A lovely old-fashioned pub but well up to speed with coeliac needs. The Sunday lunch was delicious and I enjoyed gluten free Yorkshire Puds! What a treat! They even did separate gluten free gravy. Generous portions and good service. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back.

We are a group of people who are taken from home to various pubs and other venues and the place today was the Three Compasses. The pub does not normally open on a weekday lunchtime, so was opened for this group and was offering a restricted menu. The choice of four starters, mains and desserts were on offer. All the food was good and we had some excellent beer on tap. I had a pint of Tribute and a couple of glasses of wine.all members of the group commented on how well we were treated . Thanks Adam,I am sure we will return.

Came to The Three Compasses on a Saturday for a family lunch. Greeted by a very friendly owner who remembered when I booked 2 weeks prior, I had enquired about gluten free options. Was given the choice of where to sit in the pub - pub itself is quaint and has a lovely feel to it. My husband was very impressed with the good selection of ales namely Tim Taylors Landlord & Tribute. They had a separate gluten free menu and were very accommodating letting me know that the gluten free food is done in a separate fryer. Gluten free fish and chips were made to order and my family enjoyed the rest of the “gluten” menu. The GF fish and chips were delicious. I had the GF Chocolate Brownie to finish which again was excellent. We will 100% be returning here.

My family and I visited this pub at the weekend for a drink and some lunch. The beer was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Lunch was a variety of pub classics - all of which were well presented, good portion sizes and again excellent value. The bar staff were helpful, hospitable and chatty. I would certainly recommend to all families looking for a country pub to visit for a drink and something to eat.

This pub is on one of my cycling routes and I always get a friendly welcome. Food is simple and tasty. Real ale was awesome. Beer garden out the back. If you’re a ‘fancy foodie’ it’s probably not for you but if you’re looking for a country setting, warm welcome, pub food and a great pint then it’s spot on.

Been to the Three Compasses twice during the last month and can not fault it. We are fairly local being only seven miles away and will try to be more regular visitors. The staff are very welcoming and both helpful and polite. There’s a wide selection of drinks and pleasantly not overpriced. The menu is acceptable and there is also a limited “ Specials “ board. Our chosen meals have been excellent, both in presentation and value for money. The portions are generous and, although it is “ pub grub” it is of good quality. Their organisation is excellent under the present conditions and we will return soon.

Recently visited this pub with a large group of friends for an evening of bar skittles, socialising and food. Being a large group our food for the evening was all pre-ordered. When we were ready everything ordered was delivered to the whole group quickly and efficiently and it was all nice and hot. All the food we had was cooked fresh and served hot to everyone. Although not a large pub there was sufficient room to play the bar skittles and for socialising. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning in the near future.

Me and my husband wanted to go to a nice country pub that we haven’t been to before for some lunch. We came across this delightful country pub. The atmosphere was delightful and the locals pulled us into conversations. The food was spectacular and cooked to pure perfection. Georgina who was working was so professional, welcoming and made time for non locals. Nothing was to much of a bother. Georgina is a lovely young lady who looks after the customers and can easily talk to her. She knows what she is doing and is confident with her work. We will be returning here for more food.

Arrived 3:15pm on a Saturday after a long cycle and so too late for food as service was over and the chef had popped out. Bought a pint of cider and sat in the pub garden resigned to being hungry. A few minutes later the bar lady popped out to say the chef had returned and they'd do a special order for me - great pub food and friendly attitude that makes me proud of our country!

Starter was late, when it arrived it was burning hot, so we had to twiddle our thumbs for ten min. before it was cold enough to eat. My gammon was thin and very salty, the fried eggs were solid as rock (no runny yolk). Food aside we had a customer with a dog sitting at the next table and the dog was jumping all over everyone. I love cats and dogs but, I would not like them jumping all over me when I am dressed to go out, neither I would like to stroke a dog to stop him jumping on me while I am eating. We had gone to celebrate my son's good grads in his GCSE's but, as the customers were so rowdy we could not here ourselves think, therefore could not have a conversation. However I can not fault the staff, their service was next to none.

A nice country pub with friendly staff. Food was nice, had two roast beef dinners and a roast beef. Nice and hot and plenty of it! Liked the jugs of gravy too! I didn't have pud as was stuffed but other two did. Both enjoyed them, proper home made, old fashioned crumble and sticky toffee pudding!

Decided to have a mid week treat. When we arrived, there was a party of ladies there for a Christmas meal and the pub was quite busy. We were shown to a table and our order was taken. The food arrived promptly and well presented. My husband and I both had the steak and ale pudding which was very nice indeed. The staff were very friendly, service was very good and the pub had an open fire which made the atmosphere very homely. Will definitely be going back again.

Pizza was fantastic, my partner got gluten free and it was by far the best gluten free pizza base she’s ever had, the texture of the base was spot on, it was almost identical to my regular pizza. Will definitely be going back. Really good price, £23 for two pizzas
