nor soggy with toppings) and all the toppings perfectly balanced eachother with generous rocket leaf sprinkled over it. Music wasn't loud either, so you could actually converse with your partner. Go on, treat yourself!

Do not eat here I've just been there had a breakfast and a mocka. Don't know what has happened but I have eaten come out gone back to my car and thrown up absolutely everywhere I'm now not well due to eating here way to ruin my weekend AVOID AT ALL COST

Quiet Italian restaurant and bar (most of the dishes are not halal) In Southampton Center features a pizza oven.. The employee received her well.. I ordered a cheese pizza and it was delicious, with natural yeast, for about 13 pounds, and the price was higher than the market

Cozy cafe, with pizza, salad, breakfast, sandwich etc… The pizza was terrific. The salad was also very tasty and the café was great too!

Saw this lovely café and thought it looked nice and different. I was right as it was fabulous inside, rustic but homley. I had a decaf mocha which was really lovely. I am not a fan of strong coffee so this was ideal.

No atmosphere, shocking service, shocking food & portion size. Will definitely not go here again. Definitely would not recommend. Pizza cut into tiny squares for some strange reason. Panini actually a very small bread roll toasted. Jacket potato hard inside & skin at the bottom too tough to chew. Diet coke served in bottle with straw, charged for glass of tap water. £50 for the pleasure in total. Feel so ripped off. Place looked lovely & rustic from the outside. Didn't know if it was French, Italian, Greek or British.

Cosy and Italian. Good quality ingredients and freshly cooked. Vegans will struggle as is expected from a traditional Italian menu, vegetarians should be fine

This is the best pizza in Southampton. My boyfriend and I love it, we go there every few weeks and we love the food and the atmosphere in there. Every friend that visited us we took them there to try it and they also said they loved it. An intim and rustic interior design. Italian ingredients such as prosciutto and parmesan are used as toppings.The food takes you straight to Italy. The pizza is ready in 10-15 min and always good quality and fresh ingredients are used.

Can't fault it! The food and atmosphere, the night before our 8 day first ever cruise, was very good. My wife and I enjoyed our meals and whole dining experience. The service was was quick and professional. Thank you.

I ordered poached eggs on toast for £7. After waiting for 15 minutes this is what I was served with. One egg in completely in bits and one egg that looks like something you’d find in a McDonald’s breakfast, toast with an inch of butter on each corner. Completely disgusted, I ended up walking out without touching it. Expected better from this place, money wasted!!!

We ended up here as every where else was either really busy or closed. Sat down and were informed it would take 45 minutes for food, which wasn't an issue for us as it was raining heavily and there wasn't many other options for us anyway!! Went to order a pasta dish each to be informed they were only doing pizza, it was a little annoying we weren't told this at the start but quickly selected a pizza each. Pizza arrived in probably about 25 minutes, we ordered the meat feast and a vegetable and I have to say they were the nicest pizzas we have had in a long time. The ingredients, especially on the vegetable one were so fresh and they had plenty of cheese on too and the base was nice and light. A couple of little things could have made the experience a little better on terms of service, but based purely on food this would get a 5 out of 5 but the little issues knocked the rating down to a 4.

My partner and I almost always pop in to this delightful place whenever we visit Southampton. It is a delightful place to come and has never failed to impress us. This weekend just passed, we went in for a coffee and a light lunch. We shared a couple of the antipasti and were delighted. The hummus, especially, was superb. We cannot understand why it is not more busy than it is. The reviews do seem a bit hit and miss but it has never been less than a hit for us. It is very highly recommended by us.

Very nice cafe for decent cup of coffee I must say. Convenient place as you can park your car right in front for £1 per 30 mins. The cafe seemed rather clean and prices were great for such place. Staff was welcoming and helpful. The ambiance was lovely. Interior decor is all wood and gives you feeling of old pub. Moreover, they have fire oven pizza which I bet must be good. I’d definitely recommend.

Look elsewhere if you want a good full English breakfast. All in all it was a strange experience - for example there is a massive menu board but no prices on it. You need to look on the menu on each table. The food is affordable but don't expect high quality ingredients. There are definitely better places to get a proper fry up. Here the sausages are definitely economy, cheap white bread and cheap bacon. Coffee was ok but choices were limited. Don't expect Americanos, or dairy free options like oat or soy milk. A bit traditional compared to other cafes who have upped their game.

LA VITTA CAFE SITUATED AT BELOW BAR SOUTHAMPTON IS A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND DRINK OFFERING A VAST ARRAY OF FOODS AND DRINKS.. A CHOICE OF BEERS. CIDERS. & WINES. IT'S A GREAT PLACE WOODEN DECKING WOODEN TABLES AND CHAIRS TO MATCH DECKED OUT WITH A RUSTIC LOOK OF WINE BOTTLES IN THE FRONT WINDOW A SMALL GUITAR AND GARLIC HANGING FROM ABOVE ITS A LOVELY SETTING.. TO BE HONEST THIS IS MY FIRST VISIT BUT I HAVE TO SAY! I'D DEFINITELY COME BACK AGAIN..

It was a bit strange , seemed like none goes here for lunch , as we were alone. The coffee latte was tasty , however the cups could be cleaner. The food was freshly made which was good and the cheese on our dishes was delicious. But a bit more salad on the plates would make a better impression. I had croque madame and my partner had chicken panini. I think it’s a good place for pizzas because they have a special real oven for pizza. but for lunch maybe not the most interesting place to be. The staff was friendly.

The pizza was bland, nothing special but at least not that expensive. However I highly doubt their hygiene - most of the chair cushions were dirty and when we arrived at our table it wasn't yet cleaned from the previous customers. When I went to the washrooms I noticed spider net, the toilet seat was broken and the floor didn't seem clean. On a good note, the place is cosy and the Italian beer was good. Moreover the service was fast and the waitress was friendly.

We stumbled upon this place after all the main Southampton chain restaurants were full. Really glad we did. It was friendly with great service. We ate large woodfire pizzas, fresh hummus and warm toasted bread. There was crepes on the menu as well but we were too full to try. Only one suggestion, a bit of background music would have been nice.
