Barmy Arms in Richmond upon Thames

Decided to give the Barmy a try as I saw it was under new management & certainly made the right choice. Decided to have a bite to eat with my pint &so decided on the Fish & Chips, wow! It was excellent seriously got to be THE BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had. The service was top restaurant quality too very polite and helpful staff. The atmosphere and pub location is amazing. I would highly recommend giving the Barmy a visit, I’ll certainly be going again & again to try the other dishes on the menu.

Karim is fantastic, we always look forward to seeing him when we visit, he always remembers us and is super friendly.

Visited Barmy Arms for the 100th time and as always had the best experience ever. Lovely Karim always makes us feel at home. We can't wait for the hot weather so we are able to start going there all the time. Thank you all xxx

The service was fairly poor. They wouldn't let us start a tab, for example. The barstaff seemed more interested in filming Instagram of the quiz than serving anyone a pint, so long waits and bad service. The beer is extortionate, well over £7 per pint. Food very average. They had a fire and the heating on so the place was roasting. It has a nice view of the river but I wouldn't recommend this place.

I was at the Barmy arms on Saturday after the women’s six nations match. I got 2 pints and an amaretto on the rocks. It cost £28 to be served in plastic cups. I was told by the bar staff it was hiked up because of the match but they were also in disbelief. Immoral and outrageous pricing. Not ok. My ticket to the Match was less

Always go when in Twickenham It's a must see.

We had a lovely lunch at the Barmy Arms in Twickenham! The food and service from Beth and Karim was perfect, they were very accommodating for our dog and baby. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Outdoors no smoking area! Beer is a bit pricey but they have local brew.

Karim was very friendly and very nice

A lovely location and a really homely feel. Food was surprisingly good, really tasted homemade and although we had a bit of a wait for it, Karim, the manager, was an absolute star, super helpful and super friendly.

Really lovely atmosphere, beautiful pub and garden. Food was really really good and the attention to detail in the pub just makes it a special dining experience. Best place for miles for a girls evening like tonight. We will all be back regularly.

Absolutely incredible team. My wife and I popped out for dinner and drinks this evening on a rare night our without our kids. Initially we were disheartened to see a family in the pub that consisted of 2 adults drinking and ignoring their 2 children running around like hooligans. The fantastic management soon dealt with the problem and we were both overjoyed to see that the pub stuck to their 'no children after 7pm' rule despite the parents being very obstructive and rude the staff remained calm and professional. It's refreshing to be able to enjoy a peaceful drink in a great atmosphere. P.S The pub looks bloody fantastic. The outdoor seating area was like nothing I have seen before!!! Thanks to everyone at the barmy for a great evening.

Brilliant pub in a great location. My wife and I had a really tasty lunch which was made even better by the great bar and waiting team. Everyone was so polite and friendly and really made us feel "at home". Had a great chat with the new manager who again was very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to summer lunches in the new garden overlooking the river. 10 out of 10 all round

Lovely pub - light, spacious & a great location right on the river. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Food delicious. Outdoor seating is also perfect for the summer.

Must be the slowest service I have ever experienced. I had to wait for 15 minutes at the bar and I had to turn around as I simply fed up. 4 bartenders and few customers, very poor and slow.

Nice pub by the Thames to have a few drinks. The barman was great. Didn't eat there. Nice place.

I have been going to the Barmy Arms for the past 15years . Had so many brilliant nights on rugby days afternoon lunches drinks and quiz nights. A huge thanks to karim who had always given us the best friendliest service I. Twickenham. Looking forward to many more visits in the summer months ahead

So many things to Love about The Barmy Arms .... Wonderful location, great food , warm and cosy atmosphere and a fabulous, beautifully lit outdoor area right by the river opposite the infamous Eel Pie Island. ...but by far, the best thing about this pub is the very Lovely Sarah, our waitress for the evening who is quite simply 'soup for the soul'... restoring our faith that good old fashioned hospitality still exists and going over and above to make our pre gig dinner something we will always remember .... So we made the trip from Brighton to The Barmy Arms to see our good friends Dec and John. Dec has recently taken over as GM here and as we expected he has worked his magic on this pub! It has a lovely cosy feel inside with an amazing outdoor area right by the river. We had a wonderful roast dinner and the staff were so friendly! If you are local to this pub or just visiting you must pop in for a drink or some food! You won't regret it.

