Great staff good knowledge and service, cheese and wine top notch.

We went to Decant on Saturday night as a group of 10 for a birthday meal! Couldn’t fault a single bit of our visit, welcome was lovely, we were guided through all the cheeses on our party boards, service was brilliant with drinks and cheese flowing, and the atmosphere was fab! We had a great night and will definitely be coming back soon, couldn’t recommend any more!

Nice place, good choice off cheeses and wine just a little too busy and cramped when we were there, but hey, it proves it's popular. Only criticism is only 1 toilet. The ladies must be a bit annoyed with this. It's definitely worth a visit for something different in bedford

We went on Saturday eve with another couple. The place is small but don't be put off as the cheese platters , drinks and service is all amazing. Such a great place we loved it and have booked to go back in November . Such lovely staff and let us stay and drink till late no pressure to leave . Just great highly recommend...the cheese is out of this world. Thank you decant

Wow, what a place - recently taken here by my daughter & son in-law this weekend for wine & cheese, but these guys get it so right, great welcome by the lady to be guided through some wines before we picked a nice Italian then we had the cheese & meat sharing boards, we had four of the best cheeses I've ever had, the French guy picks his favourites, and he knows what is talking about as they were amazing. Great wine, amazing cheese and excellent presentation, we'll be back!

We had my dad’s 60th at Decant and the owners could not have been more accommodating. The food was amazing, the drinks were ordered in and personalised and the whole night was just brilliant. We’ve been back multiple times since and it just gets better each time. The staff were the standout quality though. So knowledgable and friendly, we’ll definitely be back soon.

Lovely intimate wine bar just off the high street. Ideal for a date night or quiet catch up with friends. We were made to feel very welcome and were guided through the menu and choices in a professional and friendly manner. Fabulous food and lovely wine

If you want great ambience, I felt like I was back in France, an attentive French host, a Sommelier who knows her wines and cheeses made in heaven. This is the place to go.

A great early Saturday evening cheese and wine experience. Even though it was fully booked we were squeezed in for an hour. The owner chose a selection of cheeses which were excellent. The atmosphere and service was very good with interesting music which was played at a perfect volume so that chatting was comfortable.

Highly recommend this place, tucked up a side alley in Bedford the experience was perfect from start to finish. The staffs knowledge of both the wine and cheese was superb! Will be back!

We were staying around the corner and wanted something light for the evening and felt this was a great option. It exceeded all expectations, they squeezed us in at quite short notice. The cheese and wine were exceptional, the atmosphere very relaxed and the thing that makes this place was the staff. Their passion for their business was infectious. We over ordered, but they happily wrapped up what we didn’t eat so we could take it with us. We will definitely be back.

Decant Wine and Cheese Bar hosted a private function of mine and did an outstanding job. From the attention to detail in the set up, the flexibility of the party size, to the choices of cheese and finally the amazing service! I can not thank them enough for going the extra mile! Highly recommend for both parties and just a glass of wine!

This place is so wonderful, a little hidden gem for sure. It has a lovely cosy and friendly atmosphere, the decor is on point and matches the vibe. We had a party board and we were not disappointed! We asked for recommendations of cheeses and had an accompanying wine flight. It was all so perfect, the knowledge of the Manager on the wines, cheeses and meats really made the experience. Such a little gem in Bedford High Street and somewhere we should all support! Fantastic Cheese, Wine and atmosphere it's really a place to sit and relax! Our first time visiting and it did not disappoint us in the slightest we've already booked in for two future events there and cannot wait to go back🧀 I didn't catch her name but the lady who served us took the time to get to know our tastes and recommended the perfect cheeses for our tastes including a delicious wine🍷 definitely my newest favourite place! It was a very cozy place with staff being super friendly excited and well informed about their cheese and wine selection. The space is quite small but nicely decorated. Food wise, other than cheese and small nibbles there is no other food. Our only disappointment was that we asked for a romantic cozy table, which we got, however on the same day there was a birthday party and a hen party all at the same time. This is why I'm putting only 3 stars, as they could have informed us about the situation given our request.

We chose this wine bar for a light evening meal, because it served cheese plates and charcuterie. It has a small, but pleasant interior. We enjoyed our evening, but we couldn’t help compare the quality and the value to an excellent wine bar that we had just visited in Norwich.

