A lovely pub but unfortunately ruined by the rude staff behind the bar after I found a little fly in the ice in my drink and also 2 ants in my whisky and cola. I flagged this to the staff and they were as rude to say that I put these in the drink myself.

So Three Kings doesn’t have to follow the rules. In the half hour we were there yesterday more than 10 people came in. None checked in, sanitised hands or wore masks. Staff happily chatted to them while they were served at the bar. Not one person was reminded of the rules. I spoke to manager who said it wasn’t his job to challenge people. Richmond has the highest COVID infection rate in London.

Dunno about you fellow trip-ites, but when you get staff rushing to welcome you into a pub, you get the feeling of "are they pleased to see me or my money?" A traditional looking boozer lured us in and the staff fussed over us. We just had a beer in the garden patio area but some of the outdoor sofas looked a bit unwelcoming - could do with a clean. The tables and chairs were fine though, but the narrow side street running behind seems to be a cut through for huge lorries which made it harder to chill out. May try the food and quiz next time - prepared to give the eager staff another run out.

The wonderful owners who built this pub up in recent years have moved on but, thankfully the new ones are smart enough not to have ruined it, which sometimes happens when people take over successful pubs - they tinker with what made it good and ruin it. NOT HERE. Still same brilliant, attentive, friendly staff and manager Diana whom we all knew anyway, still same brilliant chef Tom. Still great beer. I have been to the pub several times just for drinks and for food, usually for Sunday lunch where the food has been excellent- roast beef, pork or lamb all recommended! However I visited last month for midweek dinner. There seemed to have a newbie behind the bar. He was a little unsure when the kitchen opened and it took over 30 minutes for my order to arrive even though the pub was empty. The food was not up to the typical standard - tasteless and dry ( cajun chicken and steak) !Hopefully it was just a one off. I have read reviews that the food quality has gone down. I hope this is not the case.

The selection of beers and ales was awesome; the ambiance of the place is great - a true Rugby Pub; and the food was amazing. I had Wild Boar Sausage and Mash - the sauce was excellent - not the typical brown gravy you get at pubs. This was nuanced. So, grab some friends and order a pint and some food. After previous visits to the 3 Kings I decided that I would re-visit with my daughter to hopefully sample their excellent cuisine and enjoy their good hospitality. Sadly my expectations weren't met. We decided we would share a squid starter which when it arrived might just as well have been a plate of battered balls as the amount of fish inside them was miniscule. My daughter for her main ordered salmon on a bed of vegetables which when it arrived was totally overcooked and looked extremely dry. I ordered a chicken pie (their pies are normally excellent) which when I dug into it was very greasy and not up to their normal standard. On finishing our meals, nobody came to clear our plates or offer us the opportunity to see a desert menu. When they did finally arrive (about an hour later) I asked for an Americano only to be told that they had cleaned the coffee machine (it was 8pm) and it would take them 30 minutes to set it back up.After the fine food and service I had been server on four or five previous visits I can't say how disappointed I was. I don't know whether they have had a change of chef or a change of management or whether they just had an off evening but it has put me off returning for quite some time.

I'm not local to Twickenham, but been the the Three Kings a few times, particularly on quiz night. Knowing it gets busy with we had booked a table for 6 and then we where given a table for 4, with some seats on the end. We waited a little while and no one brought us any menus, so we went and asked for them ourselves. The young girl that came to take our order appeared quite new but she was very pleasant. On quiz night the only option is the burger menu, they're pretty good for pub burgers but very greasy! And they weren't cooked to some of the parties specification. All this would have been a pretty average visit, until the bill came. When the bill came a friend of mine asked for it to be changed and the service charge to be taken off. OK so you might be thinking we are being unfair to the member of staff serving us but in other restaurants I have always been led to believe that a service charge is a)discretionary b)doesn't go to the staff member so it's better for them that you pay in cash and c)you should be informed that their is a service charge. We where more than happy to leave the girl a tip, and where planning to do so. But considered the service charge to be a little excessive considering we had to get up and get our own menus and ask to order more drinks - that's not efficient service that you would expect to pay a service charge for. The girl came back to us and quite rudely and abruptly asked us why we wanted to take it off. It appeared as if she had been told to do so and felt quite uncomfortable doing it. We explained our reasons as I mentioned above and told her we still wanted to leave her a tip. She came back with the adjusted bill no bother. For ease, I went to pay our entire bill on my card rather than us all paying individually. At the same time a friend of mine went to the bar to order some drinks, he ordered his drinks first but when I arrived at the bar with my bill the barman turned to him and said 'I will get you those drinks, i just need to deal with her first'. To this I said, can I pay this on my card please and then I'll also leave some cash. This is where in front of the entire pub he began to raise his voice and shout at me about the service charge, we've sat at a table we should expect to pay it and told me he now had to take it out of his own pocket to give to 'the man upstairs'. When I tried to tell him again how we wanted to leave a tip he yelled back how he didn't want my tips he just wanted me to pay the service for sitting at a table. Like I say, I've been to the three kings before and never have I had to pay a charge for table service, at the end of the day it's a pub! And never have I ever been shouted at by a member of staff for not wanting to pay the service charge, they usually appreciate that it's not going in 'the man upstairs's' pocket and is going into theirs instead. Had my friend not already ordered those drinks, we would have left as quickly as we could! But it's safe to say I won't be returning anytime soon. I can appreciate he may have felt hard done by (even though he wasn't the one serving us anyway) however I would love to know why this is a justifiable reason to shout at a young girl in front of an entire busy pub?