Food was excellent, although unfortunately our meals took a long time to arrive. Plus, when we ordered dessert we were told they couldn't provide that within a decent amount of time and because they didn't want us waiting up to an hour, they just said they couldn't serve us desserts. And no after dinner drinks either were offered. Not sure why they were so busy (and we'd booked) as didn't feel overly full. Would I return? Yes, as the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. Maybe next time we might even get dessert 😊

Karem was absolutely amazing. He helped us out, even though we didn't have a bookings he made it posibil to have a table and enjoy my mother in law birthday. Take you!!

By far one of our favourite pubs in Twickenham. Recently their new chef is producing excellent meals - highly recommend the beef and vegan burgers.. and the house seasoned chips are utterly amazing. Seriously good food.The service is always friendly and attentive (with Karim being an absolute highlight.. he is chatty, welcoming and kind. He loves our dog and always gives her a treat and a pat.. he’s always helpful and friendly). And did I mention the amazing view of the river?!?! Love love love.

Popped in to our old local after moving away several years ago to find our fave Barman Karim is still behind the bar. He greeted us with open arms and made our night super lovely. Such a friendly man.

The food was a-ma-zing! I have not been to a lot of pubs in the UK before, but this one was cosy, friendly and very welcoming.

Wonderful staff especially kareem, always quick to help me and talk to me when I am alone. Lovely space. Always enjoy whether I’m alone or with friends I would definitely recommend to anyone. Has a nice outdoor area + separate outdoor smoking area. Indoors is also very nice they also have events like quiz night.

I love this pub and have been coming here since I was a kid. On the river spacious front area and some parking. We ordered the Sunday roast dinners. Yummy and big portions. I would say that ordering the half chicken was actually a lot of work to remove all of the bones. Also no cranberry sauce. I know turkey wasnt on the menu but a sweet jelly would be nice ! Oh also I think every waiter asked if we wanted drinks. G

Best Sunday Lunch I have had in ages. My girlfriend and I visited today after hearing from many friends that the new manager has brought the Barmy back to life, and we were blown away. Great food, Pub looks brilliant and the staff and manager (who took the time to chat to us even though it was packed out) couldn't do enough for us. We will be back and we will be recommending this place to our friends!

Super cosy pub but drinks VERY expensive! I was charged £11.20 for ONE large glass of Pinot Noir despite the drinks menu stating £9.20!!!! The barman said “those menus are out of date”!!!!! Not happy!

Visiting from Australia, looking for some nice pub grub and heard about this pub from all around, Had the chicken wings and confit pork, Absolutely 10/10 amazing food, best pub grub I’ve had since being here, Service was attentive and welcoming will definitely hopefully return in the future!

Nice pub..but too much was going on as they where preparing for something for the following day ..spoiled a nice evening ..then they opened the doors and we where so cold..we ask them later if they could close the doors . our fries where half raw......

I can dare to say this is The best Sunday roast in London! Perfectly cooked veggies and meat, fascinating gravy sauce harmonised amazingly on a plate. Especially, as a carrot hater, I was surprised by the amount of carrots, but my view over cooked carrots was upside down. I realised that I actually liked cooked carrots yet I just hadn’t tasted a well-cooked one!!! I highly recommend this place!

Headed to this pub to watch some rugby. Great service. a worker called chloe had great recommendations on food and drinks and a great knowledge too whilst also pouring the best pints. Also was a very kind and caring person. Great pints. Amazing food (The halloumi and the chips 100%) great outdoor seating area.