What an amazing find in the back streets of Bedford, really tucked away so super pleased we stumbled across it. Staff were extremely knowledgeable and offered lots of advice on the various cheeses and wine pairings. The food was beautifully presented and fantastic quality. The wine was delicious. We will be making this a regular destination.

My wife and I visited for the first time for an anniversary meal last night. Both of the team were really friendly, relaxed and so knowledgable, particularly Marc. All of the wines that we had were fantastic, and the cheeses and meats were sensational. A lovely find and we will return! A great addition to the Bedford eatery scene.

A fabulous evening enjoying English wines and cheese. Our sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. I felt that the evening was good value for money.

Myself and 3 girlfriends visited Decant on it’s re opening night, after they had been shut due to someone driving their car through their frontage. The refurb has been done exceptionally well and the comfy new chairs are much nicer than the previous ones. The wine list has been greatly improved and the selection of cheeses were impressive. We opted for a party sharing board between us, which was beautifully presented and plentiful-with a great selection. One of our party was vegetarian, so the meats were offered and presented on a separate plate, which was a really considerate touch. Alex Early provided live entertainment…he’s great. A great evening…welcome back Decant.

Well that was disappointing, it was boarded up!! What a shame, we have been before and it was amazing. They need to take down their online booking service and post something on the website.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Decant; even though it was busy, the owners Marc & son Tristan were incredibly attentive and friendly and the whole group raved about the quality of the produce. We opted for the party board (meats & cheeses) and a few bottles of Montaignan Carignan, recommended by Marc. We stayed late into the evening and will be coming again very soon. Merci!

Absolutely loved my experience here! Great selection of wine & cheeses and everything I tried was fabulous! I had a brownie for dessert and it was amazing too! Portions are more than reasonable so I wouldn’t eat a big meal before visiting - myself and my partner got the 4 cheese board with a side of olives and we still had some cheese left over. Next time we want to go bigger so we are planning to eat quite early so we can fit it all in! Staff were very friendly & knowledgable on the menu which was great in helping us decide what to have. Cannot wait to go back! If you have never been to Bedford I would look up parking before you visit.

As a cheese lover, this venue is a superb place to go. The cheese we were served was excellent and the service we received was also warm and friendly. We would definitely go back there again. The venue is small so I would advise to book in advance but it has a really nice, relaxing atmosphere and was well worth what we paid for it.

We came here as a party of four friends on a Friday evening. The setting is very ambient and nicely styled. Parking is extremely limited near the Deli so something to consider if you are driving. Though there is parking on the surrounding streets. We opted for a cheese board to cater for 2-3 ppl (we shared it between two) with additional extra’s of chutney and a caramelised onion pork pie. Bread, grapes and crackers were served with the cheese board and 4 cheeses. The wine choices on the menu were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The only negative was the lack of staff for what was a very busy Friday night 08.11.19). There was one waitress serving the whole deli and a gentlemen whom I believe was the Chef came out to assist. We had to wait a lengthy amount of time to order due to other tables coming in and the waitress having to sort out other tables drinks orders. Though I was not overly fussed as I enjoyed the leisurely atmosphere. The other issue was being sat by the door and having a constant stream of customers leaving the deli to go outside and smoke, leaving the door open with no consideration for others. So our table constantly had to get up to close it and in the process a bottle of wine we had placed on the floor to make space on our table for the cheese boards got knocked over. Obviously this was not the fault of the staff in the Deli but maybe a notice could be put on the door reminding customers to be courteous when they go outside to smoke/vape. The waitress did discount our bill though due to the waiting and these issues. Aside from that, this place is a fantastic little find and I look forward to coming here again.

The menu could have done with being more descriptive, such as outlining what each dish and platter came with but the staff were able to give a good overview. There’s a fantastic range of cheeses on offer and the portion sizes served certainly aren’t scrimped on! The sharing patters are presented well with a good selection of grapes and chutney. Complimentary baskets of bread were provided which was delicious and there was no issue getting refills. Wine selection is good too at reasonable prices. Overall it is a wonderful place for a relaxing evening with good friends. There’s a nice atmosphere and for cheese lovers the best option in the town. I’ll certainly be returning!

