Best pub in CHARMINSTER! Great beer and the Landlord and Landlady Rob and Tina are very welcoming - a good authentic traditional pub!! A Freehouse with a fabulous courtyard garden, skittle alley and vintage tea room. Nice atmosphere and friendly locals. Definitely a pub to visit!

The publican and his wife are very welcoming and make you feel at home in this quaint village pub. The live music is worth stopping in for and would recommend you support a local business. Highly recommend a visit

Lovely little country pub well worth a visit

Went here for live music. This is a music lovers pub. The landlord and landlady are always welcoming. They give opportunities to aspiring musicians and also support musicians in the area. Keeping music live and alive. 10/10

Went in at 12.30 on Saturday lunchtime. Do you serve sandwiches? No sorry, we don't serve food. Despite the huge sign outside advertising great food. So I left.

We were greeted with jovial company as soon as we arrived. We shared great company and were laughing nonstop till we left. A proper community pub with a great atmosphere, brilliant landlady, and landlord and welcoming locals. Set us up a treat, thank you. 😊

First time here. Came for the music, Billy Boy Miskimmins who was 1st rate. Lovely little country pub, you have to walk through the band to get to the toilet🤣. Locals where very friendly, bear was good, great atmosphere. Will definitely visit again👍

Visited from Weymouth on Saturday night, as there was live music on. Great atmosphere, ever so friendly landlord and landlady, happy customers and reasonably priced drinks. Plenty of parking at this atmospheric pub. Looking forward to visiting again. Great evening!

Busy friendly local pub, just how I like them.

Me and my mate were staying in the area at nearby Wolverton Gatehouse from Gosport and Southampton and thankfully we ended up in this pub. I arrived first and Sara the barmaid made me feel welcome straight away and the locals were good as gold. Tina the Landlady came in later and she couldn't do enough for us even giving us a Christmas toilet roll as a momento. A proper friendly drinking pub for a mixed crowd. A local even gave us a lift to the top of the steep hill.. Tina even let me in and made me a coffee to shelter from the rain whilst waiting for the bus. They had 2 ales on and they also have bands play here..

A great pub. You will always get a warm welcome and a good pint. Live music at the weekends.

We stayed the night here after a day walking on the Jurassic coast. Rob and Tina were so welcoming and lovely. Cooked up a fantastic breakfast for us the next day. Brilliant pub with a great atmosphere. Staying here really made our weekend. Thank you

Visited for live music on Saturday night. Great band, friendly crowd. The landlord was especially welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

We visited on an outing in a group of 15 or so. Phoned ahead prior to attending, put a lunch order in. On arrival the landlord, landlady greeted us, showed us to our reserved tables and served us a delightful and sumptuous meal. Cracking location, plenty of parking, premises is in keeping with rest of the village, a real hub of the community. All the staff very friendly, make you feel welcome, well worth a visit, taste the delights and take in the atmosphere.😁👍

Fantastic live music venue. Don't take my word for it, go and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Very reasonably priced drinks. They do food as well but not on our visit.

What do you want from a country pub?? If you wanna arrive, meet friends and leave a bit tiddly after a fun night?? This place can do that. Great staff, welcoming, they keep a good pint and its warm and friendly. The ablutions are a bit basic and unloved but the rest of the establishment makes up for it. Live music and pub grub is available.

First time we have visited this pub this evening. Plenty of parking, when we arrived the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. A friendly welcoming pub, looking forward to visiting again soon to try the pizza’s which looked fab 😀👍🏻

called up and asked for a table for 10 in the evening and they told us that they don’t take bookings and that we could just turn up. then we arrived and they said that they don’t serve food in the evenings and that the chef was asleep.the lady said she couldn’t cater for 10. quite unhappy with the miscommunication but i’m sure it was a mistake they seemed genuine enough.

I stayed in Tina & Rob's B&B room above the pub (18 June 2021) which was cosy and comfy and spotlessly clean with pristine en suite with shower. This is a proper old style local pub with a lively atmosphere in the bar when I was there (if only the England v Scotland fixture had shown similar liveliness). There is an attached skittle hall which doubles as a live band venue as well as a weather proofed garden area and a Tea room /gin palace. Whilst I was going to have a long day out on a charity walk the next day I did manage a pint of their lovely amber ale which was brought to my table and for another time will not resist the delicious smelling food I saw others tucking into. Well done to team Tina &Rob (ably assisted by Sarah) who have used the lockdowns to continue the transformation of this pub.

Great little pub. Extremely friendly landlady and staff who together with a resident father in law were a fountain of local knowledge. The four of us were made very welcome and made to feel at home and our lunch was great. There is also a very quaint and elegant tea room in the next door room.

A first rate, top pub, wonderfully friendly hosts Rob and Tina. Accomodation excellent, big room, large TV on the wall, comfortable beds and a superb double shower. Couldn't ask for more, absolutely sublime. Stayed there for ten nights, 4th - 14th September 2019. Nothing was too much trouble for Rob and Tina who made our stay a holiday to remember whilst researching my Wife's family history; her grandfather was the publican here for some years in the early 1900's and her father was born in the pub. Highly recommended by us and we hope to return at some time. Thanks, Rob and Tina, not forgetting Terry and last but not least, Stella, the dog!
