Nice country pub,good food, cosy restaurant and helpful pleasant staff. First visit, will certainly be back again..

We were searching for a dog friendly pub atmosphere that served food different to a Sunday Roast and wow did we find it! The sea bass was incredible, the waiting staff were very friendly without encroaching on our evening and the atmosphere was lovely as it appeared many regulars enjoy the venue. Highly recommended.

Brilliant atmosphere and great food from a dog friendly pub. Spent the Sunday night here and it was fantastic, in no way can I reasonably fault it. The staff were lovely and attentive and the food was delicious. I would make it my local if I lived in the area (it seems a few other people already have). If ever in the area I'd definitely recommend it.

Had a great meal with a large group of people. As with all groups numbers seem to fluctuate but the staff were super flexible and nothing was too much trouble for them. 10/10 😊

Really lovely food here, owners have been here for a long time, and that's a good sign. It is always busy (good sign) even during week got lunch. roast dinners are lovely too. Only downside I would say is not enough vegetarian options, veggie lasagne, vegetable bake, macaroni cheese(but my partner is lactose intolerant and can't have this) or jacket potato on a fairly decent size menu. On the specials today not a single vegetarian option as a meal. If you want returning veggie visitors you need more options. I'm not vegetarian but my partner is. I would still go back and my partner really loved the vegetable bake.

Good thatched pub that excels at food service but therefore lacks a little atmosphere if you're just after a drink.

First time visit here with friends, really good food,service, definitely recommend it.

The beef was served with several big lumps of visible gristle which was overall unappealing to look at. It was tender enough otherwise. Gravy was floury. Pork was very fatty to the point of being off putting. No mid meal check, but told the waitress. No apology but she said she would tell the chef. No further response until we paid, when the landlord said (politely) that he didn't understand what was wrong. Again no apology. When I commented on that he said he was going to apologise when I paid. If someone is unhappy about something does it make sense to leave them to stew on it for a while before trying to resolve things? I am not a complainer, and it takes a lot to speak up. I wasn't after money back or freebies. This was. In my mind a quite expensive and disappointing Sunday roast.

Consistantly good food from a good variety menu. Service was also good and they managed to fit us in on a very crowded day.

It’s quite outdated, reminds me of a social club. It seems their target audience is anyone above 70 and There was lipstick on my glass and food up the wall which made me feel a bit sick. The roast was nice, my partner had the chicken which he said was good value and I had the nut roast which was nice- the Yorkshire puds were good. The roasts weren’t anything special though. It would’ve got more stars if it was cleaner as it made me not trust the food!

Three of us had Sunday lunch here. From booking when I phoned up and spoke to I think the landlord who was willing to accommodate a guest in a wheelchair through to our experience on the day the service was excellent. Food was great with big portions and separate generous portions of veg. Highly recommended for disabled access as there is a ramp to get in (albeit slightly steep), level access once inside, spacious tables, not too crammed in and rare to find in an old pub a disabled toilet. Thank you, we will return

A light, airy dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and tables spread apart. The service was efficient and prompt and waitresses friendly. The menu was long and varied, although nothing was marked as vegan (even the veg), so it seems the only vegan option is jacket potato with veg and baked beans. Still, that suits me. EDIT: Turns out they have a secret vegan menu! I was offered it on another visit after having jacket pot and beans for a second time. It's fantastic they have a vegan menu, and it should be shown to every customer alongside the meat one!

Amazing service and delicious food. We had an anniversary party and the service was brilliant nothing too much trouble. Thanks to Dave and all the staff for making it such a lovely experience ♥

Amazing food for a local pub, staff truly welcoming and attentive, desserts to die for as well, highly recommend a Sunday visit.

We arrived late but they fitted us in and it was a really good meal after a long day.

Sunday Lunch. We had half a chicken, roast beef, Shepard's pie and 3 dishes of vegetables. It was excellent.

Nice local pub, good service, drinks and lovely views. I haven't eaten there for a while but when I did it was always very good, home made burgers etc. However, the decor could use a makeover, some background music would improve the atmosphere and there was a strong smell of bleach in the pool / bar area which I found overpowering. Good value though and welcoming, a good local if you live nearby, but needs some investment, there are other pubs in the area which you could argue are better.

Good meal, good service, nice location. Went for Sunday lunch yesterday, only choice of beef or pork, no chicken, other menu available. Very busy, lots of groups of eight plus people. Had lunch yesterday (Friday) as good as ever, had the oven baked salmon delicious. Nice meal again yesterday. Good meal again today but the service was slow

We had a brilliant Sunday roast today at the Thatched Inn. All pubs do them, few are exceptional, and the Thatched Inn is definitely one of the best we've had. The pork loin and beef were really tender and the portion size was perfect. We also loved all the extras that came with our roast and that the veg came on the side - and lots of varieties of veg too! Great service, great food, great price, great experience. Thank you to everyone at the Thatched Inn and landlord Dave for a lovely Sunday afternoon!

