Lovely pub which was very busy. Food really tasty and drink quality good too. The owner brought out a dish for us to try on the house! We were made to feel very special. Thank you.

The staff are quite pleasant. We had a brunch, which had served outside as it was a sunny day. However the brunch arrived luke warm. Been here several times and usually food arrives hot.

Excellent roast dinner. This gastro pub never fails. The roast beef Sunday dinner was absolutely gorgeous. We all really enjoyed the food. The doughnut dessert is divine and home made tiramisu was a dream. Couldn’t fault anything

This place is a true gem. My elderly parents go there every Saturday for lunch - it's the highlight of their week!! The food is FANTASTIC and all the staff are so kind, caring and wonderful to mum and dad. Thank you James and Magda xxxx

Invited friends for lunch and everybody thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great service and food.....once again the bread and hummus starters to share were really plentiful and tasty. The main courses of salmon were delicious so they said and my chicken Caesar salad was massive with lots of super marinaded anchovies and a large chicken breast....nice sauce too! The desserts of strudel and ice cream were really enjoyed and due to the fact that nobody fancied alcohol, the bill was very reasonable. We had a really superb Sunday roast at this lovely old pub, a twelve and a half per cent surcharge (tip) is added to your bill.

Emilio is fantastic - Very Charismatic and attentive. He made what is always a culinary delight all that more special with his warmth and extensive knowledge of the menu. We will be back.

This is our favourite spot and family and friends always enjoy dining here. However, on Sunday evening we were there for dinner with friends and a table near ours really spoilt our evening. The whole evening they were sending back their food and complaining. They were extremely rude, arrogant and aggressive. The staff, who is always friendly and polite, were trying their best to accomodate them but all of them were really very loud and aggressive creating a really bad atmosphere in the pub. We have always eaten very well there but these people complained just about all the food. It was really awful and extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable. I and our friends really hope these people do not go back as it is really a favourite pub to eat and relax

This is a nice casual place to eat wonderful service highly recommended I had the rigatoni Bolognese which was really nice with a an IPA I drank the anchor man IPA meal was top notch will be coming again forgot to take a picture of my meal but I will show the IPA just remember it changes regularly the cask ale beer enthusiasts

Waiting an hour from starter to main is unacceptable without any explanation and being offered nibbles.

Always such a pleasure to eat at this wonderful pub. The menu is full of great dishes to suit every diner. I visited for lunch with my Mother and friends. We are never disappointed, service is impeccable with nothing too much trouble for Magda. She glides from table to table, smiling and checking everything is perfect.

Wow! What a little gem of a place. We were in a party of 14 and couldn’t of been looked after any better. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff very attentive, particularly Sinead who looked after us for the evening. I will definitely be visiting again.

Thank you all yet again another exceptional meal and service last night for dinner with our friends in the Three Compasses. This place never disappoints the food was just delicious all four of us had three courses & asked for our compliments to be passed on to the chefs. The pork cheeks, halloumi & zucchini starters, the clam and prawn linguini, calves liver & steak mains topped off by creme brûlée were exceptional. The service was outstanding, the staff are so professional and welcoming. Thank you for a great night!

Really really disappointing! Me and my mum went for Sunday lunch, they had run out of chicken by 2:15pm and also run out of the nut loaf by 2:45pm. So only Beef left on the menu. However if we were told we could have pre booked chicken then we could have but we’re not told this until it was too late! The beef was lovely, but that was as far as it goes, as for everything else it was such let down. The staff wasn’t at all bothered and one of the managers actually said that there were lots of other choices on the menu, but when you come on a Sunday with Sunday lunch in mind then nothing else on the menu was cutting it! Not enough vegetables- half a carrot, one floret of broccoli which was rock hard and a pinch of greens, a scrape of purée on the plate, not enough gravy, roast potatoes were dry and no crisp whatsoever to them, as was the Yorkshire pudding also very dry! Would not recommend here and would certainly never be going back here. Absolute rip off for the price!

We ate three courses with friends. The service was phenomenal. We shared a Mediterranean sharing board which was impressive in quantity but little was home made and the hummus was tasteless. My main course was calves liver and although tasty, the plate was rather small (compared to the other 3 plates) served with polenta and not a stick of veg. My wife’s chicken schnitzel was pale and tasteless. Our two friends had the huge beef and ale pie. Dessert was tiramisu and an apple and cherry crumble with custard. These were very nice. All in all, somewhat underwhelming.

It was our first time as a couple at this establishment, I have to say Sinead was outstanding. The hostesses knowledge of the menu was out of this world. This made Claire and myself feel so comfortable and relaxed. Food was exceptional aswell as the service which was amazing. Can not wait to return in the near future.

A lovely quiet out of the way meal. Needed a Sunday dinner after a day out and roast beef with all the trimmings didn’t disappoint it was sublime! Shouldn’t have had the antipasti share platter as a starter but oh my goodness that was good, full with lots of lovely charcuterie meats, breads, salad and mozzarella balls!! Sooo full, the portions are immense and a fabulous treat beit a Sunday dinner or a date to impress

The halloumi fries and zucchini fries are just sensational. They have been added as my starter to my death row meal! 10/10 Sinead was an Angel 😇

We had a great experience at this establishment. The food was wholesome, tasty and well presented. The service was a little slow but the staff were personable and helpful. I enjoyed a beautiful home made pie. My wife asked for an adaptation of a salad which they agreed to. Our friends were pleased with their meals. It was a fun and convivial evening.

We were in the nearby country park and called on the off chance there was a table. Service was outstanding and the food was lovely, especially the Italian food. Kids could have adult food which meant it wasn’t burgers all round. We all came out very happy.

Just left after a delicious evening meal here. The menu was full of a wide range of northern Italian and English dishes and our food didn't disappoint. The talegio and calamari starters were delicious and portions generous especially the pork chop and linguine mains.