We like a good Sunday Roast and are always on the look out for somewhere new. We found some good reviews of The Three Kings and decided to give it a go. We emailed them to ask what time they served food and whether we needed to book. Joanna replied and told us that last orders would be 1730 (just right as we prefer to eat later) and that if we wanted to come later best to book. I asked her to book for the four of us at 1600.As it happened, we changed plans and got there about 1500. No problem as there were tables available. Very polite and cheerful barperson, since found out her name was Anne Marie, greeted and seated us. The menu made good reading but we were there for the roasts so that's what we chose. My son-in-law (who is a chef) and I had the French Onion Soup to start, we then had the Pork, Lamb and Beef. They were all very nice, hot and plenty of it. Tasted great. All with Yorkshires. Didn't even have to ask.Crumble with custard and Sticky Toffee Pudding to follow. All in all an excellent time was had by all of us. We will definitely return to here next time we are in the area. We stabled across this pub by chance, whilst walking from Arthur's on the green back towards Twickenham centre. Upon arrival, we was made to feel very welcome by the owner and her team. We sat in the "sun trap" garden which was delightful. The team were so helpful and the atmosphere so good, that we decided to return to the pub after the game too.We ordered food, which was first class and very tasty.I will definitely be returning.

Went here for dinner with friends who live in the area. Something for everyone on menu and reasonably priced. Two of us had steak the other two the burger. All rated their meals delicious. Staff were friendly and service was reasonable quick. Only downside, and this is just a personal view, they had a live band on, the band were not the best I have heard but neither were they the worse but for the small bar area they were very loud so conversation went out the window, in fact we left and went somewhere quieter. I feel the band could have come on at 10pm rather than 9pm to allow diners to have a coffee and brandy after their meal and have some conversations but alas this was not to be as I couldn't even hear my friend who was sitting next to me unless I put my ear to her face and she shouted. Because of this I have rated as a 3 but could quite easily have been a 4

We live locally and really love this pub. We've enjoyed lunch and dinner here and every time have a good experience. The food is great. The beer and wine selection is also impressive and we love the atmosphere whether we go as a couple, with family or friends. It's definitely somewhere we always recommend!!

The Three Kings is a lovely pub, we occasionally pop in for a drink or two. It has plenty of space, lots of seating, very friendly staff and a wide selection of drinks. This weekend we visited for dinner on Sunday. We booked a table and pre-booked our choice of roast as they advised us they often sell out during the lunchtime service. The choice was: beef, lamb or pork belly. This in itself is a great idea if you are eating later, it means you won't be disappointed to arrive and find they have sold out.3 Beef & 1 Pork Belly Roast - all absolutely incredible. The portion sizes were big, certainly no scrimping on the meat or veg. The beef was cooked to perfection, it melted in the mouth and was full of flavour. The pork-belly was succulent and tasty and the crackling was perfection. Both roasts accompanied by roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, green beans, carrots and Yorkshire puddings. All of it, cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would highly recommend The Three Kings for a Sunday Roast! The best I have eaten in a restaurant/pub in a very long time. You might consider £15.95 for Roast Beef expensive, but you are paying for quality and it was worth every penny.Ideal for families - high chairs are available to borrow. They also allow dogs into the pub.Pub garden with ample seating and heaters if required.

So popped in to watch the FA cup replay between Man U v West Ham with my friend who's a regular (and West Ham fan) and was surprised to see that on both screens in pub featuring the champions league games with no British teams featuring . Given the importance of the FA cup game asked if one of the two tv's could be switched so we could watch. We were advised that they would not action our request and were spoken to very rudely by the bar staff and so we thanked them for their lack of cooperation and left immediately. I guess if you support Barcelona or Bayern Munich this this is a great pub, in all other circumstances avoid this pub at all cost given the many other friendly pubs in the area.

Visited on a rainy bank holiday, had reserved a table, there was a nice table reserved by the fire that remained empty throughout our visit while we were seated on a drafty table with less atmosphere. The food was typical pub grub but I thought rather over priced I feel pie, even homemade is expensive at over £12. One of us needed gluten free food and the only main she could eat was roast without gravy or yorkshire pud, which unfortunately is often the case in pubs. I had the roast pork, which was good and filling, it would have been nice to have been offered apple sauce, no mint sauce was offered with the lamb either. The Eton mess was nice and again was the only gluten free option. With a little attention to detail and more choice on the menu this would be a nice place to go. Service was ok, not poor but not especially good considering we were the only customers eating when we visited.