Best sunday roast ever! Meat is thick, the potatoes are crunchy, and the carrots were the best I’d ever had. The owner Karim and the bar staff, Craig and Olivia were all very friendly and welcoming. Will be coming back again for food and drinks 👌

If you are looking for a perfect Sunday roast, this is the one is what you’re longing for. The 28 day aged beef was juicy and marinated fantastically, which made it worth enough to order this dish itself. An the carrots! I really wonder how they cooked it. I usually don’t like the cooked carrots due to the weird smell kicks in the aftertaste. However, their carrot was different to others, which made my entire view over the cooked carrots! Perfectly marinated and cooked carrots not only made amazing harmony with other parts but also I - one of carrot haters- actually finish up carrots. Olivia, Craig and Karim’s wonderful customer service with kindness and friendliness helped me to enjoy the time in the restaurant. I’m glad to get to know this place and recommend to others :)

My wife and I had a lovely lunch time meal of steak and kidney pie and slow cooked pork for my wife, who also suffers with coeliac disease, (both superb). The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive especially Lewis/louie? who was very helpful with allergen advice, the pub has a good atmosphere with views of the river and good selection of beers, including gluten free options and will definitely return.

The Barmy Arms hosted our engagement party last night and it was absolutely outstanding! The service was incredible, prompt replies from Dave and Ben from the get go and Ben & the team did everything from putting up our decs to making an incredible photo montage for us, we cant thank them enough! Drinks were topped up for us all the way through the evening which kept our crowd very happy and made the night flow well. We would definitely recommend the Barmy Arms, Ben, Dave and the team for any event! Thank you all so much! It was better than we could have imagined. Lucy & Kags xx

Came along on a busy Saturday for the rugby game. Service was excellent and food was fab! Will be returning!

Utterly Dreadful - came here for Sunday lunch by the river was told that food would take 30 minutes - 50 minutes later, and after 4 forgotten complaints the food arrived - the manager claimed my partner was told it would take 45 minutes but I'd heard him say 30 - so he lied to us and tried to cover it up by blaming my partner - he then told us it was because everyone was eating at the same time - there was no food being served - when it arrived it was absolutely terrible while being expensive - head into Church Lane or the White Swan as this place is awful

Went for Sunday lunch. The location on the river is fantastic. Unfortunately the lunch was horrible. Two out of three meals were served cold. - Macaroni cheese & beef roast. The roast meat was extremely dry & hard. I think both were made the day before and warmed slightly to serve. The manager tried to rectify things and reimbursed me as well as providing my daughter with an alternative meal. The additional chips kindly given to us by the manager didn’t arrive. One of the servers lanyard’s fully submerged into my drink so I asked for a replacement and of course that didn’t arrive either. Not a good day. I recommend you go somewhere else.

A fantastic pub offering a really unique menu. I was on my way back to the station from a 2 day meeting and popped into this place before the dinner time rush. Their menu was affordable and had a great variety (some pub classics and some other cuisines). I went for the Korean chicken burger (picture below), and it was lovely- crispy, juicy, great flavours, and the veg was very fresh. The staff, particularly the older gentleman with an accent, were lovely and very helpful recommending food. I would definitely come here again as the food was great, service was fantastic, and the location next to the river was very nice.

A friend suggested that we should have Sunday lunch here. TBH, I was not expecting much as I've had some disappointing pub food of late, but the Barmy Arms exceeded expectations by a large margin. Their own bitter is excellent, the food is way above average and evidently prepared with care. The staff were very good. The riverside location is charming. What's not to like?

Great pub near the river overlooking the Twickenham rowing club. Nice pint of Guinness, menu looks varied and locally sourced. Didn't have time to eat during our brief visit.

Great place for a drink by the river

Visited this pub on a rare sunny day. The pub garden was busy, but Nat found us a table after a short wait. We ordered food and it came very quickly and was amazing! The bar staff we’re friendly and helpful. And the pub had a lively but relaxed vibe along the river.

When we visited there they had no food.

Was there yesterday 09 September nice looking pub ask for menu told 1.30 wait said ok as advertised good food so ordered then told no classic meal available no meat asked what do you have answer not a lot so left very disappointed

A great spot by the river which is pretty well geared up for match day. Quick service, good beer and a pleasant location. Just the place before the game on a sunny day.

Went after England rugby , absolutely rammed and VERY loud .