Great food, great atmosphere amazing service! I had the roast ribeye of beef which was melt in the mouth with delicious roast potato’s and a thick flavoursome beef gravy and lovely veggies. For afters I had quite simply the best lemon meringue pie I’ve ever eaten! This is our local and we will definitely be coming back again and again! Thank you the thatched inn for a lovely Sunday lunch 🫶🏻

We’ve had a fantastic Sunday afternoon here, the roast was amazing - great portions and cooked to perfection. Couldn’t resist the sweet menu, so much choice - the banoffi pie was delicious! Would definitely come back here and highly recommend 👏🏻

It's a nice pub but could do with a refurb and sitting on tatty chairs is off putting to say the least. Food was tasty but in my opinion there was too much!!

Dog friendly!!! This place came up on our dog friendly restaurant search so looked beautiful on the pictures especially the 1 of it snowing!! So we came to check it out it is really cosy!! Wished the fire place was lit that would definitely kick out some heat. Service was very slow we got seated no menus and nobody came over so my partner had to go to the bar to order drinks and to ask if we need to order at the bar. So we got our menus then was waiting ages again but all the staff were laughing and joking about behind the bar which is a shame. But when we got a guy finally come serve us he was actually amazing even got our dogs some water without even having to ask for it he was so lovely. Food is actually all your home comforts!! The lasagne was huge I definitely could of fed 2 people with it lol. And the steak my partner said was 1 of the best steaks he had had. So apart from the service at the beginning we did have a great time nice food and was satisfied when we left Thank you

The food and experience at The Thatched Inn is always fantastic. Most recently, my family & I came for Mothers Day and then 6 days later my birthday! The food is always home cooked and delicious. You just can't beat it. (Pic is mac and cheese!)

Food and service are fantastic. Portion sizes are large. The cost of your food is fair for the quantity you get. I would highly recommend this place for a meal and a drink out. They also have a Disabled entrance for wheelchair users, which is brilliant. 👏👏

We popped in for a light lunch, we ended up having a wonderful lunch, dessert a few drinks & coffee, it was really lovely & faultless! We will most definitely be back with our sister in law & her partner as we know they’d love it too! Such a beautiful pub!! Lovely welcoming owner’s & excellent GF choices! Keep it up guys 👍🏻

Attentive good friendly staff with good food.

Disappointed at the delay of food , people after us had their meals we had to wait 1hr and 10 mins for salad and 2 overdone fish and chips 😞

Nice food and great service they left. And let you enjoy yourself.

Firstly, go if you're hungry, the portion sizes are enormous. Secondly, go if you fancy a pie. We had the chicken special pie and the steak pie, both of which were not only vast but really excellent too. Packed full of meat, almost no filler, they were both very very good. Oh and thirdly the price was extremely good value. Easily one of the best pubs in the area. Happily go back, make sure you book though. We've been turned away a few times in the past, gets very busy.

We visited for an evening meal on a Monday evening. The generous helping of food served was delicious, good selection of drinks and all reasonably priced. The pub was more of a dining experience rather than just for a drink and therefore lacked a traditional pub atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, friendly and provided great service.

Called in here without having booked with my sisters at lunch time. Pleasant staff, who showed us to a table immediately. Had wonderful selection of jacket potatoes - just what we wanted, served with a generous salad. Looked through their menu and thought it had a good selection of different dishes, all reasonably priced.

Quality homemade fare. Very welcoming and prices are good especially considering the portion size.

Dinner was very nice. Desserts overly expensive though.

Amazing food and service, I had the rump steak cooked medium rare for main and the banoffee pie for pudding. I will definitely be back.

Such great value for money , huge portions , great service , can't fault it

The food was excellent as usual.David is a really lovely guy.Unfortunately there were 2 staff members who were actually abrupt when serving us and had a very poor attitude also seeing a waitress in gym shorts wasn't very appropriate for serving in a restaurant.I would always go back to the Thatch because of david and his family they are just so lovely.

Food was ok, have had better meals here was very salty, pudding was very yummy. Service was VERY slow and staff were a bit grumpy and looked scruffy in over sized clothes.

Went here with 18 people last month, staff were so friendly, food was amazing. It was really clean as well. Would really recommend :)

We expected a standard pub and restaurant, but were amazed by this beautiful place. The chief is doing a great job preparing local food and the standards like burgers and fries. Anyhow, he also does a great merengue cake, Eton Mess and similar. And everything freshly prepared, which makes it well worth the wait for the food of 30 minutes. I had a nice lamb burger with sweet potato fries which was gorgeous. If that wasn't enough, the three girls serving us provided a service that was spectacular. Always smiling, always helpful, always at hand which made the whole evening a great experience. Clear recommendation.

Not a bad gastro pub at all. Ample parking, nice looking place. Friendly service. Quite a lot on the menu. Food was pretty tasty. My only real issue is the cost of the starters and desserts. I think if I go here again I'd stick to mains only. The main dishes were nice and tasty. Large portions and very well cooked. The starters were just not quite worth it. And we didn't bother with any desserts (£7 each) as we saw them being served at other tables, and they seemed a bit small and not hugely exciting. We went home and bought 2 Vienneta ice creams instead - much better value.

Pub food at its best! Cumberland sausage with beautifully flavoured onion cider gravy, proper mash and generous fresh vegetables. We were welcomed warmly despite not having booked. Excellent service, enjoyable meal. Didn’t give five stars as the banoffee pie was a let down. Base tasted unpleasant, strange soft ice cream. Could be easily remedied to match the quality of the main course cooking.