This is a pub with a bit of character - open log fire, reasonable selection of both draft and craft ales and very accpetable food - plus- on the night we were there, some pretty full on live music from a really excellent band "The Lost Mojos". Starting with a groaning meat taster plank from the grill ( think every meat known to man, with the strange exception of lamb!) and following this with a couple of pints of Twickenham Spring Ale while soaking up the music made for a really good night out

I tend to come here for catch up with a friend. Drinks are usually served at the right temp and although I've not eaten here the food looks delicious and plenty. Go to the back area if you are in a group and grab the sofa.

Our first visit for a Sunday lunch as our usual venue was fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised! Very generous portions of homely food, my pork was melt in the mouth with fantastic crackling and my boyfriend's lamb was equally good. My only complaint was our Yorkshire puddings were burnt on top, we had a wonky table and staff could have been a little bit more attentive. Otherwise we departed very sated and agreed we would visit again.

Had Sunday lunch here! On arrival our reservation had disappeared, but we were given another table! They claimed to of had a busy weekend & had run out of prosecco!!!!!! So we had a glass of lively champagne with a strawberry in. We both had burgers, which were cooked exactly as we'd requested. Service was good, accurate, but 10% service charge was added & I'd of preferred to tip directly. But was alright. Was really busy & seemed popular. Can't compare to the crown in st Margarets, but not a bad contender!

I visited the Three Kings with my daughter and her boyfriend. This was my fourth visit and I was as impressed as I was first time round. The pub has an excellent atmosphere, a large open fire and a very good menu. As it was a Tuesday evening we were offered a free bottle of wine with our dinner. I had a chicken and wild mushroom pie which was very obviously home made, succulent pieces of chicken, large mushrooms all in a beautiful sauce. For pudding I had apple, rhubarb and blackberry crumble which like the main course was homemade and totally scrumptious. The pub is a free house and has good beers from a local twickenham brewery. The landlady is very friendly and takes time to chat to the patrons.I would definitely recommend.

Service was enthusiastic but not professional. All plates were cold. Unacceptable.Xmas Turkey was industrial meat. The pork was well received and enjoyed. One Lamb ( cut off the leg in chunks in a kitchen somewhere ) was mostly fat and the modest proportion of meat tough and inedible. It was taken off the bill - but as always ( we ) customers are torn between putting up with something unpleasant or making a fuss ( or taking a stand ) and destroying any good feelings of others on our table. Find somewhere else until the place improves quality and professional standards I think.

There is nothing whatsoever special about this pub apart from it's drinks prices which are truly outrageous. This has to be the most expensive pub in Twickenham.Take plenty of cash if you are stupid enough to pay what they charge for drinks at this decidedly mediocre Twickenham pub.Shocking !

Went here before & after a Harlequins game. The place is cosy, the smell of log fire makes the place feel like at home. Ate cheesy chips, and I must say, it was the best cheesy chips I've ever had. Would love to go back and try a proper meal! Also, if you're a fan of Nick Frost, I saw him there, apparently it's his local, or his pub...

Came on on Monday night with wife and friend. I had lamb cutlets, others had steak pie. Totally awesome food. I tried some of the pie and it was amazing too. Meat hasn't tastes this good in an age. A chap I know was in too and he had the pie and like my wife said it was really filled up with perfect steak. This is all at about 14 quid. In a restaurant you would be talking over 20 quid. The food was exquisite. Atmosphere nice too, smooth music, low, and perfect service - better service here from people also working the bar, than we usually get in places that only do food. This is a pub selling first class restaurant food with great friendly service too.

I ordered a hot chocolate with cream. The barista used the left over hot chocolate milk in the jug to make my hot chocolate, even though I requested fresh milk and hot chocolate. When I asked her to please get a fresh jug and milk to make my drink, she started making faces. She then got another jug from the sink which was not washed. She also made my hot chocolate extremely hot and frothy. It was tasteless and I burnt my tounge. She made it frothy so she could use less milk for the drink. She filled the cup all the way to the top but after the while when the froth settled, it was only half a cup even though I paid £4.50 for this drink. Absolutely disgusted with the service. Horrible experience. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Barista’s name was Kasiya or something beginning with the letter K. She was maybe Romanian or Polish.

Twickenham used to be great for pubs, now sadly they're losing touch ending up as at best mundane, and worst as simple booze dives. This one still has what it takes however. Putting the excellent range of beers (though often interspersed with somewhat trendy 'craft beers' - still a bone of contention for the real ale buffs) to one side for a moment, the pub retains it's original character. Real fires in winter, decent (rather than beautiful) garden for summer. A turntable for music (!) - and then that played at a pleasant volume. Staff are helpful, informed and hard working. Food looks tasety (I haven't tried it but it seems well prepared and unpretentious), and good value for money. Snacks are pricey - but then show me a pub where they aren't. True this is a real ale lovers CAMRA type pub. But the friendly staff and, lets not forget, the friendly, sometimes eccentric, local clientele, make this a welcoming place to go for a quick drink or an evenings relaxation. Well worth a trip.