Spent a lovely few hours here with friends on bank holiday Sunday. Enjoyed the cheese board to share and some wine. The cheese was delicious, a really good selection. We will be back, thoroughly recommend.

My best friend and I decided to try Decant for a much needed girly evening a few nights ago. We booked a table for 8pm.

I came here for my birthday and it was very nice. The staff were really knowledgeable about the wine and cheese and recommended some things I wouldn't have chosen myself, but I enjoyed all of it. Will definitely return.

Overall a really lovely and postie experience. the person serving us was very helpful and seemed to know alot about the cheese on offer. Serving was generous and we were offered more of everything without having to ask. that said, we were the only ones in there on a saturday afternoon

Visited quite a times and again yesterday for my birthday. We shared charcuterie board that was outstanding. The brillet cheese was just so good. We also had the Camembert which was cooked to perfection. Some places can’t get it right but Decant can! The wines and the service were equally just as good. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited Decant recently for my sister's bridal party! She, and all the guests had the best time eating and drinking the perfectly selected wines and cheeses! All my guests made comment on what good value for money it was, and I agree. They did decorations so tastefully and it was very kind of them to give us so much attention and details about the wine. We had a cheese afternoon tea in a French style and this was elegantly executed. Thanks so much, it was BRILLIANT! Myself and two friends had a lovely time at your bar this week. The waiter was fantastic - really informative about the cheese and helpful with recommendations. We were the only people there so it could have been awkward but he respected our privacy and engaged just the right amount.

Well isn’t this a little gem! Wine, cheese, meats, pretty much my idea of heaven! We didn’t have a clue what to pick and the advice given was spot on! We ended up with some cheeses we wouldn’t have tried before (new favourites) without the advice of the staff.

We popped in after dinner on Saturday. The place was very busy but Kerry and Adam made us feel very welcome. The wine was fantastic and the cheese board was equally as good. There were a couple they had run out of but that just means you have to try others so no complaints here! Excellent place and will certainly go back

With wine and cheese being two of my favourite things, you can imagine my delight at discovering there was a new cheese and wine bar in town. I have visited on many occasions now...for a private event, with my husband, with friends and family and each time it does not disappoint. It has that personal intimate feel and is incredibly welcoming...you are made to feel like a valued customer. A great selection of cheeses with pairing wines, and a selection of lovely gins and spirits if you are not a wine drinker. It has been to a very high consistent standard every time I have visited, with great service and friendly staff. There is a real community feel about it and I thoroughly enjoy coming here. Highly recommended.

If you haven't visited yet, then you are missing out. They have an extensive wine and Gin menu which is excellent. Generous and delicious cheese and charcuterie boards offer the chance to try something new. The team are always helpful, and no question too small. If you need help on pairing your Wine or Gin with the perfect cheese, just ask. I hosted my Husband's 50th birthday there in February, and everything was taken care of. All we needed to do was turn up on the evening and enjoy.

Book a table for 8 including 3 kids with a nice gentleman on the phone for 6.30pm. As soon as we arrived a lady said to me even before we were made welcome or offered any service we need to leave the restaurant by 8.15 as the table is pre booked! I was not told this when booking the table even though this woman said I shld have been told this and we were lucky to have been squeezed in between booking! She then said it’s up to us if we want to stay or go else where! So rude and unprofessional! We stayed for one drink and a small cheese board which we shared between us. We will not be returning there again. Staff need to be taught each customer is valuable and without us they will not have a business! I will definitely let all of my friends and colleagues know how we were treated. All we wanted was a chilled cheese and wine night out with my goddaughter and family!

Two friends and I enjoyed a lovely evening at this new deli in Bedford's town centre. We were greeted on arrival by our waitress for the evening, Sophie who talked us through the extensive cheese and wine menu. Fair to say, I'd not heard of most of the cheeses but were guided by Sophie and opted for a sheeps cheese, a blue cheese and a soft cheese on a sharing board. All delicious. Of he wines , we chose one of the half price reds, a Fleurie which was soft a mellow. We visited on a Thursday evening which proved to be a fairly sociable and buzzing evening. This deli does offer meat sharing boards too, though we didn't try this. I would reccomend this venue for a reasonably priced evening out.
