Having been stranded in Benson Marina due to water conditions on the River Thames we took refuge in this pub for a couple of hours. It's a really nice place. We were made to feel very welcome by the bar staff and customers. It was a relaxed sort of place. We didn't have food but there was a good selection of beers and it looked very much like it did cater for foodies with plenty of dining areas. I am very sure we will be calling in again as it's just a 5 minute walk from the Marina past st Helens church and turn left. The road leading to it was quite dark so make yourself be seen if on foot.

Had a lovely lunch here 😋 I had the steak sandwich with a side order of chips, which were the best! Proper homemade chips not brought in ready to fry ones! I'm usually wary of steak sandwiches because sometimes the steak can be a bit chewy, as cheaper cuts are usually used, but the steak was lovely and tender. The service was very good too. Would definitely recommend.

Visited the Three Horseshoes for a works Christmas Dinner and to mark 4 staff leaving. We all had the set menu of either 2 or 3 courses. We were greeted on arrival, and offered a glass of prosecco as per the set menu, though did not get the coffee and mince pies at the end of the meal. The food was delicious, and everyone commented on how nice the atmosphere was. The staff were relatively attentive considering how full the front bar was and the other groups dining. The bill however was a different story. Having collected monies from the team in advance so that one payment could be made, I was suprised when I re-checked my figures at home that we had been overcharged by £80. I have so far failed to get a response from the Three Horse Shoes in respect of this query which is an extremely large amount of money for me to be out of pocket at any time, let alone on the run up to Christmas. I would recommend to all diners to check their bills for extra charges and take a list of the full details of set menu's to ensure that you recieve all the items that are being paid for.

Great little pub, has a beer garden out back and seating out the front by the road. Food is 3 stars because I've not eaten there but I imagine the food is fantastic. It certainly smells it. Food is served at intervals though, something like 12pm-3pm then again from 6pm-8/9pm this is the main reason I've not eaten there. Don't let that stop you though just check what the food schedule is before going I guess if your keen to eat there. There is no car park.

Cold restaurant, poor service had to wait a long time (25-30 mins) from main to dessert, lots of bosses etc. walked past our empty plates, only 1 waitress, but not busy, as only 1 couple as well as us. This is now a gastro pub essentially so orientated to food, which incidentally is pricey, more of this later. The bar had two real ales, Fuller's Pride and a Brakspeare. I opted for the latter. The interior of the pub has a couple of rooms at the front, with some chaise lounges around the room. It is not a traditional pub anymore, more of an eatery with a bar. At the rear in what was previously a segue into a yard and garden had been constructed an expensive looking glazed area with bi-folding doors, this is where meals appear to be mainly served. I opted for the pork. The beer was flat and coming to the end of the barrel, it was not particularly inspiring. Again, food is what they are pushing here not the beer. Food arrived, and for a £20 meal I expected more. The pork was lukewarm and didn't have any crackling forming. The gravy, which the menu blurb claimed was the pub's shining hour was hardly present and the rest was below par. The Yorkshire's were tiny and the batter had failed to fully cook through. Therefore when the bill arrived I was very surprised to see they had also sneaked on a service charge of £5! The pub is a beautiful, historic, and lovely village hostelry of the kind we need to protect. However on current form it needs owners that show it, and its customers, more respect. I can not recommended the place. If you want better real ale, though I can't vouch for the food, then I'd suggest you visit the Hook Norton managed pub, The Crown, in the centre of the village.

Pleasant interior, prompt service, drinks ok, but the food, oh dear! Someone ought to tell them it's not ok to charge upper range prices for Sunday lunch and dish up pre-frozen, partly warmed up, tough and tasteless meat slices and crusty, hard veg. "Extra" of leeks in cheese sauce offered, but someone had eaten the cheese before they made the sauce! Had planned to order pudding, but main course frightened us off.

Fantastic place for a midweek meal. Partner opted for the linguine and I had a sirloin steak, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a silky smooth peppercorn sauce. Still a reasonable service and we will definitely be back.

Opportunity presented for a quick lunch out last week. We decided to try The Three Horseshoes, partly to have a snoop as we'd driven past so often during its refurbishment! We were struck by the Tardis-like inside that belies kerbside judgement. The front bar was very cosy and welcoming - I could happily have whiled away an afternoon there! We were taken to the restaurant area at the back, and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and bright it was, with glass doors into the garden and a glass panelled roof. The service was polite and efficient; the menu offered good variety including some welcome, smaller, lunch options. Our order arrived very swiftly, and was very enjoyable. Sadly we didn't have time for dessert so I can't comment on this - hopefully next time, and hopefully soon!

I hosted my 40th birthday here with 14 guests and we had a fabulous evening. Emily helped me with organising everything and was incredibly helpful throughout. We had our own private room which was lovely and a set party menu with starters, seafood and meat platters then dessert. We had a couple of dietary requirements too but this was catered for with no fuss. All the food was brilliant. The service was fantastic ensuring we had everything we needed, bread, chips and drinks topped up as required. This is a wonderfully relaxed venue but still delivering high quality food and wine. I would certainly recommend for a party but equally encourage people to come for lunch or dinner too. Thank you again for such a lovely evening. Nikki.

I Wasn’t expecting too much from a pub dinner in a rather nondescript Oxfordshire village on a Tuesday evening but I was most pleasantly surprised. The pub is very old and as such cosy and inviting. There is a good selection of draught beer served at one of the fireside tables by most welcoming staff. The menu is varied and original and prices are reasonable. One of the specials of the day was sea bass. It was as good as any top London restaurant. The 45 minute drive was well worth it and I shall be returning soon.
